10 varvasta ja pyöreät posket - 10 little toes and round cheeks

Enpä ole ollut kiltti bloggaaja viime aikoina, en. Puolustukseksi sanottakoon, että olen kyllä tehnyt kortteja mutta en vain ole ehtinyt blogata niitä (olisiko kenelläkään myydä pari ylimääräistä tuntia vuorokauteen..?). Hyvitykseksi laiminlyönnistä postaan nyt sitten kolme korttia kerralla, kaikki vauvakortteja tyttövauvalle. Työkaveri tilasi tyttövauvalle kortin ja tein sitten muutaman erilaisen, joista hän saattoi valita mieluisimman.

I have been such a bad blogger lately! I have made cards but I just haven't had time to blog them (anyone got a couple of extra hours to sell to me, anyone..?). As a way of an apology I have not one, but three cards to show you this time. A co-worker of mine asked me to make a baby card for a baby girl, so I made three of them for her to choose from.

Tämä ensimmäinen kuuluu mielestäni "vähemmän on enemmän" -kastiin. Korttipohjan tein Bazzillin valkoisesta kartongista, vaaleanpunainen kartonki on myös Bazzillia. Leima on Hero Artsin ihana Baby footprints. Koristeena on vain leveä satiininauha.

This first card belongs to the "less is more" category. I made the card blank from Bazzill's white cardstock, and the pink cardstock is Bazzill's as well. The adorable rubber stamp is called Baby footprints by Hero Arts and the only embellishment is the wide satin ribbon.


Seuraavan kortin söpöinen leimasin on Marianne Designin Eline's babies. Paperi on BasicGreytä ja kuvioreuna leikattu Martha Stewartin boordileikkurilla. Lisäksi sydännappeja ja valkoista fun flockia vauvan tyynyssä - pitäähän sitä nyt pehmeä tyyny olla... :) Osallistun tällä kortilla tämänviikkoiseen P*skarteluhaasteeseen, jossa teemana on napit.

The cute stamp in this next one is Marianne Design's Eline's babies. The paper is by BasicGrey and I decorated the edge by punching it with Martha Stewart's border punch. Then I added some heart shaped buttons and some white fun flock to her pillow - one has to have a fluffy pillow, right? :) I submit this card to the P*skarteluhaaste (a Finnish challenge blog), the challenge this time is to use buttons.


Tästä viimeisestä kortista tuli minulle mieluisin. Leimasin on ihana Sunday Internationalin Sleeping baby, paperi BasicGreytä. Lisäksi hieman pitsiä, itsetehty korupiikki ja paperikukkia (ne eivät ole oikeasti niin ärhäkän vaaleanpunaisia kuin kuvassa vaan sopivat paremmin kokonaisuuteen). Ja koska tämä kortti on oma lempparini, osallistun sillä Stampin' for the weekend -haasteblogin haasteeseen nro 13 - aiheena vauvateema!

I think I like this last card the best. The stamp is Sunday International's adorable Sleeping baby, the paper is by BasicGrey. I added some lace, a self-made pin and paper flowers to it (the paper flowers aren't so pink in real life, they do match the card better than the picture shows). And this being my favourite of these three baby cards, I submit it to the Stampin' for the weekend challenge number 13 - the challenge is to do something baby themed.

Suloinen tyttö - Sweetie

Tein tämän kortin P*skarteluhaasteeseen, josko nyt onnistuisin paremmin kuin viimeksi... :D Haaste oli tällä kertaa sanallinen: kortissa piti käyttää kolmea kukkaa, kahta paperia ja yhtä leimasinta. Kiitos hauskasta haasteesta, Merja ja Paula! :)

I made this card for P*skarteluhaaste (a Finnish challenge blog) and am hoping that I'll have better luck with this than with the first one.... :) The challenge #2 is verbal: you have to use three flowers, two papers and one stamp in your card.

Tämä suloinen tyttö on Greeting Farmin Annika ja seurakseen Annika on saanut October Afternoonin omppupaperia, Core'dinations-kartonkia ja päivänkakkaroita. Pinnissään Annikalla on hieman glossy accentsia.

This sweetie is the Greeting Farm's Annika and she is placed on some Core'dinations cardstock and October Afternoon's paper. I added some glossy accents on her hair pin.


Tein saman tien toisenkin kortin Annikalla. Tähän käytin BasicGreyn papereita, ruskeaa scrapper's flossia ja napin. Yksinkertaisella linjalla siis.

