Kukkia! - Flowers!

Tein tämän kortin pariin haasteeseen. Time Out Challengesissa on haasteena caseta kortti (casettava kortti näkyy täällä) ja Simon Says Stampin Flickr Challengesissa on teemana 'Mother's Day/Flowers'. Inspiraatiokortista poimin omaani kukat, värit ja asettelun. Kukkaset on leimattu Simonin Artful Flowers -setin kukilla ja Simonin musteilla, valkoiset lehdet taas on stanssattu Penny Blackin stanssilla. Ympyrän stanssasin niin ikään Simonin stansseilla ja taustan leimasin Simonin Diagonal Stripes -leimalla. Ympyrän takana on hieman vellumia, johon leimasin tekstileiman ja koristeiksi laitoin muutaman paljetin.

I made this card for a couple of challenges. First, there's Time Out Challenges where the challenge is to case, with your own twist, a card which you can see here, and the theme in Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge is 'Mother's Day/Flowers'. From the inspiration card, I took the flowers, the colours and the layout. I stamped the flowers with Simon Says Stamp's set 'Artful Flowers' and Simon Says Stamp inks and fussy cut them out. The white leaves I diecut with a Penny Black die. I diecut the circle frame with Simon Says Stamp's dies and stamped the background with - you guessed it! - Simon Says Stamp's 'Diagonal Stripes' background stamp. I attached some vellum behind the circle frame and stamped my sentiment on it (it says 'Congrats' in Finnish), and as embellies I used some sequins.

Hyvää äitienpäivää! - Happy Mother's Day!

Oliko ikävä!? :D Edellisestä bloggauksesta ehti vierähtää useampi kuukausi, hups! Hiljaisuus blogin puolella on tarkoittanut vilskettä ja muutoksia oikean elämän puolella, palasin alkuvuodesta töihin kotiäitivuosien jälkeen ja kiirettä on pitänyt! Kortteiluintokin ehti olla jäissä jonkun aikaa, mutta nyt taas tuntuu innostus heräilevän - josko tänne blogiinkin tulisi taas hieman useammin jotain näytille...

Well, did you miss me!? :D It's been a while, 6 months to be precise, since my last blog post. The silence in my blog has meant quite the opposite in real life. I returned to work after 6 years as a stay-at-home mum and my free time is even rarer these days than it used to be... I even lost my cardmaking mojo for a while there but now I can feel it slowly coming back - maybe now you'll see some cards here in the old blog-o from time to time, you never know...

Äitienpäivän kunniaksi pari äitienpäiväkorttia näytille. Ensimmäisen kortin tein omalle äidilleni. Käytin siihen Simon Says Stampin ihania Spring Flowers -leimoja, jotka embossasin valkoisella ja väritin Distress Markereilla. Tekstileima on Papertrey Inkiä (suomenkielistä äitienpäivätoivotusta minulla ei olekaan, joten englannilla mentiin). Taustapaperi on Kaisercraftia ja koristeena on hieman nyöriä ja muutama tippa Liquid pearlsiä.

It's Mother's Day today in Finland and I've got a couple of Mother's Day cards to show you, this first went to my Mum. The stamps I used are the gorgeous Spring Flowers by Simon Says Stamp, I heat embossed them in white and coloured with Distress Markers. The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink. The background paper is by Kaisercraft, and as embellies I used some twine and a few tiny drops of Liquid Pearls.

Toinen kortti meni anopille. Käytin tähänkin Spring Flowers -leimoja ja väritykseen Distress Markereita ja leikkasin kukat irti. Tekstileima on myös Simon Says Stampia ja kukkapaperi Kaisercraftia. Kukkapaperiin stanssasin ympyräaukon ja laitoin taustalle keltaista paperia, koristeiksi lisäsin muutaman puolihelmen.

The second card went to my Mother-In-Law. I used the same Spring Flowers stamps for this card and coloured them with Distress Markers as well before fussycutting them out. I stamped the sentiment (by Simon Says Stamp) on a fish-tail banner. The lovely flowery background paper is by Kaisercraft, I diecut a circle window onto it and placed some yellow paper behind it. As embellies I used some sticky back pearls.

Hymyile! - Smile!

Tein kortin ystävälle. Leimasin tähän kukkarykelmän Paper Smoochesin Blossoming Buds -setistä ja väritin sen Copiceilla. Tekstileima on Papertrey Inkiä. Koristeiksi tuli muutama enamel dotsi ja leipurinnyöriä. Sitten vain kerrostin paneelin kartongille tarrapaloilla ja kiinnitin korttipohjaan.

I needed to make a card for a friend. I chose to use this sweet floral image from the 'Blossoming Buds' set by Paper Smooches, and I coloured it with my Copics. The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink. As embellishments, I used some enamel dots and a piece of baker's twine. I attached the panel onto the pink cardstock with some foam adhesives, so it is a bit raised, and then attached the whole thing on the cardbase.

Kortin sisäosankin koristelin. Leimasin sinne tuon tekstin PTI:n leimalla ja muutaman pienen kukkasen tuosta samasta Paper Smoochesin setistä.

This time I even stamped the inside of the card as well (I usually leave the insides blank). I used a sentiment by PTI and a few tiny flowers by Paper Smooches.

