Penny Black Full Bloom: Golden Dance

I made a CAS card with a stamp from the most recent release by Penny Black. This one is called Golden Dance and it comes with a matching die, Golden Dance Cut Out. I stamped the image on watercolour paper and coloured it with Gansai Tambi watercolours before die cutting it out. I wanted to keep the background simple, so I folded a card base from Neenah cardstock and did a bit of masking and ink blending. I die cut the white burlap strip with a die called Burlap Edge, adhered it and stamped the sentiment (it's from It's Your Day set). Lastly, I adhered the floral image with foam adhesives. Quick and simple! :)

AAA Birthday Design Team!

I have such exciting news to share today! I am joining the AAA Birthday Design Team! Woop woop! I'm so happy to join the wonderful DT, this is going to be so very exciting! Thank you so much, ladies at AAA Birthday, for selecting me!

There's a new blog post up today at AAA Birthday that introduces some of the new DT members (including myself) with our DT cards for the current 'Watercolour' challenge. Below you'll see the card that I made. I think it's a very typical card of mine with a floral image (I love floral images!), watercolouring (perhaps my most favourite method of colouring), the colour pink (one of my fave colours), a frame (I seem to have a tendency to use frames in my cards a lot for some odd reason..), patterned papers (something I can't seem to make a card without), clear sequins (probably my most used embellishment) and leaning towards CAS style. So, in short, it's a very Milla-esque card! :)

And if you're interested in the details of the card, here comes: The stamped image is Mondo Sakura from Ellen Hutson coloured with Altenew watercolours. The frame is die cut with Penny Black dies from the set Stitched Stackers and the sentiment is by Penny Black also (from the set Snippets).

The Flower Challenge #33

We have a new challenge starting over at The Flower Challenge and this time we're focusing on background stamping. And there's a prize to be won too! Deepti Malik, who is our fabulous Guest Designer, will be giving one of her floral stamp sets for the winner.

For my DT card, I used a stamp from Altenew's Golden Garden set which I stamped randomly on white cardstock with Memento Toffee Crunch ink. I then die cut the panel with Penny Black's Swirly Stitches die and also die cut the sentiment with a Winnie & Walter die and adhered it to place. I matted the panel onto darker brown cardstock before adhering it to card base.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge: Guest Designer

I have the absolute honour of being a Guest Designer for Penny Black Saturday Challenge for the month of June, thank you so much for having me! This month the challenge is 'Anything Goes, optional Partial Stamping'. So anything Penny Black goes but if you want a bit of extra challenge, you can go for partial stamping (that is when you use only a part of a stamp in your project, not the whole stamp).

I opted for partial stamping in my card. The stamp I used is Friendship by Penny Black and I only used one of the dogs in my card (you can see the whole stamp used in this card). I stamped the dog and die cut it using the matching die. I then coloured him with my Copics. I wanted him to peek from behind something so I die cut a couple of notepad pages to place in front of him (now I know a dog that size might not actually fit behind notepad pages but just humour me and pretend that he can ;) ). For the notepad pages and the little pin holding them, I used Just a Note dies by Penny Black. The sentiment is from Grateful Sentiments set by Penny Black. I die cut the cork panel with Stitched Nested Frames die as I did the patterned paper from the paper pad Summertime. I then attached everything in place and embellished the card with a couple of chipboard hearts. Oh, and I placed a piece of adhesive foam tape behind the dog's head - that way his head is a bit raised and it looks like he's really peeking from behind the notepad pages!

Minulla on kunnia olla guest designer toisessakin haasteblogissa kesäkuussa, nimittäin Penny Black Saturday Challengessä. Haasteen aihe on aina Anything Goes Penny Blackin tuotteilla, mutta vaihtoehtoisena haasteena on nyt 'partial stamping', jossa leimakuvasta käytetään vain osaa. Itse käytin Penny Blackin Friendship-leimaa, josta leimasin ja stanssasin yhden koiran (koko leimakuvan näet tästä kortista) ja väritin sen Copiceilla. Koiran eteen stanssasin Just a Note -setin stansseilla pari vihkonsivua ja "kiinnitin" ne pienellä neulalla, jonka myös stanssasin saman setin stanssilla. Tekstileima on Grateful Sentiments -setistä. Taustan korkin ja kuviopaperin stanssasin Stitched Nested Frames -setin stansseilla. Kiinnitin kaiken paikalleen ja koristelin kortin parilla sydämellä. Koiran pään kiinnitin kohotarralla, ajattelin, että sillä tavalla koiran saa näyttämään siltä kuin se oikeasti kurkkaisi sivujen takaa.

