Hyvää isänpäivää! - Happy Father's Day!

Olemme Maailman Suloisimman Pienen Pojan kanssa taiteilleet jos jonkinmoista isänpäiväksi. Molemmille paapoille tuunasimme kangaskassit. Minä tulostin koneelta tekstin '"XX:n" paapan kassi' (kyllä, lapsemme nimi on hieman harvinaisempi XX.... ;D ) ja kirjoitin sen kangastusseilla läpi kassin toiselle puolelle - pitäähän sitä nyt kylillä tietää, kenen paappa se siinä kulkee! :) Toiselle puolelle poika taiteili kangastusseilla varsin upean piirrustuksen (yhtään ylpeilemättä voin sanoa, että näen tässä mitä suurinta taiteellista lahjakkuutta - seuraava Picasso tulee täältä!! :) ).

It is Father's Day in Finland today and the Cutest Little Boy in the World and I made all kinds of crafty things for Father's Day. For both Grandads' we decorated (shopping) bags. I printed out text 'XX's Grandad's bag' ('XX' of course replaces here our son's name which I'm not comfortable mentioning online - yes, I'm overprotective! ;) ) on the computer and then outlined it with fabric markers on one side of the bag. This way everyone knows whose Grandad it is who is carrying the bag! :) On the other side our son made some fabulous drawings with the same markers (I'm not being overly proud mother at all when I say that I see some serious talent in his drawing - watch out, the next Picasso is here! ;) ).

Paapoille poika taiteili tällaiset kortit. Kortin teon hän aloitti ensin piirtämällä (siinä on mm. kaivinkone :) ), sitten hän itse halusi lisätä maalarinteipin paloja korttiin. Siitä muistin, että minullahan on Teippitarhan autoteippiäkin, leikoin siitä sitten paloja, jotka poika myös liimasi korttiin.

The Cutest Little Boy in the World also made cards for both Grandads. He started making the cards by drawing on them (can you spot the digger he drew? :) ) and then he wanted to add some basic masking tape on it. This reminded me that I had this cute car tape from Teippitarha - I helped him by cutting pieces from it and he taped them on the cards.

Isälle teimme kortin seurakunnan perhekahvilassa. Minä leikkasin sydämen ja poika liimasi koristeet paikoilleen. Hän myös korosti norsua hienosti kevyellä lyijykynävärityksellä :)

We made a card for Dad over at the church's family cafe. I cut out the heart and he placed the embellishments on it. Note the delicate pencil shading on the elephant :)

Koska iskä on kunkku, teimme iskälle kunkun MLL:n perhekahvilassa. Maailman Suloisin Pieni Poika maalasi kuninkaan kruunun ja paidan sormiväreillä ja piirsi naamankin värikynillä. Upea kunkku, vai mitä? :)
Lahjankin isälle teimme, mutta koska siinä näkyy pojan nimi, en laita siitä kuvaa tänne, mutta kerron, että koristelimme T-paidan samalla tyylillä kuin paappojen kassit ja siitä tuli hiano! :)

Because Dad's our hero, we made him a king for Father's Day over at the family cafe hosted by Mannerheim League for Child Welfare. The Cutest Little Boy in the World painted the king's crown and shirt with finger paints and drew his face with some pens. Our king turned out quite dashing, don't you think? :) We, of course, made a gift for Dad, too, we decorated a T-shirt with the same method as we did Grandads' bags, but as the T-shirt shows his name, I won't publish a photo of it here.

Punainen enkeli - A red angel

Mihin ihmeeseen aika katoaa?! Ajattelin juuri itsekseni, että eipä siitä taida pitkä olla, kun viimeksi postasin... Juu ei, pari viikkoa vain! En ole tämän parin viikon aikana paljon koneella ollut, joten anteeksi teille kaikille ihanille, jotka käytte kommentoimassa blogissani mutta joiden blogeissa en ole nyt hetkeen vieraillut. Lupaan parantaa tapani! :) Mutta nyt näytille varsin punasävyinen enkelikortti. Korttipohja on ihan tavallinen C6, jonka etukannen olen taittanut 'puoliksi'. Enkelileima on Inkadinkadon Silhouette Angel, embossasin sen punaisella ja sudin reunoille punaista mustetta. Koristeiksi hieman kakkupaperia, lumihiutale, nappi ja tiuku. Tekstileima on FinnStamperin ja paperit Echo Parkin.

