Onnea - Congrats

Tällainen synttärikortti meni 11 vuotta täyttäneelle veljenpojalle. Väritin tuon Doodle Factoryn öttiäisen Copiceilla, leikkasin irti ja laitoin silmät. Taustalle Lawn Fawnin kuviopaperia, MFT:n stanssilla stanssattu kehys ja Lawn Fawnin stanssilla stanssattu tähti. Lopuksi leimasin tekstin.

I made this birthday card for my nephew who turned 11. I coloured the stamped image with my Copics and fussy cut him out. I thought he might need some proper eyes, so glued some googly eyes on him. The patterned paper is by Lawn Fawn, and I die cut the frame with My Favourite Things dies and the star with Lawn Fawn dies. I stamped the sentiment ('Congrats!') straight to the background paper.

Vähänkö oot rakas - Love you lots

Tämä ystävältä leimattu kuva on Concord&9th:n You Are Here -setistä, väritin sen Zigeillä. Tekstileima on Mama Elephantia ja taustan kirjasinleima on My Favorite Thingsin. Paneelin stanssasin Penny Blackin stanssilla. Koristeina taas paljetteja.

I stamped this image while visiting my dear crafty friend, it's from the set 'You Are Here' by Concord&9th. I coloured the image with my Zig Markers. The sentiment comes from Mama Elephant and the background stamp on the card base is by My Favorite Things. I die cut the panel with a Penny Black die. I added a few sequins (again..) as my final touches.

Daaliat - Dahlias

WPlus9-kortti tällä kertaa, leimakuvana Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlia. Väritin sen Zigeillä ja mustetin hieman Distress Oxidea reunoihin. Kehystin kuvan MFT:n stanssilla stanssatulla kuviolla, leimasin tekstin, lisäsin paljetit ja ennen korttipohjaan liimaamista lisäsin taustalle Lawn Fawnin paperia.

I love this stamp, it's 'Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlia' by WPlus9. For this card, I coloured it with my Zig markers and sponged some Distress Oxide ink on the edges. I framed the panel with a die cut (MFT), stamped my sentiment ('To a dear friend' in Finnish) and added some clear sequins. Before adhering the panel to the cardbase, I added some Lawn Fawn patterned paper behind it.

Aurinkoa päivääsi - Sunshine to your day

Vaihteeksi jotain muutakin kuin kukkia... ;) Leimakuvat ovat Clearly Besottedin Bird Bath -setistä, väritys Polychromoksilla. Paneelin mustetin Distress Oxideilla ja roiskin perään "pakolliset" vesitipat. Kehykset stanssasin MFT:n stanssilla ja taustapaperi on Lawn Fawnia, tekstileima Dekoretten.

Well, surprise surprise, I made a non-floral card! ;D The cute birdies and their bath is from the 'Bird Bath' set by Clearly Besotted, I coloured the images with my Polychromos pencils. I sponged some Distress Oxide inks on the panel and die cut a frame for it with an MFT die. The sentiment says 'Sunshine to your day'. The gorgeous background paper is by Lawn Fawn.

Ruusu ja mustikat - Rose and blueberries

Pari korttia Altenew'n Golden Garden -setin leimoilla. Ensimmäisessä pieni ruusu ja toisessa mustikat, molemmat väritetty Zigeillä. Kehykset stanssasin MFT:n stansseilla ja ruusun seuraksi laitoin vielä tekstileiman vellumbannerille, mustikat jätin ilman tekstiä. Koristeiksi paljetteja.

I made a couple of cards using the stamps from Altenew's 'Golden Garden' set. Both the rose and the blueberries are coloured with my Zig markers and both cards have frames die cut with MFT dies. I added a sentiment to the rose card but decided to leave the sentiment out of the blueberry card - sometimes you just need cards without sentiments, don't you? I added some sequins as my only embellishments.

