Papertake Weekly #27

Vihdoinkin joulukortti! Näiden kanssa tulee taas tänä vuonna kiire, mutta... Noh, kuitenkin osallistun tällä kortilla Papertake Weekly Challengeen, jossa vuorossa on luonnos nro 27 . Kortti kuvautui hieman huonosti, oikeasti tuo punainen kartonki, jolle enkeli on leimattu, on melko saman punainen kuin kortissa oleva punainen paperi mutta kuvassa ne kyllä näyttävät täysin eri värisiltä :/

Finally a Christmas card! I haven't made as many Christmas cards as I should've by now but there's still time - I hope... Anyways, I submit this card to Papertake Weekly Challenge, sketch #27. Thank you for this beautiful sketch! Unfortunately, the card didn't photograph that well, the red cardstock with the angel on it is in real life similar to the red in the paper but the photo doesn't show it :/

Isänpäiväkortti #2 - Father's Day card #2

Olipa mukava herätä tänä aamuna, kun koko maailma oli yön aikana muuttunut valkoiseksi! :) Tänne oli satanut useita senttejä lunta, maa oli ihan valkoisena ja puut raskaina lumesta eikä silti ollut kovin kylmä - ihanaa! Pysyisipä lumi nyt vain maassa, ettei tarvitsisi kärsiä mustasta ja pimeästä marraskuusta ollenkaan.

It was such a thrill to wake up this morning - the whole world (well, yes, the little corner of Finland where I live is obviously the whole world... ;) ) had turned all white during the night! There were, and still is, several centimetres of snow on the ground, everything is white and the trees are heaving with snow and it's not even that cold - wonderful! I so hope we get to keep the snow and it won't melt away as it'd be so good to avoid the "normal" November (i.e. wet and dark November).

Tämän päivän kortti on isänpäiväkortti omalle isälleni. Kortit miehille ovat aina jotenkin vaikeita tehdä, paperit ja leimakuvat eivät saa olla liian hempeitä, koristeita ei saa olla liikaa eivätkä ne saa olla tyttömäisiä (ja valtaosa koristeista tuntuu olevan enemmän tai vähemmän tyttömäisiä) mutta silti joitakin koristeita pitäisi olla jne. Tähän korttiin olen kuitenkin tyytyväinen, siitä tuli mielestäni tarpeeksi miehekäs mutta ei kuitenkaan karu - mitä mieltä sinä olet?

Today's card is a father's day card for my own dad. I always find it difficult to make cards for men as the papers and stamped images cannot be too sweet and cute, you can't use too many embellishments and the ones you do use can't be too girly (and let's face it - most of the embellishments are quite girly), etc. But as it happens, I'm quite happy with this card, I think it's manly enough without being too bare - what do you think?

Isänpäiväkortti - Father's day card (Dutch Dare #63)

Korttia pukkaa! Tein tämän miehen isälle isänpäiväkortiksi ja osallistun sillä myös Dutch Dare Card Challenges -haasteeseen numero 63, johon luonnoksen on tehnyt Cathy (asiasta kolmanteen: Cathyllä on myös bloginamua tarjolla, joten kannattaa kurkata blogiinsa!).

I made this card for my hubby's dad for father's day (which in Finland is in November). I also submit it to the Dutch Dare Card Challenges. The challenge #63 is a sketch designed by Cathy (who, may I point out, is offering fabulous blog candy, so be sure to check it out!) - thank you, Cathy, for this challenging sketch!

The Sugar Bowl Challenge # 22

Vihdoinkin ehdin taas osallistua Sugar Bowl -haasteeseen, menossa on haaste 22 ja lisähaasteena luonnoksen lisäksi on pitsin käyttö. Luonnoksen on tällä kertaa tehnyt Kathy.

I'm thrilled as I'm taking part in the 22nd Sugar Bowl Challenge, it's been awhile since I last had the time to join in the fun. The lovely sketch is designed by Kathy - thank you for the inspiring sketch! - and the 'please include' option is lace.

Käytin nyt ensimmäistä kertaa uutta Sugar Nellie -leimasintani, kyseessä on Diane Dudan Pure of heart - herttaisen suloinen enkeli! Papereina taas BasicGrey (Eskimo kisses ja Sugared), lisäksi vaadittu pitsi, nappeja ja kukkia. Hetken mietin, sopivatko kukat joulukorttiin, mutta laitoin ne silti, sopivat tai ei :)

I used my brand new Sugar Nellie stamp for the first time, this is Diane Duda's Pure of heart and I just love her - she is such a sweet angel! The papers are once again by BasicGrey (Eskimo Kisses and Sugared), plus the required lace, some buttons and flowers. I wasn't sure if flowers and Christmas cards go together, but I used them anyway :) Hopefully I'm the only one having doubts about their suitability....