Where does the time go?! I was just thinking that it was "just yesterday" that I posted the last time... That "yesterday" was actually two weeks ago!! I haven't really spent any time around blogland during the last two weeks so my apologies to all you who come by my blog and leave such nice comments and whose blogs I haven't visited lately. I promise I will mend my ways! :) But I thought I'd show you an angel card today. The card blank is really just a basic card blank, I just folded the front in two. The angel stamp is by Inkadinkado and called Silhouette Angel, I heat embossed it with red embossing powder and applied some red ink on the edges. As embellies there are a bit of everything: a piece of doily, a button, a snowflake and a little bell. The sentiment says 'Christmas greetings'. The paper's by Echo Park.

 

Sisällä on siis tuota samaa Echo Parkin paperia ja reunoista mustetettu kartonginpala, johon voi kirjoittaa tervehdyksen.

On the inside there's the Echo Park paper and some white cardstock with inked edges whereyou can write your  greeting.

Tähti - A star

Tämä tähtileimasin tuli Craft Stamperin kylkiäisenä tuossa joku aika sitten ja mielestäni se on niin kaunis, että halusin tehdä suhteellisen yksinkertaisen kortin, ettei turha "roina" veisi huomiota siltä. Leimasin ja embossasin kirkkaalla jauheella tähden Graphic45:n paperille ja leikkasin irti. Liimasin sen sitten aaltopahvin palalle, jota olin ensin hieman sutinut Distress Inkillä ja jonka ympäri olin laittanut Scrapper's Spools -narua. Taustaksi taas distressinkattua Graphic45:n paperia (tämä Christmas Past -paperikko, josta nämä paperit ovat, on ehkä paras joulupaperikko, joka minulla on ollut - tai ainakin se on selvästi käytetyin!). Tekstileima on Stempelkellerin.

This lovely star stamp came with a recent issue of Craft Stamper and I just love it, it's so simple and beautiful. That's why I wanted to make as simple a card as possible, this way no "junk" would take the attention that the star deserves. I just stamped and heat embossed the star with clear powder on some Graphic45 paper, cut it out and attached it to a piece of corrugated cardboard. I had inked the corrugated cardboard with some Distress Ink and put some Scrapper's Spool string around it. In the background I placed some Graphic45 paper (I simply love these papers from the Christmas Past Collection! I think I've never used any other paper collection as much as I've used this one) which I inked with some Distress Ink. The sentiment says 'Christmas peace'.

Tepasteleva pukki - The jolly Santa

Taas pukkaa joulukorttia ja "yllättäen" taas DoodleFactoryn joulupukin kera. Tuo pukki on jotenkin niin reipas ja iloinen :) Pukin värittelin taas ProMarkereilla, paitsi kaikki valkoiset osat kirkkaalla Kuretaken Wink of Stella -kimallekynällä, ja kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. Lippunauhan tein washi-teipistä ja puuvillanarusta ja kiinnitin sen parilla haaraniitillä. Lisäksi tein washi-teipistä 'maan', jolla pukki tepastelee (mun mielestä tuo pukki ei kävele vaan nimenomaan tepastelee ;D ). Taustaksi hieman iäisyyden kaappien kätköissä pyörinyttä kuviopaperia ja valkoista Bazzillia ja toivotus FinnStamperin leimalla ja - nyt ne kuuluisat sanat... - siinä se! ;)

Well, whaddaya know - it's another Christmas card and, surprise surprise, with the DoodleFactory's Santa. I just love this santa, he looks so jolly :) I coloured the Santa with ProMarkers and attached him with foam pads. I made the little bunting with some washi tape and some cotton string and added a couple of brads to hold it down. I also used some stripey washi tape for the ground that the Santa prances on. Then there's just some age-old patterned paper that I've never really gotten around to use and some white Bazzill cardstock, and a sentiment that says 'Happy Christmas'.

Chester ja hyviä uutisia - Chester and some good news

Taas tarvittiin poikakorttia, kun miehen veljenpoika täytti 12 vee. Näitä poikien synttärikortteja tarvitaan niin monta vuodessa, että välillä tuntuu, että alkaa ideat loppua... ;) Tämä kortti lähti oikeastaan siitä, että halusin kokeilla ihanan SannaS:n minulle tussitestailuun lähettämää 4cc-kartonkia (kiitos, ihana!!! :) ). Leimakuvaksi valikoitui tyylikäs Chester ja täytyy sanoa, että tuo 4cc menee kyllä ostoslistalle, sen verran hyvä siihen oli ProMarkereilla värittää. Chesterin taustalla olevan Tim Holtzin bingo-kortin leimasin siniselle paperille ja ympyröin siitä tuon numeron 12. Koristeeksi ruusuke ja washi-teippiä. Paperit on BasicGreytä ja onnea-teksti Merjan ja Pammun setistä.