Dinosaurus - Dinosaur

Toinen synttärikortti esikoiselle. Jostain syystä kaikki pojat tuntuvat pitävän dinosauruksista, niin meidänkin 8-vuotias, joten toiseksi kortiksi tuli tällainen dino-aiheinen. Siitä ei tullut ihan sellaista kuin mielessäni ajattelin, mutta saaja tykkäsi, joten kaikki on hyvin :) Dinosaurus on Stampendousin Dino Time -setistä, väritin kuvan Polychromoksilla. Sitten vain stanssailin neliöitä papereista, lisäsin tekstileiman ja numeron. Muutama vesiväriroiske perään ja kortti oli valmis.

Another card for my eldest son. For some reason all boys seem to like dinosaurs and he is no exception so I chose to make a card with a dinosaur. It didn't turn out exactly as I envisioned it but he liked it so I'm happy :) The dinosaur is from the 'Dino Time' set by Stampendous, I coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils. Then I simply die cut the panel and some patterned papers, added my sentiment and the die cut number. Lastly (yes, lastly as it was an afterthought... ;D ) I added a few tiny splatters of watercolour to the panel.

Kahdeksan - Eight

Taas on aika tehdä esikoiselle synttärikortteja. Tähän käytin Lili of the Valleyn Computer Fun -leimaa, väritin kuvan Zigeillä ja stanssasin paneelin irti MFT:n stanssilla. Mustetin paneelin yläosan vihreällä Distress Oxidella, vaikka kuvassa se näyttää paljon keltaisemmalta kuin oikeasti. Banneri on myös MFT:n stanssilla stanssattu, numero taas Memory Boxin stanssilla. Sitten vain taustalle raitapaperia ja nyöri rusetille.

My eldest son is going to have his 8th birthday soon, so it's time to make some birthday cards :) I made this using 'Computer Fun' stamp by Lili of the Valley, I coloured the image with my Zig markers, die cut the panel with an MFT die and sponged some 'Twisted Citron' Distress Oxide to the top half of it (it looks more yellow in the photo than IRL for some reason).  The fishtail banner is also a die by MFT and the number by Memory Box. For the background I simply added a bit of stripy paper, and then tied a bow to the banner.

Tähtiä, tähtiä - Stars, stars

Toinen synttärikortti veljenpojalle, taas tähtiä :) Tähän käytin My Favorite Thingsin Stitched Star Grid -stanssia, jolla stanssasin taustan ommelviivat ja tähdet. Alle leimasin tekstileiman. Tästä tuli melkoisen CAS, mutta toivon, että se ja tummat värit uppoavat teinipoikiin ;)

I made another birthday card for my soon-to-be 17-year-old nephew, again with stars. I used 'Stitched Star Grid' die by My Favorite Things to make it and some black and dark grey cardstock. I die cut the panel with a stitched edge die by MFT and stamped my sentiment ('Congratulations' in Finnish) under the stars. This is probably as CAS as I get but I'm hoping it'll be what a teenage boy likes... ;)

Tähdet - Stars

Vanhin veljenpojistani täyttää pian 17, joten "poikakortille" on taas tarvetta. Mielestäni tähdet toimivat aina pojilla, joten niillä mennään nytkin :) Nämä tähtistanssit ovat My Favorite Thingsin Stars Above -leimoihin kuuluvat stanssit, en ole niitä koskaan irrottanut toisistaan ja sainkin nyt idean, että niitä voisi käyttää taustana. Stanssasin siis taustapaneelin, irrotin tähdet, mustetin ne Distress Oxideilla ja osaan roiskin vähän vettä. Sitten vain paneeli korttipohjaan, tähdet paikalleen ja tekstileima MFT:n stanssilla stanssattuun banneriin. Bannerin taustalle stanssasin vielä tuollaiset ympyrät ja koristeiksi vähän narua ja enamel dotseja.

