Last Christmas Cards of 2022

It's still December so I can still post Christmas cards, right?! Well, these are the last two for this year, both made with Penny Black's Masterpieces Made Simple panels.

For the first card, I simply die cut the panel with Zig Zag Stackers die and matted it onto red cardstock. I then embellished the panel with some twine and red sticky back pearls, mounted it onto cardbase and stamped the sentiment from Christmas Sentiments sentiment set.

For the second card, I die cut the word 'joy' twice with Immense Joy die and then stacked them on top of each other. I then die cut the Masterpieces Made Simple panel with the same Immense Joy die so that I could get the inside of the 'O' . For the background, I die cut cream coloured cardstock with Semi-Circle Stackers die and splattered the panel with some gold spray. I then adhered the word 'joy' and the inside of the 'O' in place and embellished the die cut word with a twine bow and some sticky back pearls.

Amaryllis Bundle

I'm sharing a Christmas card made with the beautiful stamp by Penny Black called Amaryllis Bundle.

Once again, I wanted to keep the card quite simple as I wanted the stamped image to be the centre of attention. I stamped it onto watercolour cardstock and coloured the image with my Karin markers. I then sponged the edges of tha panel slightly with Distress Oxide inks in Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy. I stamped the sentiment from the sentiment set Feeling of Christmas and splattered the panel with some gold spray. I matted the panel onto dark brown cardstock and then pink cardstock before adhering it onto my cardbase. Lastly, I embellished the card with some pink sequins.

Snowfield

Christmas is almost over but I still have some Christmas cards to share. This one was made with a gorgeous stamp by Penny Black called Snowfield.

I love these kinds of stamps but there is just no way that my painting skills would allow me to paint a snowy scene to go with the stamp. However, I thought this stamp is photorealistic enough and gorgeous on its own so I decided to use it as it is. I stamped it with Staz-On ink on kraft coloured cardstock, sponged some Distress Oxide inks in Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo on the edges of the panel and splattered it with some white watercolour to create falling snow. The sentiment I used is from the sentiment set Feeling of Christmas. Lastly, I matted the panel onto some dark brown cardstock. Quick and simple and makes for a pretty card, I think.

Fern

I went quite CAS with this card :) I wanted something really clean and simple and done with die cuts so this is what I ended up with.

The leafy die I used is Fall Fern by Penny Black. I die cut it twice out of different shades of green cardstock. I also die cut the frame twice with Ribbon Stackers die. I then adhered them in their places before stamping the sentiment from Jolly Snippets sentiment set. Lastly, I embellished the card with some sticky back pearls and a twine bow.

PBSC: December

We're midway through December and it's time for a reminder post for Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The theme is, as always, Anything Goes with the optional theme of Christmas.

I went for the optional theme and used this gorgeous poinsettia stamp by Penny Black called Scarlet. I coloured the image with my Copics and sponged some Distress Oxide ink in Antique Linen on to the edges of the panel before splattering it with white watercolour and gold spray. I then die cut the frame with Semi-Circle Stackers die and adhered it in place. The sentiment I used is from Jolly Snippets sentiment set. After stamping the sentiment, I adhered the panel onto red card base.

Pinecone Poetry

 I think this stamp is just so beautiful! It's called Pinecone Poetry and it's by Penny Black.

I coloured the image with my Copics before die cutting the panel with Antique Frame die. I left the die in place and sponged some Distress Oxide inks in Salvaged Patina and Frayed Burlap on the panel. I added some white gel pen accents to the image and splattered some white watercolour on it before stamping the sentiment from Jolly Snippets. I then adhered the panel onto the card base before embellishing it with some clear gems.

Cottage Whimsy

 I made a slimline Christmas card with a sweet Penny Black stamp called Cottage Whimsy.

I started by die cutting the card base using Slimline Medley die and then I stamped the Cottage Whimsy stamp onto the card base. I coloured the image with my Copics and masked it before putting the die back in place. After the die was in place, I sponged some Distress Oxide inks to the card base to create a night sky (I used Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, Wilted Violet and Black Soot). I also splattered some white watercolour onto the card to create falling snow. Lastly (after the inked background was absolutely dry), I used a sentiment from Feeling of Christmas sentiment set and heat embossed it.

Bundled Bunny

 I'm sharing a wintery creation made with a new Penny Black stamp called Bundled Bunny.

