Ei enää pyöriä! - No more bikes!

Veljenpoikani täytti tässä keväällä 15 ja tein hänelle nämä kortit. 15 tarkoittaa mopoikää ja se taas tarkoittaa hyvästejä polkupyörille - siitä lähti ensimmäisen kortin idea! Polkupyörä on DoodleFactoryn leima Copiceilla väritettynä, taustalle stanssasin erinäisistä papereista ympyröitä ja neliön. Lisäksi vain stanssatut numerot ja teksti Lawn Fawnin aakkosilla.

My nephew turned 15 not too long ago and I made him these cards (one for us to give to him and one for his grandparents to give). When you turn 15, you are officially allowed to ride mopeds in Finland (after getting sufficient licenses, etc, of course) and for many that means "no more bikes!" - that's where the idea for this first card came from! The bike is stamped with a DoodleFactory stamp and I coloured it with my Copics and fussy cut it out. Then I die cut a couple of circles and a square to mat under it and just added the die cut numbers and the text (stamped with Lawn Fawn alphabet stamps).

Tähän toiseen korttiin tulikin sitten stanssailtua... Stanssasin nuo bannerit My Favorite Thingsin stansseilla ja niihin aakkoset Memory Boxin aakkosstansseilla, myös numerot stanssasin MB:n stansseilla. Sitten vain kerrostusta kartongeille ja kortti oli valmis. Idea korttiin tuli täältä.

This next card required some die cutting... First I die cut the fishtail banners with My Favorite Things dies and then I die cut the letters with Memory Box's alphabet dies in the banners. Also the numbers are die cut with MB's dies. Then I just layered the cardstocks on top of each other and the card was done! The idea for this card came from here.

6-vuotiaalle - For our 6-year-old

Blogihiljaisuuteni aikana perheen esikoinen ehti täyttää täydet 6 vuotta ja tein hänelle tällaiset kortit. Ensimmäisen kortin hänelle antoivat isovanhemmat ja toisen kortin me. Leimakuva ensimmäisessä kortissa on Tiddly Inksin My Super Boy -setistä Copiceilla väritettynä. Taustan paperit ovat Echo Parkia ja Simple Storiesia mustalla kartongilla kehystettyinä. Koristeina Memory Boxin stanssilla stanssattu numero 6 ja muutama Kaiser Craftin droplet.

During my recent blog silence, my eldest boy turned 6 and I made him these cards. The first card was given to him by his grandparents and the second by us. The stamped image in the first card is from the Tiddly Inks set 'My Super Boy' and I coloured him with my Copic markers. The patterned papers I used are by Simple Stories and Echo Park, and there's also some black cardstock to spice things up a bit. The number 6 is diecut with a Memory Box die and I added some Kaiser Craft droplets as embellies.

Toisen kortin leimakuvan (Lili of the Valleyn Tree House) väritin Distress Markereilla ja stanssasin Simon Says Stampin ommelreunastanssilla. Taustapaperi on Echo Parkia ja koristeina löytyy stanssattu tagi (WPlus9), stanssattu numero (Memory Box), nyöriä ja muutama enamel drops. Tekstin stanssasin Memory Boxin aakkosstansseilla.

The stamped image on the second card is by Lili of the Valley and it's called 'Tree House'. I coloured it with my Distress Markers and die cut it out with a Simon Says Stamp stitched edge die. The background paper is by Echo Park and as embellies I used a die cut tag (WPlus9 die), a die cut number (a Memory Box die), some twine and a few enamel drops. The text is die cut with Memory Box alphabet dies and it spells out 'Congrats' in Finnish.

Jannu - Dude

Idea tähän korttiin lähti tuosta taustapaperista. Tein synttärikorttia 12 vuotta täyttävälle pojalle ja halusin siihen vähän räväkkyyttä, joten valitsin tuollaisen "räjähdyskuviopaperin" (Echo Parkia). Leimakuva on Tiddly Inksiä (My Boys) ja väritin sen Distress Markereilla. Stanssasin leimakuvan Simon Says Stampin ommelreunastanssilla. Nuo pienemmät "räjähdykset" stanssasin Sizzixin Starburst-stanssilla ja leimasin niihin Lawn Fawnin aakkosilla tekstin ja numerot. Lisäksi hieman enamel dotseja.

