Tonttu ja kuusi - An elf and a tree

Tähän joulukorttiin tuli käytettyä vanhaa mutta ihanaa Whiff of Joyn leimaa, jonka väritin Copiceilla ja stanssasin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla. FinnStamperin tekstileiman leimasin niin ikään MFT:n stanssilla stanssattuun ympyrään, jonka keskelle laitoin napin. Taustalle vielä kuviopapereita ja kortti oli valmis.

I used an oldie but a cutie Whiff of Joy stamp for this Christmas card. I coloured it with my Copics and die cut the panel with a My Favorite Things die. I stamped my sentiment ('Christmas greetings' in Finnish) on a circle die cut with a MFT die and added a button in the middle. For the background I used some patterned papers.

1-vuotiaalle - For a 1-year-old

Taas tilauskorttia näytille, tällä kertaa kortti tarvittiin vuoden täyttävälle pojalle. Tein taas pari vaihtoehtoa, joista valita. Tässä ensimmäisessä leimakuvana on Whiff of Joyn Henry Celebrating Mouse, jonka  väritin Distress Markereilla ja jonka muffinssiin ja kynttilän liekkiin lisäsin hieman kirkasta Wink of Stellaa. Stanssasin leimakuvan ja mustetin reunoja. Tekstileima on You Do:n, leimattu vellumille ja stanssattu My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla. Lisänä stanssattu tähti ja muutama enamel dotsi. Paperi on Echo Parkia.

I have a commission card to show you again, this time I was asked to make a birthday card for a little boy turning one, and again I made a couple of cards from which to choose. The first card sports 'Henry Celebrating Mouse' by Whiff of Joy as its focal point. I coloured Henry with Distress Markers and added some clear Wink of Stella to the icing on his cup cake and the flame on the little candle. Then I die cut the image and inked the edges. The sentiment says 'For a 1-year-old' and it's stamped on vellum banner die cut with a My Favorite Things die. As embellishments there are some enamel dots and a die cut star. The patterned paper is by Echo Park.

Toiseen korttiin käytin tätä ihanaa The Artistic Stamperin Mabel Lucie Attwell -leimaa, jonka niinikään väritin Distress Markereilla. Stanssasin leimakuvan irti ja lisäsin siihen stanssatun ykkösen. Taustapaperi on October Afternoonia.

For the second card, I used this lovely Mabel Lucie Attwell/The Artistic Stamper stamp 'For You' which I coloured with Distress Markers. I die cut the image out and added a die cut number '1' to it, and attached the image with foam adhesives for a raised effect. The background paper is by October Afternoon.

Glitteriä ja lintu - Some glitter and a bird

Nyt, kun joulu on jo melkein ohi, laitan näytille vielä viimeisiä joulukortteja, koska eihän näihin kukaan ole vielä kyllästynyt, eihän... ;) Tämä kortti matkasi eräälle blogiystävälle ja käytin siihen tuota Whiff of Joyn ihanaa Uru and Bird -leimaa, jonka väritin Distress Markereilla. Tekstileiman leimasin vellumille ja kiinnitin leimakuvan taakse, samoin sinne kiinnitin tuon stanssatun lumihiutaleen, jonka päällystin Distress Glitterillä (Rock Candy). Lisäksi vielä (ihanan värinen :) ) nappi ja taustapaperi.

Are you growing tired of Christmas cards already? Hope not, as I still have got a few to share ;) I made this card for a bloggy friend. The rubber stamp I used is 'Uru and Bird' by Whiff of Joy and I coloured it with Distress Markers. I stamped the sentiment ('Christmas joy' in Finnish) on vellum and attached it so that it peeks from behind the stamped image. I did the same for the die cut snowflake. I also coated the snowflake with Distress Glitter in Rock Candy and attached a button on it as the final embellishment. Underneath it all I used a patterned paper (I think it was by Echo Park).

