Guest Designing at Just Us Girls - Challenge #814

It's my second week of being a Guest Designer for Just Us Girls challenge. This week is Word Week and the theme for challenge #814 is Emboss. A nice and easy one, wouldn't you say?

I did both dry embossing and heat embossing for my card. First, I masked a rectangle on my white panel and ink blended some Distress Oxide inks to it before splattering the masked rectangle with some brown ink. Then I used an embossing folder by Penny Black called Filigree and used it on my panel (unfortunately, the dry embossing doesn't show clearly in the photo but if you zoom in, you can see it's there). I then stamped Bunches of Love florals from Gina K Designs and coloured the image with my Copics before die cutting it with its matching die and adhering it in its place. To keep with the theme, I heat embossed a sentiment from Blessings of Spring stamp set by Gina K Designs on a strip of dark brown cardstock and adhered it in place with foam adhesives. Lastly, I embellished the card with some brown gems.

Guest Designing at Just Us Girls

I was invited to be a Guest Designer for Just Us Girls challenge for the month of March - thank you so much for the invite and the honour! This week is Die Week and the theme for challenge #813 is Luck/Green.

I went through my dies while searching for something suitable for this week's theme and came by this lovely little rainbow die from MFT called Rainbow Whimsy. Now rainbows are lucky signs, aren't they? So, to make my card, I die cut the rainbow from cardstock in different shades of green and adhered the rainbow onto a panel die cut with Stitched Rectangle Stax die (MFT) using foam adhesives. I also die cut the larger white panel with the same MFT dies and matted it onto a piece of green cardstock. The panel behind the smaller white panel is die cut with Lacy Rectangle Stackables die from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment I used is from Dandelion Wishes stamp set by Mama Elephant - I thought it would be perfect for the Luck theme. Lastly, I embellished my card with some green sequins.

The Color Throwdown #740

I am lucky to be the Featured Stamper for the current Color Throwdown challenge - thank you so much for having me, ladies! You can see the inspiration colours in the graphic below, they are dusty rose, blush and white. I tried to match them as closely as I could in my card.

The stamp I used is from Weekend Doodles set by Altenew. I coloured the image with my Copics and die cut it with the matching die. I die cut the panel with Semi-Circle Stackers die by Penny Black, stamped the sentiment from the Weekend Doodles set on it and adhered the wreath on the panel. I then adhered the panel onto a piece of craft foam before adhering it onto the card base. Lastly, I embellished the wreath with some black  gems.

Guest Designing at TIME OUT Challenges - Vieraana TIME OUT Challengessä

I have the great pleasure of being the Guest Designer at TIME OUT Challenges this fortnight - thank you so much, ladies! The theme is 'In Love' and the winner of the challenge wins $15 coupon to Alex Syberia and a Guest Designer spot for a future challenge at TIME OUT Challenges. Worth playing along, right!?

I went for a quite literal interpretation of the theme and chose to use these two adorable lovey-dovey hedgies from Penny Black. They're from the set HedgeHUGS. After stamping the images, I coloured them with my Copics adding a bit of Polychromos pencils to the hot air balloon heart. I then masked a rectangle on the panel and sponged some Distress Oxide inks in Speckled Egg and Bundled Sage to it. I also used a Penny Black border die from the die set Border Collection to die cut the bottom of the panel before adhering the panel onto my cardbase. After stamping the sentiment from the HedgeHUGS set, I embellished the card with some pink enamel dots.

Guest Designing at AAA Cards - Vieraana AAA Cardsissa

I have the huge honour of being the Guest Designer for the current challenge at AAA Cards - thank you so much, ladies, for having me! The theme is Up to One Third with the optional twist of Leaves.

I decided to go for the optional twist and used stamps from the Winnie & Walter set Renee's Leaves. I coloured the stamped images with my Copics using autumnal colours. For the background, I masked the upper corner and sponged some Distress Oxide ink in Brushed Corduroy along the upper one third of my card base. I then arranged and adhered the leaves, added the heat embossed sentiment (from the Snippets set by Penny Black), and embellished the card with a little twine bow and a single enamel dot.