I coloured the image with my Copics and fussy cut it out. I then created the background by die cutting a panel with Semi-Circle Stackers die, leaving the die in place and then sponging some Distress Oxide ink to the panel. Before removing the die, I splattered some white watercolour on it to represent snow. I created a bank of snow by die cutting white cardstock with Curved Stitch die and adhering it to the panel with some foam adhesives. I used the Peaceful Pines die to create some wintery vegetation and adhered them in place before adhering the sweet bunny. The sentiment is from the Jolly Snippets sentiment set. I also used some white sticky back pearls to embellish the card.

I'm entering my card to:

Snowman Hugs

Isn't this stamp adorable!? It's from a new Penny Black stamp set called Snowman Hugs.

I created a winter/Christmas card with a clean look with it. I die cut the panel with Zig-Zag Stackers die and stamped the image on it before colouring it with my Karin markers. After colouring it, I put the die back in place and sponged some Distress Oxide inks to the panel using Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac. I also splattered some white watercolour on the panel before stamping a sentiment from Feeling of Christmas sentiment set. I then matted the panel onto some lilac cardstock and placed some patterned paper from the paper pad Wintertime behind it.

Autumn to Christmas

I thought I'd share the last autumn cards in one post so I can start sharing my Christmas cards.

The first card features a pretty little oak branch which comes from the stamp set Autumn Sunshine. I stamped it onto a panel die cut with Sewing Stackers die. I coloured the image with my Karin markers, put the die back in place and sponged some Distress Oxide inks (Frayed Burlap, Vintage Photo) to the panel. I then stamped a sentiment from the sentiment set Always Thankful onto the panel, and decorated it with a tiny bow and some rhinestones. I created the background by stamping some leaves from the set Lush & Lavish using Distress Oxide ink in Vintage Photo. I then sponged Distress Oxide ink in Frayed Burlap onto the edges of the panel and adhered the panel onto dark brown card base before adhering the stamped panel in its place.

All stamps and dies used are by Penny Black and available in their online store:

* Autumn Sunshine (30-933)

*Always Thankful (30-932)

* Lush & Lavish (30-263)

* Sewing Stackers (51-651)

The next two cards feature the same stamp set, Autumn Entrance. For the first card I wanted to create an autumn look. I stamped the brick wall, the little plant and the door and coloured them with my Karin markers. I then sponged some Distress Oxide ink in Antique Linen to the top of the panel and a sentiment from the Always Thankful set to the bottom of the card. I die cut a few leaves with Fall Foliage die set and sponged them too with some Distress Oxide inks. Before adhering the leaves in their places, I added a little twine on the top portion of the panel. After adhering the panel to dark brown card base, I embellished the card with some clear rhinestones.

The second card with the same stamp set is a bit more Christmassy. I did the same stamping and colouring but I used a tiny wreath from the stamp set and stamped it onto the door. I embellished the card with some die cuts, Peaceful Pines for the pine branches and cones coloured by sponging Distress Oxide inks onto them, and tiny snowflakes with Dancing Snowflakes die. I also die cut the little sign with Sign die before stamping a sentiment from Jolly Snippets sentiment set.

All stamps and dies used are by Penny Black and available in their online store:

* Autumn Entrance (30-489)

* Always Thankful (30-932)

* Fall Foliage (51-655)

* Peaceful Pines (51-705)

* Dancing Snowflakes (51-708)

* Sign (51-608)

* Jolly Snippets (30-925)

PBSC: December

December challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge is live! The theme for this month is, as always, Anything Goes with the optional theme of Christmas.

I opted for the optional theme and made a CAS Christmas card. The stamp I used is called Berry Beauty by Penny Black. I coloured directly onto the stamp with my Karin markers and stamped the image several times adding colour where I wanted it. Lastly, I spritzed the stamp with water and stamped once again to make the colours blend. I also went through the image with a damp watercolour brush to further blend the colours. I then masked the edges of the panel and sponged some Distress Oxide inks to it. The colours I used is one of my favourite blends, Salvaged Patina with a bit of Frayed Burlap on top of it. I also splattered a bit of white watercolour on top of the stamped and inked panel. The sentiment comes from the sentiment set Feeling of Christmas.

Please do pop by the PBSC blog to see the inspiration created by my fellow team mates and don't forget to join in!