Seuraavaksi kerraksi on vielä muutama joulukortti mutta sitten ne taitavat olla tältä vuodelta ohi. Ja taas kerran vannon, että ensi vuoden joulukorttien teon aloitan aivan varmasti ajoissa.... ;D Kiitos, kun käväisit ja kiitos, jos kommentoit. Leppoisia välipäiviä! :)

Kotka - Eagle

Ja poikakortit jatkuvat, taas siis 8-vuotiskortti veljenpojalle 3/4 ;) En ole tuota kotkatirppaa kovin usein käyttänyt, joten nyt oli hyvä hetki käyttää sitä. Väritin ison tirpan Distress Markereilla ja lisäilin vähän valkoista geelikynää korostamaan sulkia. Paperin stanssasin muotoonsa Spellbindersin stanssilla ja alla olevan ruskean kartongin leikkasin käsin, että sain oikean kokoisen kehyksen. Numero 8 on stanssattu Timpan stanssilla. Taustan vihreään paperiin leimasin raidat Hero Artsin Large Canvas Stripes -taustaleimalla. Tästä tuli aika lailla tällainen peruskortti, en vain tiedä jäikö tuo tausta papereineen vähän turhan pliisuksi, olisiko kotka vaatinut taustakseen vähän tymäkämmät värit? No, tällä mennään kuitenkin.

Here's yet another birthday card for a boy, it's for my nephew #3 out of 4 ;) for his 8th birthday. I haven't used this eagle stamp that much so I thought it was a good time to use it now. I think the stamp is by Whiff of Joy but I'm not sure what it's called. Anyways, I coloured the big birdie with Distress Markers and added some highlights to his feathers with a white gel pen. I die cut the paper using a Spellbinders die and then I cut the brown cardstock behind it with my scissors in order to get a right sized frame. The number 8 is die cut with a Tim Holtz die. I stamped the green paper with the background stamp 'Large Canvas Stripes' by Hero Arts. I'm not sure if the background is a bit too wishy washy for the eagle, maybe he should have some stronger colours behind him? But it's too late to change that now so we'll just have to go with this ;)

Rakkaalle 2-vuotiaalle - For a special 2-year-old

Huhtikuun synttärisuma jatkuu eräillä erittäin tärkeillä synttäreillä, sillä kuun loppupuolella juhlii myös meidän mussukka, Maailman Suloisin Pieni Poika, joka täyttää jo huimat kaksi vuotta!!! :) Pojan isoisoäiti tilasi minulta synttärikortin, jonka hän voi antaa pojallemme ja tällainen siitä tuli (synttäreitä ei ole vielä juhlittu mutta uskaltanen blogata kortin kuitenkin - en nimittäin usko, että pieni sankari saa korttia silmiinsä blogistani ;) ). Leimakuvaksi valitsin Whiff of Joyn ihanan Henry-hiiren, mussukkamme on erittäin eläinrakas ja pitää varmasti juhlivista hiiristäkin :) Leimakuvan väritin pitkästä aikaa Distress Inkeillä ja tuntuu, että siitä ei oikein tullut mitään, ovat tainneet vähäiset taitoni päästä ruostumaan... DI:llä väritin myös pienen tagin, johon leimasin tekstin Taitopuoti Paperinauhan leimalla ja päälle väriä vielä Hero Artsin Envelope Pattern -leimalla. Tagin valkoisen narun vaihdoin sopivampaan vihreään. Numeron stanssasin Holtzin stanssilla ja tähdet Spellbindersin stansseilla. Paperit ovat BasicGreytä ja Echo Parkia, koristeena eyelettia ja nappia ja hieman glossya muffinssissa ja numerossa.