I needed to make a birthday card for a boy turning 12 and I wanted the card to look energetic and happy and boyish so I decided to use a really funky background paper (by Echo Park). The stamped image is by Tiddly Inks (from the "My Boys" set), I coloured it with Distress Markers and die cut it with the stitched edge die by Simon Says Stamp. I die cut a couple of "explosions" with a Sizzix die ("Starburst") and stamped the sentiment and the numbers on them with Lawn Fawn stamps. To finish the card off, I used some enamel dots.

Tein synttärikortin pojalle tämänviikkoisen Mojo Monday -haasteluonnoksen mukaan. Leimakuva on Tiddly Inksiä Copiceilla väritettynä ja Simonin ommelreunastanssilla stanssattuna. Taustapaperia stanssasin WPlus9:n stanssilla ja tähdet Lawn Fawnin tähtistansseilla. Paperit taitavat olla sekalaista seurakuntaa.

I made this birthday card for a boy following the sketch over at Mojo Monday Card Sketch Challenge. I used a Tiddly Inks stamp and coloured the image with my Copics (still practicing with them so don't look too closely... ;) ). The stitched edge dies I used to die cut the image and the green patterned paper are by Simon Says Stamp, and I used a die by WPlus9 to die cut the little gap in the background paper. The stars are die cut with Lawn Fawn dies, and the numbers with a Tim Holtz die (lots of die cutting going on in this card! :) ).

Leluvene - Sailing Boat

Poikamainen synttärikortti olisi tarjolla näytille tällä kertaa. Leimakuva on LOTV:n, väritin sen Distress Markereilla ja stanssasin Simonin ommelreunaisella stanssilla. Taustalle leimasin Heron Canvas Stripe -taustaleiman, tekstin leimasin vellumvyötteeseen ja koristeeksi laitoin stanssatun tähden, napin ja vähän nyöriä.

I have a birthday card for a boy to show you today. I made this using Lili of the Valley's lovely 'Sailing Boat' stamp, and I coloured the image with Distress Markers. I used Simon Says Stamp's stitched edge die to die cut the image out, stamped the sentiment (it says 'Congrats' in Finnish) onto a vellum banner and attached the whole thing onto the background onto which I had stamped the stripes with a Hero Arts stamp. I kept the embellishments to a minimum and only used a die cut star with a button and some twine.

Robotti - Robot

Tällä kertaa olisi näytille tarjolla tällainen poikamainen synttärikortti, taas varsin simppeli sellainen. Leimakuva on suloinen DoodleFactory-robotti, jonka väritin Copiceilla (kyllä, piiiitkän vastustelun jälkeen annoin periksi ja ostin ensimmäiset Copicini. Nyt sitten kiroilen huokailen, kun en niillä osaa mitään... Ei siis kannata katsoa tuota väritystä turhan tarkkaan, olen vielä sen verran harjoitteluasteella!). Reunaan lisäsin hieman kuviopaperia ja vähän leipurinnyöriä. Sitten vain tekstileima ja paneelin kiinnitys tarrapaloilla korttipohjaan. Siinäpä se.

I've got a boyish birthday card to show you today. It's quite simple (again) but I think I kinda like it :) The cute robot is a stamp by DoodleFactory, I coloured him with Copics (yes, I finally gave in and bought my first Copic markers! I'm no good with them yet so please don't look at my colouring too closely ;) ). As other elements, I used a strip of patterned paper, some baker's twine, and the stamped sentiment (it says 'Congrats!' in Finnish). I used some foam adhesives to attach the panel to the card base.

