Onnea Paperilohikäärme!

BINGO! Eiku.. ONNEA! :D Paperilohikäärme tulee taaperoikään ja juhlii merkkipäiväänsä bingo-haasteen muodossa. Valitsin ruudukosta omaksi rivikseni suihke-1-tulevaisuus ja tein niillä tämän tagin. Tausta tässä on (yllättäen... ;) ) lempiväreissä ja tehty suihkeilla (Dylusions ja Crafty Notions) sekä suihkien että valuttaen. Myös vettä suihkin hieman sabluunan läpi. Tulevaisuus tässä lienee näkyvillä, eli vuosi 2014 on vielä suurelta osin tulevaisuutta (ja siitä tulee mahtavaa, tietysti :) ). Tuo ykkönen sitten, eli vapaavalintainen bingo-ruutu, on minulla "aineet eli mömmöt"  ja tarkoittaa tässä tagissa tekstuuripastaa, helmiainetta (glass bead gel), gessoa ja multi-mediumia, eli kaikkea sitä, mitä kiva laittaa vähän sinne sun tänne :) Tuo iloinen heppunen on Stampotiquen Daniel's Tree Topper Twinkling H2O:illa ja Ecolinella väritettynä, sydämessä on hieman Glossy Accentsia ja muutama hippu Distress Glitteriä. "2014" ja "amazing" on leimattu 7Gypsiesin leimoilla, päällä on hieman Zig Wink of Stella -kimalletussia, loppuosa tekstistä on leimattu Artemion aakkosilla. Mustat pilkut on Enamel Accentsia. Ja siinä se, tagini Paperilohikäärmeen synttäribingoon. Onnea, Paperilohikäärme! :)

BINGO! No, I mean CONGRATS! :D The Finnish craft shop Paperilohikäärme is celebrating its very first birthday with a 'bingo' challenge. I wanted to celebrate, too, so I decided to make this tag with a bingo line of 'mists/sprays-1-future'. Now let me explain... The background is in my favourite colours (naturally ;) ) and made with ink sprays (Dylusions and Crafty Notions), I also misted some water through a stencil to make tiny ghosty dots. So that's the mists/sprays part. The future part here is the year 2014 which will be amazing, of course :) The number 1 in the bingo line is 'joker' and you can choose what you want it to represent. In my tag it's 'media': I used modeling paste, glass bead gel, gesso and multi-medium for this. The stamped and fussy cut image is 'Daniel's Tree Topper' by Stampotique (isn't he adorable? So joyous!), I coloured him with Twinkling H2O's and Ecoline and there's some Glossy Accents and few chips of Distress Glitter in the heart. I stamped (with 7Gypsies stamps) and fussy cut '2014' and 'amazing' and added some Zig Wink of Stella glitter pen on top of them, the rest of the sentiment is stamped with Artemio alphabets. The black dots are made with Enamel Accents. And there you go, my little tag. Congrats, Paperilohikäärme! :)

Edittiä sen verran, että otin ja luin tuon haasteen uudemman kerran ja ykkösen pitäisi siis tarkoittaa "mitä tahansa yhtä asiaa". Hmm, 'aineet' taitaa olla vähän liian monikko..? Jos näin on ja mikäli saa vaihtaa (saahan, saahan?!?), niin onhan tuossa yksi väritetty leimakuva. Toivottavasti tagi kelpaa silti karkeloihin mukaan! :)

Ja nyt sitten vähän jotain erilaista jouluista... ;D Kotiutin tuossa joku aika sitten muutaman uuden Stampotique-leiman (pitäähän sitä nyt yhdistetty synttäri- ja joululahja itselle olla.. ;D ) ja käytin tässä niistä yhtä. Tämä Ystävä ('Friend') on jotenkin niiiin suloinen, että en voinut sitä vastustaa vaan annoin sille kodin ja nyt Ystävä hengailee askartelupöydälläni ja pitää minulle seuraa ;) Taustan tähän tein erinäisillä aineilla, siinä on akryylimaaleja, gelatoksia (lisää synttäri- ja joululahjaa itselle... ;D ), tekstuuripastaa, mustesuihkeita, NeoColor II:a, sabluunoita (Prima ja Tim Holtz), leimoja (Tim Holtz, Artemio ja Stampotique), Distress Staineja jne. Lopputulos on tuollainen... hmmm... vähän erilainen jouluinen, eikö? :D

