The Sugar Bowl Challenge #16

Sugar Bowl -haasteessa on tällä kertaa Marlenen luonnos ja lisähaasteena on piirrustelu. Kiitos hienosta luonnoksesta ja haasteesta! :) Leimakuvana on Leanne Ellisin Sugar Nellielle suunnittelema suloinen Moon Beams, jonka leikkasin irti ja kiinnitin scrapper's flossilla - näin leimakuva pääsee vapaasti liikkumaan, kun korttia liikuttaa. Paperit ovat BasicGreytä taas vaihteeksi ;) uutta ihanaa Lemonade-sarjaa. Lisänä nauhoja, nappeja ja metallikoriste. Jätin tietoisesti kortista pois luonnoksessa olleen tekstin ja korvasin sen noilla napeilla, joten hieman kiersin luonnosta taas tällä kertaa.

This time Marlene has made the sketch for the Sugar Bowl challenge and the added challenge is doodling. Thank you for the great sketch and challenge! :) The stamped image is the lovely Moon Beams by Leanne Ellis for Sugar Nellie. I cut the image out and attached it to the card with some scrapper's floss - this way the stamped image can move freely when the card is moved. The papers are by BasicGrey for a change ;) Lemonade is the wonderful new series called. I also added some ribbons, buttons and a metal charm. I slightly deviated from the sketch as I left the sentiment out and replaced it with the buttons.

Näin arkena en pääse kortteja kuvaamaan ennen kuin illalla, joten kuvissa alkaa näkyä varjot, jotka hieman kyllä jo haittaavat kuvassa mutta minkäs teet. Pahoittelut niistä!

During the working week I have to photograph my cards during the evenings and this results in some shadows in the piccies. They don't really look nice but what can you do - sorry 'bout them!

The Sugar Bowl Challenge #15

On taas aika osallistua Sugar Bowl -haasteeseen. Luonnoksen on tehnyt Gayle ja lisähaasteena tällä kertaa on nauhojen ja/tai rusettien käyttö. Tämänkertainen luonnos on kauniin yksinkertainen, kiitos siitä! Tulen varmasti käyttämään sitä uudelleen.

It's time again for another Sugar Bowl Challenge. This time the sketch is by Gayle and the 'please include' option is the use of ribbons and/or bows. I liked this sketch, it was simple yet beautiful, thank you Gayle! I'm sure I'll use it in the future as well.

Leimakuva on Leanne Ellisin suunnittelema Sugar Nellie -leimasin nimeltään Blossom. Kuvasta ei varmaankaan näy, mutta Annien hame on leimattu keltaiselle mulperipaperille, leikattu ääriviivoja myöten irti ja liimattu paikalleen. Siitä tuli mukava kosketuspinta korttiin :) Paperit ovat October Afternoonin ihanaa Cherry Hill -sarjaa, nauha varastojen syövereistä ja korupiikit itse tehty. Tekstileimasin on Finnstamperin. Käänsin tuota haasteen luonnosta hieman ja korvasin tuon yhden "palkin" nauhalla, joten ihan yksi yhteen ei tällä kertaa menty.

The stamp I used is a Leanne Ellis design for Sugar Nellie and called Blossom. You probably cannot see it in the piccie, but I stamped Annie's skirt on yellow mulberry paper, cut it out and glued it on. The papers are October Afternoon's wonderful Cherry Hill -series, the ribbon is from my stash and the pins I made myself. The text says "For a friend". I deviated from the sketch ever so lightly as I twisted it around a bit and replaced the element that's on the left hand's side in the original sketch with the ribbon. Hope it's ok! :)

Jehkotar CardChallenge #65

Tässä taas kortti Jehkotar CardChallengeen. Luonnoksen on tällä kertaa tehnyt Elinarsku - kiitos loistavasta luonnoksesta, taas löytyi haastetta!

This is my card for the Jehkotar CardChallenge. Elinarsku is the lady behind the sketch this time - thanks for the super sketch!

Sovelsin Elinarskun luonnosta hieman, sillä en saanut kaikkea mahtumaan neliökorttipohjaan eikä minulla ollut tähän haasteeseen paremmin sopivaa pitkulaista korttipohjaa. Leimasin on taas ihanaista Sugar Nellietä, Leanne Ellisin Dreamer. Paperi on BasicGreyn LilyKatea (paperissa oleva kukkaoksa osui sopivasti luonnoksen kiekuran kohtaan!), nauha We R Memory Keepersiä, kukka ja dew dropsit on varastojen kätköistä. Kovin vaaleaa tällä kertaa, mutta käyhän se vaihtelusta.

