Pöllöjä - Owls

Viime viikonloppuisessa askartelumiitissä Korttikarkurin Nonni haastoi minut osallistumaan Inkspirationalin kuvahaasteeseen valitsemallaan leimasetillä (BasicGreyn Grow-a-garden) ja minähän otin haasteen vastaan, varsinkin kun Nonni itse suoriutui vastahaasteesta kunniakkaasti :) (haastoin Nonnin käyttämään Stickles-kimalleliimaa suoraan pullosta ilman välikäsiä tai apuvälineitä). Maskasin tähän korttiin tuon väripaneelin isoimmilla koskaan näkemilläni Post-it-lapuilla (kiitos, Nonni! :) ) ja mustetin sen Distress Inkeillä. Oksa ja pöllöt ovat tuosta BasicGreyn setistä ja tekstileima taas Inkadinkadon lintusetistä (Bird Assortment), kaikki leimattu harmaalla Archival Inkillä. Muuta siinä ei olekaan, simppelillä mennään taas ;)

I met my crafty friend Nonni from the Korttikarkuri blog last weekend and was invited by her to take part in the current Inkspirational challenge and I was to use the stamp set she chose for me (it was BasicGrey's 'Grow-a-garden', an oldie but goodie). I accepted her invitation and of course I had to challenge her as well (naturally! ;) ), so I asked her to use Stickles glitter glue straight out of the bottle, something she never does. She did her part beautifully, I have to say, so I hope I'm filling my part any way nearly as well... I did some masking in my card and used the biggest Post-it notes I've ever seen (a gift from Nonni, thank you! :) ) to mask the panel and then sponged some Distress Inks onto it. The branch and the owls are from the BasicGrey stamp set and the sentiment is from an Inkadinkado stamp set called 'Bird Assortment', I used grey Archival Ink to stamp them all. And that's pretty much all I did, it's once again quite a simple card.

Onnea ja iloa - Wishing you happiness

Joko alkaa Summer Card Camp 2 kyllästyttää? No eipä auta, tässä tulee taas sinne tehty kortti ;D Viime viikolla leirillä oli näytillä aivan älyttömän kaunis vellumille leimattu kortti. Minä yritin tehdä samanmoista mutta ihan en onnistunut... Mallikortissa oli siis leimattu vellumille, jota oli sitten kerrostettu useampi kerros päällekkäin niin, että leimakuvat kuulsivat kauniisti eri kerroksista. Itse en saanut tuota kerrostusta onnistumaan nätisti niin tein sitten oman versioni kortista, ihan vain yksikerroksisena :D Väritin siis Inkadinkadon leiman Distress Markereilla ja leimasin sen vellumille, leimasin kuvan kolmeen eri kertaan. Sitten vain kiinnitin sen korttipohjaan, kiinnitin siihen palan kartonkia ja leimasin tekstin (Papertrey Inkiä) ja koristeeksi pari huopa"nappia" ja leipurinnyöriä. Siinäpä se, yksinkertaisuudessaan.

Are you getting bored of Summer Card Camp 2 already? Hope not as I've got yet another SCC2 card to show you :D This time I tried to replicate a sample card from last week, it was an absolute beauty featuring stamping on vellum, but as it happens it didn't really work for me... The original card had several layers of vellum with stamping on each layer, the stamped images looked beautiful showing through the different vellum layers. As I said, I tried to do the same but failed, so I made my own version of it, with only one layer of vellum :D I coloured an Inkadinkado stamp with Distress Markers (straight on the stamp) and stamped it on the vellum three different times. Then I just adhered the vellum on the card base, added the strip of pink cardstock with the sentiment on it (the sentiment stamp is by Papertrey Ink) and added the felt "buttons" with the baker's twine hanging from them. That's it, quite simply.

Jotain ihan muuta - Mail Art

Ihana Kissinia järjesti tuossa kesällä hauskan leikin, Mail Art Exchange Gamen. Tarkoitus oli koristella kirjekuori tavalla tai toisella ja lähettää se ja saada vastalahjaksi koristeltu kuori - mail art:ia siis. Tällaisen kuoren lähetin itse Kissinialle. Maskasin siihen tuon paneelin post-it-lapuilla ja värjäsin Distress Inkeillä ja sitten leimasin kukkasia Hero Artsin leimoilla A Real Long-Stemmed Wildflower ja A Real Wild Poppy.