And now something a bit different... A few days ago I got myself some new Stampotique stamps (you have to get yourself a combined birthday and Christmas present, don't you? ;D ) and I used one of them for this tag. As soon as I saw this 'Friend', I was in love! Isn't he so adorable?! There's something about him that just stole my heart :) He now lives on my craft table and keeps me company while I craft ;) The background for my Friend is made with all sorts of stuff: gesso, acrylic paints, modeling paste, some gelatos (another birthday/Christmas present for myself... ;D ), ink spray, NeoColor II crayons, stencils (both Prima and Tim Holtz), rubber stamps (Tim Holtz, Artemio and Stampotique), Distress Stains, etc. And the result? Quite a festive and Christmassy tag, right? What, no..? ;D

Power of one

Joulukortteja on vielä kuvaamatta ja bloggaamatta jokunen, mutta jatketaan nyt art journal -linjalla, kun näihin inspiraatio on :) Tämä sivu on taas SODAliciouksen art journal -haasteeseen, jossa teemana on "power of" (jotenkin nämä sanahaasteet tuntuvat nyt inspiroivan erityisesti). Minä tein sivuni "yhden voimasta", sillä yksi on voimakas - ei kai ole mitään ilman yhtä, kaikki alkaa yhdestä ajatuksesta, yhdestä teosta, yhdestä ihmisestä... Tähän sivuun meni erinäisiä aineita gessosta maaleihin ja gelatoksiin, sabluunaa käytin ja Stampotiquen tikku-ukkoa (tuo on toinen Two sticks -leimassa olevasta kahdesta tikku-ukosta). Teksti on lehdestä saksittua ja kokoon kursittua.

I have some Christmas cards left to be photographed and blogged but I'll continue with yet another art journal page (I'm on a roll here! ;D ). This page is for the SODAlicious art journal challenge #40 where the theme is 'power of' (I love these word challenges, somehow I'm so inspired by them at the moment). I made my page about the power of one, because to me there's nothing more powerful than one - everything starts with one, be it one thought, one step, one action, one person... I used different media for this page, everything from gesso to modeling paste to acrylic paints to gelatos. I also used a stencil and part of a stamped image (that adorable stick figure is half of the Stampotique stamp called 'Two sticks').

Tähtiä ja kuusikulmioita - Stars and hexagons

Ja taas olisi veljenpojan synttärien aika! :D Tällä kertaa kyseessä on miehen veljenpoika, joka täyttää tulevana viikonloppuna 14 vuotta. Tähän korttiin käytin paria sabluunaa: tähdet mustetin Distress Inkillä Timpan sabluunan läpi ja nuo kuusikulmiot leikkasin The Crafter's Workshopin sabluunan avulla. Keltaiseen kuusikulmioon embossasin valkoisella jauheella ja Hero Artsin leimalla nuo viivat ja turkoosiin kuusikulmioon leimasin The Artistic Stamperin leimalla pilkkuja. Onnea-tekstin leimasin tuohon My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla stanssattuun banneriin, jonka alla on vähän washiteippiä. Lisänä mustia paljetteja (kyllä, olin rohkea ja laitoin teinipojan korttiin paljetteja! Mustia sentään, mutta paljetteja silti! :D ) ja muutama Enamel Accents -tippa.

And once again it's time for a nephew's birthday! :D This time it's my hubby's nephew who turns 14 this weekend. I made this card using stencils: I applied some Distress Ink through a Tim Holtz stencil and cut the hexagons using The Crafter's Workshop stencil. I stamped with a Hero Arts stamp and heat embossed the lines on the yellow hexagon, and the dots on the teal hexagon I stamped with The Artistic Stamper stamp. The banner is diecut with a My Favorite Things die and the sentiment on it says 'Congrats'. In addition, there's some washi tape, some sequins (yes, sequins on a teenage boy's birthday card! Mad, I know, but at least they're black.. ;D ) and some white Enamel Accents drops.

Tähän art journal -sivuun tuli sitten kerroksia. Alunperin tässä oli pelkästään Dylusions-suihkeita mutta nyt loppuviimein niistä ei näy jälkeäkään :D No haitanneeko tuo. There are some layers on this page, I can tell you that! This page began its life coloured with Dylusions ink sprays but now, on the finished page, you can't see them at all :D Oh well, nevermind. I made this page with those sprays, acrylic paints, gesso, stencils (Tim Holtz, SODAlicious), stamps (KaiserCraft, 7Gypsies, Artemio), inks, washi tape, etc.