I couldn't follow Elinarsku's sketch completely because I couldn't fit every element in my card - a square card blank isn't the best choice for this sketch but it was the only one I could use at that moment. The rubber stamp is once again by the ever so lovely Sugar Nellie, Dreamer by Leanne Ellis. The paper is LilyKate by BasicGrey (the flowery branch in the paper fitted the sketch perfectly!), the ribbon is by We R Memory Keepers and the flower and the dew drops are from my stash. The card became very light and airy this time but I think it's ok for a change.

Ja kuten kuvasta huomaa, opin hiukan leikkimään kuvankäsittelyohjelmalla! Sain jopa lisättyä nimeni alareunaan - sen jälkeen olenkin ollut rinta rottingilla...! ;)

And as you can see in the piccie, I have learnt to play with the photo editing programme! I even managed to add my name to the piccie - what a proud moment it was...! ;)

The Sugar Bowl Challenge #14

Osallistun jo toistamiseen Sugar Bowliin (tästähän tulee tapa! ;) ). Tämänkertaisen luonnoksen on tehnyt Judy ja lisähaasteena tällä kertaa on kimalluksen käyttö - voiko parempaa lisähaastetta olla?! :) Leimakuvana käytin Leanne Ellisin Sugar Nellielle suunnittelemaa Poise-leimaa (ihana, ihana, ihana!) ja papereina October Afternoonin kertakaikkisen herkullista Cherry Hill -sarjaa. Kimalteena on Glimmer Mistiä kukissa (ja arvaa vain, näkyykö se kuvista...), Glossy Accentia leimakuvan kukissa ja kirkkaita ja pinkkejä dew dropseja. Kiitos Judylle aivan ihanasta luonnoksesta!

This is my second time taking part in the Sugar Bowl Challenge (what a sweet habit this is becoming! ;) ). This time the sketch is by Judy and the please include option is sparkle - this must be the best please include option there is! :) The stamp I used is Poise by Leanne Ellis for Sugar Nellie (love it, love it, love it!) and the lovely, lovely papers are October Afternoon's Cherry Hill series. As sparkle I used Glimmer Mist in the flowers (although, once again I'm not sure you can see it in the piccies...), Glossy Accent in the flowers of the stamped image and clear and pink dew drops. The text says 'Congrats'. Thank you, Judy, for this absolutely wonderful sketch, I loved it!

1 1/7 + Jehkotar CardChallenge #63

Blogini on tänään viikon ja yhden päivän vanha - siitä siis tuo 1 1/7! :) Tuntuu uskomattomalta, että tässä ajassa blogissani on vieraillut jo 80 ihmistä, kiitos teille ajastanne! Olen todella kiitollinen jokaisesta vierailusta ja jokaisesta kommentista ja toivon, että uusien ihmisten lisäksi jo kerran vierailleet löytävät tiensä tänne takaisin uudemman kerran. Olette tervetulleita! :)

My blog is a week and a day old today - that's what 1 1/7 in the heading means! It's unbelievable that 80 people have visited my blog during this time, thank you all so much for your time! I am truly grateful for each and every visitor and for each and every comment and I hope that new visitors as well as those who have already visited me once find their way here again some day. You are the most welcome! :)

Osallistun nyt ensimmäistä kertaa Jehkotar CardChallengeen, johon luonnoksen on tällä kertaa tehnyt Tintti. Aluksi tämä luonnos tuntui hankalahkolta useiden eri koristeiden takia, mutta lopulta sain aikaan kortin, joka miellyttää ainakin omaa silmääni :) Leimakuva on taas kerran Sugar Nellietä (Leanne Ellisin Fly free) ja paperit BasicGreytä (tuntuuko tämä yhdistelmä tutulta...? Alanko toistaa itseäni...? ;-D ). Leimakuvan reunoille sipaisin hieman Distress Inkin Tea Dyetä, joka toi kivasti vanhahtavaa fiilistä siihen. Pitsi on mummon varastoista ja alareunan ihanat napit puolestaan äidin varastoista. Yläosan nauha on BasicGreyn Obscure-setistä, napit Woodwarelta, Trust-lappunen Tim Holzilta ja klemmari ihan vain pöydältä pyörimästä :) Sivuille en saanut enää mahtumaan tekstiä, joten siinä poikkesin luonnoksesta. Kiitos Tintille ihanasta luonnoksesta, tuntui mukavalta haastaa itseään koristeiden käytössä.