Keltainen apina - Yellow monkey

Tein toisenkin synttärikortin meidän perheen pienimmälle (eka on tämä täällä), tämän hänelle antaa isovanhempansa. Leimasin siihen Doodle Factoryn apinan liaaniin roikkumaan ja väritin ProMarkereilla. Stanssasin kehykset Paper Smoochesin Polaroid-setin stanssilla ja embossasin tekstileiman ja lisäilin sydämet. Taustalle Pink Paisleen paperi ja lisäksi Timpan stanssilla stanssattu numero.

Our youngest son turns two this month and I made him a birthday card #2 (you can see the first one here), this will be given to him by his grandparents. I stamped the Doodle Factory monkey hanging on a liana and coloured him with ProMarkers. I framed the stamped image with the die cut Polaroid frame and heat embossed the sentiment (it says 'Congrats' in Finnish). The little hearts are die cut with a Simon Says Stamp die and the number with a Tim Holtz die. The patterned paper is by Pink Paislee.

Pian 2! - Soon 2!

Meidän perheen pienin täyttää tässä kuussa kokonaiset kaksi vuotta! (*mihinseaikamenee...*) Synttärikortiksi tein tällaisen pyöreän Doodle-taksilla varustetun kortin. Auton väritin ProMarkereilla ja leikkasin irti. Tuo taksikyltissä oleva keltainen läikkä on tämän tekniikan ihmelapsen taidonnäyte - leimasin kylttiin pojan nimen ja osasin kuin osasinkin peittää sen kuvankäsittelyohjelmalla! :D Eipä tässä muuta kummempaa olekaan, enamel dotseja, numero ja October Afternoonin papereita. Pieni autokortti pienelle automiehelle! :)

Our youngest son turns two this month and I made him this little birthday card. The car is a DoodleFactory taxi stamp which I coloured with ProMarkers and fussy cut out. The yellow smudge you see on the taxi sign is something I'm very proud of - I had stamped our son's name there and as I want to keep it private, I smudged it out with a picture editing programme, and that is no small miracle let me tell you! I'm really no good at all with computers so to be able to do that is big for me, ha ha! :D But anyways, the card itself is pretty straightforward, there are some enamel dots, the fussy cut number and some October Afternoon papers, and that's about it.

1-vuotiaalle - For a 1-year-old

Taas tilauskorttia näytille, tällä kertaa kortti tarvittiin vuoden täyttävälle pojalle. Tein taas pari vaihtoehtoa, joista valita. Tässä ensimmäisessä leimakuvana on Whiff of Joyn Henry Celebrating Mouse, jonka  väritin Distress Markereilla ja jonka muffinssiin ja kynttilän liekkiin lisäsin hieman kirkasta Wink of Stellaa. Stanssasin leimakuvan ja mustetin reunoja. Tekstileima on You Do:n, leimattu vellumille ja stanssattu My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla. Lisänä stanssattu tähti ja muutama enamel dotsi. Paperi on Echo Parkia.

I have a commission card to show you again, this time I was asked to make a birthday card for a little boy turning one, and again I made a couple of cards from which to choose. The first card sports 'Henry Celebrating Mouse' by Whiff of Joy as its focal point. I coloured Henry with Distress Markers and added some clear Wink of Stella to the icing on his cup cake and the flame on the little candle. Then I die cut the image and inked the edges. The sentiment says 'For a 1-year-old' and it's stamped on vellum banner die cut with a My Favorite Things die. As embellishments there are some enamel dots and a die cut star. The patterned paper is by Echo Park.

Toiseen korttiin käytin tätä ihanaa The Artistic Stamperin Mabel Lucie Attwell -leimaa, jonka niinikään väritin Distress Markereilla. Stanssasin leimakuvan irti ja lisäsin siihen stanssatun ykkösen. Taustapaperi on October Afternoonia.

For the second card, I used this lovely Mabel Lucie Attwell/The Artistic Stamper stamp 'For You' which I coloured with Distress Markers. I die cut the image out and added a die cut number '1' to it, and attached the image with foam adhesives for a raised effect. The background paper is by October Afternoon.