Kotka - Eagle

Ja poikakortit jatkuvat, taas siis 8-vuotiskortti veljenpojalle 3/4 ;) En ole tuota kotkatirppaa kovin usein käyttänyt, joten nyt oli hyvä hetki käyttää sitä. Väritin ison tirpan Distress Markereilla ja lisäilin vähän valkoista geelikynää korostamaan sulkia. Paperin stanssasin muotoonsa Spellbindersin stanssilla ja alla olevan ruskean kartongin leikkasin käsin, että sain oikean kokoisen kehyksen. Numero 8 on stanssattu Timpan stanssilla. Taustan vihreään paperiin leimasin raidat Hero Artsin Large Canvas Stripes -taustaleimalla. Tästä tuli aika lailla tällainen peruskortti, en vain tiedä jäikö tuo tausta papereineen vähän turhan pliisuksi, olisiko kotka vaatinut taustakseen vähän tymäkämmät värit? No, tällä mennään kuitenkin.

Here's yet another birthday card for a boy, it's for my nephew #3 out of 4 ;) for his 8th birthday. I haven't used this eagle stamp that much so I thought it was a good time to use it now. I think the stamp is by Whiff of Joy but I'm not sure what it's called. Anyways, I coloured the big birdie with Distress Markers and added some highlights to his feathers with a white gel pen. I die cut the paper using a Spellbinders die and then I cut the brown cardstock behind it with my scissors in order to get a right sized frame. The number 8 is die cut with a Tim Holtz die. I stamped the green paper with the background stamp 'Large Canvas Stripes' by Hero Arts. I'm not sure if the background is a bit too wishy washy for the eagle, maybe he should have some stronger colours behind him? But it's too late to change that now so we'll just have to go with this ;)

Spreijaaja - The dude's spraying!

Taas lähestyy yhden veljenpojan synttärit ja jo toista kertaa tämän vuoden sisällä minä olen ajoissa korttien kanssa (tästähän uhkaa tulla tapa...! ;) ). Tein taas kolme eri korttia, yhden meiltä, yhden isovanhempiensa annettavaksi ja yhden isoisoäitinsä annettavaksi ja tässä näytille yksi 8-vuotiskorteista. Taustan "seinän" tein teippaamalla washiteippejä kartongille ja kirjaimet stanssasin Memory Boxin stansseilla (Classic Lower Alphabet). Väritin kirjaimet ProMarkerilla, i:n jätin osittain valkoiseksi, että näyttäisi siltä, että hemmo ei ole sitä vielä ehtinyt spreijata. Tuo hemmo on DoodleFactorya ja ProMarkereilla väritetty. Taustapaperiin leimasin muutaman Hero Artsin läiskän ja pariin kohtaan lisäsin pieniä niittejä.

One of my nephews has his birthday coming up soon and for the second time this year, I actually have the birthday cards ready well in advance (this is becoming a habit... ;) ). As usual, I made three cards, one from us, one for his grandparents to give to him and one for his greatgrandmother to give. This is one of the cards celebrating his 8th birthday. I made the 'wall' by taping some washi tapes on a piece of cardstock. The stamped dude is by DoodleFactory and I coloured him with ProMarkers. He is spraying letters that I die cut with Memory Box dies ('Classic Lower Alphabet'). For the background I just stamped a Hero Arts ink blot stamp a few times on patterned paper and added some tiny staples.

Pompom-kukkaa - Pompom flower

...pukkaa! Tein toisenkin kortin Hero Artsin maaliskuun haasteen innoittamana. Jotenkin tämä pompom-kukka on niin ihanan iloinen, että siitä ainakin minulle tulee mieleen kevät. Ja vielä, kun sen laittaa kunnolla neonväreihin, niin mikäs sen parempi :) Tässä siis taustalla on Heron Newspaper background HA Shadow Inkillä leimattuna, reunoihinkin laitoin hieman vihreää Shadow Inkiä. Kukan leimasin Archival Inkillä ja väritin Prismacoloreilla. Niillä värittäminen ei ihan vahvuuksiini kuulu mutta harjoittelu jatkukoon :) Tuon vihreän kartongin reunan stanssasin Tim Holtzin stanssilla, mielestäni se sopii tuohon kukkaan mainiosti. Sitten vain hieman nappia, nyöriä ja puolihelmeä korttiin ja teksti FinnStamperin leimalla, niin se on siinä.

