Penny Black: Hanging Planters - Amppeli

Penny Black: Special Friends

I simply love these bunnies from the Special Friends set by Penny Black! They're cute and whimsical at the same time which is just the perfect combination. For the first card, I stamped the bunny on Copic friendly cardstock, coloured it with my Copics and die cut it with the matching die. The banner (coloured with Copics as well), the sentiment, the leaves and the flowers are all from the same Special Friends set. The panel in the background is die cut with the Diamond Cut die out of white cardstock and I adhered a piece of vellum behind it. The patterned paper is from the paper pad Summertime.

For the second card, I stamped and die cut the bunny and then coloured it with my Copics. I did the same with the flower and I also added tiny accents with white gel pen to both the bunny and the flower. I sponged some Distress Oxide ink in Worn Lipstick on the background and die cut the Burlap Edge die out of light brown cardstock and adhered it to my cardbase. The sentiment is from the Happy Snippets set. I also rounded the upper corners of the card with a Corner Chomper.

Nämä Penny Blackin puput Special Friends -setistä ovat mielestäni niin ihania, suloisia mutta ei liian sokerisia. Teinkin niillä kaksi korttia, molemmissa puput on väritetty Copiceilla ja stanssattu irti. Ensimmäisen kortin banneri, tekstileima, lehdet ja kukat ovat  samasta Special Friends -setistä ja taustan ristikko on stanssattu Diamond Cut -stanssilla. Sen taustalle laitoin hieman vellumia ja kuviopaperia Summertime -setistä. Toisen kortin "maa" on stanssattu Burlap Edge -stanssilla, taustalla on hieman Distress Oxide -mustetta ja tekstileima on Happy Snippets -setistä.

Penny Black: Happy Birthday! - Hyvää syntymäpäivää!

I made a birthday card with this cutie of a mouse who seems to be flying his magic flower to deliver his birthday present :) The stamped image is from the new Critter Celebration set by Penny Black, I coloured the image with my Zig Markers and sponged a bit of blue Distress Oxide ink to the edges of the image. The sentiment is from the set Snippets. I created the frame with the new Swirly Stitches dies and attached it to the image. For the background, I used patterned paper from the Beau Jardin paper pad and a 'belt' die cut with the new Burlap Edge die. As my finishing touches, I added some small clear sequins to the image.

Penny Black: Ruusuja ja rakkautta - Roses and love

Ruusuja ja rakkautta tässä kortissa! Leimakuvana tässä on Penny Blackin ihana Rose Bowl, jonka väritin Gansai Tambi -vesiväreillä, leikkasin irti ja kiinnitin kohotarroilla. Taustalle stanssasin kehyksen Ribbon Stackers -setin stanssilla ja laitoin hieman kuviopaperia Painted Blooms -paperikosta. Tekstileima on Happy Snippets -setistä.

Roses and lots of love, that is what my card is made of! The stamped image I used is the gorgeous 'Rose Bowl' by Penny Black. I coloured it with my Gansai Tambi watercolours and fussy cut it out. I used foam adhesives to adhere it. For the background I die cut a frame using a die from the 'Ribbon Stackers' set. I also used a piece of patterned paper from the 'Painted Blooms' paper pad. The sentiment comes from the 'Happy Snippets' set.

Penny Black & The Flower Challenge -muistutus/reminder

Tällä kertaa minulla on tuplapostaus, sillä yhdistän The Flower Challengen muistutuskortin ja Penny Blackin Simplicity Sister -kortin yhteen ja samaan korttiin. The Flower Challengellä on 2-vuotisjuhlat tämän haasteen myötä, joten palkintojakin on tarjolla. Aiheenahan oli 'Add Sparkle' eli säihkettä ja kimallusta kukkakorttiin tarvittaisiin.