Synttärikortti - Birthday card

Tein tämän kortin jo jonkin aikaa sitten, mutta saan sen näytille vasta nyt. Tein itse asiassa kaksi samanlaista korttia, toisen sinisen ja toisen punaisen, mutta enpä tietenkään huomannut ottaa kuvaa molemmista... :)

I made this card some time ago, but I haven't had a chance to blog it until now. Actually, I made two similar cards with this stamp, one in red and one in blue, but for some odd reason I only photographed one of them... :)

Tämä hurmaava rouvashenkilö kakkunsa kanssa on siis Art Impressionsin Burnadette ja teksti on Paulan ja Merjan ensimmäisestä leimasinsetistä, jotenkin ne sopivat vallan loistavasti yhteen! Paperit ovat taas kerran BasicGreytä (Cupcake) ja koska tuo leimakuva on sen verran iso, ei mukaan koristeeksi mahtunut kuin nauha ja nappi.

This lovely lady with her cake is Burnadette by Art Impressions. The text says "25 - again?" and somehow it suits the stamped image to a tee! :) The papers are once again by BasicGrey (Cupcake) and the only embellishments I used are a piece of ribbon and a button.

P*skarteluhaaste #9

P*skarteluhaasteen 9. haaste pitää sisällään punaisen ja vihreän - mutta ei joulua! Tein sitten tällaisen "yleiskortin" ilman tekstiä. Käytin tässä leimasinta uudesta Autumn leavesin setistäni (Nature stamps), Fancy Pantsin nauhaa ja BasicGreyn Romani-sarjan papereita. Melko simppeliä taas vaihteeksi, mutta tällä mennään. Toivottavasti muuten kortissa sai käyttää muitakin värejä eikä vain punaista ja vihreää....

The 9th P*skarteluhaaste challenges us to use the colours red and green but Christmas is banned this time so you're not allowed to make a Christmas card. I decided to make a basic greeting card with no text and I used a stamp from my new Autumn leaves set (Nature stamps), a ribbon by Fancy Pants and papers by BasicGrey (Romani). This turned out to be quite a simple card but hopefully not a boring one! And I do hope one was allowed to use other colours as well and not just red and green....

10 varvasta ja pyöreät posket - 10 little toes and round cheeks

Enpä ole ollut kiltti bloggaaja viime aikoina, en. Puolustukseksi sanottakoon, että olen kyllä tehnyt kortteja mutta en vain ole ehtinyt blogata niitä (olisiko kenelläkään myydä pari ylimääräistä tuntia vuorokauteen..?). Hyvitykseksi laiminlyönnistä postaan nyt sitten kolme korttia kerralla, kaikki vauvakortteja tyttövauvalle. Työkaveri tilasi tyttövauvalle kortin ja tein sitten muutaman erilaisen, joista hän saattoi valita mieluisimman.

I have been such a bad blogger lately! I have made cards but I just haven't had time to blog them (anyone got a couple of extra hours to sell to me, anyone..?). As a way of an apology I have not one, but three cards to show you this time. A co-worker of mine asked me to make a baby card for a baby girl, so I made three of them for her to choose from.

Tämä ensimmäinen kuuluu mielestäni "vähemmän on enemmän" -kastiin. Korttipohjan tein Bazzillin valkoisesta kartongista, vaaleanpunainen kartonki on myös Bazzillia. Leima on Hero Artsin ihana Baby footprints. Koristeena on vain leveä satiininauha.

This first card belongs to the "less is more" category. I made the card blank from Bazzill's white cardstock, and the pink cardstock is Bazzill's as well. The adorable rubber stamp is called Baby footprints by Hero Arts and the only embellishment is the wide satin ribbon.


Seuraavan kortin söpöinen leimasin on Marianne Designin Eline's babies. Paperi on BasicGreytä ja kuvioreuna leikattu Martha Stewartin boordileikkurilla. Lisäksi sydännappeja ja valkoista fun flockia vauvan tyynyssä - pitäähän sitä nyt pehmeä tyyny olla... :) Osallistun tällä kortilla tämänviikkoiseen P*skarteluhaasteeseen, jossa teemana on napit.

The cute stamp in this next one is Marianne Design's Eline's babies. The paper is by BasicGrey and I decorated the edge by punching it with Martha Stewart's border punch. Then I added some heart shaped buttons and some white fun flock to her pillow - one has to have a fluffy pillow, right? :) I submit this card to the P*skarteluhaaste (a Finnish challenge blog), the challenge this time is to use buttons.


Tästä viimeisestä kortista tuli minulle mieluisin. Leimasin on ihana Sunday Internationalin Sleeping baby, paperi BasicGreytä. Lisäksi hieman pitsiä, itsetehty korupiikki ja paperikukkia (ne eivät ole oikeasti niin ärhäkän vaaleanpunaisia kuin kuvassa vaan sopivat paremmin kokonaisuuteen). Ja koska tämä kortti on oma lempparini, osallistun sillä Stampin' for the weekend -haasteblogin haasteeseen nro 13 - aiheena vauvateema!

I think I like this last card the best. The stamp is Sunday International's adorable Sleeping baby, the paper is by BasicGrey. I added some lace, a self-made pin and paper flowers to it (the paper flowers aren't so pink in real life, they do match the card better than the picture shows). And this being my favourite of these three baby cards, I submit it to the Stampin' for the weekend challenge number 13 - the challenge is to do something baby themed.