My eldest nephew will soon be 17, so I needed a birthday card for him. I think stars work for boy cards, so decided to use them. These stars go together with the 'Stars Above' stamp set by My Favorite Things, I've never took them apart from each other so I got the idea of using them for the background. I die cut my white panel with the stars, took the stars out and sponged them with Distress Oxide inks. I even splattered a bit of water on some of them for extra texture. Then I simply adhered my panel to my card base, adhered the stars in place and stamped my sentiment on a strip die cut with an MFT die (it says 'Congrats' in Finnish). I die cut the messy circles and placed them behind the sentiment strip and added a bit of twine and some enamel dots.

Kimput kukkasista - Blossom Bunch

Pari simppeliä korttia samalla leimalla mutta eri väreillä ja väritystekniikalla. Leimakuva tässä on Stampendousin suloinen Blossom Bunch, jonka väritin ensimmäiseen kuvaan Copiceilla. Taustalle hieman mustetta, paneelin stanssaus Penny Blackin Antique Frame -stanssilla ja korttipohjaan kiinni. Teksti on stanssattu Simply Graphicin stanssilla. Keltaiset kukkaset väritin Polychromoksilla. Niillä en ole värittänyt aikoihin, mutta nyt hankin itselleni todella hyvän teroittimen, jolla saa kunnon terävän terän kyniin, joten saattaapa olla, että Polychromoksilla värittäminen taas innostaa enemmän ;) Muuten kortti on samoin tehty kuin ensimmäinenkin, korttipohjaan vain leimasin vielä My Favorite Thingsin Typewriter Text Background -leimalla.

I made a couple of very simple cards but in different colours and using different medium of colouring. The stamped image is 'Blossom Bunch' by Stampendous, love those happy flowers! For the first card, I coloured the image with my Copic Markers and sponged blue ink in the background. I die cut the panel with 'Antique Frame' die by Penny Black and adhered to card base. I die cut the sentiment with a Simply Graphic die. The yellow card is similar but I coloured the image with my Polychromos coloured pencils. I love colouring with them but haven't done that in ages. I just recently bought myself an amazing sharpener that really sharpens the pencils to a good fine point, so I think from now on I may just use the pencils more ;) For the yellow card, I stamped the card base with 'Typewriter Text Background' stamp by My Favorite Things.

Tästä tuli melkoisen trooppisen värinen kortti! :D Alan olla jo niin kyllästynyt tuohon ulkona vallitsevaan valkoisuuteen, että tarvitsen väriä ja kukkia jossain ;) Nämä trooppisen kokonaisuuden kukkaset ovat Simon Says Stampin setistä More Spring Flowers, väritin ne taas Zigeillä ja stanssasin irti. Taustan paneelin mustetin Distress Oxideilla ja kehykset stanssasin taas MFT:n stanssilla. Taustapaperi on Lawn Fawnin, stanssattu niin ikään MFT:n stanssilla.

This turned out to be quite a tropical card! :D I'm getting so sick and tired of this winter that doesn't seem to end (there's still about 40-50 centimetres of snow outside...), and when everything is white outside, I need colour and flowers in my cards at least ;) The flowers in this tropical card are stamped and die cut with the set 'More Spring Flowers' (yes, please! ;) ) by Simon Says Stamp and coloured with my Zig markers. I sponged Distress Oxide inks on the little panel and made a frame for it. The background paper is by Lawn Fawn. Oh, and the sentiment says 'All the Best' in Finnish.

Kihlaparille - On your engagement

Tein kihlakortin varastoon Penny Blackin A Rose -leimalla. Väritin leimakuvan taas Zigeillä ja stanssasin paneelin irti. Kehykset stanssasin MFT:n stanssilla, Dekoretten tekstileiman leimasin vellumbannerille ja koristeeksi laitoin Lawn Fawnin stanssilla stanssatun sydämen. Taustapaperi on Lili of the Valley'n.

I made an engagement card for my stash using the Penny Black stamp 'A Rose'. I coloured the image with my Zig Markers, die cut it with Hero Arts die and added a frame to it (an MFT die). I stamped my sentiment ('To the engaged couple' in Finnish) on a vellum banner and added a single heart (a Lawn Fawn die) as embellishment. The patterned paper is by Lili of the Valley.