April hosts a very important birthday as our son, The Cutest Little Boy in the World, celebrates his 2nd birthday in late April!!! :) His greatgrandmother asked me to make a card that she could give to him and this is how it turned out (we haven't held his birthday party yet but I think I can blog his card anyway as I believe he won't be finding his way to my blog - or the computer for that matter - any time soon ;) ). I chose to use Henry the Celebrating Mouse by Whiff of Joy as my main image as our son is very keen on animals and I'm sure he'll love this cute little mouse. I coloured the stamped image with Distress Inks - I haven't done that in a while and I feel like my previously feeble talent has now become nonexistent... I coloured the little tag with DIs, too, stamped it with Hero Arts Envelope Pattern stamp and added the sentiment (which goes something like 'have a fabulously fun birthday'), I also changed the twine on the tag from white to green. I die cut the number with a Tim Holtz die and the stars with Spellbinders dies. The papers are by BasicGrey and Echo Park and as embellies there are an eyelet, a button and some Glossy Accents on the cupcake and the number.

Joulukuusen takana - Behind the Christmas tree

Löysin askarteluhuoneeni kätköistä vuosi sitten värittelemiäni leimakuvia ja käytin niistä yhden tähän. Leimakuva on siis Whiff of Joyn ja olen värittänyt sen Distresseillä, tänään lisäilin hieman kimallekynää joulukuusen tähteen ja palloihin ja tontun sukkiin. Paperit tässä on "distressinkattuja" (kyllä se on oikea suomen sana...) Echo Parkin joulupapereita ja tekstileima Taitopuoti Paperinauhan setistä. Tuon tekstin vieressä olevan tähtitarran väritin ruskealla ProMarkerilla, että se istuisi paremmin korttiin. Koristeina tässä on ihania pellavanaruja ja nappi - osallistunkin tällä (viime hetkillä... ;) ) Lauran korttihaasteeseen, jossa haasteena #3 on käyttää tarvikkeita ompelulaatikosta.

I found in my craft room some stamped images that I coloured a year ago and thought I'd make a quick Christmas card with one of them. This image is by Whiff of Joy and I've coloured it with Distress Inks, today I just added some glitter pen on the star and the baubles on the Christmas tree and on the little elf's stockings. The papers are by Echo Park (I just added some Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the edges) and the sentiment says (can you guess..?) 'Merry Christmas and Happy New Year' (what a surprise, right? ;) ). I'll submit this - at the very last minute - to Laura's card challenge where the challenge #3 is to use stuff on your card that you'll find in your sewing box - here I've used some gorgeous linen string and a fancy button.

Of mice and men ;)

Teen yleensä veljenpojilleni kaksi synttärikorttia, yhden annamme me ja yhden antaa mumma ja paappa. Olen jo aikaisemmin näyttänyt yhdet sekä 8 että 4 vuotta täyttäneille veljenpojilleni menneet kortit, tässä ovat loput kaksi. Ensimmäisessä skeittailee The Greeting Farmin Skater Ian ProMarkereilla väritettynä. Taustan tein Kim Dellow'n ohjeen mukaan, tosin jätin joitain noita paperin reunoja hieman irralleen saadakseni vähän rähjäistä poikameininkiä korttiin. Taustaan lisäsin paria Distress Inkiä ja kietaisin nauhaa ympärille. Numeron leikkasin kartongista ja lisäsin päälle yhden kerroksen UTEE:ta, siitä jäi tuollainen kiva märän/pisaraisen näköinen pinta. Lopuksi vielä hakaneula Ianin pipaan ja teksti Merjan ja Pammun setistä olevalla leimalla.

I usually make two cards for each of my nephews' birthday, one for us to give and one for their Grandma and Grandpa to give. I've already earlier shown you two cards for my nephews, one for the 8-year-old and one for the 4-year-old, here come the last two for them. On this first card there's Skater Ian from The Greeting Farm coloured with ProMarkers. I made the background with Kim Dellow's tutorial, I just left some of the paper edges free to give the card a bit raggedy boy feeling, and added some Distress Inks to it. I cut the number from cardstock and covered with one layer of clear UTEE to give it a nice wet look. As embellies there are some baker's twine and a safety-pin on Ian's hat. The sentiment says 'Congrats'.