While I was at it, I made another card with Annika. This time I used some BasicGrey papers, brown scrapper's floss and a button. Quite simple once again.

Joulukortteja - Christmas cards

Taas vaihteeksi pari joulukorttia. Näitä tulee tehtyä aivan liian hitaalla tahdilla, mutta josko sitä tästä nopeutuisi... jollain tavalla... :) Osallistun näillä samalla muutamaan haasteeseen: sekä Dutch Dare Card Challenges -haaste että Our Creative Corner -haaste on tällä kertaa "Joulu elokuussa", joten osallistun niihin. Tällä ensimmäisellä kortilla osallistun myös Papertake Weekly Challenge -haasteeseen, jossa sadannen haasteen kunniaksi sai itse valita vanhoista haasteista mieluisimman. Onnea Papertake Weekly! :) Valitsin Katharinan luonnoksen syyskuun ensimmäiseltä päivältä viime vuonna.

A couple of Christmas cards for a change. I know I'm making these way too slowly, I should be making Christmas cards like a woman possessed but maybe I'll pick up some speed... somewhere.. somehow... :) I'm submitting these cards to some challenges: both the Dutch Dare Card Challenges and Our Creative Corner challenge is having a theme this time, "Christmas in August" so these cards are perfect for those. I also submit this first card to Papertake Weekly Challenge, they're celebrating their 100th challenge and to honour the occasion, you get to choose your favourite from the past challenges. Congrats to Papertake Weekly! :) I chose Katharina's sketch from September 1st, 2008.

Käytin nyt ensimmäistä kertaa Camillalta saamaani Whiff of Joy -leimasinta, komeaa Thomasia. Se ei ehkä ole varsinaisesti joululeimasin mutta käynee sellaiseksi myös, kun kerran paketin päällä istuu :) Paperit ovat BasicGreyn Wassailia, lisäksi ruskeaa scrapper's flossia ja haaraniitillä kiinnitetty metallitähti.

I used the Whiff of Joy stamp that I got from Camilla for the first time now - it is the handsome Thomas, the celebrating eagle. I guess Thomas isn't exactly a Christmas stamp but I wanted to use him as such as he is sitting on a gift box after all :) The papers are BasicGrey's Wassail and I also added some brown scrapper's floss and a metal star attached with a brad. The text says 'Merry Christmas'.


Tein tämän toisen kortin Papertake Weeklyn edelliseen haasteeseen, mutta kuinka ollakaan myöhästyin sen postaamisessa! Mutta luonnos oli hyvä, joten sitä oli varsin mukava kuitenkin käyttää. Tässä on taas Thomas, tällä kertaa punaisen paketin päällä. Papereina on sekä BG:n Wassailia että Fancy Pantsin Happy Holidays -papereita ja Core'dinations-kartonkia. Lisäksi punaista punchinellaa ja dew dropseja.

I actually made this second card for the previous Papertake Weekly challenge but I was too late posting it! However, the sketch was great so I enjoyed using it. This card is featuring Thomas again, this time on a red gift box. The papers are BG's Wassail and Fancy Pants' Happy Holidays as well as some Core'dinations cardstock. I also used some red punchinella and a few dew drops. The text says again 'Merry Christmas'.

Haasteita, haasteita - Challenges galore

Osallistun tällä kortilla kahteen haasteeseen, luonnos on BasicGrey Challenges -blogista ja Crafty Cardmakers -haasteblogissa haasteena oli kukkien käyttö. Minulla oli tarkoitus osallistua tällä myös ensimmäiseen P*skarteluhaasteesen, mutta huomasin juuri, ettei P*skarteluhaastekortilla saa osallistua muihin haasteisiin. No, pitää olla tarkempi ohjeiden kanssa seuraavalla kerralla ;) Tuosta haasteesta tuli kuitenkin korttiin värit, eli lempiväri ja sen vastaväri.

With this card I play along the BasicGrey Challenges (the sketch) and Crafty Cardmakers' challenge (the use of blossoms). I was going to take part in the very first P*skarteluhaaste as well but I just now noticed that they don't encourage piling on challenges. Well next time I just have to be more careful in reading the rules... ;) Anyway, the colours of this card come from that challenge.