The lovely Kissinia hosted a fun game during the summer, a Mail Art Exchange Game. The meaning was to decorate an envelope and send it and then get a decorated envelope in the post in return - that's mail art in short. This is the envelope I sent to Kissinia. I masked the panel with post-it notes and added some Distress Inks to it and then stamped the flowers with the Hero Arts stamps A Real Long-Stemmed Wildflower ja A Real Wild Poppy.

Kuoren mukana lähetin tällaisen kortin. Kohokuvioin tuon pinkin kartongin Cuttlebugin kohokuviointitaskulla, leikkasin irti sydämen ja asetin kortin sisään palasen vanhaa kirjan sivua, johon olin ensin leimannut Hero Artsin shadow stampilla neliön ja siihen päälle FinnStamperin leimalla talon. Kanteen lisäsin tuon new home -bannerin ja pienen linnun.

This is the card I sent with the envelope. I dry embossed the pink cardstock with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, cut out the heart and attached a piece of old book page on the inside of the card, stamped it with a Hero Arts shadow stamp and on top of that, I stamped a house with a FinnStamper stamp. Then I just added the tiny birdie and the banner on the card.

Ihana Kim Dellow pyysi minua vaihtamaan 'mail artia' kanssaan ja tällaisen kuoren lähetin hänelle. Tein tuon auringon stanssatun ympyrän negatiivilla ja Distress Inkeillä ja leimasin heinät (joita edelleen pidän enemmänkin rukiina kuin heinänä.... ;) ) Hero Artsin leimalla Silhouette Grass.

The lovely Kim Dellow also asked me to exchange some mail art with her and this is the envelope I sent to her. I created the sun with the negative of a circle die cut and some Distress Inks and then stamped the grass (which to me looks like rye.... ;) ) with the Hero Arts' stamp Silhouette Grass and some brown Archival Ink.

Kuoressa lähetin tällaisen pienen tagin. Taustaksi sudin hieman gessoa, sitten leimasin kukat Archival Inkeillä ja tekstin Papertrey Inkin aakkosleimoilla. Lisäksi laitoin tagiin hieman washi-teippiä, juuttinarua ja muutaman timantin.

This is the tag I sent with the envelope to Kim. I brushed some gesso on a kraft tag, stamped the flowers with Archival Inks and the text with Papertrey Ink's alphabet stamps. As embellies there's some washi tape, some jute twine and a few rhinestones.

Täytyy myöntää, että hieman jännitti lähettää mitään näille naisille, sen verran taitavia ovat molemmat. Pientä rimakauhua siis oli koettavissa... Toivottavasti molemmat kuitenkin pitivät kuoristaan :) Mutta sellaista tällä kertaa. Kiitos, kun kävit katsomassa ja kiitos, jos kommentoit. Mukavaa tiistaita! :)

Kukkaketo - Meadow with flowers

Eräällä ystävälläni on tässä kuussa synttärit, joten kortille oli taas tarvetta. Idea tähän lähti oikeastaan hänen nimestään, joka viittaa kesään, joten kesäinen kukkaniitty tuntui sopivalta korttiin. Leimasin on Inkadinkadon Meadow-setistä ja väritin sen Impress-tusseilla, suihkaisin vettä päälle ja leimasin akvarellipaperille. Taivaan tein Distress Inkeillä ja perhoset leikoin Marthan lävistimellä. Tekstin vellumiin leimasin Papertrey Inkin leimalla. Kuva kortista on taas vaihteeksi hieman huono, turhan sinisävyinen (korttipohja on oikeasti kermanvärinen), napsaisin sen kiireessä enkä tajunnut tarkistaa kuvan laatua ennen kortin lähettämistä. Mutta josko siitä nyt jotain saa selvää ;)

 

A friend of mine had her birthday this month so a card was in order. This card was inspired by her name which refers to summer so what better for her card than a summery field of flowers? The stamp I used is from the Meadow set by Inkadinkado, I coloured the stamp itself with Impress markers, misted it with some water and stamped it on watercolour paper. I made the sky with Distress Inks and punched the butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink. The photo is once again a bit poor, the colours show wrongly (the card blank is actually cream coloured), I took the photo in haste and did not check its quality before sending the card. I hope you can make something of the piccie anyways ;)