Pieniä kukkia - Tiny flowers

Joskus tuntuu, että kortit tekevät itse itsensä. Niin ainakin kävi näiden korttien kanssa :) Minua laiskotti enkä halunnut hurjan paljoa värittää, joten nappasin pienen leimakuvan, tässä tapauksessa tuon Waffle Flowerin kukkakärryn ja väritin sen Zigeillä. Taustalle laitoin palasen kartonkia, jonka mustetin Distress Oxideilla ja roiskin vähän vettä perään. Kartongille tein kehykset stanssaamalla MFT:n stanssilla valkoisesta kartongista piparkakkureunuksen. Taustalle hieman Lawn Fawnin ihanaa ruutupaperia ja siihen tekstileima. Koristeeksi muutama enamel dotsi. Ja koska ensimmäinen kortti oli niin nopea, tein toisen perään :D Toiseen korttiin käytin Paper Smoochesin kukkia mutta muuten menin samalla kaavalla.

Sometimes it feels like cards make themselves. That's what happened with these cards :) I was feeling lazy and didn't want to colour too much but still wanted to make something, so I grabbed this flower cart by Waffle Flower and coloured it with my Zig Markers. For the background, I sponged some blue Distress Oxide ink on a piece of cardstock and added a few splatters of water to it. I made a frame for it by die cutting white cardstock with an MFT die. For the background, I used some gorgeous gingham patterned paper by Lawn Fawn and stamped my sentiment ('Birthday Wishes'). As embellishments, I used some enamel dots. And as the first card was so quick to make, I made a second one while I was at it :D This time I just used the sweet flowers by Paper Smooches but otherwise kept the card similar.

Valoisampia päiviä - Brighter days

Tällainen kortti syntyi Penny Blackin ja Altenew'n leimoilla. Kukkaset ja tekstileima ovat Penny Blackin Pretty Petals -setistä, taustan pallukka on Altenew'n Halftone Circles -setistä. Kukkaset väritin Zigeillä, paneelin stanssasin MFT:n stanssilla ja koristeeksi vain hieman nyöriä.

I made this card for a few challenges using Penny Black and Altenew stamps. The flowers and the sentiment are from the 'Pretty Petals' set by Penny Black and the yellow circle in the background is a stamp from the 'Halftone Circles' set by Altenew. I coloured the flowers with my Zig markers, die cut the panel with an MFT die and added a bit of twine as embellishment.

Tähän synttärikorttiin käytin leimoja kahdesta Winnie&Walterin setistä, Elsa's Florasta ja Addie's Gardenista. Maskasin kukat ja lehdet kartongille ja väritin Zigeillä. Tekstin leimailin Concord&9thin Perfectly Penned -setin aakkosilla. Stanssasin paneelin MFT:n stanssilla ja kiinnitin korttipohjaan. Lopuksi vain vähän nyöriä rusetille.

I combined two Winnie&Walter sets to make this birthday card, namely 'Elsa's Flora' and 'Addie's Garden'. I masked the flowers an the leaves to my panel which I had die cut with an MFT die. I did my colouring once again with my Zig Markers. The sentiment ('Congrats!' in Finnish) is stamped with the Concord&9th alphabet set 'Perfectly Penned'. I then attached my panel to the card base and added a bit of string in a bow.

Narsissit - Daffodils

How about a spring bouquet? :) The flowers in this bouquet are stamped and die cut with the 'Friendship Blooms' stamps and dies by Simon Says Stamp and coloured with my Zig Markers. The frame is die cut with an MFT die, the background paper is by Lawn Fawn and the sentiment, stamped on a banner die cut with an MFT die as well, says 'Congrats' in Finnish.

