Merkkipäivänä - On your special day

Pikainen postaus tälle illalle, että ehdin osallistua tällä kortilla Less is More -haasteeseen. Haasteena oli siis luonnos, jonka mukaan tämän kortin tein (käänsin vain luonnosta tavallaan peilikuvaksi). Leimakuva on Altenew'n Beautiful Day -setistä Gansai Tambi -vesiväreillä väritettynä. Kukan kohotin pohjasta kohotarroilla. Tekstileima on Dekoretten ja taustan viivat stanssasin Memory Boxin Straight Stitches -stanssilla. Koristeena muutama Nuvo Crystal Drops -tippa.

Just a quick post from me today so I can enter my card to the current Less is More challenge. I followed the sketch given to make this card but I kind of flipped it around and made it in mirror image. I used Altenew's 'Beautiful Day' stamps and dies for my focal point, coloured them with my Gansai Tambi watercolours and attached to the base (the flower is attached with foam adhesives for a little extra interest). The sentiment says 'On your special day' in Finnish and the lines in the background I made with a Memory Box die 'Straight Stitches'. I also added a few drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops to my card

Kuumailmapallo - Hot Air Balloon

Jo toinen postaus tälle illalle! Ekan näet täällä tai rullaamalla alaspäin. Tein tämän kortin neljään eri haasteeseen. Luonnos on CAS(E) This Sketch! -haasteesta, inspiraatio Time Out -haasteesta, värit Seven Hills Craftsin haasteesta ja aihe Simon Says Stampin maanantaihaasteesta. Kuumailmapallo on Lawn Fawnin Blue Skies -setistä, väritin sen Gansai Tambi -vesiväreillä ja kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. Tekstileima tulee Mama Elephantin Organic Blooms -setistä ja taustan stanssasin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla.

I made this card for four challenges in mind, CAS(E) This Sketch! provided the sketch, Time Out Challenges provided the inspiration, Seven Hills Crafts provided the colours, and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge provided the idea for the focal point. The hot air balloon comes from the Lawn Fawn set 'Blue Skies', I coloured the image with my Gansai Tambi watercolours and attached it with some foam adhesives. The sentiment comes from the Mama Elephant set 'Organic Blooms' and it is attached with foam adhesives as well. I die cut the background with the 'Wonky Stitched Rectangles' die by My Favorite Things and attached it to card base.

Narsissit - Daffodils

Kevättä kohden mennään (toivottavasti nopsaan..!) ja siksipä narsissitkin pääsevät jo kortteihin. Käytin tähän Simon Says Stampin Friendship Blooms -leimoja ja -stansseja. Leimakuvat väritin Copiceilla ja kiinnitin pohjaan, osan tarrapaloilla koholle. Taustalle stanssasin kuviopaperia My Favorite Thingsin stansseilla ja Dekoretten tekstileiman embossasin vellumille. Paperit ovat sekalaista seurakuntaa ja koristeina muutama tippa liquid pearlsia.

I'm so longing for spring already (and there's still snow on the ground here...), and to ease the longing I used these gorgeous daffodils from the Simon Says Stamp set 'Friendship Blooms'. I coloured the stamped images with my Copics and attached some of them with foam adhesives. I die cut the patterned paper behind the flowers with 'Wonky Stitched Rectangles' die by My Favorite Things. I heat embossed my sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) onto a strip of vellum and added a few drops of liquid pearls as embellishments.

Ruusu ystävänpäiväksi - A Rose for a Friend

Ruusua ystävälle! Tähän ystävänpäiväkorttiin käytin Stampendousin Cottage Rose -leimaa, jonka väritin Gansai Tambi -vesiväreillä. Leikkasin koko paneelin irti Simon Says Stampin ommelreunastanssilla ja tekstileimaksi käytin Dekoretten leimaa. Paneelin kiinnitin korttipohjaan, jonka taittelin Simon Says Stampin vihreästä kartongista.

This is quite a simple card with no fuss. I used the lovely 'Cottage Rose' stamp by Stampendous and coloured the image with my Gansai Tambi watercolours. I die cut the whole panel with a stitched edge die by Simon Says Stamp and stamped my sentiment on it. Then I attached the panel on some green Simon Says Stamp cardstock.

