AAA Birthday #8: December - Joulukuu

It's December, time for a new challenge at AAA Birthday and our theme this time is 'Balloons & Banners'. As our Guest Designer, we have the talented Maaike joining us.

For my card, I used the cute little mouse with his balloon from the Penny Black set It's Your Day. I coloured the image with my watercolours and added some details in my white Gelly Roll pen. I also sponged some Distress Oxide ink to the edges of the image. I then die cut the frame using Penny Black's Stitched Loops die and adhered it in place. The banner is by Lawn Fawn, I stamped and die cut it before watercolouring it. I stamped the sentiment ('Congrats') with tiny alphabet stamps by Papertrey Ink onto the banner and adhered the banner in place. Lastly, I embellished the card with clear sequins.

Snowy village - Luminen kylä

A snowy little village for Christmas :) For this Christmas card, I used the little village from Ready, Set, Snow stamp set by Lawn Fawn which I coloured with my Copics. I created a window by die cutting the white panel with an MFT die and adhering blue cardstock behind it. I then attached the village in place and added falling snow with my white gel pen. I stamped my sentiment (which says 'Merry Christmas') before adhering the panel onto my card base.

Tähän joulukorttiin pääsi luminen kylä Lawn Fawnin setistä Ready, Set, Snow. Väritin sen Copiceilla. Ikkunan stanssasin MFT:n stanssilla ja kiinnitin sen taakse sinistä kartonkia, johon lisäsin lumisadetta valkoisella geelikynällä. Sitten kiinnitin kylän paikoilleen ja leimasin tekstileiman ennen kuin kiinnitin paneelin korttipohjaan.

Bookmarks - Kirjanmerkkejä

My 9-year-old son needed some bookmarks so I made him two. These are about 15 x 6 cm in size. For the first one, I sponged some Distress Oxide inks in Peacock Feathers and Frayed Burlap onto watercolour paper and splattered it with some water.  I coloured the bunny from Penny Black set Special Friends with my Copics and die cut him out. The banner is from the same set and coloured with Copics as well. I stamped my son's name on the banner with letters from the Penny Black set Kate's Alphabet. The grass is die cut with Penny Black's Garden Edgers die and the star garland with String of Stars die (I used glitter cardstock in gold for the stars, they're more bright and glittery in real life than in the photo). Lastly, I mounted the watercolour panel onto some kraft cardstock, attached everything in place and rounded the corners of the bookmark with a Corner Chomper.

For the second bookmark, I made the background using an old cloud shaped price tag as a mask and sponged some Distress Oxide ink in Peacock Feathers to create the clouds. The hot air balloon is from the Lawn Fawn set Blue Skies and I coloured it with my Polychromos pencils. I used Paper Smooches letter stamps from the set Alphadot to stamp my son's name. I mounted this bookmark also on some kraft cardstock and rounded the corners with a Corner Chomper.

Tein pari kirjanmerkkiä pojalleni, nämä ovat n. 15 x 6 cm. Ensimmäisessä käytin Penny Blackin tuotteita. Pupu ja banneri on Special Friends -setistä ja Copiceilla väritettyjä. Taustan tein Distress Oxide -musteilla ja vettä roiskimalla. Ruoho on Garden Edgers -stanssilla stanssattu ja tähtinauha String of Stars -stanssilla. Pojan nimen leimasin Kate's Alphabet -setin aakkosilla. Toisen kirjanmerkin taustan tein vanhalla pilvenmuotoisella hintalapulla ja Distress Oxide -musteella. Kuumailmapallo on Lawn Fawnin Blue Skies -setistä ja Polychromoksilla väritetty. Nimen tähän leimasin Paper Smoochesin Alphadot -aakkosilla.