Ilmapalloja - Balloons

Ja taas yritän feikata! Eli Watercolor for Cardmakers -kurssin päivä 7 ja feikkivesivärimaalaus. Ohjeena tässä oli Debby Hughesin tutoriaali. Minulla ei ole ilmapalloleimaa, joten käytin tässä aakkosleimojen O-kirjaimia (isoa ja pientä) - mielestäni ne toimivat hyvin tähän tarkoitukseen! :) Pallojen vesiväritys on H2O-vesiväreillä ja taivas taustalla on nestemäisellä vesivärillä (Ecoline). Lisänä tekstileimaa (FinnStamper), washiteippiä ja vähän stanssausta. Hieman harmittaa, että nuo pallot jäivät aavistuksen liian alas, niiden yläpuolella on mielestäni liikaa ilmaa mutta ei auta, tällä mennään.

It's more faking from me! That is, on Day 7 at Watercolor for Cardmakers the theme was Faux Hand-Painting and for this card, I followed the tutorial by the amazing Debby Hughes. I don't have any balloon stamps so I used the letter O (uppercase and lowercase) from an alphabet stamp set, and I think they worked well for this. I watercoloured the balloons with Twinkling H2O's and the sky behind them with liquid watercolour (Ecoline). Then I just stamped my sentiment, added some washi tape and die cut my circle and number. Looking at the card now, I think I should have placed the balloons a bit higher up, there's too much 'air' above them but it can't be helped now, so this will have to do now.

Teinari - Teen

Taas on aika tehdä synttärikortteja veljenpojille :) Pojista vanhin astuu nyt teini-iän puolelle, joten tein hänelle astetta räyhäkämmän kortin - jotenkin tämä Stampotiquen leimakuva sopii teini-ikäiselle... Leimakuvan nimi on 'Are My Pants Too Tight' ja maskasin sen Penny Blackin tiiliseinäleiman kanssa. Teinarin väritin Inktense-kynillä ja tiiliseinän Gelatoksilla. Teksti on stanssattu Memory Boxin stanssilla, lisänä kortissa on vain muutama musta Enamel Accents -tippa.

One of my nephews turns 13 and I made him this card for his birthday. As he becomes a teenager, I thought this Stampotique fella is more than suitable for his card :D The stamp is called 'Are My Pants Too Tight' and I masked it with the background stamp by Penny Black ('Brick Wall'). I coloured the fella with Derwent Inktense pencils and the brick wall with some Gelatos. The sentiment (it says 'Congrats teen!' in Finnish) is written with die cut alphabets (Memory Box). There are also a few drops of black Enamel Accents on the wall.

Tähtiä ja kuusikulmioita - Stars and hexagons

Ja taas olisi veljenpojan synttärien aika! :D Tällä kertaa kyseessä on miehen veljenpoika, joka täyttää tulevana viikonloppuna 14 vuotta. Tähän korttiin käytin paria sabluunaa: tähdet mustetin Distress Inkillä Timpan sabluunan läpi ja nuo kuusikulmiot leikkasin The Crafter's Workshopin sabluunan avulla. Keltaiseen kuusikulmioon embossasin valkoisella jauheella ja Hero Artsin leimalla nuo viivat ja turkoosiin kuusikulmioon leimasin The Artistic Stamperin leimalla pilkkuja. Onnea-tekstin leimasin tuohon My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla stanssattuun banneriin, jonka alla on vähän washiteippiä. Lisänä mustia paljetteja (kyllä, olin rohkea ja laitoin teinipojan korttiin paljetteja! Mustia sentään, mutta paljetteja silti! :D ) ja muutama Enamel Accents -tippa.

And once again it's time for a nephew's birthday! :D This time it's my hubby's nephew who turns 14 this weekend. I made this card using stencils: I applied some Distress Ink through a Tim Holtz stencil and cut the hexagons using The Crafter's Workshop stencil. I stamped with a Hero Arts stamp and heat embossed the lines on the yellow hexagon, and the dots on the teal hexagon I stamped with The Artistic Stamper stamp. The banner is diecut with a My Favorite Things die and the sentiment on it says 'Congrats'. In addition, there's some washi tape, some sequins (yes, sequins on a teenage boy's birthday card! Mad, I know, but at least they're black.. ;D ) and some white Enamel Accents drops.