Kukkaset - Flowers

Synttärikorttia Winnie & Walterin ihanilla kukilla, nämä on In Bloom -sarjan setistä Anna's Flora. Maskailin kukat ja lehdet ja väritin ne Zigeillä. Tekstin leimasin irtoaakkosilla, jotka ovat tulleet jonkun askartelulehden mukana. Lopuksi vain muutama paljetti ja korttipohjaan kiinni.

I made a birthday card with these gorgeous flowers by Winnie & Walter, they're from the set 'In Bloom: Anna's Flora'. I masked the flowers and the leaves and coloured them with my Zig Markers. I love how you can layer Zigs on top of each other, I used only pink on the middle flower but then layered yellow and orange for the yellow flower and purple and pink on the purple one and think they turned out nice :) I spelled my sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) with some alphabet stamps I got free with a crafting magazine I once bought and added some sequins before attaching it to the cardbase.

Perhonen - Butterfly

Tämän kortin tein kahteen haasteeseen: Time Out Challengesissä on synttärit ja DT käyttää Concord & 9th:n tuotteita ja Where Creativity Meets C9 -haasteessa on luonnos. Stanssasin harmaalle kartongille nuo viivat My Favorite Thingsin Stitched Strip -stanssilla. Sen päälle kiinnitin perhosen (Concord & 9th:n Floral and Flutter -stanssilla stanssattu) ja perhosen massuun timantin. Tekstin muodostin Concord & 9:n Perfectly Penned -setin aakkosilla. Sitten vain kiinnitys valkoiseen korttipohjaan.

I made this card specifically for two challenges: Time Out Challenges is celebrating their 4th birthday and using Concord & 9th products to do it and at Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge there is a sketch (see the challenge graphic below). So I die cut a piece of grey cardstock and then die cut the stitched lines across it with My Favorite Things' 'Stitched Strip' die. I die cut the butterfly with the Concord & 9th die 'Floral and Flutter' and attached it. I even added a rhinestone to its belly :) The sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) is spelled with alphabets from the 'Perfectly Penned' set by Concord & 9th. I used white cardbase to retain the light and airy feel of the card.

Leikkokukkia - Freshly Cut

Tein tämän synttärikortin Penny Blackin Freshly Cut -leimalla. Väritin itse kukat Distress Oxide -musteilla (lehdet ja maljakon tavallisilla Distresseillä) ja tykkään kovasti niiden antamasta pehmeästä jäljestä. Kortti itsessään on melko simppeli, stanssasin vain tuon paneelin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja leimasin Dekoretten leimalla tekstin. Sitten vain kiinnitys korttipohjaan.

I made this birthday card using the Penny Black stamp 'Freshly Cut'. I coloured the flower heads with Distress Oxide inks (the leaves and the vase with regular Distress Inks) and I really like the soft, chalky finish the inks give. The stamped image is so gorgeous that I didn't really want to add much to the card so I simply die cut the panel with My Favorite Things die and stamped the sentiment ('This is your day' in Finnish) before attaching the panel to the card base.

Orvokit - Pansies

Tämän syntymäpäiväkortin tein äidilleni. Äitini pitää orvokeista, joten valitsin leimakuvaksi orvokit Clearly Besottedin Pretty Pansies -setistä. Väritin ne Zigeillä. Korttipohjan leimasin MFT:n taustaleimalla Typewriter Text Background ja siihen päälle laitoin paneelin, jonka stanssasin MFT:n stanssilla. Siihen vain tekstileima, muutama kultaroiske ja paljetit. Lopuksi vielä kulmien pyöristys.

I made this birthday card for my Mum. My Mum loves pansies so I chose to use this image from the 'Pretty Pansies' set by Clearly Besotted. I coloured it with my Zig markers. I stamped the cardbase with 'Typewriter Text Background' stamp by MFT and added a panel to it, die cut with an MFT die. I stamped my sentiment ("Happy Birthday" in Finnish) on the panel, added some splatters with gold spray and a watercolour brush and added some sequins. Lastly, I rounded the bottom corners of the card.