Punainen enkeli - A red angel

Mihin ihmeeseen aika katoaa?! Ajattelin juuri itsekseni, että eipä siitä taida pitkä olla, kun viimeksi postasin... Juu ei, pari viikkoa vain! En ole tämän parin viikon aikana paljon koneella ollut, joten anteeksi teille kaikille ihanille, jotka käytte kommentoimassa blogissani mutta joiden blogeissa en ole nyt hetkeen vieraillut. Lupaan parantaa tapani! :) Mutta nyt näytille varsin punasävyinen enkelikortti. Korttipohja on ihan tavallinen C6, jonka etukannen olen taittanut 'puoliksi'. Enkelileima on Inkadinkadon Silhouette Angel, embossasin sen punaisella ja sudin reunoille punaista mustetta. Koristeiksi hieman kakkupaperia, lumihiutale, nappi ja tiuku. Tekstileima on FinnStamperin ja paperit Echo Parkin.

Where does the time go?! I was just thinking that it was "just yesterday" that I posted the last time... That "yesterday" was actually two weeks ago!! I haven't really spent any time around blogland during the last two weeks so my apologies to all you who come by my blog and leave such nice comments and whose blogs I haven't visited lately. I promise I will mend my ways! :) But I thought I'd show you an angel card today. The card blank is really just a basic card blank, I just folded the front in two. The angel stamp is by Inkadinkado and called Silhouette Angel, I heat embossed it with red embossing powder and applied some red ink on the edges. As embellies there are a bit of everything: a piece of doily, a button, a snowflake and a little bell. The sentiment says 'Christmas greetings'. The paper's by Echo Park.

 

Sisällä on siis tuota samaa Echo Parkin paperia ja reunoista mustetettu kartonginpala, johon voi kirjoittaa tervehdyksen.

On the inside there's the Echo Park paper and some white cardstock with inked edges whereyou can write your  greeting.

Syysväreissä - Autumn colours

Tässä lisää servettikokeiluja. Tein tämän niin päin, että leimasin valkoiseen servettiin mustalla tuon leimakuvan (Paperbag Studiosin Thistle) ja levitin vihreää, keltaista ja sinistä Distress Inkiä valkoiselle kartongille ja liimasin servetin kartongin päälle. Hiukan vielä varovasti lisäsin musteita servetin päällekin. Mielestäni siitä tuli aika kiva näin, tuo servetti antaa jännän, hieman tekomokkamaisen pinnan, joka näyttää ihan hauskalta livenä. Tuo taustapaperi on BasicGreytä, leimasin siihen perhosen Inkadinkadon Garden Delight -setistä ja oikeaan alakulmaan muutaman rinkulan Art Journeyn leimalla (nuo rinkulat olisivat menneet ohi, jos en olisi niistä maininnut, eikö? ;D ), lisäksi siihen viereen laitoin pari tippaa vettä, että sain tuollaisen roiskejäljen. Koristeina tässä on vain BasicGreyn narua ja FinnStamperin embossattu ja Distresseillä väritetty perhonen.

I continued my experiments with paper tissues but this time I stamped the image (Paperbag Studios' Thistle) on the tissue with black ink and added some Distress Inks (green, yellow and blue) to a white cardstock. Then I just glued the tissue on the cardstock. The inks showed through but I added just a little bit more straight on the tissue. I think this way the tissue looks quite nice, it gives a sort of fake suede finish which I like. The background paper is by BasicGrey, I stamped the butterfly from the Inkadinkado set Garden Delight on it and I also stamped a few circles with an Art Journey stamp in the lower right hand corner (you would have missed them if I didn't mention they were there, right? ;D ), I also added a couple of spots of water there. As embellies there are only the beautiful fibre by BasicGrey and a butterfly (it's a stamped image which I heat embossed, coloured with Distress Inks and cut out).

Aluevaltauksia ja ATC:tä - Broken boundaries and some ATCs

Tuli tehtyä uusi aluevaltaus... Sain Kissinialta todella kauniin ATC:n (katsopa tuolta # 5), joten täytyihän minun tehdä vastalahjaksi myös ATC. Olen aikaisemminkin ajatellut koittaa näiden tekoa mutta en ole koskaan kuitenkaan päässyt sinne asti (tai no, olen aina jämähtänyt ajatukseen, että nämä ovat artist trading cardeja enkä minä koe itseäni erityisemmin taiteilijaksi...). Mutta jälleen kerran härkää sarvista ja kortteja vääntämään! Ohjeita en etsinyt sen kummemmin, vain tuon kortin koon, joka siis on 64 mm x 89 mm. Saattaa siis olla, että rikon useampaakin taiteilijasääntöä mutta siitä viis! ;D