I made another card for the Hero Arts March challenge. This happy little pompom flower reminds me of spring and when you colour it with bright neon colours, what could it spell if not 'spring'? :) For this card I stamped the background with Hero Arts Newspaper background and some grey Shadow Ink, I also inked the edges of the cardstock with some green Shadow Ink. I stamped the flower with black Archival Ink and coloured it with Prismacolor pencils. The edge of the green cardstock is die cut with a Tim Holtz die and I think it suits the flower so well. The sentiment says something like 'Have a lovely day'. As embellies there are the usual suspects, some twine, a button and black pearls.

Tammikuun alussa suvussa juhlittiin 5-kymppisiä ja tein tällaisen kortin päivänsankarittarelle. Kortti on 2-osainen (vaikka se ei kuvasta näykään) ja stanssasin sen 'kannen' reunan uudella Tim Holtz -stanssillani (Butterflight). Bazzillin ruusupaperin taakse laitoin hieman vaaleamman viininpunaista kartonkia kuin itse korttipohja oli ja samoista kartongeista stanssasin Papertrey Inkin stansseilla (Mat Stack 4) palat, joista päällimmäisen leimasin Hero Artsin taustaleimalla (Flourish Background) ja Versamarkilla. Huoparuusun stanssasin Sizzixin stanssilla ja pyörittelin kokoon ja lehti taas on stanssattu Papertrey Inkin lehtistanssilla (setistä Turning a New Leaf). Lisäksi hieman helmiä metallinarussa ja ruusun keskustassa ja numerot ääriviivatarroilla.

We had a 50th birthday party to go to earlier this month and this is the card I made for the birthday girl. The card is a 2-fold although you can't see it in the piccie, and I die cut the edge of the front of the card with my new Tim Holtz die (Butterflight). I attached the rose paper by Bazzill to a lighter coloured cardstock than the card blank and then I die cut pieces from the same cardstocks with Papertrey Ink dies (Mat Stack 4) and stamped one of them with a Hero Arts stamp Flourish Background and Versamark ink. I made the felt rose with a Sizzix die and die cut the leaves with a Papertrey Ink die (from the Turning a New Leaf set). As further embellies there are some pearls on a metal wire and as the center of the rose, and number stickers.

I Never Dare

Yleisön pyynnöstä ;) lisää journal-sivuja (tosin sitä mukaa, kun näitä laitan, vähenee lukijat tuosta oikean puolen laatikosta... Hmm...). Tuossa syksyn puolella sain postissa paksun kirjekuoren Englannista ja mietin jo kuumeisesti, mitä ihmettä olin tilannut ja unohtanut tilanneeni. No, homma selvisi, kun avasin kuoren: se oli arvontavoitto Craft Stamper -lehdestä, 8 settiä uusia Lynne Perrella -leimasimia! :) En ole ehtinyt niitä käyttää tätä ennen, mutta nyt tässä nuo tytsyt on yksi niistä uusista leimasimista. Muuten tässä sivussa on taas vähän sitä sun tätä: kuviopaperisuikaleita, paloja lehden ja kirjan sivuista, gessoa, washiteippiä, sabluunaa ja Distress Inkiä, Distress Stainia, leimasimia jne. Ja lopputulos on taas tällainen :)

Another page from my art journal. It seems that when I post these pages here, I lose a follower or two but I think I'll post them anyway... ;) Last autumn I received a big fat envelope from the UK in the post. Naturally, I thought what on earth had I ordered now and from where and how come I had forgotten about it. Well, when I opened the envelope it turned out that it was a giveaway prize from the Craft Stamper magazine: 8 sets of new Lynne Perrella rubber stamps! Wohoo! I haven't had the chance to use them until now, here the row of the ladies is one of the new stamps. Otherwise this page has a bit of this and a bit of that again: scraps of patterned paper, pieces of magazine and book pages, some gesso, some washi tape, a stencil used with some Distress Ink, some Distress Stain, rubber stamps, etc. And the outcome is as follows :)

Joulukalenteri - Advent calendar

Maailman Suloisimmalla Pienellä Pojalla on tänä vuonna ensimmäistä kertaa joulukalenteri. Sellaistahan ei voi kaupasta ostaa (eihän?), joten tuunasin sitten tällaisen kalenteriksi. Tuo pahvilaatikosto on ostettu aikaa sitten Heinikasta, kaikki käytetyt paperit ovat Echo Parkin Holly Jolly Christmas -paperikosta ja koristeet ovat sarjaa 'sekalainen seurakunta'. Tuohon kalenteriin sitten tonttu tuo pienen lahjan joka päivälle... ;)

