Penny Black Share the Love: Heart Border

Happy New Year and happy 'Roaring 20s'! I'm beginning my 2020 crafting with a CAS card made with new products from the new and fabulous Penny Black release called Share the Love. This is a very clean and simple card with minimal stamping so it's quick and easy to make. I first die cut a panel of white cardstock with the new frame die called Stitches of Love, I love these new frame dies, each size comes with different stitching around the edges. I then die cut the panel with a new die called Heart Border which cuts a sort of negative image on cardstock. I also die cut the Heart Border on pink cardstock so that I could get the hearts in pink. I folded my cardbase out of red cardstock and adhered the white panel on it. I then stamped my sentiment, it's from the new sentiment set called Hug Me, on the white panel and adhered the pink hearts in place. Lastly, I added a couple of tiny rhinestones in two of the hearts.

Hyvää Uutta Vuotta ja uutta vuosikymmentä! Aloitin uuden vuosikymmenen askartelut CAS-kortilla, jossa on hyvin vähän leimailua. Stanssasin ensin paneelin valkoisesta kartongista Stitches of Love -stanssisetin stanssilla. Sitten stanssasin paneeliin tuon sydänkuvion Heart Border -stanssilla, samalla stanssilla stanssasin vielä pinkkiä kartonkia, että sain pinkkejä sydämiä. Korttipohjan taittelin punaisesta kartongista ja kiinnitin siihen valkoisen paneelin, johon leimasin tekstin uuden tekstisetin Hug Me leimalla. Lopuksi kiinnitin pinkit sydämet paikoilleen ja pariin sydämeen laitoin koristeeksi pienen timantin. Kaikki käytetyt tuotteet ovat Penny Blackin ja saatavilla nettikaupastaan, linkit yllä.

AAA Birthday #8: December - Joulukuu

It's December, time for a new challenge at AAA Birthday and our theme this time is 'Balloons & Banners'. As our Guest Designer, we have the talented Maaike joining us.

For my card, I used the cute little mouse with his balloon from the Penny Black set It's Your Day. I coloured the image with my watercolours and added some details in my white Gelly Roll pen. I also sponged some Distress Oxide ink to the edges of the image. I then die cut the frame using Penny Black's Stitched Loops die and adhered it in place. The banner is by Lawn Fawn, I stamped and die cut it before watercolouring it. I stamped the sentiment ('Congrats') with tiny alphabet stamps by Papertrey Ink onto the banner and adhered the banner in place. Lastly, I embellished the card with clear sequins.

Snowy village - Luminen kylä

A snowy little village for Christmas :) For this Christmas card, I used the little village from Ready, Set, Snow stamp set by Lawn Fawn which I coloured with my Copics. I created a window by die cutting the white panel with an MFT die and adhering blue cardstock behind it. I then attached the village in place and added falling snow with my white gel pen. I stamped my sentiment (which says 'Merry Christmas') before adhering the panel onto my card base.

Tähän joulukorttiin pääsi luminen kylä Lawn Fawnin setistä Ready, Set, Snow. Väritin sen Copiceilla. Ikkunan stanssasin MFT:n stanssilla ja kiinnitin sen taakse sinistä kartonkia, johon lisäsin lumisadetta valkoisella geelikynällä. Sitten kiinnitin kylän paikoilleen ja leimasin tekstileiman ennen kuin kiinnitin paneelin korttipohjaan.

Penny Black First Snow: Wintry Whites

I guess it's no secret that I love floral stamps and this one from the new release by Penny Black is no exception. It's called Wintry Whites and it's so delicate and beautiful! I stamped it onto kraft cardstock and coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils. I then softly inked the edges of the panel with white ink. To create the frame, I die cut white cardstock with Stitched Stackers die and adhered the stamped panel onto it before attaching it to the card base. I heat embossed the sentiment from the same Wintry Whites set onto a strip of dark brown cardstock and attached it in place. Lastly, I embellished the card with white sticky back pearls.

Penny Black First Snow: Starlight

A pink Christmas card? Well, why not! Pink is my colour of the day with this Christmas card I made with new stamps from the new Penny Black release called First Snow. The stamp I used is called Starlight. I stamped it with black Memento ink avoiding the stars, coloured it with my Copics, and stamped it again, this time I inked only the stars with Versamark ink and heat embossed them in white. I also sponged some pink Distress Oxide ink on it so that the white stars would pop more. The frame I used is die cut with Snowflake Frame die, you get this small frame if you do not separate the two dies from each other. For the background, I used some patterned paper from Holiday Trimming paper pad and also embellished the card with a die cut (Burlap Edge). The sentiment comes from another stamp set called Sweet Sledder.