Tämä toinen kortti on melko simppeli (taas kerran..). Taustana on Hero Artsin hauska ristikkoleima, jota hieman täytin asiaankuuluvilla sanoilla. Leimakuva on Whiff of Joy Henry Celebrating Mouse Distresseillä väritettynä ja Spellbindersilla stanssattuna. Koristeena tähtiklemmari ja paperitähti.

The second card is quite simple (once again..). I stamped the background with Hero Arts Crossword Background and filled the crossword with some words (my nephew's name, age, and the word 'congrats'). The stamped image is Whiff of Joy's Henry Celebrating Mouse, I coloured him with Distress Inks and die cut with a Spellbinders die. As embellies there are stars, a paperclip star and a paper star.

Keltaista kevättä - Yellow spring

Ulkona on aurinkoista ja lämmintä mutta me istumme sisällä - sekä perheen pienin että minä olemme kevätflunssan kourissa :| Onneksi pojan päikkärien aikaan ehdin sentään väkertää kortin :) Liekö kevätsää vaikuttanut, mutta varsin keltainen tuli tästäkin... ;) Leimakuva on Whiff of Joyn Citrus tree Distresseillä väritettynä. Alla on BasicGreyn paperi ja koristeina ihana keltainen nauha ja tuollainen baker's twine -tyyppinen naru. Rusetin keskelle lisäsin vielä pienen perhosen, jonka kiinnitin sekä liimatäplällä että parilla pistolla, jotka peitin sitten parilla ruskealla timantilla. Mitään tekstiä en tähän vielä laittanut, mutta lisään sitten, kun tiedän, mihin tarkoitukseen korttia tarvitsen.

It's nice and sunny and warm outside and what do we do? Stay indoors! Blah, both our son and I have a flu :| Not nice at all... At least while he was taking a nap I had time to make a card :) The sunny weather probably played a role in determining the colours for this card... ;) The stamped image is Whiff of Joy's Citrus tree coloured with Distress Inks. The paper I've used is by BasicGrey and I added a beautiful yellow ribbon and a baker's twine type of ribbon as embellies. I also added a little butterfly to the bow and I secured it with a glue dot and a couple of stitches which I then covered with a couple of rhinestones. I didn't add a sentiment but will do that when I know where and when I need the card.

Joulurauhaa, edelleen... - Christmas peace, still...

Joulusta on ehkä selvitty - mutta joulukorteistani ei! ;) Ajattelin nyt vielä pläjäyttää melko lailla viimeiset joulukortit tänne näkyville, eiköhän niistä sitten ole kutakuinkin selvitty. Leimakuvina näissä on Whiff of Joyn Uru and Bird ja Wee and Christmastree, väritykset Distress Inkeillä ja paperit tulevat BasicGreyltä ja Fancy Pantsiltä. Pitemmittä puheitta siis, melkein viimeiset joulukortit mallia 2010 tulevat tässä (okei, seuraavassa postauksessa tulee vielä pari korttia, jotka tein joulukorteiksi mutta koska ne mielestäni eivät ole ylettömän jouluisia, en laske niitä tässä vaiheessa joulukorteiksi - ihan vain siksi, että jaksaisit vielä täällä käydä etkä kyllästyisi jatkuviin joulukorttipostauksiin... hätä ei lue lakia ja sitä rataa... ;) )

Christmas is almost over and yes, I'm still posting Christmas cards! :) These are pretty much the last of my Christmas cards for this year and I cannot not post them, so please bear with me... Uru lintuineen - Uru and bird

Tässä kortissa on Whiff of Joyn Uru lintuineen. Vaatteet Urulle puin Fancy Pantsin paperista, muu väritys on Distress Inkeillä, joilla myös hieman tummensin vaatteiden reunoja. Jouluiloa-tekstileima on Taitopuoti Paperinauhan setistä, taustapaperi myös Fancy Pantsia ja kukkasen olen taitellut metallilangasta ihan itse :)

This little elf is Whiff of Joy's Uru with her bird. I paper pieced Uru's clothes from a Fancy Pants paper, used Distess Inks to colour the rest of the image and also shadow the edges of her clothing. The background paper is by Fancy Pants as well and I made the little flower myself by twisting some metal wire and adding a button as centre. The sentiment "block" says 'Christmas joy'.