I interpreted the theme literally as moving one's body and this Yoga Mochi Girl by Stamping Bella sure does move her body! I wanted to keep the design clean and simple so I just coloured the image with my Copics and stamped the sentiment from Stamping Bella's Good Vibes sentiment set. I die cut the panel with Sewing Stackers die by Penny Black, added a bit of patterned paper behind it and embellished the card with some clear sequins.

Inkspirational Challenges: Guest Designer

I'm very lucky to be guest designing for Inkspirational Challenges this month and now it's time for the 3rd challenge of the month and at the same time my last card as a Guest Designer. The theme is 'Designer's Choice' and this time it is '3 or 5 of something'.

If you follow me on Instagram, you've seen these stamped images before - I coloured them for The 30 Day Coloring Challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin (aka The Daily Marker) and as there are 3 of the stamped images, I thought they were perfect for this challenge! The images are from 'Wildflowers' set by MFT, I coloured them with my Copics and die cut them out. I die cut the frame with an MFT die and adhered it straight to the card base. I heat embossed my sentiment (Finnish for "Birthday Wishes") on a strip of black cardstock and adhered it in place after I had adhered the flowers and leaves. I embellished my card with sequins (3 of them!).

Käytin korttiini kolme leimakuvaa, nämä ovat MFT:n Wildflowers-setistä. Väritin ne Copiceilla ja stanssasin irti. Kehyksen stanssasin MFT:n stanssilla ja tekstin embossasin mustalle kartonkisuikaleelle. Koristeina (kolme!) paljettia.

Time Out Challenges: Guest Designer

It's my second post as the Guest Designer for Time Out Challenges. This time Time Out challenges us to be funny :)

For my card, I used the parachuting mouse from the Penny Black set It's Your Day. I think he's funny in a very cute manner! I coloured him with my Zig markers and die cut him out. I then die cut the sentiment with a Winnie & Walter die, I actually die cut several hellos so that I could stack them all on top of each other. The frame is die cut with dies from Stitched Nested Frames set by Penny Black, and for the background I used some pretty patterned paper. I also added a few clear sequins as embellishments.

Time Out Challenges: Guest Designer

 

I am so honoured to be the Guest Designer for Time Out Challenges for the coming forthnight, thank  you so very much for having me, ladies! The theme for the challenge is a funny one ;) as Time Out challenges you to be funny :)

I had a look at my stamps and thought that this little fella has the funniest look on his face. He's from the Polynesian Paradise set by My Favorite Things. I coloured him and the little flowers with my Copic markers and die cut them out. I then die cut the background with a Create a Smile die and stamped the sentiment from the Polynesian Paradise set before adhering the panel onto a card base that I folded from yellow cardstock. I then adhered the little fella in place - I think he likes to laze around on the flowers :)

Penny Black Saturday Challenge: Guest Designer

It's reminder time at Penny Black Saturday Challenge where I'm guest designing this month. The theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of Partial Stamping.

For my card I used a stamp from the Penny Black set Flower Fantasy. I die cut the panel with a Penny Black die from the set Swirly Stitches and stamped the flower on it partially four times before watercolouring them. I also added a few watercolour splashes here and there before I stamped the sentiment from the set Special Sentiments. Then I matted the panel onto some dark blue cardstock before adhering it onto light blue cardbase.

Inkspirational Challenges: Guest Designer - Garden

I'm thrilled to be guest designing for Inkspirational Challenges for the  month of June and it's time for the second challenge of the month. It's a lovely challenge with the word prompt of 'Garden'.

There's a reason why I chose this stamp, Penny Black's Unfolding, for the Garden challenge. I'm terrible at identifying flowers but these blooms look like peonies to me and... I will be getting my own flower bed full of peonies soon! Yay! I love peonies and I'm so excited to have some in my garden soon :) And yes, they will be pink ones ;) But as to my card, I stamped the image straight onto Ranger watercolour paper and coloured it with my watercolours. I then sponged some Distress Oxide ink in Bundled Sage onto the bottom of the card. I decided to heat emboss the sentiment (it says, loosely translated, 'Birthday Wishes' in Finnish) in white onto a strip of dark grey cardstock and attached it onto the card.

