Koululaiselle - For a school boy

Nuorin veljenpojistani aloitti tänä syksynä koulun ja sen kunniaksi muistimme häntä pienellä koulunaloittajaispaketilla. Paketin kylkeen tein tällaisen pienen tagin jämäpapereilla, Papertrey Inkin stanssilla, Dr Ninan leimakuvalla (väritys ProMarkereilla) ja Paper Smoochesin aakkosleimoilla. Lisäksi muutama enamel dots ja pienellä nitojalla kiinnitetty nauha.

The youngest of my nephews started school this autumn (oh how time flies...!) and to mark the occasion, we gave him a small present and I made this tag to go with it. I used some leftover patterned papers, a cute stamped image coloured with ProMarkers, some Paper Smooches alphabet stamps, and a Papertrey Ink die to make it. As finishing touches there are some enamel dots and some ribbon attached with a Tiny Attacher.

Kutsu - Invitation

Sain pyynnön tehdä kutsukortit pienen pojan ristiäisiin ja tulevien juhlien sankarin äidin kanssa päädyimme tällä mallilla toteutettaviin kutsuihin. Väritoiveista tärkein taisi olla vauvansinisen välttäminen, mikä passasi minulle varsin hyvin :) Päädyin lopulta alla oleviin kolmeen väri"settiin" ja tein yhdestä värisetistä aina useamman kortin. Stanssasin näihin kaikki ympyrät My Favorite Thingsin stansseilla ja pienet sydämet Simon Says Stampin stanssilla. Leimakuva on DoodleFactorya Distress Markereilla ja Inkeillä väritettyinä. Kutsu-sanan leimasin Paper Smoochesin Alphadot-aakkosilla ja embossasin ruskealla. Sekä leimakuva että tuo 'banneri' on kiinnitetty hieman koholle tarrapaloilla. Sydämiä korostamaan lisäsin valkoista enamel accentsia.

I was asked to make invitations for a christening of a little baby boy and after pondering it for a while, the baby's mother and I decided on me making the cards similar to these. As for colours, the main thing was to avoid baby blue which suited me fine :) I chose the sets of colours you see in the piccies and made a few cards from each set. I die cut all the circles with My Favorite Things dies and the hearts with a Simon Says Stamp die. The stamped image is by DoodleFactory, I coloured them with Distress Markers and Inks and fussy cut them. I stamped the word 'kutsu' (meaning 'invitation' in Finnish) with Paper Smooches Alphadot stamps and heat embossed with brown powder. I attached the stamped image and the banners with foam adhesives so they're a bit raised from the cardbase. As a final touch, I added a bit of white Enamel Accents to the hearts.

Taas Hero Artsin ihania sutaisuja korttiin :) Tällä kertaa tarvitsimme synttärikorttia 16 vuotta täyttävälle nuorelle miehelle ja jotenkin nämä sudinvedot sopivat mielestäni niin hyvin nuorten miesten kortteihin. Hain tähän inspiraatiota Shari Carrollin kollaasityyppisistä leimailuista mutta voi vain sanoa, että en tosiaankaan ole Shari Carroll... ;) Leimasimina siis oli Brush Strokes -setin leimasimia ja musteina Hero Artsin Shadow Inkejä (Pool, Soft Pool, Tide Pool, Wet Granite ja Cup o' Joe). Numerot leimasin Paper Smoochesin Alphadot -setin numeroilla.

More lovely brush strokes by Hero Arts :) This time we needed a birthday card for a young man turning 16 and somehow these different brush strokes and marks suit masculine cards well. I was inspired by Shari Carroll's collage style of stamping when I made this but let's just say that I ain't no Shari Carroll... ;) But anyways, the stamps I used are from the Brush Strokes set and the inks are Hero Arts Shadow Inks (Pool, Soft Pool, Tide Pool, Wet Granite and Cup o' Joe). The numbers I stamped with the number stamps from the Alphadot set by Paper Smooches.