Joulukuusen luona - By the Christmas tree

Jälleen kerran joulukorttia kaksin kappalein - kun aikaa on vähän, on pakko yrittää olla tehokas... ;) Tällä kertaa leimakuvana on Whiff of Joyn Charlotte decorating Christmas tree ja tekstileimasin on Stempelkellerin. Ajattelin, että tuo teksti sopisi tähän leimaan ja tekisi siitä ehkä hieman enemmän aikuisille suunnatun - leimakuvan tyttösessä on mielestäni tietynlaista vanhanaikaisuutta, "entistä joulua", josta tuossa tekstissä puhutaan. Ja onhan kuvassa lapsi kuusen luona, joten siltäkin osin teksti sopii :D Väritys on Distress inkeillä ja Derwentin Inktenseillä, lisäksi joulupalloissa on Glossy Accentsia samoin kuin tähdessä, jossa on Stickles-liimaa ja sen päällä Glossya. Paperit on BasicGreyn.

I've got two Christmas cards to show you - I don't have too much time to spend on crafting so I have to be efficient and make several cards at one go. The stamped image is Charlotte decorating Christmas tree by Whiff of Joy, the sentiment is by Stempelkeller (sorry, I won't translate it this time - I'm pressed for time again!). I coloured the image with Distress Inks and Inktense pencils by Derwent. There's some Glossy Accents on the little baubles and some Stickles glue underneath some Glossy Accents on the star. The papers are by BasicGrey.

Ekoja kertoja - First times

Meillä elettiin varsinaista ekojen kertojen viikkoa viime viikolla. Minä pääsin joogaan ensimmäistä kertaa sitten sen hetken, kun Pieni Tärkeä ilmoitti tulostaan ja voi valtavaa, miten ihanalta se tuntuikaan! Koko raskauden ajan näin säännöllisin väliajoin unta, että joogasin ja nyt, kun oikeasti joogasalille pääsin, niin olihan se mahtavuutta! :) Tärkeämpiä merkkipaaluja elettiin kuitenkin Pienen Tärkeän elämässä, hän nimittäin oppi kääntymään selältä vatsalleen ja rupesi opettelemaan kiinteiden syöntiä vellin muodossa (niin no, eihän se varsinaisesti kiinteää ole mutta tuhdimpaa silti kuin aikaisempi sapuska :) ). Huimaa kehitystä! Ihan juuri, vasta äsken minulla oli aivan pienenpieni vauva ja nyt hän on jo... no, ei enää niin pieni. Hienoa ja samalla jotenkin... haikeaa.

It was "first times week" in our house last week. I got to practice ashtanga yoga for the first time since the beginning of my pregnancy and boy, did it feel fine! I dreamt of doing yoga throughout the pregnancy and now that I actually got to do it - wow! :) But more important first times happened for the Tiny One. He learnt how to turn from his back to his belly and he began to eat solids (well, he basically just practices eating solids by eating a kind of very runny and smooth porridge but anyway..). Hooray for him! :)

Mutta asiaan. Sain vihdoin aikaiseksi tehdä muutaman joulukortin. Leimasin on Whiff of Joyn, paperit BasicGreytä, väritys on Distress Inkeillä mutta yhteen korttiin kokeilin päälle vielä kimaltavaa vesiväriä, jolloin sain väristä tummemman (minulla siis ei ole Distress Inkeistä täyttöpulloja vaan ihan mustetyynyillä menen) ja lisäksi leimakuvaan kivan hohteen. Luonnos on ABC Christmas Challengestä, jossa mennään jo Q-kirjaimessa aiheella Quick and easy. Extrahaasteena oli tehdä useampi kortti samalla pohjalla ja minähän tein sitten neljä. Osallistun tällä myös ensimmäistä kertaa Sir Stampalot Challengeen, jossa haasteena on Bring on the bling. Tässä tuota blingiä on nyt melko vaatimattomasti mutta toivottavasti tuo vesiväri ja nuo puolihelmet riittävät blingiksi.

