Edellisessä postauksessa jäi kaivelemaan se, että tein pyöräkortista automaattisesti poikakortin. Tietenkin asiaan saattoi vaikuttaa hieman myös se, että tuo leima on poikien pyörä mutta enpä antanut sen estää... En siis leimannut pyörän tankoa ja tadaa, tyttöpyöräkortti sai alkunsa! ;) Tein kortin muuten periaatteessa samalla kaavalla kuin sen poikapyöräkortinkin mutta nyt vain tyttöjen pyörällä ja pinkkinä, koristeet ovat hieman erilaiset johtuen ihan siitä, että ihan kaikkea ei minultakaan löydy pinkkinä ;) Pyörä on siis Papertrey Inkin Everyday Button Bits -setistä samoin kuin tekstikin, pyörä on embossattu valkoisella, paperit ovat BasicGreyn ja koristeet kaappien kätköistä.
The girly bike is here! :) In the last post I wondered why I automatically made a 'boy card' with a bicycle stamp (the fact that the stamp featured a boys' bike might have something to do with it...) and said that I'd make a girly card with the bike as well, and so I did! I used the same stamp (from the Everyday Button Bits set by Papertrey Ink, the sentiment's from the same set as well) but just didn't ink up the bar (I've no idea if that's what it's called in English but you know what I mean, don't you?). I heat embossed the bike with white powder, used some BasicGrey papers and embellies from my stash, and that was it!
Tässä vielä vino lähikuva noista napeista, ne ovat oikeasti tuollaiset helmiäiset. / Here's a close-up of the buttons, they're actually quite 'pearly' and shiny.

Uusien leimojen myötä löytyy uusia haasteita! :) Löysin A Passion for Papertrey -blogin, jossa tämänkertaisena haasteena on tehdä musiikin innoittama kortti. Käytin tähän korttiin Everyday Button Bits -setin polkupyörää ja tekstiä. Pyörän embossasin mustalla ja renkaiksi laitoin tuollaiset aavistuksen retron tuntuiset napit, jotta ne sopisivat tuohon ruutupaperiin, joka sekin on mielestäni jotenkin retro. Värit valikoituivat poikamaisiksi ja potkinkin siitä itseäni nilkkaan - miksi ajattelen automaattisesti poikakorttia, kun leimana on polkupyörä? Pyöräileväthän tytötkin! Saattaapi siis olla, että samankaltainen kortti syntyy 'tyttöväreissäkin' (tästä voisi tietysti jatkaa pohtimista, onko tyttö- ja poikavärejä mutta se lienee jo vähän asian ulkopuolella.. ;) ). Koristeina on ruuvihaaraniittejä ja pieniä klemmareita. Niin, ja se biisi kortin taustalla? No tietysti Queenin Bicycle Race! :)
New stamps, new challenges! With my newfound Papertrey passion I found a new blog - A Passion for Papertrey! The challenge over at A Passion for Papertrey this time is to make a card inspired by a song. For this card I used the bicycle and the sentiment from the Everyday Button Bits set. I heat embossed the bike in black and added some retro looking buttons as wheels so that they'd go together with the checkered paper which looks a bit retro to me. The colours in this card are a bit boyish and I gave myself a hard time when I realised that I automatically thought of boys when I saw the bicycle stamp - girls ride bikes as well so there's no reason to make only 'boy cards' with bike stamps, is there? I think I'll have to make another card with the same stamp and with a bit more girlish colours... ;) As embellies in this card there are two brads and two tiny paperclips. Oh, and the song that inspired this card? Well, Bicycle Race by Queen of course! :)