Keväisiä kukkasia - Spring Flowers

Lisää ystävänpäiväkortteja. Käytin tähän korttiin tuollaista ihanaa stanssattua kehystä, jonka sain Patricialta. Sen taustalle kiinnitin yksivärisen kuviopaperin ja leimasin siihen tekstileiman. Kukkaset leimasin Simon Says Stampin Spring Flowers -setin leimoilla, stanssasin irti, väritin Gansai Tambeilla ja lisäsin hieman yksityiskohtia valkoisella Gelly Roll -kynällä. Osan kukkasista ja lehdistä kiinnitin tarrapaloilla hieman koholle.  Koristeiksi muutama paljetti.

Some time ago I received some beautiful die cuts from my lovely bloggy friend Patricia (thank you once again, Patricia!) and I used one of them on this card. I attached the die cut frame onto some plain patterned paper and stamped my sentiment on it. Then I stamped and die cut the flowers (from the 'Spring Flowers' set by Simon Says Stamp) and coloured them with my Gansai Tambi watercolours. I added some dots to them with a white Gelly Roll pen and attached some of them with foam adhesives for extra interest. As embellishments, there are some sequins.

Sieviä kukkasia - Sweet Flowers

Mama Elephantilla jatketaan. Tämä kukkanen on Butterfly Kisses -setistä, stanssasin sen irti ja väritin Gansai Tambi -vesiväreillä. Sitaisin sen varten hieman nyöriä rusetille ja kiinnitin kukkasen kohotarroilla. Taustalle sievä doily ja KaiserCraftin kuviopaperia, tekstileima FinnStamperin. Tein tämän kortin kahteen haasteeseen, Time Out Challengesin sanahaasteeseen ja Simon Says Stampin Monday haasteeseen, jossa haettiin mieluisinta työkalua - minulla ne on Cuttlebug ja vesivärisivellin (vesivärit taitavat olla se kaikkein lempparein väritystapa minulla).

Another Mama Elephant card from me! This pretty flower comes from the set 'Butterfly Kisses'. I die cut it out and coloured it with my Gansai Tambi watercolours. I tied a little bow to its stem and attached the flower with foam adhesives so it's a bit raised. I added a sweet little doily behind it and  used patterned paper from a KaiserCraft pad. The sentiment says 'For a Friend' in Finnish. I made this card for two challenges. First there's an 'Inspired by Words' challenge over at Time Out Challenges and the saying we are to be inspired by is 'Friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can't break them apart' - this is a card for a friend to celebrate "A Day of Friends" (that's the Finnish equivalent of Valentine's Day). The second challenge is Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge where they want us to use our favourite tool - I've actually used two here: my trusty Cuttlebug (I think I use die cutting on most of my cards) and my watercolour brush (watercolours are my favourite method of colouring).

Ystävälle - For a Friend

Ystävänpäiväkortteja on tullut tehtyä jokunen, tässä niistä ensimmäinen näytille. Leimakuva tässä on Mama Elephantin ihana Organic Blooms, jonka väritin Gansai Tambi -vesiväreillä ja stanssasin osittain irti. FinnStamperin tekstileimalla leimasin vellumille ja taustapaperiksi laitoin Simple Storiesin raitapaperia. Yhtään koristetta en saanut tähän laitettua, mutta tuo leimakuva itsessään on jo niin kaunis, että ehkä se ei koristeita kaipaakaan.

In Finland, Valentine's Day is actually called (roughly translated) A Day of Friends and so we send cards to our friends, not our significant others or love interests (I know, it's kind of odd but that's how it is..). So I've made a few cards that can be sent to friends to celebrate this day. For this card, I used the gorgeous stamp 'Organic Blooms' by Mama Elephant and I coloured it with my Gansai Tambi watercolours. I partially die cut it out using Simon Says Stamp's stitched edge die. I stamped my sentiment ('For a Friend' in Finnish) onto a strip of vellum. The background paper is by Simple Stories. I did not manage to use any embellishments for this card (I tried!) but I think that the stamp itself is so pretty that maybe it doesn't really need any extra embellishments.