Finally I got some Christmas cards done - hooray me! The stamp is by Whiff of Joy, papers by BasicGrey, colouring with Distress Inks except that I added some glittery watercolour to one of the images and it gave a nice effect with some nice shine. The sketch is by ABC Christmas Challenge where the challenge was Q - Quick and easy and the extra challenge was to make more than one card with the sketch - I made four. I also submit this to Sir Stampalot Challenge (it's my first time ever entering!), the challenge over there is Bring on the bling. My bling is somewhat modest - just the shimmery, glittery watercolour and a few pearls - but I hope it's enough.

Murjottaja? - Sulker?

Tässä tulee vielä yksi veljenpojalleni mennyt synttärikortti, joka minua pyydettiin tekemään. Olen melko harvoin käyttänyt tätä Whiff of Joyn leimaa, joten päätin tehdä kortin sillä. Minulla ei kuitenkaan ole mitään leimasinta, jolla leimata "istuma-alustaa" (tuolia, aitaa, porttia tms), joten käytin istuimena Taitopuoti Paperinauhan tekstileimasinsetissä olevaa onnea-neliötä, jonka päällystin kolmeen kertaan UTEE:lla - pitäähän istuimen nyt kiiltää.. ;)

Here's another card that went to my nephew and that I was asked to make. I haven't used this Whiff of Joy's stamp that often so I chose it for the card. As I don't have any chair/brick wall etc. stamp on which the boy could sit I decided to use a square stamp that says "congrats*congrats*congrats..." as a chair. Tein kortin sisäpuolelle taskun rahalahjaa varten./I made a little pocket inside the card for the gift (money). The sentiment says something like 'Congrats to a top guy'.

Jäin näin jälkeenpäin miettimään tuota leimakuvaa, josko poika näyttää liian mietteliäältä, sillä synttärisankarin veli kysyi kortin nähdessään, että miksi se poika murjottaa... Ei ihan se fiilis, jota korttiin hain ;) Onneksi synttärisankari itse ei ollut sitä mieltä, että poika näyttäisi murjottavalta!

I've been thinking if the boy in the stamp looks a bit too serious or like he's too deep in his thoughts as the birthday boy's brother asked when he saw the card: why the boy in the card sulks... Not quite the feeling I had in mind when I made the card ;) Luckily the birthday boy himself didn't share his brother's view of the card!

Joulukortteja - Christmas cards

Taas vaihteeksi pari joulukorttia. Näitä tulee tehtyä aivan liian hitaalla tahdilla, mutta josko sitä tästä nopeutuisi... jollain tavalla... :) Osallistun näillä samalla muutamaan haasteeseen: sekä Dutch Dare Card Challenges -haaste että Our Creative Corner -haaste on tällä kertaa "Joulu elokuussa", joten osallistun niihin. Tällä ensimmäisellä kortilla osallistun myös Papertake Weekly Challenge -haasteeseen, jossa sadannen haasteen kunniaksi sai itse valita vanhoista haasteista mieluisimman. Onnea Papertake Weekly! :) Valitsin Katharinan luonnoksen syyskuun ensimmäiseltä päivältä viime vuonna.

A couple of Christmas cards for a change. I know I'm making these way too slowly, I should be making Christmas cards like a woman possessed but maybe I'll pick up some speed... somewhere.. somehow... :) I'm submitting these cards to some challenges: both the Dutch Dare Card Challenges and Our Creative Corner challenge is having a theme this time, "Christmas in August" so these cards are perfect for those. I also submit this first card to Papertake Weekly Challenge, they're celebrating their 100th challenge and to honour the occasion, you get to choose your favourite from the past challenges. Congrats to Papertake Weekly! :) I chose Katharina's sketch from September 1st, 2008.