PTI:llä 'pingoilua' P*skikseen! :D Ensimmäinen leimasetti, johon Papertrey Inkillä ihastuin, oli Everyday Button Bits. Jaa miksikö? No, tykkään leimoista ja tykkään napeista, joten onko ihanampaa kuin leimasetti, joka yhdistää leimat ja napit?!? No ei ole! :) Tähän korttiin käytin kuumailmapalloja tuosta setistä, tekstikin taisi olla samasta setistä. Paperit ovat BasicGreytä ja musteet Versafinea ja Distress Inkejä. Eipä siinä paljon muuta olekaan sitten. Tämä kortti on siis P*skarteluhaasteeseen #92, josta bingorivini on pyöreä muoto-timantti-3 paperia.
One of the first stamp sets that I fancied from the Papertrey Ink was Everyday Button Bits. Do I hear you ask 'why'? Well, let me tell you that I love stamps (that is shocking, I know... ;) ) and I love buttons so can there be anything better than a stamp set that combines both? Well, no, not in my opinion! :) For this card I used the hot air balloons and the sentiment from that set and some seriously cute buttons. The papers are by BasicGrey and the inks I used are Versafine and Distress Inks and that about sums it up. I submit this card to the Finnish challenge blog P*skarteluhaaste where the challenge #92 is a bingo and my line is 'round shapes-a rhinestone-3 papers'.

Olen jo jonkin aikaa himoinnut Papertrey Inkin leimasimia mutta olen hillinnyt himoni hurjien postikulujen takia. Mutta mutta... Kun kuulin tätini tulevan Suomeen käymään, näin tilaisuuteni tulleen! :) Tilasin siis aimo kasan PTI-kamaa tätini osoitteeseen ja hän kilttinä ihmisenä rahtasi ne minulle :) Näinkin voi postikuluissa säästää! ;) Tämä on siis ensimmäinen PTI-korttini ja ajattelin olla hurja ja liittyä sillä heti samantien Papertrey Inkin blog hopiin, jossa aiheena on kukat. Käytin tässä Beautiful Blooms II -setin leimoja ja stansseja ja Turning a New Leaf -setin leimaa ja stanssia. Tekstileima on Blooming Button Bits -setistä. Muuten käytin tässä vain ihan tavallista kartonkia, Marthan leikkuria ja läpinäkyvää nappia, jonka "pohjaan" liimasin kartonkia, että sain siitä oikean värisen. Sitten vain hieman narua nappiin ja jokunen timantti korttiin.
I have drooled over Papertrey Ink's stamps for ages but so far haven't been able to order anything due to the shipping charges. But when I heard that my Aunt was planning on coming to Finland for a holiday I saw that I had a chance! Ha! I ordered heaps of PTI gear to my Aunt's address and she promised to bring them to me - isn't she lovely? So I saved on shipping charges and got meself plenty of new goodies to play with - hooray! :D So this is my first ever PTI card and I decided to join the PTI May blog hop with it (talk about jumping in feet first...). So to make the card I die cut the biggest flower from felt and the yellow flower from cardstock with Beautiful Blooms II dies and stamped the yellow flower with a stamp from the same set. I glued some cardstock on the "bottom" of a clear plastic button to make it the right colour and tied some twine to it. I die cut and stamped the leaf with a die and a stamp from the Turning a New Leaf set. The sentiment comes from Blooming Button Bits set. I stamped half of the blue cardstock with a tiny flower stamp from the Beautiful Blooms II set and punched some lighter blue cardstock with a Martha Stewart punch and added some ribbon to it. I also added a few rhinestones to the card.