Harmony - Harmonia

I really enjoyed making this card! The image is gorgeous and I coloured it with my Polychromos pencils - something I really enjoy as it's very slow to do and thus relaxing. The stamp I used is called Harmony by Penny Black, I stamped it with black StazOn ink onto Neenah Desert Storm paper and coloured it with Polychromos coloured pencils. I then stamped the sentiment from Special Sentiments set. I wanted to keep the card very CAS so I didn't add any embellishments.

Värikynillä värittäminen on ihanaa, hidasta ja rentouttavaa, ja halusin värittää niillä pitkästä aikaa. Ajattelin, että tämä Penny Blackin Harmony-leima on juuri sopiva tarkoitukseen, joten leimasin sen korttipohjaan ja väritin Polychromoksilla. Tekstileima on Special Sentiments -setistä. Halusin pitää kortin simppelinä, joten en lisännyt siihen koristeita.

Penny Black Full Bloom - Friendship

I have a friendship card to share that I made with the new products from the new Penny Black release called Full Bloom. This card uses the sweet doggos from the set Friendship that comes with its matching die, Friendship Cut Out. I stamped the image on X-Press It blending card and coloured it with my Copic markers before die cutting it out. I then die cut the light blue panel with a die from the Stitched Nested Frames set before diecutting an opening to it with the Friendship Cut Out die, I thought the light dent that the die makes on the outside of the opening would give a nice shadow kind of mark around the image, giving it a more 3-D look. I stamped the sentiment from the Friendship set onto a banner that I cut from white cardstock and used the cute paper clip from the Just a Note die set to 'adhere' it. I cut a thin strip of patterned paper from the Wintertime paper pad and adhered it to the side of the panel before adhering the panel to the cardbase. I then adhered the coloured image to its place with foam adhesives and added a few splashes of "water" with clear Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Leimakuvan kiinnitin kohotarrapaloilla. Bannerin leikkasin valkoisesta kartongista ja leimasin siihen tekstin samaisesta leimasetistä, bannerin "kiinnitin" klemmarilla, jonka stanssasin Just a Note -stanssisetin stanssilla. Punavalkoraitainen paperi on Wintertime-paperikosta. Lisäsin korttiin muutaman vesipisaran kirkkaalla Nuvo Crystal Dropsilla.

Penny Black Full Bloom: Blushing

I love this gorgeous flower from the new Full Bloom release by Penny Black! It's called Blushing and it comes with a matching die, Blushing Cut Out. I stamped the flower onto X-Press It blending card, coloured it with my Copic markers and die cut it out. I used the sentiment from the Critter Celebration set and heat embossed it in white onto a strip of black cardstock which I embellished with a bit of string tied into a bow. For the background I added a strip of patterned paper from the paper pad Beau Jardins. I also rounded the upper corners with a corner chomper.

CAS(E) This Sketch! #322 - Guest Designer

I have the absolute honour of being the Guest Designer over at CAS(E) This Sketch! challenge this week - thanks for having me, ladies! It's CAS(E) This Sketch! #322 and you can see the sketch below. For my card, I used the stamp Bed of Roses by Winnie & Walter, I coloured it with my Copic markers. The sentiment is from the set Snippets by Penny Black and I heat embossed it in white on a strip of black cardstock. I then adhered it to the panel and the panel onto my card base.

The Flower Challenge #32: Reminder - Muistutus

We are midway through our challenge for the month of May over at The Flower Challenge and I'm here to remind you that you still have time to join in, please do! We are sponsored by the lovely Altenew who have kindly promised a stamp set for our winner - now that's worth playing for, right!? The challenge is to use embossing (either heat or dry) on your floral card.

For my card I chose to use the set Bamboo Rose by Altenew. I heat embossed the flowers with white embossing powder before colouring them with my Altenew watercolours. I also heat embossed my sentiment (it says 'Congrats' in Finnish) on a strip of light grey cardstock. I die cut the panel with a Penny Black die from the set Stitched Stackers and adhered it onto my card base before adhering the sentiment strip and the flowers onto it. I embellished my card with clear sequins.

Penny Black: Happy Birthday! - Hyvää syntymäpäivää!

I love a good floral stamp and this one definitely fits the bill! All those gorgeous blooms are just lovely to colour. The stamp is Rose Garden by Penny Black, I stamped it onto Ranger watercolour cardstock and coloured with my Gansai Tambi watercolours. I cut the card base a bit narrower than the stamped image is and then just fussy cut the flowers that "grow" outside the card base. The sentiment is also by Penny Black, from the set Special Sentiments.