Auto pojalle - A car for a boy

Tässä tulisi "veljenpoikakorteista" kolmas ja viimeinen. Tämä kortti menee 8 vuotta täyttävälle juhlijalle meiltä, aikaisemmat kortit (siis tämä ja tämä) menevät siis pojan isovanhemmilta ja isoisoäidiltä. Tämä on nyt ihan peruskortti sillä ajatuksella, että kaikki pojat tykkäävät autoista (ja sehän ei ole yleistys, eihän..?! ;) ) ja kortin leimakuvaksi valikoitui Papermanian auto, jonka väritin ProMarkereilla. Sitten vain kerrostusta kartongille ja paperille ja koristeeksi pari Spellbindersin stansseilla stanssattua tähteä. Siinäpä se.

Here's the last one of the three birthday cards I made for one of my nephews. We will be giving this card to the birthday boy, while the previous cards (this and this) I showed you are being given to him by his grandparents and his greatgrandmother. This just a very basic boy card with a picture of a car on it (all boys like cars, right..?! ;) ). I stamped the car with a Papermania stamp and coloured with ProMarkers. Then I just mounted it on some cardstock and some patterned paper and added a couple of stars as an embellishment. And that's it, really.

Kotka - Eagle

Ja poikakortit jatkuvat, taas siis 8-vuotiskortti veljenpojalle 3/4 ;) En ole tuota kotkatirppaa kovin usein käyttänyt, joten nyt oli hyvä hetki käyttää sitä. Väritin ison tirpan Distress Markereilla ja lisäilin vähän valkoista geelikynää korostamaan sulkia. Paperin stanssasin muotoonsa Spellbindersin stanssilla ja alla olevan ruskean kartongin leikkasin käsin, että sain oikean kokoisen kehyksen. Numero 8 on stanssattu Timpan stanssilla. Taustan vihreään paperiin leimasin raidat Hero Artsin Large Canvas Stripes -taustaleimalla. Tästä tuli aika lailla tällainen peruskortti, en vain tiedä jäikö tuo tausta papereineen vähän turhan pliisuksi, olisiko kotka vaatinut taustakseen vähän tymäkämmät värit? No, tällä mennään kuitenkin.

Here's yet another birthday card for a boy, it's for my nephew #3 out of 4 ;) for his 8th birthday. I haven't used this eagle stamp that much so I thought it was a good time to use it now. I think the stamp is by Whiff of Joy but I'm not sure what it's called. Anyways, I coloured the big birdie with Distress Markers and added some highlights to his feathers with a white gel pen. I die cut the paper using a Spellbinders die and then I cut the brown cardstock behind it with my scissors in order to get a right sized frame. The number 8 is die cut with a Tim Holtz die. I stamped the green paper with the background stamp 'Large Canvas Stripes' by Hero Arts. I'm not sure if the background is a bit too wishy washy for the eagle, maybe he should have some stronger colours behind him? But it's too late to change that now so we'll just have to go with this ;)

Spreijaaja - The dude's spraying!

Taas lähestyy yhden veljenpojan synttärit ja jo toista kertaa tämän vuoden sisällä minä olen ajoissa korttien kanssa (tästähän uhkaa tulla tapa...! ;) ). Tein taas kolme eri korttia, yhden meiltä, yhden isovanhempiensa annettavaksi ja yhden isoisoäitinsä annettavaksi ja tässä näytille yksi 8-vuotiskorteista. Taustan "seinän" tein teippaamalla washiteippejä kartongille ja kirjaimet stanssasin Memory Boxin stansseilla (Classic Lower Alphabet). Väritin kirjaimet ProMarkerilla, i:n jätin osittain valkoiseksi, että näyttäisi siltä, että hemmo ei ole sitä vielä ehtinyt spreijata. Tuo hemmo on DoodleFactorya ja ProMarkereilla väritetty. Taustapaperiin leimasin muutaman Hero Artsin läiskän ja pariin kohtaan lisäsin pieniä niittejä.