Lilac - Syreeni

I love this sweet little girl! I think she looks so lovely in her floral dress and headpiece :) She is Garden Girl Lilac by Stamping Bella and I coloured her earlier in the summer during the Daily Marker 30 day Colouring Challenge. To make a card with her, I die cut her with the matching die and then die cut the frame using Stitched Stackers dies by Penny Black. I stamped my sentiment ('Congratulations') onto a piece of vellum and adhered it behind the frame. For the background I used a piece of patterned paper and I embellished the card with a single heart die cut with a Lawn Fawn die.

Stanssasin leimakuvan irti ja kiinnitin kohotarroilla. Kehyksen stanssasin Penny Blackin Stitched Stackers -stansseilla, tekstileiman leimasin vellumvyötteelle. Taustalle laitoin kuviopaperia ja koristeeksi laitoin Lawn Fawnin stanssilla stanssatun sydämen.

The Flower Challenge #31

It's April (yay for spring!) and time for a new challenge over at The Flower Challenge and this time we have a fun sketch for you. Use the sketch above and please remember to use floral stamps/dies. For my card I used the Our Friendship Grows set by Lawn Fawn - and yes, I made the sunflowers pink! I did my colouring with Copic Markers and added the frames in the background, they're die cut with the Altenew die Fine Frames. The sentiment says 'Congrats'.

Taustaan tein vesiväreillä suorakulmion, roiskin siveltimellä hieman Distress Stainiä päälle ja leimasin tekstin Concord&9thin Painted Rose -setin leimalla. Koko paneelin stanssasin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja kiinnitin harmaaseen korttipohjaan. Koristeeksi vielä yksi Lawn Fawnin stanssilla stanssattu sydän.

I made this simple thank you card with the hot air balloon from Lawn Fawn's 'Blue Skies' set. I coloured it with my Polychromos pencils, die cut it out and attached it with foam adhesives. I made the background with watercolours, added some splatters with my watercolour brush using Distress Stains and stamped the sentiment from 'Painted Rose' set by Concord&9th. I die cut the whole panel with a My Favorite Things die and attached it to dark grey card base. To finish the card, I added one single heart die cut with a Lawn Fawn die.

Lumiukko ja pingviini - Snowman and penguin

Joulukorttikausi avattu! :) Tämä joulukortti syntyi Create a Smilen tuotteilla, lumiukko ja pingviini ovat Cool Buddies -setistä. Väritin ne Copiceilla ja leikkasin irti. Tekstileima on samasta setistä. Taustan tein maskaamalla ensin kortin taivasosion ja mustettamalla lumikinoksen, minkä jälkeen maskasin lumikinoksen ja tein taivaan levittämällä mustetta Nautical Stars -sapluunan läpi. Sitten vain kiinnitin kaverukset paikoilleen ja lisäsin pienen Lawn Fawnin stanssilla stanssatun sydämen.

I've made a start at making Christmas cards for this year and first up there's this one made with Create a Smile goodies. The adorable snowman and his friend the penguin come from 'Cool Buddies' stamp set as does the sentiment. I coloured the snowman and the penguin with my Copic markers and fussy cut them out. I made the background by first masking off the sky and sponging some Distress ink to create the snow bank. I then masked the snow bank and made the sky by sponging the same Distress ink through 'Nautical Stars' stencil. After the background was ready, I attached the buddies to their places, stamped the sentiment and added one little heart (die cut with a Lawn Fawn die).

Onnea - Congrats

Tällainen synttärikortti meni 11 vuotta täyttäneelle veljenpojalle. Väritin tuon Doodle Factoryn öttiäisen Copiceilla, leikkasin irti ja laitoin silmät. Taustalle Lawn Fawnin kuviopaperia, MFT:n stanssilla stanssattu kehys ja Lawn Fawnin stanssilla stanssattu tähti. Lopuksi leimasin tekstin.

I made this birthday card for my nephew who turned 11. I coloured the stamped image with my Copics and fussy cut him out. I thought he might need some proper eyes, so glued some googly eyes on him. The patterned paper is by Lawn Fawn, and I die cut the frame with My Favourite Things dies and the star with Lawn Fawn dies. I stamped the sentiment ('Congrats!') straight to the background paper.