Joulurauhaa - Christmas Peace

Pikkuhiljaa alkaa joulukorttejakin syntymään. Tässä yksi lempparileimasimellani tehty, taidan tehdä tällä joka joulu muutaman kortin mutta kun se on niin ihana... :) Eli kyseessä on Hero Artsin Winter Trees, jonka leimasin Heron Shadow Inkillä (Stone Wash). Alareunan stanssasin WPlus9:n Landscape Borders -stanssilla, sekä leimakuvan että sitä reunustavan harmaan kartongin, ja sitten leimasin tekstin siihen harmaalla. Lumihiutaleen leikkasin Marthan leikkurilla, taustalle hieman hopealankaa sykeröllä ja keskelle paljetti. Leimakuvaan vielä muutama timantti ja taustapaperiksi Lili of the Valley'', niin kortti oli valmis.

I've finally started making some Christmas cards for this year, I know I'm late already but I'm trying not to panic... ;) This first one is made with one of my all time favourite Christmas stamps (I think I make a few cards with it every year), it's Hero Arts' 'Winter Trees'. I stamped it with Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Stone Wash, and then I die cut the bottom with a WPlus9 die from the 'Landscape Borders' set. I did the same to the grey cardstock framing the stamped image. The sentiment (it says something like 'Christmas Peace' in Finnish) is stamped in grey. As embellies, there's a snowflake that I punched with a Martha Stewart punch, I added some silver string behind it and topped it off with a sequin, and then there are some rhinestones. The background paper is by Lili of the Valley.

Tiikerililja - Tiger lily

Tämä kortti tuntuu olevan noiden kahden edellisen kortin yhdistelmä, hyvin olen pysynyt simppeli kukkakortti -linjalla... :D Eli tässä taas Penny Blackin Tiger Lily Copiceilla väritettynä ja irtileikattuna, taustan paperit on LOTV:ia. Banneri stanssattu My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja siihen leimattu FinnStamperin tekstileima. Lisänä vähän nyöriä ja peel-off-tarroilla numerot.

Another day, another flower card... It seems that I've been making a lot of flower cards recently, hope you're not getting bored with them... Anyways, I used Penny Black's Tiger Lily stamp again, coloured the flower with my Copics and fussy cut it out. I die cut the banner with a My Favorite Things die and stamped the sentiment ('Congratulations on your special day' in Finnish) on it. The patterned papers are by Lili of the Valley. Hope you like it :)

Kukkia - Flowers

Tämäkin oli tilauskortti, tällä kertaa 64 vuotta täyttävälle naiselle. Leimakuvana tässä käytin Penny Blackin ihanaa Scented Messagea, jonka väritin Distress Markereilla ja stanssasin Simonin ommelreunastansseilla. Bannerin stanssasin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja leimasin siihen FinnStamperin tekstin. Taustalla on hieman kultapaperia ja Lili of the Valley'n kuviopaperia. Koristeina muutama minipaljetti ja hieman narua ja pari pientä helmeä.

I was asked to make a birthday card for a lady turning 64 and this is what I came up with. I chose to use 'Scented Message' by Penny Black as my stamped image, and I coloured it with Distress Markers and die cut it with a Simon Says Stamp stitched edge die. I die cut the fishtail banner with a My Favorite Things die and stamped the sentiment on it (it says something like 'Congratulations on your special day' in Finnish). For the background, I used some golden glitter paper and some patterned paper by Lili of the Valley. As embellies, there are some tiny sequins, a bit of twine and a couple of tiny beads on the twine.

Tiikerinlilja nelikymppiselle - Tiger Lily for Her 40th

Ohops, taas on mennyt melkein kuukausi viime postauksesta..?? Mihin ihmeeseen aika oikein kiirehtii, en tunnu ehtivän mukaan.. No, nyt kuitenkin koitan ehtiä postata tämän kortin, tein sen tilauksesta 40 vuotta täyttävälle naiselle. Mielestäni tuo Pennyn tiikerinlilja on sen verran tyylikäs, että se käypi hyvin täysien kymppien synttärikorttiin mutta on kuitenkin tarpeeksi nuorekas. Väritin sen Copiceilla ja leikkasin irti. Taustalle stanssasin pienet kehykset ja kiinnitin kukan tarrapaloilla siihen päälle. Taustapaperi on Lili of the Valley'ä, numerot ja teksti ääriviivatarroja ja koristeina jokunen paljetti. Yksinkertaista taas mutta toivottavasti tyylikästä!

I just do not know where time goes, it seems to fly past with at least double the speed it used to... It's been almost a month since my last blog post and I thought it was only a few days... Oh well, I'm here now with a new card :) I was asked to make a birthday card for a lady turning 40 and this is what I came up with. I chose to use this gorgeous 'Tiger Lily' by Penny Black as I think it's stylish and elegant enough for a " milestone" birthday card, yet it also has "young vibe" to it (as opposed to roses, for example). Anyways, I coloured it with my Copics and fussy cut it out. I die cut the little frame in the background and attached the flower on top of it with some foam adhesives for a little extra interest. The background paper is by Lili of the Valley, the numbers and sentiment (it says 'Congrats' in Finnish) are peel-off stickers, and as embellies there are some sequins. Hope the recipient liked the card!