Tähän korttiin leimasin kukan Penny Blackin Happy Together -setistä ruskealla musteella ja jätin leiman Mistiin kiinni. Samoin tein tekstileiman (Penny Blackin Just Believe -setistä) kanssa. Tämän jälkeen väritin leimakuvan Gansai Tambi -vesiväreillä ja annoin kuivua, minkä jälkeen laitoin leimakuvan takaisin Mistiin ja leimasin sekä kukan että tekstin päälle Delicata Golden Glitz -musteella moneen kertaan. Tästä tuli leimakuvaan aivan ihana kimallus, joka luonnossa näyttää todella nätiltä - toivottavasti sen kuvistakin näkee. Lisäksi roiskin vielä hieman Distress Stainia (Tarnished Brass) leimakuvaan. Sitten stanssasin paneelin Penny Blackin Snowflake Stitch Frames -setin stansseilla ja kiinnitin sen pinkille kartongille, jonka leikkasin tasan paneelin kokoiseksi. Näin pinkkiä kartonkia ei näy reunoilta yhtään, mutta noista pienistä rei'istä kyllä. Sitten kerrostin paneelin kuviopaperille (Penny Blackin Beau Jardin -paperikosta) ja korttipohjaan kiinni.

It's a double post from me today as I'm combining my reminder card for The Flower Challenge and my Simplicity Sister card for Penny Black into one card. The Flower Challenge is in full swing, it's our 2nd birthday so do come and celebrate with us - there are even prizes to be won ;) The theme is 'Add Sparkle'.

To make this card, I stamped the flower image from the Penny Black set 'Happy Together' in brown ink onto watercolour cardstock and I left the stamp in my Misti. I did the same with the sentiment stamp which is from the Penny Black set 'Just Believe'. Then I watercoloured my image with my Gansai Tambi watercolours and let it dry. Then I placed the cardstock back in my Misti and stamped the image and the sentiment several times using Delicata Golden Glitz ink. This gives beautiful shimmer to the stamped image, it's really pretty in real life and I hope it shows in the photos too. I also splattered some Distress Stain in Tarnished Brass onto the image after which I die cut the panel with a die from the 'Snowflake Stitch Frames' set by Penny Black. Then I layered the panel onto some pink cardstock and cut it to make it the same size as my die cut panel. This way you don't have any pink cardstock showing from underneath the image, only from the little die cut holes. To finish the card, I layered the panel onto patterned paper from the 'Beau Jardin' paper pad by Penny Black before adhering it onto my card base.

Penny Black: Liiloja kukkia - Purple blooms

Tämänkertainen Penny Black -korttini on oikeastaan toisinto edellisestä kortistani, sama leimasetti ja sama layout, halusin näet kokeilla, miltä sama asettelu näyttää runsaammilla kukilla :) Leimasin kukat Pennyn setistä Radiant ja väritin ne Zigeillä. Stanssasin alareunan Curved Stitch -stanssilla ja lisäsin alaosaksi kuviopaperia Painted Blooms -paperikosta. Koko paneelin kiinnitin lilasta kartongista taittelemalleni korttipohjalle ja koristeiksi lisäsin muutaman lilan tarratimantin. Tekstileimaa en tähän käyttänyt, koska ajattelin, että varastossa on hyvä olla tekstittömiäkin kortteja, joita voi sitten tarpeen mukaan käyttää tilanteeseen kuin tilanteeseen.

My second card for Penny Black this month is actually a kind of take two of my previous card, I used the same stamp set and the same layout because I wanted to see what the same layout would look like with more flowers :) The stamp I used is from the set 'Radiant', I stamped it on Strathmore Bristol Vellum Finish cardstock and coloured with my Zig Markers. I then die cut the bottom edge with the 'Curved Stitch' die and added some patterned paper from the 'Painted Blooms' set underneath the panel before adhering the whole panel to a card base I folded from some purple cardstock. As a finishing touch, I added some purple sticky back rhinestones. I decided not to use a sentiment on this card as I think it's good to have some plain cards in your stash that you can use for basically any occasion.