Penny Black First Snow: Heap of Happy

I made this card using a new stamp from the new Penny Black release First Snow. The stamp is called Heap of Happy. I coloured the image with my Copic markers and fussy cut it out. I then die cut a circle frame using the Stitched Circles die set by Penny Black. For the background, I used some patterned paper from the paper pad Wintertime. After I had attached all the elements on my card base, I stamped my sentiment from the new sentiment set Winter Chill and added some red sequins to embellish the card.

Christmas Wreath - Joulukranssi

I made a quick little Christmas card with Natural Beauties set by Paper Smooches. I know it's not really a Christmas stamp set but I thought this little wreath with added pinecones and berries would make a lovely Christmas wreath. I coloured the images with my Copics and die cut them out. I also die cut the frame with Paper Smooches' Fused Frame die. The sentiment is by Penny Black, this one was dainty enough to fit inside the frame. I matted the white linen textured panel onto some dark brown cardstock and attached everything in place before embellishing the card with some clear sequins.

Kehyksen stanssasin Paper Smoochesin Fused Frame -stanssilla, tekstileima taas on Penny Blackia. Kerrostin valkoisen paneelin tummanruskealle kartongille, kiinnitin kaikki paikalleen ja koristelin lopuksi vielä paljeteilla.

Penny Black First Snow: Joy

Oh joy! Penny Black has released new Christmas/winter themed stamps and dies and they are beautiful! I couldn't wait to use the new Festive Frolic stamp set and created a Christmas card with this sweet little kitty. I coloured him with my Copic markers and die cut him out with the matching die. I also added a bit of Nuvo glitter gloss pen to the white parts of the kitty's hat but unfortunately it doesn't really show in the photos.. I then die cut the word 'joy' out of red cardstock with Jumbo Joy die and decided to replace the O with the kitty. I ended up die cutting the letters and the kitty out of light grey cardstock a couple of times and stacking them on top of each other so that they became a bit bulkier and stand out from the background a bit more. The white frame that I used in the background is die cut with Snowflake Frame die (you get that little die cut frame if you do not separate the dies from each other but use them while they're still attached to each other). Lastly, I embellished the card with some clear sequins.

Penny Blackiltä on tullut uusia jouluisia/talvisia leimoja ja stansseja ja tässä ensimmäinen korttini niillä. Kisulainen on setistä Festive Frolic, väritin sen Copiceilla ja stanssasin irti. Lisäsin vähän glitter-kynää hatun valkoisiin osiin, mutta se ei oikein kuvissa näy.. Sanan 'joy' stanssasin Jumbo Joy -stanssilla ja päätin korvata o:n kisuliinilla. Stanssasin sekä kirjaimet että kissan useampaan otteeseen harmaasta kartongista ja liimasin ne päällekkäin, näin niistä tuli paksumpia ja vähän paremmin erottuvia. Taustan kehyksen stanssasin Snowflake Frame -stanssilla, tuo kehys tulee "kaupan päälle", kun setin stansseja ei irrota toisistaan. Lopuksi koristelin kortin muutamalla kirkkaalla paljetilla. Kaikki käytetyt leimat ja stanssit ovat siis Penny Blackin ja saatavilla nettikaupastaan, linkit yllä.

Cats - Kissat

Let's face it - colouring animals is definitely not my forté! LOL! But I do love this stamp by Stamping Bella :) It's called Squishy Cats and I coloured it with my Copics and fussy cut the part beneath the cats off. I replaced it with some patterned paper and added a die cut sentiment by Winnie and Walter. I embellished the card with some enamel dots.

Penny Black Merry and Joy: Winter Garden

I absolutely love this stamp! It's a gorgeous new stamp from Penny Black called Winter Garden and it is such a joy to colour! I coloured the image with my Copics and added some gold splatters on it. I then cut the panel down to size and rounded the corners with a corner chomper before adhering it to cardbase (I added couple of extra layers of cardstock behind the panel so that it is slightly raised from the cardbase). I die cut the word Merry with Merry and Joy die out of glittery gold cardstock, I also die cut the word out of black cardstock a couple of times and adhered them behind the glitter cardstock so that the die cut word would be a bit raised and stand out a bit more.  I embellished the card with some glittery gold enamel dots.

Lopuksi koristelin kortin muutamalla kultaisen kimaltavalla enamel dotsilla. AAA Birthday #6: October - Lokakuu

A new challenge starts at AAA Birthday today and this time we have a colour palette to inspire you (please see the photo below). So please make a birthday card in any style you wish using at least two colours you see in the photo. As our Guest Designer, we have the very talented Trina P.

