Ei enää pyöriä! - No more bikes!

Veljenpoikani täytti tässä keväällä 15 ja tein hänelle nämä kortit. 15 tarkoittaa mopoikää ja se taas tarkoittaa hyvästejä polkupyörille - siitä lähti ensimmäisen kortin idea! Polkupyörä on DoodleFactoryn leima Copiceilla väritettynä, taustalle stanssasin erinäisistä papereista ympyröitä ja neliön. Lisäksi vain stanssatut numerot ja teksti Lawn Fawnin aakkosilla.

My nephew turned 15 not too long ago and I made him these cards (one for us to give to him and one for his grandparents to give). When you turn 15, you are officially allowed to ride mopeds in Finland (after getting sufficient licenses, etc, of course) and for many that means "no more bikes!" - that's where the idea for this first card came from! The bike is stamped with a DoodleFactory stamp and I coloured it with my Copics and fussy cut it out. Then I die cut a couple of circles and a square to mat under it and just added the die cut numbers and the text (stamped with Lawn Fawn alphabet stamps).

Tähän toiseen korttiin tulikin sitten stanssailtua... Stanssasin nuo bannerit My Favorite Thingsin stansseilla ja niihin aakkoset Memory Boxin aakkosstansseilla, myös numerot stanssasin MB:n stansseilla. Sitten vain kerrostusta kartongeille ja kortti oli valmis. Idea korttiin tuli täältä.

This next card required some die cutting... First I die cut the fishtail banners with My Favorite Things dies and then I die cut the letters with Memory Box's alphabet dies in the banners. Also the numbers are die cut with MB's dies. Then I just layered the cardstocks on top of each other and the card was done! The idea for this card came from here.

Minua pyydettiin tekemään synttärikortti 18 vuotta täyttävälle nuorelle naiselle ja annettiin vielä vapaat kädetkin! Tein tällaiset vaihtoehdot. Ekaan korttiin käytin Paper Smoochesin ihanaa kukkaleimaa Blossoming Buds -setistä, stanssasin sen irti ja väritin Copiceilla. Sitten vain stanssailin ympyrää korttipohjasta ja kuviopapereista, numeroita ja taustan kiekuroita hopeasta ja bannerin vellumista, siihen leimasin tekstileiman. Koristeiksi laitoin muutaman paljetin (nuo kuvassa tummalta näyttävät paljetit ovat oikeasti hopeisia).

I was asked to make a birthday card for a young lady turning 18 and I was given no guidelines as to what the cards should be like - wohoo! I came up with these two cards to choose from. For the first card I stamped and die cut the gorgeous flowers from the Paper Smooches set 'Blossoming Buds' and coloured them with my Copics. Then I just die cut a few circles out of  cardstock and patterned papers, the numbers and the circle loops out of silver glitter paper and the fishtail banner out of vellum. I stamped my sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) on the banner and added a few sequins for embellishment (in the piccie some of the sequins look really dark but they are actually silver).

 Toisen kortin tein vähän "rinsessamaisemmaksi" :) Leimasin siihen Lili of the Valleyn Pom Pom -leiman ja väritin senkin Copiceilla. Lisäsin hameeseen, siipiin ja pallukoihin kirkasta Wink of Stellaa mutta se ei kuvasta taida näkyä. Leimakuvan alareunan stanssasin kaarevaksi ja kiinnitin sen korttipohjaan. Numerot stanssasin taas hopeasta ja lisäsin nauhan rusetille.

The second card is a bit more "princess-y" (if that's a word.. ;) ). I used the sweet 'Pom Pom' by Lili of the Valley and coloured it with my Copics. I added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to her dress and wings but it doesn't really show in the piccie. I then die cut the curve to the stamped image and attached it to the card base. I die cut the numbers out of silver glitter cardstock and added the ribbon and tied it to a bow.

