Poikavauvalle - Daisy Bear for a baby boy

Minua pyydettiin tekemään kortti poikavauvalle. Toiveena oli tyylikäs kortti (vaalean)vihreän sävyissä, ilman tekstileimaa ja tällä Forever Friendsin Daisy Bear -leimalla - näillä koordinaateilla syntyi sitten tällainen kortti. Leimasin Daisyn Papertrey Inkin Mat Stack 3 -stansseilla stanssattuun paperiin ja väritin Distress Inkeillä. Sydämet stanssasin vaaleansinisestä huovasta PTI:n Heart Border -stanssilla ja sen alla olevan vihreän kartongin kuvioin niinikään PTI:n impression platella. Paperi on October Afternoonia.

I was asked to make a card for a newborn baby boy. The special wishes for the card were 'stylish', in (pale) green colour, without any stamped sentiments, and with this Daisy Bear stamp by Forever Friends. I followed the wishes quite closely and came up with this card. I stamped Daisy on paper that I had die cut with Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 3 dies and coloured her with Distress Inks. I die cut the hearts out of felt with PTI's Heart Border die and placed it on some green cardstock that I had run through my Cuttlebug with PTI's impression plate. The patterned paper is by October Afternoon.

Koristelin tällä kertaa myös kortin sisäosan, jonne laitoin samaa paperia ja kartonkia kuin kanteenkin ja koristeeksi vielä tuota sydänboordia.


I decided to decorate the inside of the card as well with the same patterned paper and cardstock that I used on the front of the card. I also added the felt heart border as embellie.

Ruusuja - Roses

Papertrey Ink -linja jatkuu, tällä kertaa tällaisella peruskortilla. Käytin noihin kukkiin Rosie Posie -setin leimasimia ja stansseja ja Hero Artsin Shadow Ink -musteita. Kukat kiinnitin osin liimalla, osin 3D-tarrapaloilla PTI:n Mat Stack 4 -sarjan stansseilla stanssattuihin papereihin. Kaikki paperit ovat Crate Paperin Little Bo Peep -paperikosta ja koristeena muutama helmi ja pinkkiä "hammaslankaa".

I'm still having fun with my new Papertrey Ink stash :) This time I made a card with stamps and dies from the Rosie Posie set - aren't these flowers just so pretty? As inks I used Hero Arts Shadow Inks, the papers are Little Bo Peep series by Crate Paper  and as embellies there are a few pearls and some pink scrapper's floss. The labels are die cut with the Mat Stack 4 dies by Papertrey Ink.

Tällä suunnalla on leimasin- ja stanssivarasto lisääntynyt melko lailla viime aikoina... Tätini tuli Amerikasta visiitille ja ihanana ihmisenä hän toi minulle tilaamani Papertrey Ink -ihanuudet :) :) PTI:ltä kun ei viitsi postikulujen takia tänne tilata (mieluummin laitan nekin rahat tarvikkeisiin kuin postikuluihin...), niin hyödynnän ilolla nämä kuriirimahdollisuudet :D Jonkun verran olen ehtinyt uusilla tarvikkeilla touhuta ja tässä näytille ensimmäinen tekele. Tässä melkein kaikki on Papertrey Inkiä: käytetyt stanssit, leimasimet ja kohokuviointilevy (jos haluat tietää tarkemmin, mitä värkkejä käytin, niin huikkaa ja listaan niiden nimet tänne). Ja tavoistani poiketen käytin jo toistamiseen lyhyen ajan sisällä englanninkielistä tekstileimasinta (kun ei niitä soppeleita suomenkielisiä ole - murmur...).

My stash of stamps and dies has grown quite a lot lately... My lovely aunt from the US came for a visit and she kindly agreed to bring me my (huge) order from the Papertrey Ink :) :) I'd never order anything from the PTI to Finland because of the ridiculous postage (I rather spend that money on supplies as well) so I'm overjoyed to have my own personal courier :) So far I've had a few chances to play with my new supplies and here's my first make to show you. Pretty much everything on it is by Papertrey Ink: the stamps and dies used, as well as the impression plate used for the background. (If you'd like to know the specifics about the supplies I used, let me know, otherwise I won't list the names here).

Hello, friend!

