The Flower Challenge #45: Reminder - Muistutus

We're midway through our June challenge at The Flower Challenge with the theme of 'Navy + One Other'. Our Guest Designer is Jenny Hall.

This time I went with navy and grey as my colours with white as the neutral colour.  I used Country Charisma stamp set (30-690) by Penny Black with the matching dies (Country Charisma Cut Out 51-634), and coloured the images with my Copics. For the background, I die cut a frame with Framed (51-622) die set by Penny Black. For the sentiment I combined a stamp from Only You (30-666) sentiment set with the die cut 'you' cut with For You dies (51-105), I heat embossed the stamped part of the sentiment.

Tekstin yhdistelin leimasta (Only You -setistä 30-666) ja stanssatusta sanasta (For You -stanssisetistä 51-105).

PBSC: June - Kesäkuu

The June challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge has started and the theme is, as always, 'Anything Goes'. The optional theme for June is 'Spots and/or Stripes'. Our Guest Designer is Bunny and the prize for our winner is $20 gift voucher from 1-2-3 Stitch.

My card features both spots and stripes in both the stamped image and patterned papers. The image I used is from the set Be Happy, I coloured it with my Copics. I then die cut the panel with Stitched Nested Frames die by Penny Black, added a bit of patterned paper for the background and adhered them in place. I added a die cut leaf, a tag and a heart to the top corner (die cut with Penny Black dies Leaves, Gift Card Pocket, and Bear-y Much Cut Out respectively) and added a bit of twine, a sequin and some enamel dots as embellishments. Lastly, I added my sentiment ('Congratulations').

The Flower Challenge #45: June - Kesäkuu

The June challenge is starting at The Flower Challenge and this month we have a colour challenge to inspire you, we're asking you to use 'Navy + One Other'. Our Guest Designer is the fabulous Jenny Hall.

I decided to go with die cuts this time and used a Penny Black die called Playful Posies and die cut my very dark navy florals with it. My one other colour is white and I die cut two frames with Penny Black's Simple Stackers dies. After adhering everything in place, I stamped my sentiment ('Congratulations') in navy ink.

PBSC May - Toukokuu

We are mid-way through our May challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge where the theme is 'Anything Goes/Inspired by a Song'.

I went with Anything Goes option this time and colored this sweet bunny by Penny Black called Flying By with Zig markers and I used the matching die to cut it out. For the background, I used a strip of patterned paper and some sequins to embellish it. The sentiment wishes 'Joyous birthday'.

The Flower Challenge #44: Reminder - Muistutus

We're mid-way through our May challenge at The Flower Challenge and our theme is 'Monochrome'. Our wonderful Guest Designer is Nonni.

I went for yellows for my reminder card. The stamp I used is 'Together' by Penny Black. Using yellow Distress Markers, I coloured straight to the stamp and stamped onto watercolour cardstock several times using a Misti. I sponged some yellow Distress Oxide ink to the edges of the panel, stamped my sentiment (it says 'Sunshine to your day') and matted the panel onto some dark brown cardstock before adhering it to yellow card base.

The Flower Challenge: May - Toukokuu

New month - new challenge at The Flower Challenge. Our theme for May is 'Monochrome' and as our Guest Designer we have the very talented Nonni.

I went for greys in my monochrome card and as much as the photo looks black and white, I can assure you it is actually a colour photo! :D Anyways, I used Penny Black stamps for my card, the watering can is from Country Charisma set and the flowers are from Exquisite Envelope set. I coloured them with my Copics and die cut them with the matching dies. I used dark grey card base and I die cut a rectangle frame out of the same grey cardstock. The sentiment is die cut with a Simply Graphic die.

I was inspired by one of my favourite songs, Unforgettable by Nat King Cole, and I used a stamp by Penny Black called 'Unforgettable'. I coloured the stamped image with my Copics and die cut the center with Antique Frames die. I sponged some Distress Oxide ink to the edges, stamped my sentiment (it says 'Congratulating You') and adhered some craft foam on the back of the center panel before adhering everything in place. This way the center panel is raised  from the card base.

PBSC April - Huhtikuu

We are mid-way through our April challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge and our theme for April is, as always, 'Anything Goes' and the optional theme is 'Use Ribbon/Twine'.

For my card, I used the gorgeous floral stamp Blushing peeking out of the envelope from the set Exquisite Envelope, both by Penny Black. I coloured them with my watercolours and die cut them with their matching dies. For the background, I used some patterned paper matted onto cardstock and a circle frame die cut with Stitched Square and Circles dies by Penny Black. I used a bit of twine around the envelope and stamped my sentiment (it says 'A hug for you').

Spring birthday card - Keväinen synttärikortti

I made a little birthday card with this lovely stamp by Penny Black called Unfolding. I stamped it onto watercolour paper, coloured with my watercolours and sponged some Distress Oxide inks to the panel. I then stamped my sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) before matting the panel onto some green cardstock and finally onto kraft coloured cardbase.