6-vuotiaalle - For our 6-year-old

Blogihiljaisuuteni aikana perheen esikoinen ehti täyttää täydet 6 vuotta ja tein hänelle tällaiset kortit. Ensimmäisen kortin hänelle antoivat isovanhemmat ja toisen kortin me. Leimakuva ensimmäisessä kortissa on Tiddly Inksin My Super Boy -setistä Copiceilla väritettynä. Taustan paperit ovat Echo Parkia ja Simple Storiesia mustalla kartongilla kehystettyinä. Koristeina Memory Boxin stanssilla stanssattu numero 6 ja muutama Kaiser Craftin droplet.

During my recent blog silence, my eldest boy turned 6 and I made him these cards. The first card was given to him by his grandparents and the second by us. The stamped image in the first card is from the Tiddly Inks set 'My Super Boy' and I coloured him with my Copic markers. The patterned papers I used are by Simple Stories and Echo Park, and there's also some black cardstock to spice things up a bit. The number 6 is diecut with a Memory Box die and I added some Kaiser Craft droplets as embellies.

Toisen kortin leimakuvan (Lili of the Valleyn Tree House) väritin Distress Markereilla ja stanssasin Simon Says Stampin ommelreunastanssilla. Taustapaperi on Echo Parkia ja koristeina löytyy stanssattu tagi (WPlus9), stanssattu numero (Memory Box), nyöriä ja muutama enamel drops. Tekstin stanssasin Memory Boxin aakkosstansseilla.

The stamped image on the second card is by Lili of the Valley and it's called 'Tree House'. I coloured it with my Distress Markers and die cut it out with a Simon Says Stamp stitched edge die. The background paper is by Echo Park and as embellies I used a die cut tag (WPlus9 die), a die cut number (a Memory Box die), some twine and a few enamel drops. The text is die cut with Memory Box alphabet dies and it spells out 'Congrats' in Finnish.

Tirpuunen jouluaamuna - A Bird on a Branch

Tällä kertaa joulukorttiin pääsi tuo koivikkoleima PTI:n Through the Trees -setistä. Embossasin sen valkoisella, sudin sinistä Distress Inkiä päälle ja lisäsin tuon tipusen (stanssattu Memory Boxin Resting Birds -stanssilla). Taustan paperit ovat Teresa Collinsin Christmas Cottage -sarjaa ja kaareva reuna on stanssattu Simon Says Stampin stanssilla. Tekstileima on Stempelkelleriä ja embossattu niin ikään valkoisella. Eipä siinä sen kummempia :)

It's another Christmas card, this time with a stamp from the 'Through the Trees' set by Papertrey Ink. I stamped and heat embossed the image and sponged some blue Distress Ink on it, then I added the little bird on the branch (die cut with the Memory Box die 'Resting Birds'). The patterned papers are by Teresa Collins ('Christmas Cottage') and I die cut the curved edge with a Simon Says Stamp die. The sentiment says 'Merry Christmas' in Finnish and it's heat embossed as well. That's about it, nothing too fancy on this card (nothing new there, right? ;) ).

Enkeleitä, enkeleitä - Angels, angels

Ympyräkortti-ihastus jatkuu :) Tällä kertaa tein ympyriäisiä joulukortteja tällä ihanalla Penny Blackin jouluenkelillä (Magic of Christmas). Väritin ne Distress Markereilla ja Zig Clean Color Real Brush -vesivärikynillä, leikkasin irti ja lisäilin siipiin Tattered Angelsin Glimmer Glazea ja seppeleeseen ja mekkoon Liquid Pearls -pisteitä (keskimmäisen kortin enkeliin laitoin sen sijaan kultaista Sticklesiä). Paperit ovat sekalaista seurakuntaa, ensimmäisen kortin sydämet on stanssattu Simon Says Stampin stanssilla (Mini Hearts Set) ja viimeisen kortin linnut taas Memory Boxin stanssilla (Resting Birds). Tekstileima on Stempelkellerin.

I made some shaped Christmas cards with this gorgeous Penny Black stamp ('Magic of Christmas'). I coloured the angels with Distress Markers and Zig Clean Color Real Brush watercolour pens, fussy cut them out and added some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze to their wings and some white Liquid Pearls drops to their headpieces and dresses (for the second card, I replaced the Liquid Pearls with gold Stickles). The tiny hearts on the first one are die cut with a Simon Says Stamp die ('Mini Hearts Set') and the birds on the last one are die cut with a Memory Box die ('Resting Birds'). The sentiment says 'Christmas Peace' in Finnish and is stamped on strips of vellum. The circle dies I used to cut the cardblanks and patterned papers with are by My Favorite Things.