I broke some boundaries... I received a gorgeous ATC from Kissinia (please see here, mine's #5), so I wanted to make one for her. I've thought about making ATCs before but never got round to it (well, to tell the truth, I've always frozen at the idea that they're supposed to be artist trading cards and I don't really see myself as an artist...). So now I broke some boundaries inside my head (always a good thing to do! ;) ) and made my first ATCs! I don't know if there are some ATC rules apart from the size (which is 64 mm x 89 mm) so if I'm breaking some artist rules... well, then I am! ;D

Lisää kiitosta - More thank yous

 Kuten aikaisemmin kerroin, minulta pyydettiin kiitoskorttia ja tein niitä yhteensä kolme, joista sitten valita. Tässä ovat loput kaksi korttia. Kortin toivottiin siis olevan "aikuiseen makuun", koristeita sai olla mutta ei nappeja (eivätkö aikuiset tykkää napeista..??!) tai vastaavaa. Näistä korteista ensimmäiseen käytin Penny Blackin kaunista Casual-leimaa, jonka leimasin ruskealla akvarellipaperille, johon olin lisännyt Distress Inkejä veden kera. Akvarellipaperin kiinnitin ruskealle kartongille ja sen korttipohjaan, koristeeksi vain ruskea satiininauha. Tekstileima on FinnStamperin. Kuva on muuten luokattoman huono, jotenkin todella sinisävyinen, tuo korttipohja on oikeasti vaalean kerman värinen eikä tuollainen sinertävän harmaa.

As I told you earlier, I was asked to make a thank you card, so I made three of them, a little selection to choose from. Here are the rest of the cards. The person asking for the card wanted it to be "for a grown-up's taste", some embellishments were OK but preferably no buttons or such (grown-ups don't like buttons??!). On this card I used the rubber stamp 'Casual' by Penny Black which I stamped with brown ink on aquarelle paper. Earlier I had applied some Distress Inks with water to the paper. I then attached the paper to brown cardstock and then to the card blank. As embellie there's just simple brown satin ribbon. The sentiment says 'Thank you' (hard to guess, wasn't it? ;) ). The piccie is really bad with awfully wrong colours, sorry for that, the card blank is actually light cream colour and not blueish grey as it seems in the piccie.

Toinen korteista (jonka kortin tilannut ihminen sitten valitsi) on hieman runsaampi. Leimasin nuo kukkaset Inkadinkadon leimalla harmaalla Versafinella ja väritin ne valkoisella hohtavalla vesivärillä (kuvassa vesiväri näyttää harmaalta ja sotkuiselta, mutta oikeasti se siis on valkoinen ja hohtava ja varsin nätti, usko pois :) ). Keskimmäisen kukkasista kohotin tarrapaloilla. Paperit ovat BasicGreytä, lisänä kermanväristä kartonkia. Koristeina hieman pitsiä ja tuollaisia heteitä. Kiitos-leima taas FinnStamperilta. Ja taas kuva on hieman turhan sinisävyinen ja vääristää siis värejä...

The second card on this post is the one which the person asking for the card chose. The flowers are stamped with an Inkadinkado stamp and grey Versafine ink and coloured with white gently shiny/glittery watercolour (which in the piccie looks grey and dirty but in real life is actually white and gently shiny and very pretty, but you just have to take my word for it :) ). I raised the middle one with 3D foam pads. The papers I used are by BasicGrey with some cream cardstock. As embellies there's some lace and the white thingies the name of which I just don't know in English - sorry! The sentiment says - can you guess... - 'Thank you'. And once again the piccie's too blueish and the colours look all wrong...

Keltaista - Yellow

Ulkona on harmaa päivä, joten mikäpä siihen sopisi paremmin kuin yltiökeltainen kortti! Tämäkin on tämmöinen simppeli peruskortti ilman sen suurempia kruusauksia. Käytin tähän Stempelkellerin tekstileimaa ja kukkaa Inkadinkadon Gem Stone Flowers -setistä. Kukat leikkasin irti veitsellä ja 'tekstipahvit' stanssasin, sitten vain ladoin ne tarrapaloilla October Afternoonin paperille, jonka nurkkia mustetin keltaisella DI:llä. Koristeiksi laitoin pitsiä ja muutaman puolihelmen ja keltainen pläjäys oli valmis :)

It's cloudy and overcast here today so I thought I'd offer you some colour therapy! This is quite simple and basic card but at least it's happy and yellow :) The sentiment is by Stempelkeller in Germany and goes something like 'Smile is the shortest distance between two people'. The flower is from the Gem Stone Flowers set by Inkadinkado, stamped with yellow Versamagic and cut out with a craft knife. I raised the ovals and the flowers with 3D foam pads from the October Afternoon paper and I also inked the edges of the paper with some DI. As embellies I used some lace and pearls.