One of my nephews has his birthday coming up soon and for the second time this year, I actually have the birthday cards ready well in advance (this is becoming a habit... ;) ). As usual, I made three cards, one from us, one for his grandparents to give to him and one for his greatgrandmother to give. This is one of the cards celebrating his 8th birthday. I made the 'wall' by taping some washi tapes on a piece of cardstock. The stamped dude is by DoodleFactory and I coloured him with ProMarkers. He is spraying letters that I die cut with Memory Box dies ('Classic Lower Alphabet'). For the background I just stamped a Hero Arts ink blot stamp a few times on patterned paper and added some tiny staples.

Taas Hero Artsin ihania sutaisuja korttiin :) Tällä kertaa tarvitsimme synttärikorttia 16 vuotta täyttävälle nuorelle miehelle ja jotenkin nämä sudinvedot sopivat mielestäni niin hyvin nuorten miesten kortteihin. Hain tähän inspiraatiota Shari Carrollin kollaasityyppisistä leimailuista mutta voi vain sanoa, että en tosiaankaan ole Shari Carroll... ;) Leimasimina siis oli Brush Strokes -setin leimasimia ja musteina Hero Artsin Shadow Inkejä (Pool, Soft Pool, Tide Pool, Wet Granite ja Cup o' Joe). Numerot leimasin Paper Smoochesin Alphadot -setin numeroilla.

More lovely brush strokes by Hero Arts :) This time we needed a birthday card for a young man turning 16 and somehow these different brush strokes and marks suit masculine cards well. I was inspired by Shari Carroll's collage style of stamping when I made this but let's just say that I ain't no Shari Carroll... ;) But anyways, the stamps I used are from the Brush Strokes set and the inks are Hero Arts Shadow Inks (Pool, Soft Pool, Tide Pool, Wet Granite and Cup o' Joe). The numbers I stamped with the number stamps from the Alphadot set by Paper Smooches.

Sudinvedot - Brush strokes

Miten kannattaa ottaa kuva melkein kokovalkoisesta kortista? No valkoista taustaa vasten tietysti! Niinpä, tajusin juuri, kun kuvaa katselin, että ihan ei ehkä kortti hyvin tästä näy mutta eipä auta, kortti on jo saajallaan eikä siitä uuttakaan kuvaa saa. Toivottavasti tästä kuitenkin jotain näkyy, sillä halusin osallistua tällä Hero Artsin tämänhetkiseen haasteeseen. Inspiraationa käytin mm. tätä korttia, pidän tavasta, jolla noita sudinvetoja on käytetty taustana. Tämä kortti meni siis 18 vuotta täyttävälle nuorelle miehelle, joten ylenmääräisiä hörhellyksiä se ei kaivannut. Embossasin vain nuo sudinvedot disco black -värisellä jauheella, embossasin 7Gypsiesin numerot valkoisella jauheella mustalle kartongille ja leikkasin irti ja kiinnitin sudin jälkien päälle. Korttipohja tässä on neliönmallinen 13,5x13,5 cm.

How should you photograph a card that's mostly white? Against white background, of course! Ha yes, I just realised that you probably cannot see the card too well in the photo as it is white against white... However, I do hope you can see something there as I'd like to submit this to the current challenge at Hero Arts and I cannot take a new photo of the card as it has already been given to its recipient. Anyways, I love all the brush strokes stamps in the new Stamp Your Story collection and I was inspired by this card (among others), I love the way the brush strokes have been used as background for the focal point in the card. So I needed a card for a young man turning 18 and decided to use my new stamps and make a clean, no frills card. I heat embossed the brush strokes with 'disco black' embossing powder (it's black with glitter), heat embossed the numbers (from 7Gypsies' 'Numero' set) with white powder on black cardstock and cut them out and attached on the card (the card base was square 13,5x13,5 centimetres). And that was it! Clean and simple and hopefully to a young man's taste :)