Upotettu stanssaus - Die Cut Inlay

Blogissa on pitänyt pientä hiljaisuutta, mutta kesä ja kuumuus ovat ajaneet kortteilun edelle. Myös askarteluhuoneen muutto vei aikansa mutta on nyt valmis (jee! :D ). Tässä näytille ensimmäinen uudessa askarteluhuoneessa (ent. vaatehuoneessa...) tehty kortti. Olen jo pitemmän aikaa ajatellut kokeilla upotettua stanssausta ja nyt, kun se on P*skarteluhaasteessa aiheena, sain kokeiluni käyntiin. Stanssasin Memory Boxin Arboscello Tree -stanssilla puun valkoiselle kartongille ja samaisen puun violetista kartongista ja istutin sen valkoisen kartongin aukkoon. Sitten vain tekstileimaa (FinnStamper) vellumille ja kiinnitys kohotarralla korttipohjaan. Puuhun laitoin vielä muutaman tirpan istumaan (stanssasin ne Memory Boxin Resting Birds -stanssilla ja laitoin päälle vielä kirkasta Wink of Stellaa). Siinäpä se :)

It's been a bit quiet here on the blog lately but I've been busy enjoying summer and the warmth (or should I say 'heat' as we have +28 degrees in the shade... phew!). Also my craft room move took its time but that is now over, done and finished - I've officially moved my crafty room with all its belongings from one room into another (read: into a walk-in closet :D ). I've had time to craft in my new room as well and I made this card. I've wanted to try the die cut inlay technique for a while now and finally did so (prompted by the current challenge over at P*skarteluhaaste blog). The die I used is called Arboscello Tree and it's by Memory Box as is the Resting Birds die I used to die cut the little birds on the tree (there's some clear Wink of Stella on the birds so they look pretty and glittery :) ). The sentiment on the strip of vellum says 'Best wishes on your birthday'. The textured cardstock is by Papermania and American Crafts. The white panel is raised as it is attached with foam adhesives.

Sheikkaa, sheikkaa! - Shake it!

Askarteluhuoneen siirtämisessä on se hyvä puoli, että siinä tulee samalla käytyä läpi värkkejä ja tarvikkeita. Olen koko siirto-operaation ajan laittanut tavaroita "myydään"-, "roskiin"- ja "hmm..."-pinoihin, ja nämä lumihiutalepaljetit olivat tuossa "hmm..."-pinossa. Ajattelin jo alunperin, että koitan tehdä niistä muutaman shaker-kortin ja nyt, kun Simon Says Stampilla on shaker-haaste, niin rupesin korttia väsäämään. Ongelmaksi meinasi muodostua heti alussa se, että minulla ei ole kohoteippiä, vain kohotarrapaloja ja niistä kortin väsääminen olisi vähän turhan työlästä. Mutta kerrankin välähti ;) ja leikkasin sellofaanipussista (siis sellaisesta, johon valmiit kortit laitetaan, jos ne esim. myy) pienemmän pussin, teippasin leikatut reunat ja sujautin pussiin paljetteja. Sitten vain teippasin pussin tuohon kehykseen kiinni ja kiinnitin kylämaiseman ja taivaan kohotarrapaloilla kehykseen niin, että pussin ja maiseman väliin jäi hieman tilaa. Näin sain tehtyä ihan kelvollisen shaker-kortin vaikkakaan paljetit eivät ylettömästi pääse pussissa liikkumaan, jonkin verran kyllä. Ja ehkä parempi näin, sillä nyt kaikki paljetit eivät makaa pohjalla vaan osa jää "leijumaan" taivaalle. Kuvasta ei ehkä ihan täysin näy, mutta "debossasin" stanssilla tuohon kehykseen reunat "vähän jotain ekstraa" -periaatteella. Kaikki valkoiset kartongit tässä on Papermanian tekstuuripintaista kartonkia, maisema on stanssattu Memory Boxin stanssilla ja tekstileima on Stempelkellerin.

