Christmas Post

Here's a Christmas card I made with a Penny Black stamp called Darling Delivery. I kept the card quite clean and simple, just the image on a panel die cut with Zig Zag Stackers die (Penny Black) and coloured with my Copics. I did add a bit of glitter to the image with a Nuvo glitter pen, and also some white gel pen accents. I inked the panel with Distress Oxide ink  in Tattered Rose and stamped my sentiment on it (it says 'Merry Christmas' in Finnish). I matted the panel onto a panel of pale pink cardstock and adhered it all onto my cardbase before embellishing the card with some pink gems.

More Poinsettias

My Christmas cards continue with the poinsettia theme. The stamp I used for these two cards is called Center Cut Holiday Floral by Simon Says Stamp (thanks for letting me use your stamp, Nonni!). I coloured both images with my Copics but just changed the colours a bit. I also added some Nuvo Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer pen to the little red berries as well as some white gel pen here and there. I used some Stickles glitter glue to line the center before adding my sentiments. For the first card I used a die and die cut the word out of gold foil cardstock and for the second card I heat embossed the sentiment - both sentiments say 'Christmas peace'. After matting the panels onto dark green cardstock, I embellished them with some gems.

Poinsettias

I recently treated myself to a bunch of new stamps and this gorgeous Festive Poinsettia from Alex Syberia Designs was one of them. I think the stamp itself is so stunning that I wanted it to take the center stage in my cards so I went for clean and simple design with the cards. I did the colouring on all of them with my Copics but changed the colours for each one. I then ink blended the backgrounds with Distress Oxide inks before heat embossing the sentiment (it says 'Merry Christmas') with Ranger embossing powder in the colour of Bubbly. Lastly, I embellished the cards with some gems.

Father's Day

It's Father's Day in Finland today and here's the card I made for my Dad. Somehow clean-and-simple always seems the best way to go with masculine cards and it's what I chose to do here.

I used products from Concord&9th, the stamp set is called Give Thanks and the die set Layering Leaves. I first stamped the images in different shades of blue (Distress Oxide inks in Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire) on a panel that I had die cut with a die from the Border Collection set by Penny Black. After the images had dried, I heat embossed the lines on the wheat. I then die cut the leaf that is on top of the middle image, and heat embossed it, too, before adhering it on top of the leaf. The sentiment on the little banner is heat embossed as well and it says 'To Dad'. I adhered the panel with foam adhesives on top of a panel that I had ink blended with Distress Oxide inks in Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. For embellishments, I used some silver gems.