Teen yleensä veljenpojilleni kaksi synttärikorttia, yhden annamme me ja yhden antaa mumma ja paappa. Olen jo aikaisemmin näyttänyt yhdet sekä 8 että 4 vuotta täyttäneille veljenpojilleni menneet kortit, tässä ovat loput kaksi. Ensimmäisessä skeittailee The Greeting Farmin Skater Ian ProMarkereilla väritettynä. Taustan tein Kim Dellow'n ohjeen mukaan, tosin jätin joitain noita paperin reunoja hieman irralleen saadakseni vähän rähjäistä poikameininkiä korttiin. Taustaan lisäsin paria Distress Inkiä ja kietaisin nauhaa ympärille. Numeron leikkasin kartongista ja lisäsin päälle yhden kerroksen UTEE:ta, siitä jäi tuollainen kiva märän/pisaraisen näköinen pinta. Lopuksi vielä hakaneula Ianin pipaan ja teksti Merjan ja Pammun setistä olevalla leimalla.
I usually make two cards for each of my nephews' birthday, one for us to give and one for their Grandma and Grandpa to give. I've already earlier shown you two cards for my nephews, one for the 8-year-old and one for the 4-year-old, here come the last two for them. On this first card there's Skater Ian from The Greeting Farm coloured with ProMarkers. I made the background with Kim Dellow's tutorial, I just left some of the paper edges free to give the card a bit raggedy boy feeling, and added some Distress Inks to it. I cut the number from cardstock and covered with one layer of clear UTEE to give it a nice wet look. As embellies there are some baker's twine and a safety-pin on Ian's hat. The sentiment says 'Congrats'.
Tämä toinen kortti on melko simppeli (taas kerran..). Taustana on Hero Artsin hauska ristikkoleima, jota hieman täytin asiaankuuluvilla sanoilla. Leimakuva on Whiff of Joy Henry Celebrating Mouse Distresseillä väritettynä ja Spellbindersilla stanssattuna. Koristeena tähtiklemmari ja paperitähti.
The second card is quite simple (once again..). I stamped the background with Hero Arts Crossword Background and filled the crossword with some words (my nephew's name, age, and the word 'congrats'). The stamped image is Whiff of Joy's Henry Celebrating Mouse, I coloured him with Distress Inks and die cut with a Spellbinders die. As embellies there are stars, a paperclip star and a paper star.

Tein tilauksesta onnittelukortin miehelle ja tästä sukeutuikin varsin mieluinen itsellenikin, ei ehkä vähiten leimasinten takia... ;) Korttipohjassa käytin Hero Artsin Envelope Patterns -leimaa (leikkasin korttipohjaa aavistuksen pienemmäksi, että sain leiman peittämään koko pohjan) ja tuo saniaisleima on Hero Artsin Three Ferns. Saniainen on leimattu akvarellipaperille, joten paperin 'röpeliäisyyden' ansiosta leimakuvasta tuli eläväpintainen. Tekstileima on Merjan ja Pammun setistä ja tuo akvarellipaperi on stanssattu Spellbindersin Labels Twolla. Muuta korttiin ei sitten tullutkaan mutta ei minun mielestäni tarvitsekaan, miesten kortteihin sopii tällainen todella simppeli linja. Koko kortti on muuten leimattu yhdellä värillä (DI Crushed Olive), joka sekin toi kivaa rauhallisuutta korttiin.
I was asked to make a birthday card for a man and as it turned out, the card became quite a favourite of mine largely due to the stamps used. I stamped the card blank with Hero Arts Envelope Patterns stamp (I had to cut the card slightly smaller so that the stamp would cover the entire area) and the focal point is also a Hero Arts stamp called Three Ferns. I stamped it on aquarelle paper which gave the image a nice unevenness. I die cut the aquarelle paper with a Spellbinders Labels Two die and didn't add any embellishments as I thought the card didn't need any, simple did it once again ;) The sentiments means 'congrats'. Oh, and the whole card is stamped with one single colour (DI Crushed Olive).

Tuli tehtyä uusi aluevaltaus... Sain Kissinialta todella kauniin ATC:n (katsopa tuolta # 5), joten täytyihän minun tehdä vastalahjaksi myös ATC. Olen aikaisemminkin ajatellut koittaa näiden tekoa mutta en ole koskaan kuitenkaan päässyt sinne asti (tai no, olen aina jämähtänyt ajatukseen, että nämä ovat artist trading cardeja enkä minä koe itseäni erityisemmin taiteilijaksi...). Mutta jälleen kerran härkää sarvista ja kortteja vääntämään! Ohjeita en etsinyt sen kummemmin, vain tuon kortin koon, joka siis on 64 mm x 89 mm. Saattaa siis olla, että rikon useampaakin taiteilijasääntöä mutta siitä viis! ;D
I broke some boundaries... I received a gorgeous ATC from Kissinia (please see here, mine's #5), so I wanted to make one for her. I've thought about making ATCs before but never got round to it (well, to tell the truth, I've always frozen at the idea that they're supposed to be artist trading cards and I don't really see myself as an artist...). So now I broke some boundaries inside my head (always a good thing to do! ;) ) and made my first ATCs! I don't know if there are some ATC rules apart from the size (which is 64 mm x 89 mm) so if I'm breaking some artist rules... well, then I am! ;D