I've been busy moving my craft room from one room to another and while doing that, I've been going through my crafty stuff and purging, purging, purging. Some things are going to be sold, some went straight to the bin and some went to my "hmm..." pile. These snowflake sequins were in my "hmm..." pile and at first I wasn't sure what to do with them but then I thought of shaker cards. And whaddayaknow, Simon Says Stamp has shaker cards as their theme in the Wednesday challenge! So off to crafting I went! :) I don't have any foam tape, I only have those little foam squares and I already thought that I can't do a shaker card, bohoo, but then I had one of those light bulb moments and I thought of sellophane bags. You know, those little clear bags you put your cards into if you're selling them. I took one of those, cut it smaller, taped the cut edges with some washi tape to form a tiny bag and put my sequins into the bag. Then I just taped the bag to the square frame, and attached my die cut scene and the sky with foam squares to the frame, and adhered the whole thing to the card base and I had myself a little shaker card! The sequins move around a bit but not too much which might just be a good thing, this way they don't all lie on the "ground" but I have some snowflakes floating in the air as well. The scene is die cut with a Memory Box die and the square frame is die cut with some Spellbinders dies (I also did some 'debossing' with a square die, I'm not sure if you can really see it in the piccie but there's a debossed line going round the frame), the sky is inked with some Distress Inks. All the white cardstock is textured white cardstock by Papermania and the sentiment wishes 'Peaceful Christmas' in Finnish.

Haasteita - Challenges

Olen aikaisemminkin sanonut, etten ole erityisen hyvä luonnoshaasteissa ja olen edelleenkin sitä mieltä. Minkälaiseen haasteeseen sitten kannattaa näillä lahjoilla osallistua? No, luonnoshaasteeseen tietysti... :D Eli ensimmäistä kertaa (ainakin muistaakseni) mukana CAS(E) this Sketch! -haasteessa ja heti, kun luonnoksen näin, tuli mieleeni "sudinveto"-leimasimet Heron Brush Strokes -setistä. Yhdellä niistä ja Heron Shadow Inkeillä sitten leimailin tämän tekstuuripintaiselle kartongille. Tekstin stanssasin Memory Boxin aakkosstansseilla ja kiinnitin mustan kartongin tekstin taakse. Lisäksi laitoin vielä muutaman paljetin ja niiden kanssa osallistun tällä kortilla myös CASologyn haasteeseen, jossa aiheena 'shine'.


I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm not really good at sketch challenges. And what am I doing now? Well, taking part in a sketch challenge, naturally... Ha ha! :D This is my first time taking part in CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge (at least I think so..) and as soon as I saw the sketch, I thought of the Brush Strokes stamp set by Hero Arts. I think the brush strokes suited the sketch perfectly so I used one of them and some Hero Arts Shadow Inks to stamp the 'blocks' on textured white cardstock. Then I die cut the sentiment (it says 'Congrats!' in Finnish) with Memory Box alphabet dies and attached some black cardstock behind it. As finishing touches, there are some sequins. And as the sequins shine, I'll link this card to the current CASology challenge with the theme 'Shine'.

Vesiväritetyt kukat - Watercoloured flowers

Vielä viimeisiä vesivärikortteja näytille ennen kurssin loppumista... Watercolor for Cardmakersin 11. päivä oli ns. play day ja silloin sai vapaasti tehdä, mitä haluaa, vesiväreillä ja minä (olin vähän tylsä ja) tein ihan perusvesiväritystä. Leimakuva on Penny Blackin ja väritin sen Twinkling H2O -vesiväreillä. Sitten vain hieman kerrostusta, tekstileimaa ja korttipohjaan kiinnitys. Siinäpä se.

I've got a couple more watercolour cards to show you, I'm posting them now just before the class ends. Day 11 of the Watercolor for Cardmakers class was a play day and apart from tutorials we got to do whatever we wanted with watercolours. I chose to (be a bit boring and) do some basic watercolouring of a stamped image. I chose this pretty Penny Black stamp and coloured it with Twinkling H2O watercolours. The sentiment says 'Congrats' in Finnish.