This year The Cutest Little Boy in the World (also known as our son :) ) has an advent calendar for the first time and I just couldn't buy one from a shop, could I? No, I made one myself :) I bought that little cardboard 'drawer' some time ago (last year? year before that?) with an advent calendar in mind, and now I just decorated it. All the papers I used are by Echo Park (the Holly Jolly Christmas series) and the embellies are 'a bit of this and a bit of that'. And as by magic, every night a little elf brings a little gift for our son and puts it in the calendar for him to find... ;)

Lehtiä - Leaves

P*skarteluhaasteessa haluttiin tällä kertaa nähdä lehtiä tai oksia, joten täältä tulee :) Eipä tässä nyt mitenkään erityisen innovatiivista lehvästön käyttöä ole, mutta löytyy niitä lehtiä kuitenkin. Kukat tähän on leimattu ja stanssattu Papertrey Inkin Beautiful Blooms II:lla, lehdet taas Turning a New Leaf -setin leimoilla ja stansseilla. Musteet on Hero Artsin Shadow Inkejä. Tuo keskellä oleva paperi on stanssattu Tim Holtzin stanssilla, päälle on leimattu Hero Artsin Envelope Patternilla ja HA:n Shadow Inkillä, reunat käyty läpi Distress Inkillä. Päälle sitten epämääräinen joukko timantteja. Taustan kartonki on kuvioitu PTI:n impression platella.

The challenge over at the Finnish challenge blog P*skarteluhaaste wants to see leaves or branches in your projects this week, here's my offering. I die cut and stamped the flowers with Papertrey Ink's Beautiful Blooms II stamps and dies, and the leaves with PTI's Turning a New Leaf stamps and dies. The inks I used are Hero Arts' Shadow Inks. I die cut the paper in the middle with a Tim Holtz die, stamped it with Hero Arts' Envelope Pattern stamp and inked the edges with Distress Ink. As embellies I added a bunch of rhinestones. I ran the green cardstock through my Cuttlebug with a PTI impression plate.

Yksinkertaista - Simple

Tällä kertaa olisi näytille pari hyvinkin yksinkertaista korttia. Taittelin näihin korttipohjat kraft-kartongista ja ensimmäiseen korttiin leimasin Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtzin Definitions-leiman valkoisella StazOnilla ja sen päälle Hero Artsin A Real Flower Drooping -leiman ruskealla Archival Inkillä. Lisäksi laitoin vain ruskea-valkoista leipurin nyöriä.

This time I have a couple of very simple cards to show you. For the first one, I stamped the Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz stamp 'Definitions' with white StazOn ink on kraft card blank, and then, on top of it, I stamped the Hero Arts' stamp 'A Real Flower Drooping' with brown Archival Ink. Then I added a piece of baker's twine as the only embellishment.

Seuraavan kortin tein samalla periaattella mutta tässä leimasin tuon Definitionsin ruskealla Archival Inkillä ja sen päälle embossasin tuon kukkaleiman valkoisella jauheella.

The next card is pretty much the same, but here I just stamped the 'Definitions' stamp with brown Archival Ink and then heat embossed the stamp 'A Real Flower Drooping' with white embossing powder.

Majavia, poikia ja herrasmiehiä - Beavers, boys, and gentlemen

Hmm, siitä taitaa olla jo pari viikkoa, kun ylipäätään postasin mitään ja vieläkin enemmän siitä, kun postasin jotain askarteluun liittyvää... Aika tuntuu hurjastelevan nyt siihen malliin, etten ehdi kuin kääntyä ja pari viikkoa katoaa (tai sitten alan vain todella h-i-d-a-s-t-u-a... ;D ). Jonkin verran olen ehtinyt askarrella, lähinnä "pakollisia" synttärikortteja ja vastaavia, mutta blogeissakaan en ole ehtinyt pahemmin kierrellä, joten jos en ole käynyt kommentoimassa, älä hermostu, kyl mää vielä joskus! ;) Viimeistään sitten, kun tuon ihan alusta asti aloitetun puutarhan saa jonkinlaiseen kuntoon... Vielä puuttuu nurmikkoa ja kasvia ja keinua mutta eiköhän se siitä pikkuhiljaa ;)

Well, I think it's been a couple of weeks since I posted anything here and even more since I posted anything crafty - oops! It seems that time is running so fast these days that I blink and two weeks are gone (either that or I'm getting just r-e-a-l-l-y s-l-o-w...;) ). I have managed to craft a bit, mainly some birthday cards and such that I had to make but I haven't really had time to blog hop either but hopefully I'll get there eventually. Perhaps when our garden (which we have started from scratch this year) is looking a bit better... It still needs a lawn (!), some plants and at least a swing set and a sandbox for our sweet boy, hopefully we'll get it all done soon.