This is the first time that I join the Jehkotar CardChallenge and this time the sketch is by Tintti. At first it felt like I just couldn't do this, there were too many embellishments for me, but after a while I managed to make a card that I am quite pleased with. I used a Sugar Nellie stamp again (this time Fly free by Leanne Ellis) and the papers are by BasicGrey (do you see a pattern here..? Am I getting into a rut...? ;-D ). I added som Distress Ink (Tea dye) to the edges of the stamped image which gives somewhat oldish feeling to it, I think. I got the lace from my granny and the buttons at the bottom of the card from my mum. The pink ribbon is by BasicGrey, the buttons at the top of the card are by Woodware, the ticket is by the lovely Tim Holz and the paper clip was just floating around my desk! :) I couldn't fit any text at the sides of the stamped image as was hoped for in the sketch. Thank you, Tintti, for this super sketch, I really enjoyed challenging myself with the use of embellishments.

For some reason it looks like the pink ribbon is not straight in the picture, but it actually is, believe me.)

Tänään on kesälomani toinen päivä (vai lasketaanko kesäloma alkavaksi vasta maanantaista?), edessä on kokonaiset neljä viikkoa vapaata! :D Ilma on mitä mahtavin, varjossa lämmintä on +23, aurinko paistaa kirkkaalta taivaalta, linnut laulavat ja mihinkään ei ole kiire - tähänhän voisi jopa tottua...! :) Nautitaan kaikki kesästä, oli lomaa tai ei!

Today is the second day of my summer hols and I have four whole weeks of freedom ahead of me! Yay! :D The weather is the most amazing, it's +23 degrees in the shade, the sun is shining from the clear blue sky, the birds are singing and I don't have to hurry anywhere or anything - I think I could get used to this...! :) I wish you all a great summer, enjoy it!

Pinkkiä Sokeria - Pink Sugar

Tässä tämän illan kortti, taas sokeria Leanne Ellisin/Sugar Nellien voimin :) Leimasin on valloittava Pick me, jonka tunnelmasta pidän kovasti (mitähän tuo tyttö miettii..?), lisäksi hieman tummanruskeaa ja pinkkiä kartonkia ja Chatter Boxin ruusupaperia. Ja pitihän korttiin laittaa myös hieman pinkkiä blingiä ;) eli KaiserCraftin tarratimangeja ja itsetehty korupiikki.

This is what I was keeping myselft busy with tonight - more sweet sugar with a Leanne Ellis/Sugar Nellie stamp! This one is called Pick me and I so love it (I wonder what she is thinking about..?)! I matched some pink and dark brown cardstock and a floral Chatter Box paper together and added some much needed pink bling to it in the form of KaiserCraft rhinestones and a selfmade pin (is that the right word for it??).

Koska korttipohja on kovasti tummanruskea, koristelin myös kortin sisäpuolen pinkillä kartongilla ja tuosta Chatter Boxin paperista leikatuilla ruusuilla.

I also decorated the inside with some pink cardstock and a few roses cut from the Chatter Box paper.


Ja nyt "sokerihumalaisena" ;) on hyvä suunnata kohti petiä. Hyvää yötä!

The Sugar Bowl # 13

Osallistun tällä kortilla Sugar Bowlin haasteeseen numero 13. Kyseessä on Lilianin ihana luonnos ja tällä kertaa kortissa pitää käyttää myös kraft-väriä (lienee suomeksi voimapaperi? eli sellainen ruskea) tai jos sitä ei saa, niin sitten ruskean ja kerman sävyjä. Tässä kortissa siis Sugar Nellie -leimasin Journey ja väreinä löytyy sinistä, "kraftia" ja hivenen valkoista.

This is my first ever time playing the Sugar Bowl (wohoo!). The challenge number 13 is Lilian's wonderful sketch and the 'please include' option is to use the colour 'kraft'. My card features the Sugar Nellie stamp Journey and the colours used are kraft, blue and a little bit of white. Thank you for the sketch, it was great fun!

Avajaiset! - Grand opening!

Tästä se sitten alkaa, bloggaus! Kauan olen tätä tuumaillut ja muiden blogeja ihaillut ja nyt päätin sitten itsekin kokeilla. Ajatuksena on siis blogata väkerryksistäni askartelun saralla, enimmäkseen korteista mutta kukapa tietää, mitä muuta sitä joskus innostuu tekemään.

So this is it, my big leap into the world of blogging! I've thought about this for some time now and visited all the wonderful blogs out there and finally I found the courage to start a blog of my own. Mostly I'll be sharing with you my cards but who knows what else I'll blog about when I get going!

This simple little card is made using the Hero Arts' stamp Three ferns inked with the Distress Ink's Peeled paint and Tea dye.

This puzzled looking fella is DoodleFactory's Frozey, all the stamps used in this card are from Doodle Factory. I've coloured the images with ProMarkers. 'Onnea' means 'Congrats'.

Last but most definitely not the least: two cards made using the Sugar Nellie stamps designed by the lovely Leanne Ellis. The first stamp is called Catch a falling star and the second Day dreamer.