Kukkia - Flowers

Joko alkaa kyllästyttää vesivärikortit? Toivottavasti ei, sillä näitähän riittää... ;D Tämän kortin tein Watercolor for Cardmakers -kurssille Jennifer McGuiren 6.päivän tutoriaalin pohjalta. Leimakuva tässä on Papertrey Inkin Morning Glories, väritys Distress Markereilla. Onnea-leima on osa FinnStamperin tekstileimaa (kokonaisuudessaan siinä lukee Paljon Onnea, mutta leimasin vain tuon lopun siitä), lisänä vähän stanssausta, puolihelmiä ja kartonkia.

Are you bored already with my watercolour cards? Hope not as there are plenty more of these still coming... ;D I made this card for the Watercolor for Cardmakers class using Jennifer McGuire's tutorial on Day 6 for help. I used the 'Morning Glories' stamp by Papertrey Ink as well as a sentiment stamp (it says 'Congrats' in Finnish) on this, the image is coloured with Distress Markers. I did some die cutting for this and used sticky back pearls as embellishments.

Vesivärejä ja innostusta - Watercolours with excitement

Alkuviikosta alkoi Watercolor for Cardmakers -kurssi ja olen aivan innoissani siitä! :) Hyviä vinkkejä, tekniikoita ja aivan mielettömän upeita kortteja koko kurssi pullollaan. Olen jokusen kortin ehtinyt nyt kurssin tekniikoilla tehdä ja tässä niistä ensimmäinen. Tein kortin Jennifer Rzasan tekniikalla ja käytin siinä Ecolineja (nestemäisiä vesivärejä). Stanssatut kuvat ovat Memory Boxin (lintu) ja Penny Blackin (oksa) stansseilla. Lisänä vähän tekstileimaa ja paljetteja.

There's a new Online Card Classes class called 'Watercolor for Cardmakers' going on which I'm taking and I'm so excited about it! :) Such a fab class full of great techniques, tips and tricks and of course, gorgeous cards. I've had some time to make some cards for the class and this is the first one. I made it following Jennifer Rzasa's instructions and used some Ecoline liquid watercolours as my watercolours of choice. The die cut images are cut with a Memory Box die (the bird) and a Penny Black die (the branch). The sentiment says 'Happy birthday' in Finnish.

Teinari - Teen

Taas on aika tehdä synttärikortteja veljenpojille :) Pojista vanhin astuu nyt teini-iän puolelle, joten tein hänelle astetta räyhäkämmän kortin - jotenkin tämä Stampotiquen leimakuva sopii teini-ikäiselle... Leimakuvan nimi on 'Are My Pants Too Tight' ja maskasin sen Penny Blackin tiiliseinäleiman kanssa. Teinarin väritin Inktense-kynillä ja tiiliseinän Gelatoksilla. Teksti on stanssattu Memory Boxin stanssilla, lisänä kortissa on vain muutama musta Enamel Accents -tippa.

As he becomes a teenager, I thought this Stampotique fella is more than suitable for his card :D The stamp is called 'Are My Pants Too Tight' and I masked it with the background stamp by Penny Black ('Brick Wall'). I coloured the fella with Derwent Inktense pencils and the brick wall with some Gelatos. The sentiment (it says 'Congrats teen!' in Finnish) is written with die cut alphabets (Memory Box). There are also a few drops of black Enamel Accents on the wall.

Tyttövauvalle - For a baby girl

Oliko ikävä?! :D Vai huomasitkokaan, että blogini vietti hiljaiseloa? No niin tai näin, täällä ollaan taas. Hiljaiselolle ei ole mitään järisyttävää syytä, kunhan kadotin mojoni totaalisesti, sitä sun tätä sattui ja muut asiat kiinnostivat askartelua enemmän (järkyttävää, eikö? ;) ), mutta nyt taas on innostus hieman palannut, kortteja on syntynyt muutama ja josko niitä saisi nyt tänne blogiinkin asti. Tässä näytille yksi hiljaiselon aikana syntyneistä korteista. Minua pyydettiin tekemään ristiäiskortti tyttövauvalle ja tällainen siitä tuli. Leimakuva on Pysselpassionin 'Agnes döps' Distress Markereilla ja kimalletussilla väritettynä, tekstileima on FinnStamperin . Paperi on Bazzillin ja koristeina hieman pikkuruusuja ja Memory Boxin stanssilla stanssattu oksa. Simppeli kortti mutta toivottavasti oli sekä tilaajalle että saajalle mieluinen.