Käytin nyt ensimmäistä kertaa Camillalta saamaani Whiff of Joy -leimasinta, komeaa Thomasia. Se ei ehkä ole varsinaisesti joululeimasin mutta käynee sellaiseksi myös, kun kerran paketin päällä istuu :) Paperit ovat BasicGreyn Wassailia, lisäksi ruskeaa scrapper's flossia ja haaraniitillä kiinnitetty metallitähti.

I used the Whiff of Joy stamp that I got from Camilla for the first time now - it is the handsome Thomas, the celebrating eagle. I guess Thomas isn't exactly a Christmas stamp but I wanted to use him as such as he is sitting on a gift box after all :) The papers are BasicGrey's Wassail and I also added some brown scrapper's floss and a metal star attached with a brad. The text says 'Merry Christmas'.


Tein tämän toisen kortin Papertake Weeklyn edelliseen haasteeseen, mutta kuinka ollakaan myöhästyin sen postaamisessa! Mutta luonnos oli hyvä, joten sitä oli varsin mukava kuitenkin käyttää. Tässä on taas Thomas, tällä kertaa punaisen paketin päällä. Papereina on sekä BG:n Wassailia että Fancy Pantsin Happy Holidays -papereita ja Core'dinations-kartonkia. Lisäksi punaista punchinellaa ja dew dropseja.

I actually made this second card for the previous Papertake Weekly challenge but I was too late posting it! However, the sketch was great so I enjoyed using it. This card is featuring Thomas again, this time on a red gift box. The papers are BG's Wassail and Fancy Pants' Happy Holidays as well as some Core'dinations cardstock. I also used some red punchinella and a few dew drops. The text says again 'Merry Christmas'.

Friday Sketchers 62 + Secret Crafter #42, Sukkersött Sommer #4

Lisää joulukortteja pukkaa! :) Kun kerran vauhtiin pääsin, niin mikäpäs siinä. Tällä ensimmäisellä kortilla osallistun kahteen haasteeseen: Friday Sketchersiin ja Secret Crafter Saturday Challengeen. Ensimmäisessä haasteena on luonnos, jonka näet linkistä ja toisessa haasteena on käyttää 3 nappia, 2 design paperia ja 1 nauha. Leimakuvana tässä on Whiff of Joyn Charlotte decorating Christmas tree, jonka väritin pitkästä aikaa Derwentin vesivärikynillä. Tähteen, koristeköynnökseen ja Charlotten hiuskoristeeseen lisäsin hieman Gelly roll -kimallekynää. Paperit ovat Fancy Pantsin Happy Holidays -paperikosta. Napit ovat Woodwarelta ja nauha varastoista.

These Christmas cards just keep on coming! :) But let them come, I say! I submit this first card to two challenges: Friday Sketchers and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge. In the first the challenge is the sketch which you can find if you click on the link and in the second the challenge is to use 3 buttons, 2 design papers and 1 ribbon. The stamp I used is Whiff of Joy's Charlotte decorating Christmas tree which I coloured with Derwent watercolour pencils (haven't used them for ages!). I applied a little Gelly roll glitter pen to the star, the decorative garland and Charlotte's hair band. The papers are from the Happy Holidays set by Fancy Pants , buttons are by Woodware and the ribbon is from my stash.


Tällä toisella kortilla osallistun Sukkersöttin Sommer #4 luonnoshaasteeseen. Leimakuvana tässä on Whiff of Joyn Molly the Celebrating Sheep, jonka niinikään väritin vesivärikynillä. Paperit ovat samaa Fancy Pantsia, lisänä hieman punchinellaa ja dew dropseja. Kortti aukeaa "ylöspäin".

I submit this next card to Sukkersött's Sommer #4 sketch challenge. The stamp I used is Molly the Celebrating Sheep by Whiff of Joy and I coloured it with the watercolour pencils as well. Again the papers are by Fancy Pants, and I added some punchinella and dew drops. The text says 'Merry Christmas'. Sweet and simple!



