Syksyistä - An autumn card

Tällä kertaa näytille tällainen pieni syyskortti, johon yhdistin kolme haastetta: aihe (mikä tahansa syksyyn liittyvä) ja värit tulevat Hero Artsin syyskuun haasteesta ja embossaus Simon Says Stampin haasteesta. Embossasin Hero Artsin Trees of the season -setin syksyisen leiman kirkkaalla jauheella viininpunaiselle kartongille ja kiinnitin tummanruskeaan korttipohjaan. Keltaisen kartongin kohokuvioin puukuvioiseksi ja stanssasin aukon siihen. Kiinnitin sen kohotarroilla pohjaan, että saisin hieman syvyyttä tuolle aukolle. Koristeena vain satiininauhaa ja nappi. Mitään tekstileimaa en viitsinyt tähän yhdistää, ajattelin kortin olevan monikäyttöisempi näin.

Today I'd like to show you a little autumn themed card in which I combined three challenges: the theme (anything to do with autumn) and the colours come from the Hero Arts September challenge and the embossing comes from the Simon Says Stamp challenge. For this card, I heat embossed the autumn stamp from the Hero Arts Trees of the Season set with clear powder on some wine coloured cardstock which I then attached to brown card base. I dry embossed the yellow cardstock with a woodgrain embossing folder, die cut the window and attached the whole thing with foam pads on the card base. As embellies I used a satin ribbon and a tiny button. I didn't want to use any kind of sentiment stamp for this, I thought the card is more versatile this way.

Tyttömäistä - Girly

Pojan ystävä täytti joku aika sitten kaksi vuotta, joten tein hänelle tällaisen kortin. Ja kun kerrankin sain tilaisuuden tehdä "tyttökortin" pistin siihen sitten roimasti kaikkea ihanaa: vaaleanpunaista, keijua, ihania nappeja, washi-teippiä... :) Leimakuva on The Greeting Farmin Flutter Anya, jonka väritin ProMarkereilla. Siipiin lisäilin hieman kimalleliimaa. Paperit ovat Bazzill Basicsiä ja koristeina tosiaan huopasydän, nappeja, timantteja, washi-teippiä ja pompulanauhaa. Melko tyttömäinen pläjäys siis! :) Kortin sisäpuolella päästin puolestaan pojan irti ja sinne syntyikin melko hieno piirrustus, en vain tajunnut ottaa siitä kuvaa :/

A friend of our son's turned two years old not long ago and I made her this card. I always get excited when I get to make a card for a girl - the same happened with this card and the end result is quite pink... ;) The stamped image is Flutter Anya by The Greeting Farm which I coloured with ProMarkers and added some glitter glue to her wings. The papers are by Bazzill Basics and as embellies there are lots of 'girly' things: a felt heart, cute buttons, pompom ribbon, rhinestones and washi tape. Our son drew a beautiful drawing on the inside of the card but I forgot to photograph it :/

Heroa heron päälle - Hero Arts, Hero Arts, Hero Arts

Tähän korttiin tuli kyllä heroa heron päälle, kaikki käyttämäni leimasimet ovat nimittäin Hero Artsin. Leimasin tuohon tagiin Wild Blossoms -leimalla, jonka olin värittänyt ensin Impress-tusseilla ja suihkinut hieman vettä päälle. Sitten leimasin tagin vielä Envelope Patternsilla. Vaaleanpunaisen tagin stanssasin Holtzin stanssilla ja leimasin Large Canvas Stripes -leimalla. Taustalla koreilee Basic Greyn paperi Newspaper Background -leimalla leimattuna. Lisänä vielä tuollainen pieni paperilärpsyke (Holtzin stanssilla stanssattu. Mies sanoi sen näyttävän ihan numero 10:ltä, itse en huomannut moista näköisyyttä ensin mutta nyt se pistää silmään joka kerta, kun kortin näen.... argh!), timantteja ja akryylimaalia.