Did you miss me?! :D Or did you notice at all that I wasn't around? Well, either way, here I am again. There were a few reasons for my silence - I lost my mojo completely (and I mean completely!), there was a bit of life happening, and I simply found other things more exciting than crafting (shocking, I know! ;) ) but now, I'm slowly finding my way back to my craft table and getting hold of my mojo again so who knows, you might just see me around a bit more. Here's one card I made during my absence. I was asked to make a card for a baby girl's christening and this is what I came up with. I used this adorable stamp 'Agnes döps' by Pysselpassion and coloured it with Distress Markers and some clear glitter brush pen. The sentiment says 'For a baby girl' and it is stamped on a strip of vellum. The patterned paper is by Bazzill and as embellishments, there are some tiny roses and a die cut (Memory Box). So, it turned out quite simple (as usual) but I hope the recipient liked it.

Keltaista! - Yellow!

Vuoden 2014 ensimmäinen kortti on tehty! Ja siitä tuli melko... keltainen! :D P*skarteluhaasteen #214 aiheena on värit keltainen-turkoosi-harmaa ja niillä (+mustalla....) syntyi tämä kortti. Leimasin keltaiselle korttipohjalle Hero Artsin Painted Canvas -leimalla ja Hero Artsin keltaisella Shadow Inkillä taustan. Tuohon suorakulmioon leimasin HA Leaf and Floral Background -leimalla ja niinikään keltaisella Shadow Inkillä kuvion ja päälle laitoin vielä keltaista Distress Inkiä (leimasin kuvion valkoiselle kartongille ja valkoinen tuntui jotenkin "huutavan" sieltä, joten ei muuta kuin lisää keltaista ja homma pelitti paremmin :) ). Tirpan stanssasin Memory Boxin stanssilla ja kuorrutin Distress Glitterillä. Lisäksi vielä tekstileima vellumille, ProMarkerilla harmaaksi väritetty chipboard-tähti ja muutama pilkku mustaa Enamel Accentsia koristeeksi ja koko höskä harmaalle kartongille kerrostettuna kiinni korttipohjaan tarrapaloilla.

Here's my first card for 2014 and boy did it turn out quite yellow! :D I made this for P*skarteluhaaste Challenge #214 where the theme is colours yellow-turquoise-grey. I stamped Hero Arts Painted Canvas background stamp onto yellow card base with yellow Hero Arts Shadow Ink. Then I stamped the rectangular cardstock with Hero Arts Leaf and Floral Background stamp and some yellow HA Shadow Ink. The rectangular cardstock was originally white but it didn't look too good (it was a bit 'too' white) so I sponged it with some yellow Distress Ink. I die cut the birdie with a Memory Box die 'Meadow Bird' and coated with Distress Glitter. Then I stamped the sentiment ('congrats' in Finnish) onto some vellum, added a chipboard star coloured grey with a ProMarker and few dots of black Enamel Accents as embellishments and adhered it, mounted onto some grey cardstock, to card base with foam adhesives.

Viimeiset joulukortit - The last of the Christmas cards

Tässä ne luvatut vuoden viimeiset joulukortit. Nämäkin menivät (blogi)kavereille ja tein ne kaikki "samalla kaavalla", vähän vaihtelin värejä ja elementtejä. Kaikissa tuo tausta on leimattu Hero Artsin Tweed Patternilla ja HA Shadow Inkillä ja tagi on värjätty Distress Staineilla. Koristeina löytyy sitten sekalaista seurakuntaa chipboard-kuvioista stanssattuihin lintuihin, en niistä sen kummemmin sepustele (ajan säästämiseksi ;) ), mutta jos kysyttävää on, niin kysy ja kerron kyllä.