Penny Black Full Bloom: It's Your Day

These cute little critters are from the new stamp set by Penny Black called It's Your Day from the new Full Bloom release, and they come with matching dies (It's Your Day Cut Out)! I am not much of a fussy cutter so matching dies are always good news to me.. ;) I stamped these critters on Fabriano Mixed Media paper and coloured them with my Zig markers before die cutting them. I then die cut the panel with Stitched Nested Frames and masked a rectangle on it before sponging some Distress Oxide ink in Bundled Sage on it. I heat embossed the sentiment from the set Snippets with white embossing powder onto a strip of black cardstock and assembled the card.

Christmas greetings - Joulutervehdys

It's only May and I've made my first Christmas card for this year! That happened mainly because I recently received my new Winnie & Walter stamps, Happy Owlidays, and had to make a card with this cute little bird. I made this by folding a card base out of Copic friendly cardstock and stamping the bird on it. I coloured him with my Copic markers and added little details with white gel pen. Then I masked a square shape behind him and sponged some Distress Oxide ink to it. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment (it says 'Christmas greetings' in Finnish).

Sain hiljattain uudet Winnie & Walter -leimani, Happy Owlidays, ja pakkohan tällä suloisella linnulla oli tehdä kortti :) Taittelin korttipohjan Copiceille tarkoitetusta kartongista, leimasin linnun ja väritin Copiceilla. Taustalle maskasin ja mustetin neliön. Lopuksi leimasin tekstileiman.

The Flower Challenge #32

It's time for the May challenge over at The Flower Challenge and this time we're asking you to emboss! Heat embossing, dry embossing - it's up to you, just please remember to use a floral image on your card. And this time we have a prize for the winner! Altenew has kindly agreed to give our winner a stamp set, hop over to The Flower Challenge blog to see it.

So for my card I used Wallpaper Art set by Altenew. I heat embossed the flower and the leaves in gold, coloured them with Altenew watercolours and die cut them with the matching dies. For the white-on-white background I die cut a rectangle, adhered it to card base, and die cut a thin frame with Altenew's Fine Frames Rectangles die and adhered it to the panel. I stamped my sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) with Delicata gold ink and adhered my leaves and flower (the flower is adhered with foam adhesives for a bit of extra interest).

Here's a photo of the card at an angle so you can see that the embossing is actually gold (it's very tricky to photograph golden embossing...).

Penny Black Full Bloom: Flower Fantasy

I created this one-layer card with a few challenges in mind. To make this, I folded a top-folding card base out of watercolour paper and stamped two different floral stamps from the new set by Penny Black called Flower Fantasy from their most recent release, Full Bloom. I coloured the flowers with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Special Sentiments set.

This stamp is also a firm favourite of mine from the new Penny Black release, Full Bloom. The stamp is called Bunches For You. I stamped it onto watercolour paper with grey Versafine ink and coloured with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours. I die cut the panel with a die from the Stitched Square & Circles set and after that, I stamped my sentiment onto the panel, it's from the Special Sentiments set. I also decided to add a few splatters of black tube watercolour onto my panel as I thought they would go well together with the dots in the stamped image. I cut a piece of patterned paper from the Painted Blooms paper pad, adhered it to my card base and adhered the panel onto it.

Tämäkin leima on yksi suosikeistani Penny Blackin uudessa kokoelmassa Full Bloom. Leiman nimi on Bunches For You, väritin sen Kuretake Gansai Tambi -vesiväreillä. Paneelin stanssasin Stitched Square & Circles -setin isoimmalla stanssilla ja leimasin tekstileiman, joka on Special Sentiments -setistä. Taustan kuviopaperi on Painted Bloom -paperikosta.

Penny Black Full Bloom: Be Happy

I'm sharing a couple of cards I made with new stamps and dies from the new Penny Black release called Full Bloom. These animals are just the best, cute and quirky at the same time! They are from the set Be Happy (30-583). For the first card, I stamped the elephant onto Copic-friendly cardstock, coloured him with my Copics and die cut the panel with a die from the new set called Stitched Nested Frames (51-535). I then stamped the sentiment from the set Family Sentiment (30-555) and adhered the panel to my cardbase. Lastly, I added some enamel dots to embellish my card.

For the second card, I used the giraffe from the same set. I stamped him onto a piece of Copic-friendly cardstock and coloured him with my Copics. I then die cut the frame using the Stitched Nested Frames and added foliage using an older Penny Black die called Fresh Breeze (51-046). Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the set It's Your Day (30-553).