Mutta asiaan. Läväytän nyt näytille kokonaista kolme korttia, kaikki tehty 9 vuotta täyttäneelle veljenpojalleni, yksi kortti on taas isoisoäidiltään, yksi isovanhemmiltaan ja yksi meiltä. Ensimmäiseen korttiin tein taustan embossaamalla Impression Obsessionin taustaleiman mustalla ja sutimalla Distress Stainia päälle. Ratasta "ruostutin" hieman DI:llä ja embossausjauheella ja leimakuvan (Kraftin' Kimmien hurmaava Chester) väritin niinikään DI:llä. Sitten vain tekstileimaa kehiin ja koristeiksi ruuveja ja filminauhaa.

I'll stop waffling now and show you three cards I made for my nephew who turned 9. His greatgrandmother gave him one of these cards, his grandparents gave one and we gave one, so that's why I made three ;) I made the background for this first one by heat embossing an Impression Obsession background stamp with black powder and applying some blue Distress Stain on top. I coloured the stamped image (the dashing Chester by Kraftin' Kimmie) with DIs, and 'rusted' the gear behind him with DIs and some embossing powder. The sentiment says (freely translated), 'To the smashing guy'. As embellies there are only a couple of screw brads and some Tim Holtz film strip ribbon.

Toisen kortin taustapaperiin lisäilin hieman DI:ä Crafter's Workshopin sapluunan läpi ja teippailin hieman "vauhtiviivoja". Poikaleima on Nina Åslundin, väritin sen ProMarkereilla ja lisäsin silmiin hieman glossya. Tähtileima on Artistic Stamperin ja tekstileima on Taitopuoti Paperinauhan setistä. Lisänä muutama pikkuniitti.

The background paper in this second card was a plain one so I decided to add some DI through a Crafter's Workshop stencil to it. I also added a few strips of washi tapes. The boy stamp is by Nina Åslund, I coloured it with ProMarkers and added some Glossy Accents to his eyes. The stars stamp is by Artistic Stamper and the sentiment says basically 'Congrats'. To finish the card off, I added some tiny staples to the corners.

Viimeisessä kortissa onkin sitten majava uikkareissa... :) Leimakuva on siis DoodleFactoryn Belvedere, ProMarkereilla väritetty ja uikkarit ja silmät glossytetty. Viirit on FinnStamperin leima, embossattu valkoisella. Tähdet on leikattu pienellä Fiskarsin leikkurilla ja numero 9 on washiteippipäällysteistä kartonkia, Holtzin stanssilla stanssattu. Tekstileima on niinikään Taitopuoti Paperinauhan setistä, pilkkupaperi Echo Parkia ja kartongin reunoissa valkoista crackle paintia (idea SannaS:ltä :) ). Lisänä vielä vähän washiteippiä.

The last card features a beaver in his swimming trunks... :) The stamped image is Belvedere by DoodleFactory, I coloured him with ProMarkers and added some Glossy Accents to his swimming trunks and eyes. The little flags are heat embossed with white embossing powder and 'attached' with brads, the stamp is by FinnStamper. The number 9 is die cut from cardboard covered with washi tape with a Tim Holtz die. As other embellies there are stars punched with a Fiskars punch and some dotty washi tape. The dotty paper is by Echo Park, I added some white Distress Crackle Paint to the edges of the cardboard square in the middle (idea came from SannaS).

Kattimatteja - Cats galore

Mitä saadaan, kun yhdistetään maaleja, kissan naamoja ja nauhaa? Siitähän saadaan taas tagi, joka sekin on matkannut joku aika sitten ystävälle. Tämä syntyi aika lailla samalla periaatteella kuin tuo aikaisempi tagikin, pohjalla on akryylimaaleja eri tavoin lisättynä sekä hieman kuivapastellikynää ja päällä on Inktenseillä väritetyt Zettiologyn ihanat kissan naamat ja osin leimatut ja osin käsinkirjoitetut tekstit. Pisteenä i:n päällä ihana kangasnauha.

What do you get when you combine some paints, a few cat faces and some fancy ribbon? Well, once again you get a tag that has now travelled its way to meet a friend. The 'recipe' for this is pretty much the same than for the earlier tag, there are some acrylic paints and pastel pencils on the background with some cool Zettiology cat faces on top with a sentiment that's partly stamped and partly hand written. To finish it off, I used some gorgeous fabric ribbon.

Hyvää ystävänpäivää! - Happy Valentine's Day!