Lisää synttärikortteja - More birthday cards

Kolmaskin veljenpoikani juhlii synttäreitään keväällä/alkukesästä ja "perinteitä kunnioittaen" tein hänellekin kolme korttia. Vaihtelun vuoksi tein tämän ensimmäisen tagin muotoon, eli leikkasin tagin Tim Holtzin stanssilla ja päällystin October Afternoonin papereilla, washiteipillä, leimakuvalla (auto Papermanian, teksti FinnStamperin, muut Wycinankan). Lisäksi hieman mininiittejä ja narua.

My nephew #3 also has his birthday during spring/early summer and I made three cards for him as well. Although, this first one is actually a tag, I die cut it with a Tim Holtz die and used October Afternoon papers and some washi tapes to decorate it along with some stamping (the car is a stamp by Papermania, the sentiment is by FinnStamper and says 'congrats', other stamps used are by Wycinanka). To finish it off I used some tiny staples and some twine.

Tämä seuraava kortti on hyvin rankasti inspiroitunut eräästä mallikortista Pattern Play -kurssilta. Embossasin siihen Papertrey Inkin pyörän, johon laitoin napit renkaiksi. Reunustoille laitoin paperia ja washiteippiä ja tekstin leimasin paperi"aurinkoon". Lisäksi vain hieman valkoista enamel accentsia.

This next card is very heavily inspired by a card on the Pattern Play course that I took some time ago. I heat embossed the bike (by Papertrey Ink) with black embossing powder and added some buttons as wheels. I used some bits of paper and washi tape to further decorate the card and added some white enamel accents drops.

Tässä vaiheessa alkoi jo poikakortti-ideat loppua (näin käy aina... :/ ), joten kolmanneksi kortiksi tein ihan simppelin CAS-kortin, johon maskasin Tingtura Designin pilviä ja sateenkaaren, jotka väritin ProMarkereilla. Lisäksi vain onnitteluteksti leimaten.

By the card #3 I was already running out of ideas for boy cards (this always happens to me.... :/ ) so I decided to make a simple CAS card with some Tingtura Design stamps that I masked to form the little scene with clouds and the rainbow. Then I simply stamped the sentiment ('congrats').

Nyt on kevään synttärisumasta selvitty ja seuraava poikasynttärikortti tarvitaan vasta syksyllä. Josko sitä siihen mennessä ehtisi kehitellä taas jotain ideaa... Kiitos, kun käväisit ja kiitos, jos kommentoit! Aurinkoista keskiviikkoa! :)

Veljenpojalle - For my nephew

Tässä taas näytille veljenpojalle menneitä synttärikortteja. Meidän antamamme kortin bloggasin jo aikaisemmin (klikklik), nämä kortit menivät 10 vuotta täyttäneelle pojalle isovanhempien ja isoisoäidin kautta. Veljenpoikani on onneksi sen verran huumorintajuinen, että uskalsin hänelle tehdä kortin tällä Doodlen kissalla, joka ei ehkä ihan kaikkien korttiin sopisi. Kattimattisen väritin ProMarkereilla, tekstin leimasin Papertrey Inkin aakkosilla. Sitten vain leimakuvan kiinnitys mustalle kartongille ja tarrapaloilla korttipohjaan ja lisäksi pari mustaa timanttia.

Here's another batch of birthday cards made for one of my nephews. I've already blogged the card we gave to him (see it here), these cards were given to him by his grandparents and his greatgrandma. My nephew, who turned 10, has a good sense of humour so I thought I could make a card with this DoodleFactory cat for him - this cat is perhaps not for everyone's taste... ;) I coloured the cat with ProMarkers and stamped the sentiment (goes something like 'hey dude, congrats') with Papertrey Ink alphabet stamps. Then I mounted the stamped image on black cardstock, attached it to card base with foam adhesives and added a couple of black rhinestones.