Kihlaparille - On your engagement

Tein kihlakortin varastoon Penny Blackin A Rose -leimalla. Väritin leimakuvan taas Zigeillä ja stanssasin paneelin irti. Kehykset stanssasin MFT:n stanssilla, Dekoretten tekstileiman leimasin vellumbannerille ja koristeeksi laitoin Lawn Fawnin stanssilla stanssatun sydämen. Taustapaperi on Lili of the Valley'n.

I made an engagement card for my stash using the Penny Black stamp 'A Rose'. I coloured the image with my Zig Markers, die cut it with Hero Arts die and added a frame to it (an MFT die). I stamped my sentiment ('To the engaged couple' in Finnish) on a vellum banner and added a single heart (a Lawn Fawn die) as embellishment. The patterned paper is by Lili of the Valley.

My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla stanssattuun paneeliin leimasin Concord&9th:n Lacy Leaf -setin leimalla "taustan", johon puolestaan leimasin tekstin Simon Says Stampin setistä Sail Away. Koristeeksi riitti yksi sydän (stanssattu Lawn Fawnin stanssilla). Sitten vain korttipohjaan kiinni. Simppeli linja jatkuu :D

I made this Valentine's Day card for my husband. I die cut the white panel with a My Favorite Things die and stamped the background with a stamp from the 'Lacy Leaf' set by Concord&9th. I then stamped my sentiment from the set 'Sail Away' by Simon Says Stamp. I only added one single heart as embellishment, die cut with a Lawn Fawn die. Then I just adhered the panel to the card base. Quite CAS! :D

Tämän ystävänpäiväkortin tein Nonni-ystävälle ja uskallan sen jo näyttää, kun se saapui jo tänään perille. Leimakuvana tässä on Waffle Flowerin ihana karhu pikkupyörineen setistä Happy Day. Väritys taas Zigeillä, vähän geelikynää poskissa ja Nuvo Dropsia kukkien seassa. Taustan paneelin stanssasin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja mustetin Distress Oxide -musteella, perään roiskin vähän vettä. Stanssattu teksti on Create a Smilen stanssilla stanssattu ja leimattu teksti on WPlus9:n Modern Anemones -setistä. Lisäksi vielä muutama stanssattu sydän (Lawn Fawn) ja korttipohjaan kiinni.

I made this friendship card for my dear friend Nonni, I heard it arrived today so I can show it here. The stamped and die cut image is from the 'Happy Day' set by Waffle Flower (I love it how serene he looks riding his little bike! :) ), I coloured it with my Zig Markers and added a dot of gel pen to his cheeks and tiny drops of Nuvo Drops among the flowers. The pink panel is die cut with a My Favorite Things die and then inked with Distress Oxide. I splashed a few drops of water to it. I added my sentiment, the die cut word is by Create a Smile and the stamped one is from the 'Modern Anemones' set by WPlus9. I also added some die cut hearts (Lawn Fawn) to the card.

Rakkaushyppy - Jumping for Love

Tämä ystävänpäiväkortti menee puolestaan nuoremmalle pojallemme. Leimakuvana tässä on Purple Onion Designsin Holly, jonka laitoin tähän hyppimään rakkaudesta :) Väritin leimakuvan Zigeillä ja mustetin reunoja Distress Oxide -musteella, roiskin perään muutaman vesipisaran (mikä ei kyllä taida kuvassa näkyä). Kiinnitin leimakuvan Paper Smoochesin stanssilla stanssattuun polaroid-kehykseen, lisäsin rakkauspuhekuplan (Lawn Fawnin leima) ja muutaman Lawn Fawnin stanssilla stanssatun sydämen. Sitten vain taustapaperi lisäksi ja korttipohjaan kiinni.