Here's my last batch of Christmas cards for this year. I sent these to my (bloggy) friends. They're all basically the same, I simply changed the colours and some of the elements for each card. The background on each is stamped with 'Tweed Pattern' by Hero Arts and HA Shadow Inks and the tag is coloured with Distress Stains. As embellies there are a bit of everything from chipboard shapes to die cut shapes. I won't go into details with them now (to save some time ;) ) but if there's something you want to know, just ask :)

Tirppa ja tagi - A tag and a bird

Eräällä blogiystävällä on näillä paikkeilla marraskuuta synttärit ja lähetin hänelle sitä juhlistamaan kortin ja tämän tagin. Kortti oli  aika lailla kopio eräästä jo tekemästäni kortista, josta synttärisankari oli tykännyt mutta jota minulla ei enää ollut (siksi siis jouduin kopioimaan itseäni :D ), joten en siitä ottanut kuvaa. Menin tässä tagissa mixed media -linjalle, koska aavistelin ystäväisen siitä pitävän. Tähän meni taas aika lailla kaikenlaista gessosta Distress Staineihin, washiteipistä nappiin ja vellumkukista Enamel Accentsiin. Taustassa käytin sabluunoita ja leimasimia ja lintu on stanssattu Memory Boxin stanssilla ja kuorrutettu kohojauheella.

A bloggy friend of mine celebrates her birthday in November and to celebrate, I sent her a birthday card and this tag. For the card I copied myself ;) as my bloggy friend had liked a certain card I had made earlier but as I didn't have that particular card anymore, I was forced to copy myself - so no pictures of the card today as you've already basically seen it! I wanted to create a mixed media tag for this friend of mine as I thought she might like it, so I used the usual suspects for this: gesso, Distress Stains, washi tape, punched vellum flowers, white Enamel Accents, etc. I used a couple of stencil and some rubber stamping, too. The bird is die cut with a Memory Box die and heat embossed with embossing powder.

Pinkkiä lunta - Pink snow

Pienellä muistutuksella mennään taas, eli Korttikarkurin Scrap a Happy Christmas - Christmas Cards Out of Scraps/Old Stash! -haaste on parhaillaan meneillään ja siihen voi osallistua siis jouluaattoon asti. Palkintoakin on luvassa :) Itse käytin tähän korttiin leimakuvaa, jonka sain sössittyä tehdessäni noita edellisen postauksen joulukortteja. Mustetin leimasimen vähän turhan roimalla kädellä ja sain mustetta tuohon lumiosaankin, johon tuli mukava pinkki jälki. Olin jo heittää leimakuvan pois, kun tulin ajatelleeksi tätä haastetta ja päätin yrittää tehdä kortin, jossa saisin tuon ylimääräisen musteen piiloon. Niinpä syntyi sitten ympyränmallinen kortti! :) Lintu on Memory Boxin stanssilla stanssattu ja glitteröity irtoglitterillä, jonka ostin varmaankin reilu vuosi sitten mutta jota olen harvemmin käyttänyt. Vanhoja varastoja siis ja niiden käyttöhän sopii tähän haasteeseen myös :) Lisäksi kortissa on vielä vellumbanneri, johon leimasin Stempelkellerin leimalla tekstin.

I made my card using a stamped image that I meant to use for these Christmas cards. However, I inked my stamp a bit too generously and got pink ink onto to the snow part - not nice at all! I almost threw the image into the bin but in the last minute I remembered this challenge and decided to try and use the image after all. I needed to hide the ink on the snow so I made a round card - now you'd never know there's pink snow hiding underneath the rim of the card! ;) I die cut the little bird with a Memory Box die and added some dry glitter on it (the dry glitter is old stash, I bought it over a year ago and have used it only a couple of times). I stamped the sentiment on a vellum banner, roughly translated it says 'Warm Christmas greetings' in Finnish.

Ensimmäinen joulukortti! - First Christmas card!

Vuoden 2013 ensimmäinen joulukortti tulee tässä! Pikkasen myöhään ehkä aloitan mutta eihän tässä nyt kiire ole eikä tule, ei ei, ei todellakaan... eihän..?! ;D Tämä oli kuitenkin sen verran nopea tehdä, että näitä tulee varmasti tehtyä useampikin. Stanssasin tähän tuon tähtitaivaan Simon Says Stampin stanssilla ja maiseman Memory Boxin stanssilla, maiseman kiinnitin tarrapaloilla hieman koholle. Tekstileima Hero Artsin Cup O' Joe -musteella ja lisäksi hieman leipurinnyöriä.