Seuraavakin kortti on melko CAS mutta ajattelin sen sopivan 'miehiseen makuun' :) Tätä varten embossasin valkoisella kohojauheella tuon Wycinankan tähden mustalle kartogille ja leikkasin irti. Tähden keskustaan laitoin pienen chipboard-tähden, jonka olin päällystänyt valkoisella enamel accentsilla. Raidat korttipohjaan tuli washiteipeistä ja mustat pisteet mustasta enamel accentsista.

The next card is quite CAS as well but I thought it might be to the liking of a young gentleman :) I heat embossed the star stamp (by Wycinanka) with white embossing powder on black cardstock and cut it out. I then attached a tiny chipboard star in the middle of it, I had coated the star with white enamel accents. I created the stripes with washi tapes, attached the star with foam adhesives and added the black dots with black enamel accents.

Hän on kolme! - He is three!

...ollut jo hetken aikaa kylläkin, nimittäin meidän ihana esikoisemme täytti tuossa huhtikuun loppupuolella kokonaiset kolme vuotta (tähän kohtaan saa lisätä järkyttynyttä päivittelyä ajan kulumisesta... ja paljon!). Tein hänelle kolme korttia, yhden meiltä ja loput isovanhempien ja isoisoäidin annettavaksi. Ensin esittelyyn meiltä saatu kortti, jossa tietenkin on auto - mitä muuta pienen automiehen kortissa voi olla? Leima on siis Papermanian ja Distress Markereilla väritetty. Säteet taustalla on FinnStamperin leima, tekstileima Paperinauhan setistä ja paperit My Mind's Eyeta. Valmiin kortin koristuksiin ei kuulunut tuo kuvassa näkyvä post-it -lappu, se peittää pojan nimeä, jonka korttiin leimasin ;)

...and has been for a while already. Our gorgeous big boy, our firstborn, turned three at the end of April (and yes, I am still shocked - how can he be three already?!). I made three cards for his birthday, one from us and one for his grandparents to give to him and one for his greatgrandmother to give to him. This first card is from us and, of course, it has a car on it - he is such an enthusiastic carlover :) The stamped image is by Papermania and I coloured it with Distress Markers. The ray stamp behind the car is by FinnStamper and the sentiment says something like 'huuuge congrats'. And the piece of a post-it note that you can see on the photo is not an embellishment, it just covers his name that I stamped there and that I'm not willing to share (yes, I'm overcautious...).

Ja tältä kortti näyttää, kun se avataan. Kyseessä on siis ns. spiral pop-up -kortti, johon tein tuon spiraalin Sizzixin ruusustanssilla ja kiinnitin siihen kolme pientä autoleimakuvaa.

And this is what the card looks like when it's opened. It's a spiral pop-up card. I made the spiral with a Sizzix rose die and attached three little stamped cars to it.

Tämän kortin pojalle antoivat isovanhemmat. Tuon koalaleiman valmistajaa en tiedä, väritin sen kuitenkin Distress Markereilla. Tekstileima taitaa sekin olla Paperinauhan setistä ja paperit vanhoja October Afternooneja. Lisänä nappi.

This card was given to him by his grandparents. I stamped the three koalas (I don't know the manufacturer of the stamp, sorry) and coloured them with Distress Markers. The papers are by October Afternoon and the sentiment says something like 'have an amazingly fun birthday'.

Viimeisenä näytille isoisoäidin antama kortti (pojalla ja isoisoäidillään on muuten 90 vuotta ikäeroa :) ). Leimakuva on Art Journeyn, paperit Authentiqueta, lisänä numero Tim Holtzin stanssilla stanssattuna ja tuollaiset metallipidikkeet.

And lastly, this card was given to our son by his greatgrandmother (the age difference between her and our son is whopping 90 years! :) ). The rubber stamp I used is by Art Journey, it's from the Grunge set. The papers are by Authentique, the number is die cut with a Tim Holtz die and as embellies there are a couple of brads and those metal 'holders' (don't know what they're called really).