Inspiroituneita kukkia - Flowers and inspiration

Sanoin, etten postaa uusia kortteja ennen kuin vanhat on kaikki blogissa. No, syönpä nyt sanani ja näytän uuden kortin :) Inspiraatio näihin kukkiin tuli Kissinialta ja erityisesti tämän kortin upeasta kukasta. Väritin nuo kukat ja perhoisen Distress Inkeillä ja laitoin niiden päälle Glossy Accentsia (kukkiin siveltimellä, että sain ohuen kerroksen ja melkeinpä vain kiillon ja perhoiseen sitten ihan purkista, jolloin sen siivistä tuli vähän pulleammat). Taustan leimasin DI:llä ja Inkadinkadon Circles and Dots -setin leimalla. Tekstin jätin pois, mutta lisään sen mahdollisesti myöhemmin, kun tiedän, mihin korttia tarvitsen. Tein tämän alunperin P*skarteluhaasteeseen (värit punainen-keltainen-sininen) mutta en tiedä, voinko osallistuakaan tällä kortilla, koska tässä on aika paljon valkoistakin ja koska inspiraatio tuli jonkun muun kortista (??).

I promised that I wouldn't post any new cards before I've got all the old ones posted here on the blog-o but here I am, eating my words... :) I was so inspired by the talented Kissinia and especially by the gorgeous flower on this card that I had to make my own version of it (thanks for the inspiration, Kissinia! :) ). I coloured the flowers and the butterfly with Distress Inks and applied some Glossy Accents on them (with a brush on the flowers so that I'd only get thin layer and straight from the bottle to the butterfly so that its wings are a bit more plump). I stamped the background with a stamp from the Inkadinkado set Circles and Dots and some Distress Ink. I left sentiment out for now, I'll add it later when I know where I need the card. I originally intended to submit this card to the Finnish challenge blog P*skarteluhaaste (the challenge this week is a bingo where you can choose your own colours, I chose red-yellow-blue) but I'm not sure I can submit this: first of all, there's quite a lot of white in it and secondly, because the inspiration quite clearly came from someone else, so I'm not sure if these rule me out...

Lukiessa valaistuu - A bookmark

Pyäreetä P*skikseen! Elikkä P*skarteluhaasteessa haluttiin pyöreitä muotoja ja tässä minun vastaukseni haasteeseen. Tein pienenä kiitoslahjana anopille kirjanmerkin, johon leimasin ja discomustalla embossasin Inkadinkadon lyhdyn (lukiessa valaistuu! ;) ). Keltaisen pohjavärin sain levittämällä Distress Inkin Wild Honey -mustetta, kirjanmerkin pohjana on kiiltävää ColorCorea. Koristeeksi vielä pieni metallikillutin ja vedenvärinen paljetti ja pieni kirjanmerkki oli valmis.

I made this bookmark for my mother-in-law as a small thank you present. I stamped and embossed the Inkadinkado lantern with sparkly black embossing powder, the yellow colour underneath is Distress Ink Wild Honey. The shiny yellow cardstock is by ColorCore. As embellies there are a metal tag and a sequin. I submit this to the Finnish challenge blog P*skarteluhaaste where the challenge is to use round shapes.

Kransseja ja enkeleitä - Wreaths and angels

Joulutohinoiden keskelle taas yksi neljän kortin pikkupostaus ;) Eihän sitä pieni kortteilija malta olla postaamatta kaikkia kortteja, kun kerran on niitä saanut tehtyä... *vieno hymy* Näissä ensimmäisissä korteissa on ihana Hero Artsin kranssi hopealla embossattuna, koristeiksi lisäsin muutaman kirkkaan dew dropsin. Suomenkielinen tekstileima on Stempelkellerin ja ruotsinkielinen Finnstamperin. Lisäksi Papermanian paperi, vihreää kartonkia Cuttlebugilla stanssattuna ja satiininauhaa. Kuva on muuten hieman huono, ylempi kortti sai ikkunasta enemmän valoa kuin alempi, joten se näyttää kirkkaammalta mutta oikeasti ovat siis ihan saman värisiä.