How many Hero Arts stamps can you use on one card? I managed four on this one :) The flower on the tag is a stamp called Wild Blossoms which I coloured with Impress markers and spritzed with some water. Then I stamped the whole tag with the Envelope Patterns stamp. The pink tag is die cut with a Tim Holtz die and stamped with Large Canvas Stripes. The background paper is by Basic Grey and I stamped it with the Newspaper Background stamp. As embellies there are a tiny tab die cut with a Tim Holtz die (hubby said it looks like number 10! I didn't see it first but now it pops out to me every time I see the card... dang it!), some rhinestones and some gold acrylic paint.

Polviorsia* ja rosetti - Chevron and a rosette

Ajattelin vaihteen vuoksi tehdä kortin ilman sen kummempaa leimakuvaa ja ottaa keskipisteeksi rosetin, niitä kun ei ole hetkeen tullut väännettyä. Vahvistin tuota rosettia pilkullisella washiteipillä ja liimasin napin päälle. Washiteippiä on myös tuo turkoosi raita, siinä laitoin teipin valkoisen kartongin päälle niin, että tuo taustapaperi ei kuultaisi teipin alta. Sitten vain pari onnea-tekstiä (ne olisi voinut näin jälkeenpäin ajatellen asetella niin, että toinen osoittaisi hieman alaspäin, mutta se on myöhäistä nyt ;) ), muutama timantti ja taustapaperiksi Crate Paperin paperia.

I thought I'd make a card without a stamped image for a change and put a rosette as the focal point, as I haven't used those for ages. As I made the rosette, I strengthened it a bit with a dotty washi tape and added a button as its centre. The turquoise strip is also washi tape, I just taped a piece of white cardstock with the tape so that it would be more opaque and not show the background paper (by Crate Paper) through.  The sentiment on the banners say 'congrats'. As further embellies there are a few rhinestones.

Hortensia ja perhosia - Hydrangea and butterflies

Pitkästä aikaa taas P*skarteluhaasteeseen, tällä kertaa haasteenahan on siis resepti: 1 nauha, 2 paperia, 3 perhosta. Näistä aineksista syntyi sitten tällainen kortti. Leimakuvana on taas Hero Artsin Hydrangea, jonka väritin Distress Markereilla. Paperit ovat Crate Paperin, nauha juuttinarua ja perhoset leikattu Marthan lävistimellä. Reseptin ulkopuolelta tähän tuli vielä tuo piparireunainen huopa ja muutama helmi.

I haven't taken part in P*skarteluhaaste challenge for a long time so now is a good time to do that. This time the challenge is a recipe: 1 ribbon, 2 papers, 3 butterflies, and this is what I made with them. The stamped image is Hydrangea by Hero Arts which I coloured with Distress Markers and fussy cut out. The papers are by Crate Paper, the ribbon is regular jute twine and the butterflies are punched with a Martha Stewart punch. There are a couple of ingredients outside the recipe on my card as well, namely the pink felt and a few pearls.

Varjoja ja siluetteja - Shadows and silhouettes

Olen hiljattain löytänyt Ebayn ihmeellisen maailman ja sieltä erityisesti vanhojen Hero Arts -leimasinten houkutukset. Oi ja voi, olisi varmasti ollut järkevämpää jättää kyseinen tutustuminen väliin... ;D No, olen sieltä muutaman vanhan Heron leimasimen ostanut ja eilen kotiutuivat ensimmäiset: ihanat shadow stamp -leimat! Niitä piti päästä heti kokeilemaan ja tällainen simppeliäkin simppelimpi kortti tuli tehtyä. Leimasin tähän siis nuo suorakulmiot Hero Artsin shadow stampilla, musteena Victorian Velvet DI. Suorakulmioiden päälle leimasin sitten Inque Boutiquen Silhouettes-setistä tuon korren. (Ja nyt kaikki kuorossa: Ja siinä se! ;D )

I have just recently found the wonderful world of Ebay and the lures of vintage Hero Arts stamps. I can feel this was something I should not have done... ;D Well, so far I have bought a few vintage Hero Arts stamps and yesterday I got my first stamps in the post. Hooray for gorgeous shadow stamps! :) I had to try one out as soon as I could and this is what I came up with. Here I stamped the rectangles with a shadow stamp using Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and then I stamped the silhouette plant (whatever it is...) from the Inque Boutique set 'Silhouettes' with black ink on top of them.