This Valentine's Day card goes to our youngest son. The stamped image is 'Holly' by Purple Onion Designs, the cute little mouse is clearly jumping for love here :) I coloured the image with my Zig Markers, sponged some Distress Oxide ink to the edges and added a few drops of water to it (which probably doesn't show in the photo but does in real life). I framed the stamped image with a Polaroid frame die cut with a Paper Smooches die, added the love speech bubble (by Lawn Fawn) and some die cut hearts (Lawn Fawn again).

Kettu - Fox

Tässä olisi ensimmäinen tekemäni ystävänpäiväkortti, tein sen vanhimmalle pojalleni. Leimakuva on Lawn Fawnin Into the Woods -setistä, väritin sen Copiceilla ja stanssasin irti. Taustalla oleva tägi on Create a Smilen stanssilla stanssattu ja mustetin sitä hieman niin ikään Create a Smilen sapluunan läpi. Taustapaperin stanssasin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja koristeiksi päätyi vain noita "rakkauspuhekuplia" samaisesta setistä kuin kettukin ja yksi haaraniitti pitämään tägin paikallaan.

I made this Valentine's Day card for my 7-year-old son. He likes animals so I thought this cute little fox would be perfect for him. I coloured the fox with my Copics and die cut him out. I placed him and his "love speech bubbles" onto a tag that I die cut with a Create a Smile die. I inked the tag a bit with Distress Ink with the help of a Create a Smile stencil. The background paper is die cut with a My Favorite Things die.

Isänpäivänä - On Father's Day

Tällaisen kortin tein isälleni isänpäiväksi. Isäni pitää luonnosta ja puista, joten käytin tätä Simon Says Stampin modernia puuta, jonka leimasin Hero Artsin ombre-musteella ja stanssasin irti. Valkoiseen paneeliin stanssasin ikkunan My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja laitoin siihen tuon puun ja pienen Lawn Fawnin stanssilla stanssatun sydämen. Sitten vain tekstileima ja kiinnitys tummanharmaaseen korttipohjaan.

It's Father's Day in Finland today and I made this card for my Dad. My Dad loves nature and the trees so I chose to use this gorgeous modern tree by Simon Says Stamp (it's from the 'One with Nature' set). I stamped it with Hero Arts ombre ink before die cutting it. I die cut the window with a My Favorite Things die and the little heart with a Lawn Fawn die. The sentiment says 'On Father's Day' in Finnish.

Höyhen - Feather

Tein pienen pakettikortin lahjan kylkeen. Käytin siihen höyhenleimaa Lawn Fawnin Dream-setistä, embossasin sen kullalla, "väritin" sen muutamalla kerroksella kirkasta Wink of Stellaa ja lisäsin pieniä Liquid Pearls -tippoja. Taustan ympyrästanssi on Simply Graphicin. Lisänä vellumvyöte ja muutama pieni paljetti.

I made a little gift tag using the feather stamp in Lawn Fawn's 'Dream' set. I heat embossed it in gold, added layers of clear Wink of Stella on it and then added some tiny drops of white Liquid Pearls on it. The heart circle in the background is die cut with a Simply Graphic die. I also added a simple vellum banner and some tiny gold sequins on it.

Leija - Kite

Vähän värikkäämpää korttia vaihteeksi. Kuviopaperin lisäksi käytin tähän kartonkia, jonka stanssasin My Favorite Thingsin Wonky Stitched Rectangles -stanssilla ja mustetin Distress Inkillä. Lisäsin siihen muutaman vesiroiskeen, että saisin vähän elävyyttä siihen. Leija tykötarpeineen on Lawn Fawnin Sunny Skies -setistä, väritin sen Copiceilla ja kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. Tekstileima on Papertrey Inkiä ja lisänä muutama enamel dots.