Once again I have four more cards to show you in one little post ;) The first cards feature the lovely stamp by Hero Arts which I embossed in silver and added some clear dew drops as embellies. The paper is by Papermania and the satin ribbon is from my stash.

Nämä seuraavatkin kortit ovat periaatteessa toistensa kopioita, tein ne vain eri väreillä. Leimasin on Inkadinkadon Silhouette angel, ylemmässä hopealla embossattuna ja alemmassa kullalla. Ylemmän kortin tekstileima jäi hieman huonosti näkyviin, kun embossasin sen tuohon kuviopaperin päälle - tästä viisastuneena embossasin sen sitten tuohon vihreään korttiin heti enkelin alle :) Paperit kummassakin ovat Papermanian, lisänä vain yksiväristä kartonkia ja joulutähti.

The next two cards are similar to each other, I just made them in different colours. The stamp is Silhouette angel by Inkadinkado, I embossed it with silver powder on the first card and with gold powder on the second. The sentiments say 'Christmas peace', the papers are by Papermania and the poinsettias are made with Marianne Design's die.

Rippikortti - Card for Confirmation party

Tulevana viikonloppuna on miehen veljenpojan rippijuhla, joten tein hänelle kortin (yllätys, yllätys... ;) ). En ole koskaan aikaisemmin tehnyt rippikorttia ja kun kortti vielä tulee teini-ikäiselle pojalle, oli siinä haastetta kerrakseen. Mietin aluksi, teenkö uskonnollista korttia ollenkaan vaiko vain jonkin "neutraalin" kortin, mutta päätin sitten pelata varman päälle ja mennä uskonnolliseen suuntaan. Jätin kortin melko yksinkertaiseksi ja ilman sen suurempia koristeita, josko se olisi enemmän poikien mieleen. Leimasimet ovat Inkadinkadoon setistä Spiritual sketches.

My hubby's nephew has his Confirmation party this coming weekend and - surprise, surprise! ;) - I made him a card. This was quite a challenge as I have never made such a card before and as it was for a teenage boy... phew! I decided to make a traditional card with spiritual image, just to be on the safe side, and I left the card quite simple, hopefully to suit a boy's taste. The stamps used are from Spiritual sketches set by Inkadinkado.

Kiitoskorteilla jatketaan. Tämä ensimmäinen on ehkä maailman yksinkertaisin kortti mutta mielestäni siitä tuli kuitenkin todella kiva, itse ainakin tykkään siitä. Ja voiko olla ihanempia värejä kuin vaaleanpunainen ja tummanruskea... :)

I have a couple of thank you cards to show you again. This first one is perhaps the simplest card in the history of mankind but me thinks it turned out quite nice, I like it. And pink and dark brown - can there be prettier colours... :)

Seuraavasta kortista en ole ihan niin varma. Idea oli hyvä, mutta jotenkin tuntuu, että toteutuksessa jokin mättää... Leimasin siis ensin nuo linnut suoraan korttipohjaan ja laitoin niihin väritöntä kohojauhetta, sen jälkeen leikkasin osan kortista pois ja laitoin liilaa kartonkia taustaksi. Sitten vain muutama dew drops, kiitos-teksti ja se oli siinä. (Olimme muuten taas Bloggerin kanssa eri mieltä siitä, miten päin kuva tulisi blogiin laittaa, joten jouduin taas rajaamaan kuvan oudosti).

I'm not so sure about this next card. I think the idea was good but maybe there's something lacking with the end result... I first stamped the birds to white card blank and embossed them with clear powder, then I cut away pieces of the card blank and placed them with lilac cardstock. Then I just added a few dew drops and stamped the sentiment (which says 'Thank you') and that was it. (Once again I disagreed with Blogger in regards to how the piccie should be placed in my blog so again I had to frame the piccie this way).

Katulamppu - A street light

Sukkersöttissä on tällä kertaa mukava luonnos haasteena (#74), joten innostuin tekemään sillä kortin. Suhteellisen yksinkertaisella toteutuksella taas matkassa (ei leimakuvien värityksiä tms.) mutta joskus on mukava tehdä tällaisiakin kortteja.

There's a lovely sketch over at the Sukkersött challenge blog this week (challenge #74) so I decided to make a card using it. This is a fairly simple card (no colouring of stamped images etc.) but sometimes it's nice to make cards like this as well.

