Vesivärikukkia - Watercolour flowers

Käytin taas pitkästä aikaa vesiväritekniikkaa tässä kortissa. Tykkään sen antamasta lopputuloksesta valtavasti ja ihmettelen aina, kun sitä käytän, että miksi en käytä sitä useammin. No, nyt siis kuitenkin väritin Hero Artsin Wildflower Garden -setin leimasimen kynillä (Distress Markers, Kuretake Art&Graphic), suihkautin vedellä ja leimasin akvarellipaperiin. Taustan olin leimannut Hero Artsin Aged Background Blockilla ja HA Shadow Inkillä. Paperi on Fancy Pantsin ja lisänä on hieman scrapper's flossia ja nappi.

I used a faux watercolour technique on this card. I love the effect it gives and every time I use the technique, I wonder why I don't use it more often. So, I coloured a stamp from the Hero Arts Wildflower Garden set with different markers (Distress Markers, Kuretake Art&Graphic), spritzed it with some water and stamped on aquarelle paper. I had already stamped the background with Hero Arts Aged Background Block and some HA Shadow Ink. The patterned paper is by Fancy Pants and as embellies there's some scrapper's floss and a button.

Onnea futarille! - Congrats, footballer!

Toisella veljenpojallani on toukokuussa synttärit ja hän on innokas jalkapallon pelaaja, joten futarikorttihan hänelle täytyi tehdä (välihuomautus: enpä ole varmaan koskaan ollut näin ajoissa synttärikortin kanssa, reilua kuukautta ennen!). Tuo futaaja on Papermanian setistä, väritin sen Distress Markereilla, paperi on Dovecraftin. Lisänä vain jokunen chipboard-kuvio, jotka väritin ruskealla ProMarkerilla, sopivat kortin väreihin paremmin niin.

One of my nephews has his birthday in May and he is a keen footballer so I made him a footie inspired card. The stamp I used is by Papermania and I coloured the image with my Distress Markers. The paper is by Dovecraft and the only embellishments are few chipboard arrowheads that I coloured brown with a ProMarker, so that they'd suit the colours of the card better.

Hänelle - For her

Tein pari naiselle sopivaa korttia Hero Artsin huhtikuun haasteen innoittamana. Pari siksi, että en osannut päättää, kumpi muste taustalle sopii paremmin: vaalea (Hero Artsin Shadow Ink väriltään Soft Blossom) vai tummempi (HA Shadow Ink Bubble Gum). Käyttämäni taustaleimasin on uusi ihastukseni, Hero Artsin Aged Background Block - ihana, ihana taustaleima :) Tuo korsi on niinikään Hero Artsia, Silhouette Spray nimeltään. Tekstileima on Stempelkellerin (kokonaisuudessaan tekstileimassa lukee "Onnea sinulle" mutta leimasin siitä vain tuon loppuosan). Lisänä hieman washiteippiä, vellum-perhonen, paljetteja ja muutama Glossy Accents -täplä.

I made a couple of cards 'for her', inspired by the Hero Arts April challenge. I made two because I couldn't decide which colour I liked best for the background: the lighter one (Hero Arts Shadow Ink Soft Blossom) or the darker one (HA Shadow Ink Bubble Gum). The background stamp I used is my new favourite, it's 'Aged Background Block' by Hero Arts - love! The 'Silhouette Spray' stamp is also by Hero Arts. The sentiments says 'For you'. As embellies there are some washi tape, a butterfly punched out of vellum, some sequins and few dots of Glossy Accents.

No niin, synttärikorttisarja jatkuu. Tässä on toinen tekemäni kortti 12 vuotta täyttävälle veljenpojalleni, koitin tehdä siitä eri tyylisen kuin ensimmäisestä kortista. Tähän meni kuviopapereita, washiteippiä, chipboard-kuvioita, numeroleimasimet 7Gypsiesiltä ja tekstileima Papertrey Inkiltä. Aika simppeli kortti mutta toivottavasti mieluinen. Pahoittelut muuten luokattoman huonosta kuvasta, jostain syystä valo väisteli minua ja korttia kuvanottohetkellä :/

OK, here's another birthday card I made for my nephew who'll turn 12 later this month. I tried to make this as different as possible from the first card, I think I succeeded. For this card I used some patterned papers, some washitape, some chipboard embellishments, stamps by 7Gypsies (the number 12) and Papertrey Ink (the sentiment). I'm sorry about the bad photo, for some reason I wasn't able to catch a good light for taking it :/

Poikainen onnittelu - Boyish congrats

Kevät tietää minulle varsinaista poikakorttisavottaa, sillä sen aikana on suvussa useamman pojan synttärit ja jokaiselle teen ainakin yhden kortin (yleensä kaksikin, sillä äitini "tilaa" synttärikortit pojille minulta). Korttisarjan aloittaa nyt 12 vuotta täyttävälle veljenpojalle menevä kortti (synttärit eivät ole vielä olleet mutta oletan, että veljenpoikani ei hurjemmin blogissani pyöri, joten uskaltanen kortin blogata... ;) ). Leimakuva tässä on Papermanian ja paperit Dovecraftin, tekstileima Stempelkellerin. Leimakuvan väritin Distress Markereilla. Lisänä nappi, hieman leipurinnyöriä ja pieni klemmari.

When I think of spring, I think of... cards for boys! That is because during spring, there are several birthdays in the family, and all of them require at least one boy card (usually two because I also make cards for my mother to give). To start this string of boy cards, here's a card I made for my nephew who'll turn 12 later this month (I suspect he doesn't really visit my blog so it's safe to blog the card ;) ). The stamp I used is by Papermania and I coloured it with Distress Markers. The papers are by Dovecraft and the sentiment says something like 'huge congrats'. As embellies there are a button, some baker's twine and a tiny paperclip.

Onnea isolla kukalla - Congrats with a large flower

Tässä taas pari melko simppeliä korttia. Tuo Hero Artsin Large Flower on niin ihana, etten oikein osaa laittaa sen seuraksi paljon mitään, se tuntuu "pärjäävän" yksinkin niin hyvin. Näissä molemmissä embossasin kukan valkoisella jauheella vesiväripaperille ja väritin Distress Staineilla. Lehdet tein kukan terälehdistä. Taustalle leimasin Hero Artsin Looped Flower Pattern -taustaleimalla ja embossasin senkin valkoisella. Kukan kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. Tekstileima on FinnStamperin.

I love this Hero Arts stamp ('Large Flower') so much, it's so beautiful that a card doesn't really need much else beside it. For these two cards, I heat embossed the Large Flower with white embossing powder on some aquarelle paper and coloured with Distress Stains. I made the leaves with the petals of the flower and just coloured them green. I attached the flower with some foam adhesive on the card base onto which I had heat embossed the Hero Arts 'Looped Flower Pattern' background stamp. The sentiments says 'Congrats on your special day'.

Haasteellisia kerroksia - Challenging layers

Tätä korttia väkersin kauan. Tiesin, mitä korttiin halusin mutta tuntui, etten millään saa niitä niin kuin haluan. Lopulta osaset asettuivat jotenkin paikoilleen mutta en edelleenkään tiedä, pidänkö kortista. Tulipa nyt ainakin tehtyä ;) Paperit tässä on Cosmo Cricketiä, ruutuleima Hero Artsin ja kukkaleima FinnStamperin.

This card took a long time to make. I knew what I wanted to include in the card but somehow I just didn't get them to look right. Finally, I assembled the card as is but I'm still not sure whether I like it or not. The papers here are by Cosmo Cricket, the grid stamp is by Hero Arts and the flower stamp is by FinnStamper.