 

I managed to use all the colours of the photo in my card! As my stamped image, I have a wreath called Golden Delight by Penny Black. I stamped it onto my cardbase and coloured with my Copics. I then cut a panel the size of the card front, die cut an opening to it using a die from the set Stitched Circles by Penny Black so that it fits around the stamped image, and adhered it in place. I heat embossed my sentiment on a strip of black cardstock and adhered it with foam adhesives. Lastly, I embellished my card with gold sequins.

The Flower Challenge #37

It's time for the October challenge at The Flower Challenge and this time we're asking you to make a CAS card - a clean and simple floral card. Penny Black Merry and Joy: Dainty Doves

I really like the combination of white and gold so that's what I went for in this Christmas card. The stamp I used is a new one from Penny Black's new collection Merry and Joy and it is called Dainty Doves (the set includes two doves). I watercoloured the image very lightly and added gold accents with my Gelly Roll pen. I also added gold enamel dots as berries in the branch. I die cut the frame using the new Snowflake Frame die, I cut it once out of white cardstock and the second time out of glitter gold cardstock so that I got the rectangle frame in gold. I die cut the sentiment out of the same glitter gold cardstock using the new Merry and Joy die. Finally, I simply adhered everything in place.

Penny Black Merry and Joy: Beaming

Beaming Elf reporting for fairy light duty! :) Oh, isn't he just the cutest elf ever!? Totally smitten with him :) Penny Black has released a new collection of Christmas stamps, it's called Merry and Joy and this little cutie is one of the new stamps called Beaming. I stamped him onto watercolour cardstock and coloured with my watercolours. I also added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to the fairy lights but I couldn't really get it to show in the photos. For the sentiment, I combined a new word die from the set Merry and Joy (the set has both words as dies) and a stamped sentiment from the set Merry Builder. Lastly, I adhered the panel onto some red cardstock and then onto my cardbase.

Penny Blackilta on tullut kokoelma uusia joululeimoja ja -stansseja, jotka ovat kaikki aivan ihania! Tässä yksi suloisuus nimeltään Beaming. Leimasin sen vesivärikartongille ja väritin vesiväreillä, valoihin laitoin kirkasta Wink of Stellaa, mutta valitettavasti se ei oikein kuvissa näy. Tekstin tein Merry and Joy -setin stanssilla ja leimalla setistä Merry Builder. Lopuksi kiinnitin paneelin punaiselle kartongille ja korttipohjaan. Penny Black Autumn Bliss: Forest Delight

I made two one-layer cards using the new Forest Delight stamp set from the new collection Autumn Bliss by Penny Black. I love trees and tree stamps so this set was perfect for me. Both cards are pretty similar, one-layers with masked and inked rectangles and trees in the pride of place. For the first card, I coloured the tree with my Copics, masked and sponged the rectangle and lastly stamped my sentiment from the Family Sentiment set.

The second card is my attempt at making a Halloween themed card with non-Halloween stamps. I masked the rectangle and sponged several different colours of Distress Oxide inks to it. I also splattered black Distress Oxide ink with my watercolour brush to it. I then stamped my tree, I thought it would work as a silhouette stamp as it doesn't have too many leaves to be coloured (in fact, I did not colour the leaves at all). Lastly, I spelled 'spooky' as my sentiment with Penny Black alphabet stamps called Kate's Alphabet. Not sure how spooky or Halloween-y it is though... :D

Tein kaksi one layer -korttia Penny Blackin uudella Forest Delight -leimasetillä. Molemmat on samalla tyylillä tehty, yksi"kerroksisia", joissa maskattu ja mustetettu suorakulmio ja siinä puu. Ekaan väritin puun Copiceilla ja leimasin tekstileiman Family Sentiment -setistä. Toinen on yritelmäni tehdä Halloween-aiheinen kortti ei-Halloween leimoilla. Tuo puuleima onkin melkein silhuetti-leima, vain jokunen väritettävä lehti, jotka nekin jätin värittämättä. Tekstin leimasin Penny Blackin aakkosleimoilla Kate's Alphabet. Ei siitä nyt erityisen hurja ja Halloween-mainen tullut mutta sinne päin :D Kaikki leimat ovat taas Penny Blackin ja saatavilla nettikaupastaan, linkit yllä.

The Flower Challenge #36: Reminder - Muistutus

We're midway through our September challenge at The Flower Challenge with the theme of Anything Goes. This month we're sponsored by My Favorite Things who will kindly give our winners (yes, we'll have TWO winners!) a gift card of USD 25 each. As a Guest Designer, we have the incredibly talented Michele Ferguson.