Leimakuvan embossasin mustalla kohojauheella, jossa on kimalletta mukana ja siitä tuli mielestäni ihan kivan näköinen.

I embossed the stamped image with black embossing powder that has some glitter in it and I think it turned out quite nice.

Papertake Weekly #27

Vihdoinkin joulukortti! Näiden kanssa tulee taas tänä vuonna kiire, mutta... Noh, kuitenkin osallistun tällä kortilla Papertake Weekly Challengeen, jossa vuorossa on luonnos nro 27 . Kortti kuvautui hieman huonosti, oikeasti tuo punainen kartonki, jolle enkeli on leimattu, on melko saman punainen kuin kortissa oleva punainen paperi mutta kuvassa ne kyllä näyttävät täysin eri värisiltä :/

Finally a Christmas card! I haven't made as many Christmas cards as I should've by now but there's still time - I hope... Anyways, I submit this card to Papertake Weekly Challenge, sketch #27. Thank you for this beautiful sketch! Unfortunately, the card didn't photograph that well, the red cardstock with the angel on it is in real life similar to the red in the paper but the photo doesn't show it :/

Tri Shutter Card hääparille

Työkaverini tilasi kortin hääparille ja toiveena oli, että kortissa olisi vihreää, valkoista ja punaista. Tein pari ehdotusta kortiksi ja hän valitsi tämän tri shutter cardin, jonka tein samoilla ohjeilla kuin tämän ensimmäisenkin. Käyttämäni paperit, leimasimet ja koristeet ovat tässä samat kuin tuossa ensimmäisessäkin, lisänä tässä kortissa on vielä Finnstamperin perhosleimasin. Toivottavasti hääpari piti kortistaan!

A co-worker of mine ordered a wedding card from me and hoped that the card have green, white and red on it. I made a couple of cards for her to choose from and she chose this tri shutter card (it's similar to the first tri shutter card I made). The papers, stamps and embellishments I used are the same make than in the first one except the butterfly stamp which is by Finnstamper. I hope the bride and groom liked their card!

Tri Shutter Card

Aloitin eilen tekemään tätä korttia ja sain sen valmiiksi tänään. Kyseessä on tri shutter card, jolle en tiedä suomenkielistä nimeä, mutta ohjeen sille löysin täältä. Aluksi ohje vaikutti hieman hankalalta, mutta loppuviimein se olikin melko helppo tehdä ja siitä sai varsin hauskannäköisen ja hieman ehkä erikoisemmankin kortin. Kuitenkin se on tavallisen kortin kokoinen ja menee siis C6-kuoreen.

I started making this card yesterday and finished it today. This one is called tri shutter card and I found a tutorial for it here. It appeared to be slightly difficult to make at first but eventually it turned out to be pretty easy and the finished card looks quite fun and not your run-of-the-mill card.

Tuo Inkadinkadon lintuleimasin on yksi suosikkilintuleimasimistani, leimasin sen Versafinen harmaalla musteella ja embossasin kirkkaalla jauheella. Paperiin linnun taustalla leimasin Hero Artsin kukkakuvioisella taustaleimasimella ja embossasin sen valkoisella jauheella. Perhoset on leikattu Martha Stewartin leikkurilla ja koristeltu Kaisercraftin timangeilla, myös helmet ovat Kaisercraftin. Korupiikin tein itse. Paperit ovat taas BasicGreytä, Porcelainia tällä kertaa. Pitsi on alkujaan mummon varastojen kätköistä.

The bird stamp is by Inkadinkado, it's one of my favourite bird stamps ever. I stamped it with Versafine's Smokey Grey ink and embossed with clear powder. I stamped the paper behind the bird with Hero Arts' floral background stamp and embossed it with white embossing powder. The butterflies are made with a Martha Stewart punch and embellished with Kaisercraft rhinestones. The pearls are also by Kaisercraft and the pin I made myself. The papers are once again by BasicGrey (Porcelain). The lace is from my granny.

Tämä kortti oli vaikea kuvata, joten otin sitten useamman kuvan (jollain logiikalla tässä on järkeä... ;) ). Tässä kortti on täysin auki ja "makuullaan".
It was quite diffucult to take pictures of this card, so I ended up taking several (yes, there is a logic to it... ;) ). Here the card is fully open and lying down on its back.