Kesäkuussa saan olla guest designer Inkspirational Challengesissä ja nyt alkavan haasteen teemana on puutarha. Valitsin tämän leiman (Penny Blackin Unfolding) korttiini, koska nuo kukat muistuttavat pioneja ja minä olen saamassa pionipenkin puutarhaani :) Mutta korttiini siis leimasin Unfolding-leiman suoraan korttipohjaan, jonka taittelin Rangerin vesiväripaperista. Leimakuvan väritin vesiväreillä ja alareunaan mustetin Distress Oxide -mustetta. Tekstileiman embossasin kartonkisuikaleelle ja kiinnitin korttiin.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge: Guest Designer

I have the absolute honour of being a Guest Designer for Penny Black Saturday Challenge for the month of June, thank you so much for having me! This month the challenge is 'Anything Goes, optional Partial Stamping'. So anything Penny Black goes but if you want a bit of extra challenge, you can go for partial stamping (that is when you use only a part of a stamp in your project, not the whole stamp).

I opted for partial stamping in my card. The stamp I used is Friendship by Penny Black and I only used one of the dogs in my card (you can see the whole stamp used in this card). I stamped the dog and die cut it using the matching die. I then coloured him with my Copics. I wanted him to peek from behind something so I die cut a couple of notepad pages to place in front of him (now I know a dog that size might not actually fit behind notepad pages but just humour me and pretend that he can ;) ). For the notepad pages and the little pin holding them, I used Just a Note dies by Penny Black. The sentiment is from Grateful Sentiments set by Penny Black. I die cut the cork panel with Stitched Nested Frames die as I did the patterned paper from the paper pad Summertime. I then attached everything in place and embellished the card with a couple of chipboard hearts. Oh, and I placed a piece of adhesive foam tape behind the dog's head - that way his head is a bit raised and it looks like he's really peeking from behind the notepad pages!

Haasteen aihe on aina Anything Goes Penny Blackin tuotteilla, mutta vaihtoehtoisena haasteena on nyt 'partial stamping', jossa leimakuvasta käytetään vain osaa. Itse käytin Penny Blackin Friendship-leimaa, josta leimasin ja stanssasin yhden koiran (koko leimakuvan näet tästä kortista) ja väritin sen Copiceilla. Koiran eteen stanssasin Just a Note -setin stansseilla pari vihkonsivua ja "kiinnitin" ne pienellä neulalla, jonka myös stanssasin saman setin stanssilla. Tekstileima on Grateful Sentiments -setistä. Taustan korkin ja kuviopaperin stanssasin Stitched Nested Frames -setin stansseilla. Kiinnitin kaiken paikalleen ja koristelin kortin parilla sydämellä. Koiran pään kiinnitin kohotarralla, ajattelin, että sillä tavalla koiran saa näyttämään siltä kuin se oikeasti kurkkaisi sivujen takaa.

Inkspirational Challenges: Guest Designer

I have the honour of being a Guest Designer over at Inkspirational Challenges for the month of June. Thanks so very much, ladies, for having me! The first challenge of the month starts now and it is a photo challenge, please see the inspiration photo below.

I was totally inspired by the bold areas of colour against white in her clothes and started from there. I used stamps by Concord & 9th called Wildflower and first stamped the backside of the floral stamp with different coloured inks and then turned the stamp and stamped the black outlines with the right side of the stamp. I then die cut the panel with a die from the Penny Black set called Stitched Nested Frames. I die cut the sentiment with a Winnie & Walter die and stacked a few of them on top of each other to make the sentiment a bit more prominent. And if, by any chance, you're wondering why I have used gray ink in my card, the reason is that I first looked at the inspiration photo on my phone and saw one of the colours as gray. It was only when I uploaded the inspiration photo on my blog that I noticed it is not gray but light blue! Oops! But I think gray goes well with those bold colours too ;)

Vahingossa käytin kortissa myös harmaata... Katsoin inspiraatiokuvaa aluksi puhelimelta ja näin yhden värin harmaana. Vasta, kun latasin kuvan blogiini, huomasin, että se onkin vaaleansininen! Noh, harmaa taitaa sopia noihin väreihin myös... ;)

CAS(E) This Sketch! #322 - Guest Designer

I have the absolute honour of being the Guest Designer over at CAS(E) This Sketch! challenge this week - thanks for having me, ladies! It's CAS(E) This Sketch! #322 and you can see the sketch below. For my card, I used the stamp Bed of Roses by Winnie & Walter, I coloured it with my Copic markers. The sentiment is from the set Snippets by Penny Black and I heat embossed it in white on a strip of black cardstock. I then adhered it to the panel and the panel onto my card base.