Keväinen synttärikortti syntyi Penny Blackin Unfolding-leimalla, jonka väritin vesiväreillä. Mustetin paneelin reunoja Distress Oxide -musteilla, kerrostin vihreälle kartongille ja lopulta korttipohjaan. Tekstileiman leimasin paneeliin.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge: April - Huhtikuu

It's April and time for a new challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge. As always, the theme is 'Anything Goes' but if you want a bit of creative nudge, the optional theme is 'Ribbon/Twine'.  Please do join us, there is a prize up for grabs for the winner.

For my card, I die cut a panel with Simple Stackers die by Penny Black onto which I stamped the pretty vase with flowers from the set From the Garden. I coloured the image with my Copics and stamped the dots on the vase. I stamped my sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) onto a strip of pink cardstock, tied a twine into a bow on it and adhered it in place. I then stamped the brick wall with the background stamp Brick Wall by Penny Black straight onto my cardbase and adhered the panel onto it with foam adhesives. Lastly, I embellished my card with some sequins.

Flowers - Kukat

A little encouragement card I made with the beautiful floral stamps by Stamping Bella. The flowers are from the sets Straight Up Floral and Daisy Floral and I coloured the images with my Copic markers before die cutting them with the matching dies. I die cut the frame with Leaf Stitched Frames dies by Penny Black, added a bit of patterned paper in the background and stamped the sentiment from the Penny Black set Blooming Sentiments.

Penny Black Secret Garden: Unforgettable

I created this card with the absolutely gorgeous stamp by Penny Black called Unforgettable. I stamped it onto a panel of watercolour paper and coloured with my watercolours. I then stamped the sentiment from Blooming Sentiments set onto the upper corner and sponged some green Distress Oxide ink onto the three edges of the panel before adhering it onto kraft coloured cardstock and then my card base.

Penny Black Secret Garden: Springtime Sigh

It's time for a mid-way reminder at Penny Black Saturday Challenge where the theme is 'Anything Goes' with the optional theme of 'Think Spring'. There is a prize up for grabs as well, 1-2-3 Stitch is giving our winner a USD20 voucher.

I went with the optional Think Spring theme which I associate with flowers (oh I cannot wait to see flowers popping up!) and decided to use this gorgeous new floral stamp from Penny Black called Springtime Sigh. I watercoloured the image and fussy cut it out. I stamped the sentiment from the Blooming Sentiments set onto a little sign that I die cut with the new Sign set. For the background, I used a piece of patterned paper from Beau Jardins paper pad and added a pink panel die cut with Stitches of Love die. Lastly, I embellished my card with a ribbon tied into a bow and some enamel dots.

Penny Black Secret Garden: Layered Leaves

I love this die from Penny Black's new release Secret Garden. It's called Layered Leaves and it's so simple and elegant. For this card, I die cut it out of white cardstock and then just glued different coloured cardstock behind the leaves, trimming off excess. I adhered it to my cardbase and stamped the sentiment from Blooming Sentiments set in yellow. I love that sentiment and think it's very apt for the unusual times we live in. I wanted to keep the card as CAS as possible so I didn't use any embellishments.

Penny Black Secret Garden: Exquisite Envelope

I made a 'just because' card with some new stamps from Penny Black. The envelope and the flowers are from the set Exquisite Envelope, I coloured the images with watercolours and die cut them with the matching dies. For the background, I used a piece of patterned paper from Gentle Whisper paper pad onto which I stamped with the new stamp Vintage Postcard. I also sponged some Distress Oxide ink to the edges of the patterned paper panel and stamped the sentiment from the Magical Friendship set. I added a bit of doily behind the envelope before attaching it.

Penny Black Secret Garden: Blooming Bunch

What's more beautiful than a tulip? A bunch of them! Loving this new stamp from the new Penny Black release, Secret Garden, called Blooming Bunch. Such a beautiful stamp and so lovely to colour. I stamped it onto watercolour card and coloured with my Lukas Aquarell 1862 watercolours before sponging some Distress Oxide ink onto its edges. Then I stamped the sentiment from Blooming Sentiments and matted the panel onto some pink cardstock. I used a piece of patterned paper from the Painted Blooms paper pad in the background.

Penny Black Secret Garden: Herb Garden - and some news!

I have some lovely news to share today! I was accepted into the Penny Black Saturday Challenge Design Team! Woop woop! I've played along their challenges many times and it is so wonderful to be accepted into the DT. Thank you so much, PBSC ladies, for accepting me! :)

The theme over at PBSC is always 'Anything Goes' (as long as you use a Penny Black image) but there is always an optional theme as well, and in March it is 'Think Spring'. For me, spring means new growth, a time to (re-)pot plants and to eagerly wait for new growth and I chose my Penny Black stamp with this in mind. The stamp I used is a new one, it's called Herb Garden. I stamped it onto watercolour paper and coloured with my watercolours. I also added some watercolour splatters.  The sentiment I used comes with the Herb Garden stamp. After I stamped it, I matted the panel onto some dark brown cardstock before adhering it to the card base.