Ja mikäpä sanoo 'hyvää ystävänpäivää' paremmin kuin kaksi tikku-ukkoa?! ;D Tämä Stampotiquen leima on mielestäni niin ihana ja hauska, meni kyllä mun lempparilistan kärkeen. Tikku-ukkojen seurana tässä on Tim Holtzin tipuja orrella, Hero Artsin Friends Definition taustalla, koristeena timantti ja washiteippiä ja paperit on BasicGreytä ja Echo Parkia. Väritin nuo pallot tuossa Echo Parkin paperissa (tuossa piparkakkureunassa siis) Copicilla, mätsäävät paremmin tikku-ukkojen päihin :) Niin ja tikku-ukkojen päät on leimattu erilliselle paperille, leikattu irti ja liimattu leimakuvan päälle, kropat väritin Kuretaken Wink of Stella -kynillä.

Can you imagine anything better on a Valentine's Day card than two stick figures? Well I can't! ;D I've fallen hard for this Stampotique stamp, I think it's so cute and funny, it really became one of my favourites. To accompany the stick figures on this card there are the Tim Holtz birds, the Friends Definition by Hero Arts on the background, a rhinestone and some washi tape and some papers by BasicGrey and Echo Park. I coloured the dots on the dotty Echo Park paper with a Copic marker, that way the dots match the stick figures' heads better :D Oh and I paper pieced the heads of the stick figures and coloured their bodies with some Wink of Stella pens by Kuretake.
If, by any chance, you're wondering why my Valentine's Day card is not a lovey-dovey card dribbling with hearts, here's your answer: in Finland Valentine's day focuses more on friends and friendship and not really on love and lovers. So this is a card for a friend and as much as I love my friends, Valentine's Day in Finland calls for different kinds of cards than Valentine's Day in some other parts of the world ;)

Chester ja hyviä uutisia - Chester and some good news

Taas tarvittiin poikakorttia, kun miehen veljenpoika täytti 12 vee. Näitä poikien synttärikortteja tarvitaan niin monta vuodessa, että välillä tuntuu, että alkaa ideat loppua... ;) Tämä kortti lähti oikeastaan siitä, että halusin kokeilla ihanan SannaS:n minulle tussitestailuun lähettämää 4cc-kartonkia (kiitos, ihana!!! :) ). Leimakuvaksi valikoitui tyylikäs Chester ja täytyy sanoa, että tuo 4cc menee kyllä ostoslistalle, sen verran hyvä siihen oli ProMarkereilla värittää. Chesterin taustalla olevan Tim Holtzin bingo-kortin leimasin siniselle paperille ja ympyröin siitä tuon numeron 12. Koristeeksi ruusuke ja washi-teippiä. Paperit on BasicGreytä ja onnea-teksti Merjan ja Pammun setistä.

My hubby's nephew turned 12 and again we needed a 'boy card'. The demand for cards for boys is quite big in our family (hubby has four nephews and I have four nephews) so sometimes I feel like I'm all out of ideas for boys... This card came together out of my wanting to try out some new cardstock that the lovely SannaS sent me. The cardstock is really smooth and therefore good for markers, as I found out when I coloured Chester with my ProMarkers. I stamped a Tim Holtz bingo stamp on light blue paper and circled the number 12. As embellies there's a rosette and some lovely washi tape. The papers are by BasicGrey and the sentiment says 'congrats'.

Niin, ja missäkö sitä washi-teippiä on? No ruusukkeessa tietenkin! Stanssasin tuon ruusukkeen vaaleansinisestä paperista ja laitoin siihen kapeaa tummanruskeaa ja beigeä washi-teippiä koristeeksi ja hieman myös vahvistamaan ruusuketta. Päälle vielä sininen nappi.

Where's the washi tape, I hear you ask? Look at the rosette more closely - it's there! I added some narrow washi tapes (dark brown and beige) on the rosette that I die cut out of light blue paper, both to decorate the rosette and to make it a bit stronger and easier to fold. Then I just added the blue button as centre.