Tänään on sitten viimeinen kesälomapäivä ja huomenna pitää taas töihin, voi kurjuutta! Kuinka neljä viikkoa voi mennä näin nopeasti?! Vaikkakaan eipä sitä oikein voi valittaa, kun vielä on työpaikka, jonne mennä, näinä aikoina kun se ei tunnu olevan aina niin varmaa. En siis valita, jään vain hiljaa kaipaamaan aamuja, joina voi nukkua pitkään..! ;)

So today is the last day of my summer hols and tomorrow I'm off to work again, oh woe is me! How can four weeks go by so fast?! Although I can't really complain as I still have a job to go to, these days it seems that you can't really take it for granted that you have a job, so I really should just count my blessings here. So no more complaining! (I'll just quietly miss the slow mornings when you can sleep for as long as you want to... ;) )

StampARTic: heinäkuun haaste - July challenge

Kun tässä nyt on haasteisiin ruvettu osallistumaan, niin osallistutaan sitten urakalla! :) Tällä kertaa tein kortin StampARTicin heinäkuun haasteeseen, johon kivan luonnoksen on tehnyt Marianne. Lisähaasteena oli sinisen ja ruskean käyttö kortissa. Kiitos Mariannelle mahtavasta luonnoksesta!

Challenges, challenges, challenges - I'm really getting into the swing of things with them! :) This time I'm taking part in StampARTic's July challenge. The lovely sketch is by Marianne and as additional challenge comes the use of brown and blue. Thank you, Marianne, for this wonderful sketch, I had fun with it!

Poikkesin kortissani hieman luonnoksesta, sillä käytin ympyrää ovaalin sijaan - toivottavasti tämä sallitaan! Leimasimena on Whiff of Joyn juhliva Henry-hiiri (tämä veikkonen on niin onnellisen näköinen muffinssinsa kanssa :) ). Muffinssin päällysen koristelin irtosametilla, jossa on hieman glitteriä ja tulenliekkiin laitoin hieman Glossy Accentia, mutta jälleen kerran näitä on turha yrittää nähdä kortissa (jos sinulla on vinkkejä siihen, miten tällaiset yksityiskohdat saa erottumaan kuvissa, niin kerrothan..!). Molempien leimakuvien ympärille laitoin hieman Distress Inkin Vintage photoa. Paperit on BasicGreyn Offbeat ja Cupcake, sininen kartonki on Core'dinationsia. Haasteluonnoksessa noiden kahden paperin alla oli vielä yksi isompi neliönmallinen paperi - itse en halunnut korttiin enää lisää värejä, joten korvasin sen paperin piirtoheitinkalvolla! Se näyttää itse asiassa ihan kivalta kortissa, kun se heijastelee valoa. Muutenkin tykkään, kun kortissa on erilaisia pintoja, jotka tuntuvat erilaisilta sormeen.

I hope it doesn't matter, but in my card I slightly deviated from the sketch: I used a round shape instead of an oval one. The rubber stamp is Henry the celebrating mouse by Whiff of Joy (I just love the happy look on this little fella's face! :) ). I decorated the muffin (or is it a cupcake?) with yellow glitter velvet and added some Glossy Accent to the flame, but once again you can't really see them in the piccie (if you have any ideas as to how I can get these little details to show in the picture, please do tell me..). The papers are BasicGrey's Offbeat and Cupcake and the blue cardstock is by Core'dinations. In the sketch, there was one more layer of paper underneath the two rectangular papers but I didn't want to add another colour to my card, so instead of paper I used a clear transparency (of the kind you use with overhead projectors). It may sound funny, but it actually looks kinda nice when it catches the light and I like it when cards have different textures you can feel with your finger.

Sisäpuolelle laitoin valkoisen paperin, jonka reunoille laitoin hieman mustetta.

I decorated the inside with simple white paper, the sides of which I distressed with Vintage photo ink.