It's a bright and cheerful card today. I die cut (My Favorite Things 'Wonky Stitched Rectangles) a piece of cardstock which I then sponged with some blue Distress Ink. I added a few splatters of water to it to give it a bit of texture and interest. The kite is from the 'Sunny Skies' set by Lawn Fawn, I coloured it with my Copics and attached with some foam adhesives. The sentiment is a stamp by Papertrey Ink and as embellishments, I added some enamel dots.

Höyhenet - Feathers

Less Is More -haasteessa on aiheena kehys ja minulla sattui olemaan tämä Paper Smoochesin Fused Frame -stanssi vielä ihan käyttämättömänä, joten päätin tehdä sillä kortin. Stanssasin kehyksen harmaasta kartongista ja Lawn Fawnin tekstileiman leimasin myös harmaalla. Lawn Fawnin höyhenet väritin Copiceilla, lisäsin kirkasta Wink of Stellaa päälle ja kiinnitin kohotarroilla. Koristeeksi yksi ainoa enamel dots.

Less Is More Challenge has the theme 'Use a Frame' this week and as it happens, I have this 'Fused Frame' die by Paper Smooches that I've never used before, so I just had to play along. I die cut the frame out of grey cardstock and stamped the Lawn Fawn sentiment with grey ink. I stamped the feathers with Lawn Fawn stamps, die cut them out and coloured with my Copics. I also added a coating of clear Wink of Stella on them before attaching them with foam adhesives. I added one single enamel dot to embellish the card.

Kuumailmapallollinen onnea - Hot air balloon

Lawn Fawnilla on uusi haasteblogi, jota varten tein tämän synttärikortin ja yhdistinpä tähän pari muutakin haastetta :) Minulla on vain muutama Lawn Fawn -setti ja päätin käyttää tähän Blue Skies -setin kuumailmapalloa ja viirinauhaa, jotka stanssasin irti ja väritin Gansai Tambi -vesiväreillä. Viireihin leimasin tekstin Papertrey Inkin aakkosilla. Kehystin kuumailmapallon MFT:n stanssilla stanssatulla kultakehyksellä, johon liitin taustaksi vellumia. Paperi on BoBunnya ja koristeina vielä muutama paljetti.

There's a new Lawn Fawn challenge blog called 'Lawn Fawnatics' and I made this card for it, and luckily was able to combine it with a couple of other challenges as well :) I don't have too many Lawn Fawn sets (yet, I might add... ;) ) so out of the ones I have, I decided to use 'Blue Skies' set. I stamped and die cut the hot air balloon and the banner and coloured the images with my Gansai Tambi watercolours. I then stamped the sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) with alphabet stamps by Papertrey Ink - luckily they were small enough to fit in the tiny banners! I die cut the frame with My Favorite Things' die and added some vellum behind it. The patterned paper is by BoBunny and as embellies there are some sequins.

Ohilento - Flying By

Tein tämän kortin CAS(E) This Sketch! -haasteeseen. Nuo luonnoshaasteet tuntuvat aina jotenkin haastavilta, joten olen nyt päättänyt yrittää niitä tehdä, edes silloin tällöin. Josko ne niin muuttuvat helpommiksi... ;) Tähän korttiin käytin Lawn Fawnin Flying By -settiä, leimasin ja stanssasin paperilennokin ja väritin sen Copiceilla. Taustalle kuviopaperia ja osittain leimattu teksti (loppuosa tekstistä jatkuu kortin sisäpuolella) sekä "vauhtiviiva". Lennokin kiinnitin tarrapaloilla hieman koholle.

I made this card following the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch! I always find sketch challenges a bit difficult but I've made a promise to myself to try and practice them by joining in different sketch challenges when I can. Maybe practice makes, if not perfect, then at least better! ;) I used the Lawn Fawn set 'Flying By' for this card, I stamped and die cut the paper plane and coloured it with my Copics. I added some patterned papers in the background, stamped half the sentiment (the rest I stamped inside the card) and the little "flight line". I attached the paper plane with foam adhesives so it is a little raised.