Tein pari  korttia uusilla leimoilla ja stansseilla Penny Blackin uusimmasta Full Bloom -kokoelmasta. Nämä eläimet ovat suosikkejani, ihania ja hassuja samaan aikaan. Molemmat ovat Be Happy -setistä ja Copiceilla väritetyt. Ensimmäisen kortin paneelin ja toisen kortin kehyksen stanssasin uusilla Stitched Nested Frames -stansseilla. Tekstileima ensimmäisessä on setistä Family Sentiment ja toisessa setistä It's Your Day. Toiseen korttiin käytin lisäksi vanhempaa Penny Black -stanssia nimeltään Fresh Breeze.

I made these birthday cards for my eldest son who will soon turn 9. I have to say I don't know by whom these stamps are... I've had the first one for ages and I've forgotten the manufacturer and the second one I bought secondhand so I do not know the manufacturer. But anyway, I coloured both the images with my Copic markers and die cut the panels with MFT dies. For the first card, I die cut the rays behind the boy with a Create a Smile die and the letters and number with Memory Box dies. I placed a piece of patterned paper on the card base and adhered the panel to it. The boy I adhered with foam adhesives. For the second card, I masked the dragon and created the clouds with a mask and some Distress Oxide ink. I die cut the little banner with a Create a Smile die and stamped the sentiment on it (it says 'Congrats!'). I matted the panel onto some light blue cardstock and placed a piece of patterned paper behind it.

Nämä synttärikortit tein vanhimmalle pojalleni, joka täyttää piakkoin 9 vuotta. Leimasinten valmistajia en tiedä, mutta leimakuvat väritin Copiceilla ja paneelit stanssasin MFT:n stansseilla. Ensimmäisen kortin taustalle stanssasin säteet Create a Smilen stanssilla ja kirjaimet ja numerot Memory Boxin stanssilla. Taustalle hieman kuviopaperia. Toiseen korttiin maskasin lohikäärmeen ja mustetin pilvet maskin ja Distress Oxiden kanssa. Bannerin stanssasin Create a Smilen stanssilla ja leimasin siihen tekstin.

Penny Black: Special Friends

I simply love these bunnies from the Special Friends set by Penny Black! They're cute and whimsical at the same time which is just the perfect combination. For the first card, I stamped the bunny on Copic friendly cardstock, coloured it with my Copics and die cut it with the matching die. The banner (coloured with Copics as well), the sentiment, the leaves and the flowers are all from the same Special Friends set. The panel in the background is die cut with the Diamond Cut die out of white cardstock and I adhered a piece of vellum behind it. The patterned paper is from the paper pad Summertime.

For the second card, I stamped and die cut the bunny and then coloured it with my Copics. I did the same with the flower and I also added tiny accents with white gel pen to both the bunny and the flower. I sponged some Distress Oxide ink in Worn Lipstick on the background and die cut the Burlap Edge die out of light brown cardstock and adhered it to my cardbase. The sentiment is from the Happy Snippets set. I also rounded the upper corners of the card with a Corner Chomper.

Nämä Penny Blackin puput Special Friends -setistä ovat mielestäni niin ihania, suloisia mutta ei liian sokerisia. Teinkin niillä kaksi korttia, molemmissa puput on väritetty Copiceilla ja stanssattu irti. Ensimmäisen kortin banneri, tekstileima, lehdet ja kukat ovat  samasta Special Friends -setistä ja taustan ristikko on stanssattu Diamond Cut -stanssilla. Sen taustalle laitoin hieman vellumia ja kuviopaperia Summertime -setistä. Toisen kortin "maa" on stanssattu Burlap Edge -stanssilla, taustalla on hieman Distress Oxide -mustetta ja tekstileima on Happy Snippets -setistä.

Less Is More #393: Guest Designer

I have the absolute honour of being a Guest Designer for the current Less Is More challenge - thank you so much, ladies, for having me! It's a colour challenge this time with the cue words being 'Subtle Colours'. I decided to make a spring time thank you card with subtle spring colours and this is what I created. I used the 'Beautiful Friend' stamp and die by Clearly Besotted Stamps and did my colouring with my Copic Markers. I also added a bit of white gel pen to the image and attached the image with foam adhesives. For the background I simply die cut a circle using circle dies. The sentiment says 'Thank You' in Finnish. I also rounded the upper corners of my card with a Corner Chomper.

Minulla on kunnia olla Guest Designerina Less Is More -haasteessa ja tällä kertaa kyseessä on värihaaste teemalla 'Subtle Colours'. Käytin korttiini Clearly Besottedin Beautiful Friend -leimaa ja -stanssia. Leimakuvan väritin Copiceilla, lisäilin hieman valkoista geelikynää ja kiinnitin sen tarrapaloilla. Taustalle stanssasin ympyrän. Kortin kulmia pyöristin Corner Chomperilla.