Aiheena PBSC:ssä on aina 'Anything Goes' eli kaikki käy, kunhan käyttää Penny Blackin leimoja. Vaihtoehtoinen aihekin on ja maaliskuussa se on 'Think Spring'. Minulle kevät merkitsee uutta kasvua, kasvien istuttamista ja niiden kasvun odottelua ja tämän perusteella valitsin käyttämäni leiman. Se on uusi leima nimeltään Herb Garden. Leimasin sen vesiväripaperille ja väritin vesiväreillä, muutaman roiskeenkin lisäsin. Tekstileima on samaisesta setistä. Paneelin kerrostin tummanruskealle kartongille ja lopulta korttipohjaan. 

Käyttämäni leima on siis Penny Blackin uudesta kokoelmasta Secret Garden ja käyttämäni leiman löydät yllä olevan linkin takaa.

Penny Black Secret Garden: Wings & Vases

I created this card with products from the fab new release by Penny Black called Secret Garden. The stamp set I used is called Wings & Vases and both the vase with flowers and the butterflies are from it. I coloured the the floral image with my watercolours and die cut it using the matching die, Wings & Vases Cut Out. I then stamped the butterflies onto my pink panel. The frame I used is die cut with the die set Framed, I adhered it in place and stamped the sentiment from the set Magical Friendship inside it. Lastly, I adhered the vase in place with foam adhesives.

Tämän kortin tein uudella Penny Blackin leimasetillä Wings & Vases. Väritin vaasin kukkineen vesiväreillä ja stanssasin irti. Taustalle leimasin saman setin perhosilla. Kehyksen stanssasin Framed-stanssisetin stanssilla ja kiinnitin paikoilleen. Tekstileima on Magical Friendship -tekstileimasetistä, leimasin sen kehyksen sisään. Lopuksi kiinnitin vaasin paikoilleen kohotarroilla. Käytetyt tuotteet ovat siis Penny Blackin uusimmasta kokoelmasta Secret Garden, joka on saatavilla nettikaupastaan, linkit tuotteisiin yllä.

AAA Birthday: March - Maaliskuu

It's time for a new challenge at AAA Birthday and this time our theme is 'Flowers'. We also have two  Guest Designers joining us, Dhruvika and Tasha.

For my DT card I used a gorgeous floral stamp by MFT, this is called Floral Focus. I coloured it with my Copic markers and die cut it with its matching die. I wanted to keep the card simple, so I die cut a panel out of white textured cardstock with the new Penny Black die Simple Stackers. I then adhered the floral image in place, stamped my sentiment (it says 'Happy Birthday' in Finnish) and adhered the panel onto my cardbase. Lastly, I embellished the card with some enamel dots.

AAA Birthdayssä on uuden haasteen aika ja tällä  kertaa aiheena on Flowers eli kukat. Guest Designereita meillä on kaksi, Dhruvika ja Tasha.  

Omaan korttiini käytin MFT:n ihanaa Floral Focus -leimaa, jonka väritin Copiceilla ja stanssasin irti. Halusin pitää kortin yksinkertaisena, joten stanssasin taustalle paneelin valkoisesta teksturoidusta kartongista uudella Penny Blackin stanssilla Simple Stackers. Sitten kiinnitin kukan paikalleen ja leimasin tekstin ennen kuin kiinnitin paneelin korttipohjaan. Lopuksi koristelin kortin muutamalla enamel dotsilla.

Penny Black Secret Garden: Country Charisma

I made a just because card with some of the new stamps and dies from the fab new release by Penny Black called Secret Garden. The set I used for this is called Country Charisma and there is a set of matching dies for it called Country Charisma Cut Out. I coloured both the watering can and the branch with my Copics and used the dies to cut them out. I then carefully cut an opening to the watering can with my craft knife so I was able to slide the branch in place. For the background, I die cut a panel using the new Simple Stackers die. I sponged some Distress Oxide ink to it, stamped the sentiment from the new set Magical Friendship and attached the watering can with the branch to it with foam adhesives. Lastly, I adhered the panel to teal coloured cardbase.

Tämän kortin tein uudella Penny Blackin leimasetillä Country Charisma. Väritin vesikannun ja oksan Copiceilla ja stanssasin irti Country Charisma Cut Out -stansseilla. Kannuun tein pienen viillon askarteluveitsellä, että sain oksan kannun sisään. Taustan stanssasin uudella Simple Stackers -stanssilla, mustetin hieman ja leimasin tekstileiman setistä Magical Friendship, minkä jälkeen kiinnitin leimakuvan tarrapaloilla paneeliin. Lopuksi kiinnitin paneelin korttipohjaan. Käytetyt leimat ja stanssit ovat Penny Blackin uudesta kokoelmasta Secret Garden, joka on saatavilla nettikaupastaan, linkit yllä.