Penny Black: Kissankellot - Bluebells

Kesäisiä kissankelloja! Kissankelloissa on kaunista herkkyyttä, jota yritin saada tähänkin korttiin näkyviin. Embossasin valkoisella kissankello-leiman Penny Blackin setistä Happy Together  ja väritin sen Zigeillä. Tekstileima on Snippets-setistä, leimasin sen harmaalla Archival Inkillä. Koko paneelin stanssasin Stitched Stackers -setin stanssilla ja kiinnitin tummansiniseen korttipohjaan.

I love bluebells! I love how delicate and dainty they look, and that is something I tried to capture in this card. I heat embossed the bluebells from the Penny Black set 'Happy Together' with white embossing powder and coloured the image with my Zig markers. After die cutting the panel with a die from the 'Stitched Stackers' set, I stamped the sentiment from the 'Snippets' set with grey Archival Ink. Lastly, I adhered the panel to dark blue cardbase.

Penny Black: Kaktukset ja mehikasvit - Cacti and succulents

Kesäkuun toisen Simplicity Sister -postauksen aika :) Leimakuvana tässä on ihana kaktus/mehikasvirivi Happy Together -setistä. Oikeasti tuossa rivissä on viisi kasvia, mutta en saanut niitä kaikkia tuohon sopivasti mahtumaan, joten leimasin vain kolme. Kuvan väritin Zigeillä. Tekstileima on Snippets-setistä ja paneeli on stanssattu Stitched Stackers -setin stanssilla. Taustalla on kuviopaperia Penny Blackin Beau Jardin -paperikosta.



It's time for my second post for June as Simplicity Sister for Penny Black :) I made this card using the lovely row of cacti/succulents from the 'Happy Together' set. The stamp actually has five plants in a row but I could not fit them all in my panel so I only stamped three (I covered the other two with a post-it note when adding ink to the stamp to protect them, then took it off before stamping). I did my colouring using my Zig markers, and stamped the sentiment from the 'Snippets' set. I die cut the panel with a die from the 'Stitched Stackers' set. For the background, I used patterned paper from the 'Beau Jardin' 6 x 6 paper pad

Uutisia - A Bit of News

Tänään minulla on kortin sijaan jaettavana uutisia! Aikaisemmin keväällä sain meilin, joka sai minut melkeinpä tipahtamaan tuolilta... Minua nimittäin pyydettiin mukaan Penny Blackin CAS-blogiin Simplicity at Its Best! Ja minä sanoin kyllä, kiitos! :) Tämä tarkoittaa siis sitä, että jatkossa teen pari korttia kuussa Simplicity Sisterinä, toisesta näette pienen kurkkauksen täällä ja kokonaan tuolla Simplicity at Its Best -blogissa ja toisen näette kokonaan täällä minun blogissani. Tänään on kurkkauksen aika, joten kannattaa suunnata Simplicity at Its Bestiin katsomaan koko kortit :)

Today I don't have a card to share with you, but I have some amazing news! Earlier in the spring I received an email and after reading it, I could have been knocked over with a feather... I was asked if I'd like to join Penny Black's CAS style blog 'Simplicity at Its Best' as a Simplicity Sister! If? If!? I love Penny Black, so there are no if's - of course I said 'yes, please'! (Well, I did ramble a bit more than that but that was my answer in a nutshell... :D ) So, from now on as a Simplicity Sister I'll share two cards a month made with gorgeous Penny Black goodies, one with only a sneak peek and one as a full card. Today I have the sneak peaks (yes, two..) so please head over to Simplicity at Its Best to see the full cards :)

And before I go, I would like to thank Penny Black and Jill Foster from the bottom of my heart for this amazing opportunity. I am overjoyed! and grateful! and happy! (and a bit nervous..!) and excited!  and... well, you know, really just happy to be a Simplicity Sister :)