Tekstileima on Penny Blackin Snippets-setistä, embossasin sen valkoisella mustalle kartonkisuikaleelle ja kiinnitin kaiken paikalleen.

Less Is More #393: Guest Designer

I have the absolute honour of being a Guest Designer for the current Less Is More challenge - thank you so much, ladies, for having me! It's a colour challenge this time with the cue words being 'Subtle Colours'. I decided to make a spring time thank you card with subtle spring colours and this is what I created. I used the 'Beautiful Friend' stamp and die by Clearly Besotted Stamps and did my colouring with my Copic Markers. I also added a bit of white gel pen to the image and attached the image with foam adhesives. For the background I simply die cut a circle using circle dies. The sentiment says 'Thank You' in Finnish. I also rounded the upper corners of my card with a Corner Chomper.

Minulla on kunnia olla Guest Designerina Less Is More -haasteessa ja tällä kertaa kyseessä on värihaaste teemalla 'Subtle Colours'. Käytin korttiini Clearly Besottedin Beautiful Friend -leimaa ja -stanssia. Leimakuvan väritin Copiceilla, lisäilin hieman valkoista geelikynää ja kiinnitin sen tarrapaloilla. Taustalle stanssasin ympyrän. Kortin kulmia pyöristin Corner Chomperilla.

Create a Smile: Poppy - Unikko

Create a Smile has a Facebook group called Create a Smile Friends & Family and every month they host a new challenge over there. I was very lucky to win their February challenge with this card (please click the link to see the card) and to be invited to be their guest designer for the April challenge. Thank you so much, Create a Smile!

The challenge this month is One Layer. I created my card by folding a card base from X-Press It blending card and stamping the gorgeous poppy from the Pure Poppies set on it. I coloured the poppy with my Copic Markers. I then masked the edges of my card with masking tape and added a bit of Distress Oxide ink in Fossilized Amber with my brush to create the rectangle behind the poppy. Unfortunately, I don't have any Create a Smile sentiment stamps so I used one from the Uniko set called Pure Florals: Peony. Taittelin korttiini korttipohjan Copic-ystävällisestä kartongista ja leimasin sille tämän ihanan unikon Pure Poppies -setistä, jonka väritin Copiceilla. Maskasin sitten kortin reunat ja tein unikon taustalle suorakulmion Distress Oxide -musteella. Create a Smilen tekstileimoja minulla ei ole, joten käytin tähän Unikon tekstileimaa Pure Florals: Peony -setistä.

Flower Challenge -muistutus - The Flower Challenge reminder

Nyt on aika muistutella The Flower Challengesin haasteesta, jossa minulla on kunnia olla vieraana. Aihe on siis one layer card, ei kerroksia, ei liimattavia koristeita, vain yhden tason kortti kukka-aiheella. Tein omani Concord and 9th:n Lily-leimalla, jonka leimasin suoraan neliökorttipohjaan. Tekstileima on samasta setistä. Leimaamisen jälkeen maskasin korttipohjaan neliön, jonka reunoja mustetin Distress Oxidella.

It's time to remind you of the current challenge over at The Flower Challenge where I have the honour of being the Guest Designer this month. The theme is One Layer Card, so no additional layers, just stamping on the card base. And remember to use a flower image. I made my card using the 'Lily' stamp by Concord & 9th, I stamped it straight to the card base as I did the sentiment too. After stamping, I masked a square on to the card base and sponged some Distress Ink to the edges. And that's it, a simple one layer card!

Vieraana Flower Challengessä - Guesting at The Flower Challenge

Elokuussa minulla on kunnia olla vieraana The Flower Challengesissä, jossa kuukauden haasteena on 'One Layer Card'. Ei siis kerroksia tai liimattavia koristeita, vain "yhden tason kortti", jossa pääosassa on kukkaleima. Omaan korttiini tein ensin tuon boordin maskaamalla ja Distress Oxidea levittämällä. Siihen päälle lisäsin vielä sydämiä levittämällä pinkkiä Distress Oxidea Create a Smilen sapluunan läpi. Leimakuva on Stamping Bellan Mason Jar of Flowers, jonka väritin Copiceilla. Tekstileima on Simon Says Stampia.