Innostuin tekemään toisenkin kortin Hero Artsin lokakuun luonnoshaasteen pohjalta. Luonnoshaasteessa aihe sai olla mikä tahansa, joten tein tällaisen "yleiskortin". Leimakuvana tässä on Hero Artsin Wild Blossoms (setistä Wildflowers in Bloom), väritin sen Impress-tusseilla ja suihkaisin vettä päälle ennen leimaamista akvarellipaperille. Kuviopaperi on October Afternoonia, tekstileima ja käytetyt stanssit Papertrey Inkiä ja lisänä hieman kartonkia, huopaa ja washiteippiä.

I liked one of the sketches in the Hero Arts October Challenge so much that I made another card with it. The theme in the sketch challenge is free so I chose to make a sort of 'all-occasions card'. The rubber stamp I used is Wild Blossoms by Hero Arts (from the set Wildflowers in Bloom), I coloured it with Impress markers and spritzed a little water on it before stamping on aquarelle paper. The patterned paper is by October Afternoon and the sentiment stamp and the dies I used are all by Papertrey Ink. Additional materials include a bit of cardstock, some washi tape and felt.

Joulukortti! - A Christmas card!

Tämän vuoden ensimmäinen joulukortti on nyt sitten tehty! Jotenkin joulukorttien tekeminen on aina yhtä tuskaisaa, en tiedä mikä siinä on, mutta nyt on ensimmäinen valmis ja toivottavasti lisää tulee ;) Tein tämän kortin Hero Artsin lokakuun haasteen innoittamana, siitä tulee siis sekä aihe (joulukortit) että luonnos. Käytin tähän korttiin Graphic45:n Christmas Past -papereita, joita olen varmasti hehkuttanut aiemminkin mutta hehkutan edelleen, ne nimittäin ovat kauneimpia joulupapereita, joita olen löytänyt. Leimakuvana tässä on Hero Artsin Trees of the Season -setin talvileima, jonka embossasin ruskealla jauheella. Samaisella jauheella embossasin myös tekstin. Koristeena on hieman nappia ja nauhaa.

Behold, the first Yule card of this year! Hah, yes, I've made my first Christmas card for this year, I know I'm starting late but there's just something about making Christmas cards that doesn't really appeal to me. It's always so difficult for me to start making them but now the first one is done and hopefully there'll be plenty more ;) This card was inspired by the Hero Arts' October Challenge, the theme (holiday cardmaking) and the sketch come from there. The stamp I used here is the winter stamp from the gorgeous Hero Arts' set Trees of the Season. I heat embossed it and the sentiment (which says 'Christmas peace') with brown embossing powder. The papers I used are by Graphic45 (I just love this Christmas Past paper collection!). As embellies there's some ribbon and a button.

Ja nyt hieman höpinää, kun kerran Herosta puhutaan... Oletko huomannut tuon Heroine-lätkän, joka on ilmestynyt tuohon oikealle puolelle? Sain sen A Blog Named Heron syyskuun haasteesta, jossa tämä korttini valittiin viiden parhaan joukkoon! Hieman olen yllättynyt ja otettu :) :)

And while we're on the subject of Hero Arts.... Have you noticed the Heroine badge that I now have on the right sidebar of my blog? I got that from the September challenge of A Blog Named Hero where my card was awarded a place in the Top 5! I am so surprised and honoured :) :)

Ajattelematta - Without thinking

Tämä kortti tuli tehtyä "kaikkea kivaa" -periaatteella. Laitoin siis korttiin sen kummemmin miettimättä kaikkea omasta mielestäni kivaa ja mitä nyt satuin pöydältä löytämään. Mielenkiintoisesti yhtäkään leimakuvaa tässä ei ole... ;) Sen sijaan tässä on hieman Dylusions ink sprayta, paperia ja aaltopahvia, washiteippiä, stanssattu huopasydän, gessoa, nappi ja narunpätkiä. Sen kummempaa ideaa tässä ei ole takana mutta joskus on kiva tehdä kortteja näinkin :)

I made this card simply by using all kinds of stuff that I like and that I found on my craft table without thinking too much. Didn't use any stamped images though (*shockhorror* ;) ), funny that... Instead you can find some Dylusions ink spray, some patterned paper and some corrugated cardboard, some washi tape, a die cut felt heart, some gesso, a button and some pieces of ribbon and twine on my card. I find it so much fun to make cards like this every once in a while, things made without too much thinking. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't but always I have fun :)