Edellisessä postauksessa kerroin päiväni olleen hyvä. No, se päivä parani vielä enemmän, kun sain sähköpostia Teippitarhan Janinalta. Hän oli nähnyt postaukseni ja kiitokseksi Teippitarhan mainitsemisesta ja heidän teippiensä käyttämisestä Janina halusi antaa minulle ilmaisen teippirullan! Ihanaa yllättävää ystävällisyyttä!! (Kiitos, Janina, vielä tätäkin kautta! :) ). Lisäksi hän kutsui minut kylään Teippitarhan blogiin!! Wohoo!! Tämä on ensimmäinen kerta, kun olen "esillä" missään - mukavaa, että se tapahtuu Teippitarhassa! :) Kiitos kutsusta ja mieluustihan minä kortteineni kylään tulen (vaikka hieman jänskättääkin...). Mutta, vielä parempia uutisia seuraa: nyt nimittäin on mahdollista tilata Teippitarhan teippejä ILMAN POSTIKULUJA! Hurjastele tänne katsomaan, miten se on mahdollista!

In my previous post I said that I had a good day. Well, that day just got better when I received an email from Janina @ Teippitarha shop. She had seen my post and as a thank you for using their products and mentioning them she wanted to give me a roll of washi tape for free! Wasn't that kind! And, what's more, she asked me to come over and visit their blog with my cards! Wohoo! I'm so happy, I've never been asked to do that before! Happy AND nervous.... Oh, and if you live in Europe and want to order some gorgeous washi tapes, happy news for you: Teippitarha delivers to Europe as well!

Ja taas mennään kaksi vuotta vanhempaan synttärisankariin, tämä kortti meni siis miehen 18 vuotta täyttäneelle veljenpojalle. En oikein tiedä, mitä sain aikaan tämän kortin kanssa.... aluksi minulla oli johtoidea, sitten se tuntui katoavan, sitten tuli joku idea mutta en tiedä, sainko siitäkään oikein kiinni - tällainen lopputulos kuitenkin tuli. Tein taustan ColorCoren kartongilla, jonka päällyosa on musta ja alta tulee kaunis sininen (tästä kartongista kiitos Kissinialle!). Kohokuvioin sen siis Holtzin kohokuviointitaskulla ja hioin koholla olevat osat niin, että sininen näkyi sieltä hieman paremmin. Rattaat stanssasin niinikään Holtzin stansseilla, maalasin valkoisella crackle paintilla ja sudin aavistuksen sinistä mustetta päälle. Kiinnitin ne tarrapaloilla ja yhdistin palloketjulla. Numeron stanssasin Chip Block -stanssilla ja päällystin glossylla. Sitten koko komeus vain sinisestä kartongista taitellulle korttipohjalle ja siinä se.

And again we're moving on to an older birthday boy, this card went to hubby's nephew who turned 18. I'm not really sure about this card, I have to confess. At first I had a brilliant idea, then it kind of disappeared but I came up with another idea but then that seemed to vanish, too... and  this is what I ended up with. I made the background with a ColorCore cardstock that has a black surface and this beautiful shade of blue underneath (thank you, Kissinia, for this! :) ). I embossed it with a Tim Holtz embossing folder and then sanded it to highlight the embossing a bit more. Then I die cut the gears with a Tim Holtz die, painted them with white crackle paint and stained very lightly with blue ink. I attached them to the background with 3D foam pads and joined them with a chain. I die cut the number with Chip Block die and applied Glossy Accents on it. Then I just adhered the whole thing to a card blank that I had folded from blue cardstock.

Tervetuloa kevari! - Welcome light motorcycle!

14-vuotiaasta pari vuotta vanhempaan.. Tällainen kortti meni miehen 16 vuotta täyttävälle veljenpojalle. Kyseinen nuori mies on hehkutellut kevaria jo jonkin aikaa ja ajaa parhaillaan kevarikorttia, siitä se ajatus sitten lähti ;) Polkupyörä on DoodleFactoryn leima, väritin sen ProMarkereilla ja ruksit sen päälle tein ihan paperisuikaleilla. Tähtipaperi on October Afternoonia, ruskea kartonki ColorCorea, numero ja kirjaimet Holtzin Chip Block -stanssilla tehty ja 'tervetuloa' on ihan vain dymotettu.

We're moving on to older birthday boy.. This card went to hubby's nephew who turned 16. The young man in question has been enthusiastic about light motorcycles for a while now and is at the moment in driving school to study for a driving licence for light motorcycles (16 is the age limit for that in Finland) - that's where my inspiration for this card came from! ;) The bicycle stamp is by DoodleFactory, I coloured the image with ProMarkers and added the red cross on it . The starry paper is by October Afternoon and the brown cardstock is by ColorCore. I die cut the number and the word 'kevari' (that's the Finnish colloquial term for a light motorcycle) with Tim Holtz's Chip Block die and the word 'tervetuloa' ('welcome' in Finnish) I wrote with a Dymo. So goodbye to bicycle and welcome to light motorcycles! :)