I have the huge honour of being the Guest Designer for the month of August for The Flower Challenge. Thank you so much, Viv and Aileen, for having me! :) The challenge for August is One Layer Card, so no layers, no additional embellishments - just one layer with a floral image. I created my card by first creating the pink border on my card base by masking and sponging on some Distress Oxide ink. I then added the hearts by sponging another pink Distress Oxide ink through a stencil by Create a Smile Stamps. The floral image is a Stamping Bella stamp called 'Mason Jar of Flowers' which I coloured with my Copic markers. The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp.

Guest Designer at AAA Cards - Vieraana AAA Cardsissa

I have some great news! I was asked to be a Guest Designer at AAA Cards for the current challenge and I am so thrilled! The theme for the CAS Game #107 is 'Chilled' (you can see the challenge graphic below) and this is my interpretation of it. After a little pondering, I decided to use this oldie but goldie stamp by Magnolia called 'Fir in Snow'. I stamped the image on the card base and masked the sides, the fir, the ground and even the snowflakes (cutting those snowflakes out of masking paper was an exercise in patience, let me tell you...). I then sponged some Distress Inks to make the sky, removed all the masking paper and coloured the fir and the ground with my Zigs. The sentiment is by Penny Black, I heat embossed it on a banner die cut with a My Favorite Things die. I attached the banner with foam adhesives so it's a bit raised from the card base. 

Huippu-uutisia! Minua pyydettiin Guest Designeriksi AAA Cardsin tämänhetkiseen haasteeseen, jossa aiheena on 'Chilled' (inspiraatiokuva alempana), ja innolla olen mukana! Päätin tehdän korttini tällä Magnolian vanhalla mutta ihanalla leimalla 'Fir in Snow', jota en ole hetkeen käyttänyt. Leimasin sen korttipohjaan, maskasin reunat, puun, maan ja jopa nuo lumihiutaleet (joissa oli vähän tekemistä...) ja mustetin taivaan Distress Inkeillä. Sitten poistin maskaukset ja väritin puun ja maan Zigeillä. Tekstileima on Penny Blackin, embossasin sen My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla stanssatulle bannerille, jonka kiinnitin kohotarroilla.

Uudelleen vierailulla STAMPlorationsilla! - I'm a Guest Designer at STAMPlorations, again!

Edellisessä postauksessa mainitsemani kortti valittiin "Top Pickiksi" myös STAMPlorationsin tammikuun haasteessa (wohoo! :) ), joten sain kunnian olla guest designer myös tämänkertaisessa kuukausihaasteessa. Aiheena maaliskuulla on "Stamps and Stencil", eli sekä leimoja että sabluunoita pitäisi käyttää. Itse käytin tähän korttiin STAMPlorationsin ihanaa Bold Florals -sabluunaa ja kohokuvioin sillä tuon korttipohjan. Näin se näkyy ja antaa tekstuuria mutta ei vie liikaa huomiota tuolta kukkaselta, joka on STAMPlorationsin Bloom Sketches -setistä ja väritetty Polychromoksilla. Tekstileima on samaisesta setistä. Kiinnitin nuo paneelit kohotarroilla korttipohjaan, jotta sain vähän ekstraintressiä korttiin. Lisäksi kukkasen takana on hieman kultalankaa.

Remember the card I mentioned in my last post? Well, to my utter surprise, it was chosen as one of the 'Top Picks' for STAMPlorations January challenge as well (wohoo! :) ) and, therefore, I now have the huge honour of being a Guest Designer for STAMPlorations March challenge as well (talk about me being lucky!). The theme for March is 'Stamps and Stencil' and this is my card. I used the gorgeous 'Bold Florals' stencil as an embossing folder and ran it with my cardstock through my Cuttlebug to get beautiful texture on the card panel. This way the background also remained subtle enough so that it doesn't steal the limelight from the stamped (and fussy cut..) flower. The flower stamp is from 'Bloom Sketches' set, as is the sentiment, and I coloured the flower with my Polychromos pencils and added some gold thread behind it. I adhered the embossed panels onto my cardbase with foam adhesives for little added interest.
