PBSC: July

It's time for July challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The theme for July is Anything Goes and the optional theme is The Great Outdoors.

My great outdoors is a field of pretty flowers and butterflies created with Penny Black's Floral Impressions stamp set. I stamped the images on Copic friendly cardstock and coloured them with my Copics adding tiny details with a white gel pen. I then masked the edges of the panel before sponging some Distress Oxide inks in Speckled Egg and Salvaged Patina (for the blue) and Bundled Sage and Rustic Wilderness (for the green) on the panel. Before I removed my masking, I splattered the panel with some bronze and white watercolour. I then heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set onto a strip of black cardstock and adhered it in place.

Hollyhock Heaven #2

I wanted to do some colouring over the weekend and chose to use Hollyhock Heaven by Penny Black as my stamped image to do the colouring on. I simply love this stamp!

I did my colouring with my Copics and added a bit of white gel pen here and there on the flowers. I masked the edges of the panel and sponged some Distress Oxide inks (Speckled Egg and Salvaged Patina) on it before splattering some bronze and white watercolour on the panel. I then die cut the word 'hello' with the Hello Edger die a couple of times out of grey cardstock and then once out of white cardstock and layered the words on top of each other so that the white word shows from behind the grey one. I then used a sentiment from the Hello Builder set, heat embossed it in white on a strip of black cardstock before adhering both sentiments on my card.

Graceful

It's time for a midway reminder for the June challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge where the theme is, as always, Anything Goes with the optional theme of Masculine.

For my card, I used a new Penny Black stamp called Graceful and the exact matching die, Graceful Cut Out. I coloured the flowers with my Copics, added a touch of white gel pen to the flowers and did a bit of paper piecing for the vase. The patterned paper I used is from the paper pad Coco Style (now discontinued), after cutting it with scissors according to the stamped lines, I slightly sponged it with some Distress Oxide ink to better match it with the other colours I chose for this card. The circle in the background is done by using a mask die cut with the Jumbo Bauble die and sponging some Distress Oxide inks and stamping the circle with Refined stamp. After adhering the stamped image to the panel (I adhered the vase with glue and the flowers themselves with foam adhesives to make them stand out a bit), I stamped the sentiment from the same Graceful stamp set. Then I simply adhered my panel onto some purple cardstock before adhering it all to my cardbase.

Just a Note

I couldn't resist playing with the Floral Impressions set by Penny Black again. The dainty flowers in this set are just so pretty!

I coloured the stamped flowers and the butterfly with Copics before die cutting the edge of the panel with a die from the set Border Collection. The sentiment I used is from the Hello Builder set. I then stamped and heat embossed the background with Contemporary background stamp before sponging it with bue ink. After adhering it to the cardbase, I adhered the panel with the flower onto some craft foam and onto the cardbase. Lastly, I embellished the card with some black rhinestones.

Hollyhock Heaven

This floral stamp is one of my favourites from the new Penny Black collection called Hello Sunshine. The stamp is called Hollyhock Heaven.

I stamped the image only partially on the panel and coloured it with my Copics. I then die cut the edge of the panel with a die from the set Border Collection before stamping the sentiment from the new Floral Impressions stamp set (I love those fonts!). I then adhered a piece of pink cardstock on my cardbase and adhered my panel onto some craft foam before adhering it to the cardbase. Lastly, I embellished the card with some pink enamel dots.

Wonderful Day

I couldn't resist playing with the Wonderful Day stamp set from Penny Black again, I think these hedgies are just so cute! Again I paired them with new stamps and dies from the current release called Hello Sunshine 2023.

I coloured the images with my Karin markers and used the new Hello Edger die to die cut the top part of the panel and to die cut the word 'hello'. I then used the Hello Builder stamp set to add the secondary sentiment. For the part peaking from behind the main panel, I used the Contemporary background stamp, heat embossed it in white and sponged some Distress Oxide ink in Scattered Straw to colour the background.  Lastly, I adhered the two panels onto a cardbase.

Floral Impressions

This card turned out very clean-and-simple. I love this daisy from the new Penny Black stamp set called Floral Impressions and I wanted to make it stand out so I decided not to add much else to the card.

I stamped the daisy on kraft coloured Neenah cardstock and coloured the image with my Copics, as I did the tiny little butterfly. I die cut the panel with Leaf Stitched Frames die and stamped the sentiment from the same Floral Impressions stamp set (I just love the fonts on that sentiment!). And that was it! As CAS as it can be!

Hello

This card mixes and matches new Penny Black goodies with some older ones. The lovely hedgie sitting on his flower is from a previously released stamp set called Wonderful Day and I wanted to pair that with the die cut sentiment which is a new die from the current release.

I coloured the image with my Karin markers and fussy cut it out. I then die cut the word 'hello' using the new Hello Edger die (without the edger part) and used it as the stem of the flower. I created the background by masking the edges of the panel and sponging some Distress Oxide inks in Mermaid Lagoon and Peeled Paint onto the panel. Then I stamped the grass part of the rectangle with a stamp from Footnotes stamp set and splattered the panel with some water and Distress ink in Vintage Photo. I adhered the die cut 'hello' to the panel and stamped the words 'my friend' with a stamp from the new Hello Builder stamp set before adhering the hedgie with some foam adhesives. Lastly, I die cut the little butterfly with Soaring die, adhered it in place and embellished it with a sticky back pearl.

Pure Sunshine

I made this card with new stamps from the new Penny Black release, Hello Sunshine. This stamp is called Pure Sunshine.

This is a very clean-and-simple card, almost one-layer except for the enamel dots. I coloured the image with my Copics before masking the edges of the panel and sponging some Distress Oxide inks in Antique Linen, Scattered Straw and Fossilized Amber to create the rectangle. I then used the Hello Builder sentiment set to create the sentiment. Lastly, I embellished the card with some enamel dots.