I have finally made my very first Christmas card for this year! I might be a bit late starting but there's no hurry, is there... ;D This was rather quick to make so I might be doing a few of these to save some time. For this card, I die cut the starry sky with a Simon Says Stamp die and the scenery with a Memory Box die. I attached the scenery with foam adhesives so it's a bit raised from the background. The sentiment says 'It's Christmas Night' in Finnish and it's stamped with Hero Arts' Cup O' Joe ink. Then I just added a bit of baker's twine to the card and it was done! Quick and simple! :)

Tirppaset - Tiny birdies

Pienenpieniä tirppasia tarjolle tällä kertaa :) Ostin Memory Boxin Resting Birds -stanssin hiljattain ja nämä pienet tirpat ovat niin ihania. Pää raksuttaa jo kovasti, mihin kaikkialle näitä voisikaan laittaa mutta aloitetaan nyt tirpat langalla -linjalla. Stanssasin siis nuo linnut tummanruskeasta kartongista (kuvassa tosin näyttää melko mustalta) ja yhden lintusen tuosta pinkistä. Sitten vain laitoin ne mustalle "langalle" ja leimasin tekstin (Papertrey Inkiä) mustalla ja lisäsin viereen pienen ruskealla ProMarkerilla värjätyn chipboard-sydämen. Kaistale pinkkiä kartonkia seuraksi ja siinäpä se. Tätä tehdessäni harmittelin (taas kerran...), kun suomeksi ei niin hurjaa valikoimaa ole noissa tekstileimoissa mutta toisaalta eipä kaikki taida ihan suomeksi kääntyäkään. "Ajattelen sinua, aina" -tekstissä saattaa olla hieman erilainen klangi kuin tuossa englanninkielisessä... ;D

Tiny tiny birds resting, that's what I have for you today. I recently bought the 'Resting Birds' die by Memory Box and I simply love these tiny little birdies, they're so cute. For this card, I placed the birds (die cut out of dark brown cardstock, not black as it may seem on the photo, and one birdie out of pink cardstock) on a little 'wire' and stamped the sentiment (by Papertrey Ink) with black ink. The little heart is a chipboard embellishment, I coloured it with a brown ProMarker. Then there's just a strip of pink cardstock on the side of the card to finish it off.

Kukkasia - Flowers

Papertrey Inkillä jatketaan, tällä kertaa tosin enemmänkin leimaillen. Tein nämä molemmat kortit periaatteessa samalla kaavalla, vähän vain vaihtelin elementtejä ja niistä tulikin vähän "sisaruskortteja". Kukat leimasin ja stanssasin PTI:n Beautiful Blooms II -setin värkeillä, musteena käytin Hero Artsin Shadow Inkejä. Ensimmäiseen korttiin stanssasin taustalle Memory Boxin Piestra Tile -stanssilla boordin ja laitoin värillistä kartonkia taakse. Lisäksi vielä muutama timantti.

I've got a couple of Papertrey Ink creations to show you today. I used kind of same layout for both cards but I just used slightly different elements to change things around a bit, and that's why they look like siblings (at least to me). So I die cut and stamped the flowers with dies and stamps from the PTI 'Beautiful Blooms II' set, the inks I used were Hero Arts Shadow Inks (which I just love, they're amazing with solid stamps). For the first card, I die cut a little border with a Memory Box die 'Piestra Tile' and attached some coloured cardstock behind it. As embellies, there are some rhinestones.

Tähän toiseen leimasin taustan Hero Artsin Zig Zagilla ja HA:n Shadow Inkillä. Lisäksi laitoin pienen palasen kuviopaperia ja jokusen timantin myös.

For the second card, I stamped the background with Hero Arts 'Zig Zag' stamp and HA Shadow Ink. I added some patterned paper as a border and used a few rhinestones as well to bling it up a bit.