Leimakuvana tässä on Greeting Farmin Reeta ja papereina BasicGreyn Lemonadea ja Evaa. Kukkiin käytin Glimmer Mistiä (vaikka se ei varmaankaan kuvasta näy), lisänä hieman pilkkunauhaa ja iso DCWV:n haaraniitti. Tekstin jätin taas kortista pois, toivottavasti luonnoksesta poikkeaminen ei haittaa.

The lovely lady in the stamped image is Reeta from the Greeting Farm and the papers I used are from the Lemonade and Eva series by BasicGrey. I added some Glimmer Mist in the flowers (although you probably cannot see it in the piccie), some dotted ribbon and one big epoxy brad by DCWV. I left the sentiment out this time, I hope it doesn't matter that I didn't follow the sketch in that regard.

Eskarilaiselle! - For the preschool boy!

Veljenpojistani toiseksi vanhin aloittaa huomenna eskarin ja sen kunniaksi tein hänelle kortin. Käytin siinä DoodleFactoryn Blip-robottia, BasicGreyn papereita (Offbeat ja LilyKate) ja aakkostarroja sekä ruuvihaaraniittejä. Yksinkertaista, mutta mielestäni se ainakin tällä kertaa toimii :)

The second eldest of my nephews starts his preschool year tomorrow and to celebrate it I made him a card. I used Blip the robot from the DoodleFactory, some BasicGrey papers (Offbeat and LilyKate) and alphabet stickers, and a couple of brads that look like screws. Quite simple but I think it works :)

Ystävät puussa - Friends on trees

Jokin aika sitten äänestin mieluista korttia Lauran blogissa ja yllätyksekseni voitin Lauran arpoman Odd bird planetin Kelly's tree -leimasimen ja arkin Pink Paisleen tarra-aakkosia. Nämä ihanuudet saapuivat kuluneella viikolla ja tuosta leimasimesta sain idean näihin kortteihin. Paperi on tällä kertaa DCWV:n ja sininen/vihreä kartonki on Bazzillin Dotted-sarjaa. Lisänä ruskeaa scrapper's flossia, vihreä tarrasydän ja teksti Dymolla.

Some time ago I voted my favourite card on Laura's blog and to my surprise I won Odd bird planet's stamp Kelly's tree and a sheet of Pink Paislee alphabet stickers that Laura was giving away. These cuties arrived this past week and as soon as I saw the rubber stamp I knew I had to make these cards. This time I used DCWV's paper and blue/green Bazzill's Dotted cardstock. I also used some brown scrapper's floss, a green heart embellishment and made the text with a Dymo.


Sisäpuolelle kirjoitin tekstin "he kasvavat sydämessä".
The text says "Friends don't grow on trees" and on the inside I wrote "they grown in our hearts".

The Sugar Bowl Challenge #16

Sugar Bowl -haasteessa on tällä kertaa Marlenen luonnos ja lisähaasteena on piirrustelu. Kiitos hienosta luonnoksesta ja haasteesta! :) Leimakuvana on Leanne Ellisin Sugar Nellielle suunnittelema suloinen Moon Beams, jonka leikkasin irti ja kiinnitin scrapper's flossilla - näin leimakuva pääsee vapaasti liikkumaan, kun korttia liikuttaa. Paperit ovat BasicGreytä taas vaihteeksi ;) uutta ihanaa Lemonade-sarjaa. Lisänä nauhoja, nappeja ja metallikoriste. Jätin tietoisesti kortista pois luonnoksessa olleen tekstin ja korvasin sen noilla napeilla, joten hieman kiersin luonnosta taas tällä kertaa.

This time Marlene has made the sketch for the Sugar Bowl challenge and the added challenge is doodling. Thank you for the great sketch and challenge! :) The stamped image is the lovely Moon Beams by Leanne Ellis for Sugar Nellie. I cut the image out and attached it to the card with some scrapper's floss - this way the stamped image can move freely when the card is moved. The papers are by BasicGrey for a change ;) Lemonade is the wonderful new series called. I also added some ribbons, buttons and a metal charm. I slightly deviated from the sketch as I left the sentiment out and replaced it with the buttons.

Näin arkena en pääse kortteja kuvaamaan ennen kuin illalla, joten kuvissa alkaa näkyä varjot, jotka hieman kyllä jo haittaavat kuvassa mutta minkäs teet. Pahoittelut niistä!

During the working week I have to photograph my cards during the evenings and this results in some shadows in the piccies. They don't really look nice but what can you do - sorry 'bout them!