Tässä kortin "kansi" näkyy parhaiten. Tuo pitsi on oikeasti kermanvärinen sekä etukannessa että tuolla kortin viimeisessä osassa, se taisi vain napata vaaleanpunaista tuosta taustapaperista tähän kuvaan.
Here's a view of the front panel of the card. The lace is actually cream coloured both on the front and the last panel, I guess the background paper just gave it the pinkish colour it has on the front panel in this piccie.

Here's the middle part of the card. The text says "For you on your birthday" and on the righthand's side panel it says "Congrats".

Here's a close-up of the pin I made. This is a clever way of giving the birthday person both a card and a flower :)


Kävimme muuten eilen katsomassa uuden Ice Age 3 -leffan miehen ja kahden veljenpoikani kanssa. Leffa oli todella hauska, siinä oli naurun aihetta sekä aikuisille että lapsille (ja luulenpa, että aikuisten hauska siinä meni lapsilta ohi...). Hauskin sekä lasten että meidän aikuisten mielestä oli Jyrsiksen tangon tanssiminen, siinä oli tunteen paloa! :) Kannattaa käydä katsomassa tuo leffa, sen verran hauska se oli! :)

Hubby and I took two of my nephews out to see the new Ice Age 3 yesterday. It was actually really funny film, both children and adults laughed a lot. We all loved Scrat's tango dancing the best, oh the emotion that went into it! :) Go see it if you have the opportunity, it is worth it! :)

Kortti päivässä... - A card a day...

... ja kaksi parhaassa! Jos tämän päivän korttien teolle tarvitsee syyn, niin se voisi olla helle: kun parvekkeella lämpötila kipuaa +40 asteeseen, niin ehkä on parempi olla sisällä viileässä ja väkertää kortteja :D

... and two in the best! If I ever needed a reason to make cards, today's reason could be the weather outside: the temperature is + 40 degrees on our balcony and the sun is scorching, so I thought it best to stay inside in the cool and make cards :D

Molemmista tämänpäiväisistä korteista tuli melko värikkäitä, ensimmäisessä on Inkadinkadon lintu embossattuna violetilla ja kohotettuna 3D-tarroilla. Aurinkona toimii myös Inkadinkadon leimakuva, sen embossasin värittömällä kohojauheella. Paperit on - arvaatko..? - BasicGreyn ;) ja nauha on varastoista kaivettu.

This colourful card sports an Inkadinkado bird, I embossed it with purple embossing powder and raised it from the background with 3D foam squares. I used another Inkadinkado stamp to create the sun and I embossed it with clear embossing powder. The papers are by - can you guess..? - BasicGrey;) and the ribbon is from my stash.


Tässä toisessa kortissa on pääosassa tuo taustapaperi (Sassafras Lassilta), se on niin herkullinen, etten halunnut peittää sitä kovin paljoa. Lohenpunainen ympyrä on leikattu My Mind's Eyen paperista ja keltainen taas ColorCore-kartongista, samoin kuin turkoosi ympyräkin, johon leimasin Finnstamperin onnea-pallon ja embossasin sen kirkkaalla jauheella. Tuo kukka on Imaginiscen Squishy shapes -kukka - en tiedä, mikä se on suomeksi mutta se on sellainen hauskan kumimainen ja pehmeä. Sisäosan koristelin papereiden jäännöspaloilla.

This beautiful Sassafras Lass paper plays the main role in my second card, it is so jummy that I didn't really want to cover it much. I cut the reddish circle out from My Mind's Eye's paper and the yellow circle from ColorCore cardstock. I cut the turquoise circle also from ColorCore cardstock, stamped it with a stamp that says 'congrats' in Finnish and embossed it with clear embossing powder. The flower is a Squishy shapes flower by Imaginisce. I decorated the inside of the card with some leftover paper.

Tästä se sitten alkaa, bloggaus! Kauan olen tätä tuumaillut ja muiden blogeja ihaillut ja nyt päätin sitten itsekin kokeilla. Ajatuksena on siis blogata väkerryksistäni askartelun saralla, enimmäkseen korteista mutta kukapa tietää, mitä muuta sitä joskus innostuu tekemään.

So this is it, my big leap into the world of blogging! I've thought about this for some time now and visited all the wonderful blogs out there and finally I found the courage to start a blog of my own. Mostly I'll be sharing with you my cards but who knows what else I'll blog about when I get going!

This simple little card is made using the Hero Arts' stamp Three ferns inked with the Distress Ink's Peeled paint and Tea dye.