I used the pretty Wildflowers set by MFT for my card. I stamped and die cut the images before colouring them with my Copic markers. I then cut my panel and die cut the openings to it as well as to a piece of craft foam that I adhered behind the panel. After I had adhered the panel to the card base, I adhered the flower and the leaf to their places with some liquid glue. Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment from the Geometric Greenery set and adhered the sentiment strip in place.

Syyskuun haaste on puolivälissä The Flower Challengessä, aihe on siis Anything Goes ja tarjolla on palkintoja - My Favorite Things lahjoittaa kahdelle voittajalle kullekin USD 25:n arvoisen lahjakortin. Guest Designerina meillä on mahtava Michele Ferguson.

Omaan korttiini käytin MFT:n Wildflowers-settiä, kukan ja lehden väritin Copiceilla ja stanssasin irti. Leikkaamaani paneeliin ja sen taustalle kiinnittämääni softikseen stanssasin aukot samoilla stansseilla ennen kuin kiinnitin paneelin korttipohjaan. Kukan ja lehden kiinnitin paneelin aukkojen pohjalle. Tekstileiman Geometric Greenery -setistä embossasin mustalle kartonkisuikaleelle ja kiinnitin paikoilleen.

Penny Black Autumn Bliss: Golden Delight

Penny Black has released two new collections of stamps and dies, Autumn Bliss and Merry & Joy, full of gorgeous new products for autumn and Christmas. I'm starting with a card featuring stamps and dies from the Autumn Bliss collection. The stamp I used is called Golden Delight and it also has a matching die, Golden Delight Cut Out. I really love this stamp, it's such a beautiful, dainty wreath. I heat embossed the image on kraft cardstock with white embossing powder and coloured it with watercolours. I then die cut the wreath with the matching die. The sentiment I used is from the same mini stamp set and I heat embossed it too on a strip of dark brown cardstock. I then attached the wreath and the sentiment strip on the card blank that I folded out of the same kraft cardstock I used for the wreath. I embellished the card simply with a little heart that I die cut with Hearts Galore die by Penny Black (the die cuts several different sized hearts at the same time so I saved the other little hearts for later use). Lastly, I rounded the bottom corners of the card with a corner chomper.

Spring Bouquet - Kevätkimppu

I got my very first Studio Katia stamp this summer but had a chance to make a card with it only now. This one is called Spring Bouquet and it's such a gorgeous stamp! I coloured the image with my Copic markers and die cut it out. I wanted to keep the card quite CAS so I just folded the card base out of textured cardstock, heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of grey cardstock (the sentiment says quite literally 'On your day of celebration'), attached everything down (the bouquet is attached with foam adhesives for a little dimension) and finished the card with clear sequins.

Tein kortin ensimmäisellä Studio Katia -leimallani, tämä ihanuus on Spring Bouquet ja väritin sen Copiceilla. Halusin pitää kortin suht yksinkertaisena, joten taittelin korttipohjan valkoisesta tekstuuripintaisesta kartongista, embossasin tekstileiman tummanharmaalle kartonkisuikaleelle, kiinnitin kaiken paikoilleen (kukat kohotarroilla) ja lisäsin lopuksi muutaman paljetin.

AAA Birthday: September - Syyskuu

It's September and we have a new challenge for you at AAA Birthday. This time we're asking you to 'Use a Stencil', so a birthday card in any style you prefer (CAS, cute, layered... you name it, we love it!) as long as you use a stencil is welcome. We also have a Guest Designer, Rachelle, joining us.

I went masculine again with my one layer card as I realised I need a birthday card for one of my nephews. I used a Papermania stamp that I heat embossed onto my cardbase with brown embossing powder. I then masked the stamped image and the edges of the card before sponging some Distress Oxide ink in Bundled Sage through a Prima stencil. After I removed the stencil and masking, I stamped my sentiment with Distress Oxide ink in Vintage Photo (the sentiment says 'Congratulations').

Syyskuu on alkanut ja AAA Birthdayssa alkaa uusi haaste. Tällä kertaa synttärikortissa tulisi käyttää sapluunaa. Kortin tyyli saa olla ihan mikä haluat, mutta sapluunaa siinä pitäisi käyttää. Itse tein taas maskuliinisen kortin, sillä tarvitsen synttärikortin veljenpojalleni. Embossasin Papermanian leiman ruskealla jauheella suoraan korttipohjaan, minkä jälkeen maskasin sen ja kortin reunat. Käytin Priman sapluunaa ja mustetin taustan kuvion Distress Oxide -musteella Bundled Sage. Lopuksi leimasin tekstileiman niin ikään Distress Oxide -musteella Vintage Photo. 

AAA Birthdayssä kannattaa käydä kurkkaamassa DT-porukan ja Guest Designerin kortit ja sen jälkeen vain sapluunat esiin ja synttärikortti tulille!