My hubby's nephew turned 12 and again we needed a 'boy card'. The demand for cards for boys is quite big in our family (hubby has four nephews and I have four nephews) so sometimes I feel like I'm all out of ideas for boys... This card came together out of my wanting to try out some new cardstock that the lovely SannaS sent me. The cardstock is really smooth and therefore good for markers, as I found out when I coloured Chester with my ProMarkers. I stamped a Tim Holtz bingo stamp on light blue paper and circled the number 12. As embellies there's a rosette and some lovely washi tape. The papers are by BasicGrey and the sentiment says 'congrats'.

Niin, ja missäkö sitä washi-teippiä on? No ruusukkeessa tietenkin! Stanssasin tuon ruusukkeen vaaleansinisestä paperista ja laitoin siihen kapeaa tummanruskeaa ja beigeä washi-teippiä koristeeksi ja hieman myös vahvistamaan ruusuketta. Päälle vielä sininen nappi.

Where's the washi tape, I hear you ask? Look at the rosette more closely - it's there! I added some narrow washi tapes (dark brown and beige) on the rosette that I die cut out of light blue paper, both to decorate the rosette and to make it a bit stronger and easier to fold. Then I just added the blue button as centre.

Edellisessä postauksessa kerroin päiväni olleen hyvä. No, se päivä parani vielä enemmän, kun sain sähköpostia Teippitarhan Janinalta. Hän oli nähnyt postaukseni ja kiitokseksi Teippitarhan mainitsemisesta ja heidän teippiensä käyttämisestä Janina halusi antaa minulle ilmaisen teippirullan! Ihanaa yllättävää ystävällisyyttä!! (Kiitos, Janina, vielä tätäkin kautta! :) ). Lisäksi hän kutsui minut kylään Teippitarhan blogiin!! Wohoo!! Tämä on ensimmäinen kerta, kun olen "esillä" missään - mukavaa, että se tapahtuu Teippitarhassa! :) Kiitos kutsusta ja mieluustihan minä kortteineni kylään tulen (vaikka hieman jänskättääkin...). Mutta, vielä parempia uutisia seuraa: nyt nimittäin on mahdollista tilata Teippitarhan teippejä ILMAN POSTIKULUJA! Hurjastele tänne katsomaan, miten se on mahdollista!

In my previous post I said that I had a good day. Well, that day just got better when I received an email from Janina @ Teippitarha shop. She had seen my post and as a thank you for using their products and mentioning them she wanted to give me a roll of washi tape for free! Wasn't that kind! And, what's more, she asked me to come over and visit their blog with my cards! Wohoo! I'm so happy, I've never been asked to do that before! Happy AND nervous.... Oh, and if you live in Europe and want to order some gorgeous washi tapes, happy news for you: Teippitarha delivers to Europe as well!

Washi-teippiä ja hyvä päivä - Washi tape and a good day

Mulla on uusi ihastus! :) Washi-teipit! :) Löysin tieni Teippitarhaan ja ostin itselleni pari rullaa teippejä - nii-in, mulla on uskomaton mielenlujuus, sain rajoitettua ostokseni pariin rullaan... Järkyttynyt olen tästä minäkin! ;) Ajattelin koittaa tehdä mahdollisimman simppelin kortin, joissa pääosassa olisi washi-teippi ja tällainen siitä tuli. Sekä korttipohjan että tuon neliön reunat on kantattu teipillä, neliö kohotettu tarrapaloilla ja siihen liimasin stanssatun tähden. Lisäksi tekstileimaa Merjan ja Pammun setistä ja siinä se, taas kerran. Osallistun tällä seuraaviin haasteisiin:

I am smitten! On masking tapes/washi tapes (whichever term you want to use)! :) I went on a shopping spree in Teippitarha and, lo and behold, I was able to restrain myself - I only bought a couple of rolls of tape! I know, I'm shocked myself... ;D So, with my new loves at hand, I thought I'd make a really simple Christmas card. I applied the tape on the edges of the cardblank and on the square in the middle, glued a die cut bauble on the square (which, by the way, is raised with foam pads) and stamped the sentiment ('Christmas joy'). That was it, simples! Again! ;) I'll submit this card to the following challenges:

Tänään oli iloinen postipäivä. Voitin joku aika sitten Paolo Coelhon uusimman kirjan 'Alef' Coelhon nimikirjoituksella varustettuna (!) ja tänään se tuli postissa. Minä ainakin tiedän, mitä tulevina vapaahetkinä teen... ;) Tänään on hyvä päivä! :)

I received some great post today. Some time ago I won Paolo Coelho's latest novel 'Aleph' and today it came in the post. And what makes this copy even more special is the fact that it is signed by Paolo Coelho himself!! I'm so happy, this is a good day! :)
