Poika! - It's a boy!

Viime viikolla se sitten tapahtui, perheestämme tuli nelihenkinen, kun ihanaakin ihanampi pieni poikamme syntyi. Poika on terve, suloinen ja ihmeellistäkin ihmeellisempi - vanhempiensa silmäterä ja isoveljensä ylpeyden aihe! :)

Sattuneista syistä postaustahti blogissa hiljenee mutta ei lopu kokonaan, joten palaan asiaan askartelujen osalta heti, kun aika ja kaksi pientä poikaa antavat myöden.

Last week it happened, our little family grew with one gorgeous little baby. The newest addition to our family is a healthy, beautiful, amazing little boy - the joy of his parents and the pride of his elder brother! :)

Because of all this, I will be concentrating on other things than blogging for now but I will get back to crafting and blogging when I can, time and two little boys permitting.

ATC: A Fool's Crown

ATC-kortilla jatketaan taas. Tästä tuli suhteellisen simppeli (mikä yllätys... ;) ) eli askartelullista taidonnäytettä tästä saa hakemalla hakea mutta kiva tätä oli silti tehdä :) Käytin tähän sitä ihanaa taustaleimaa (Impression Obsession: Scratches), Art Journeyn ja Lynne Perrellan leimoja, Distress Stainia ja washiteippejä. Siinäpä tuo!

Another ATC for you to see. This is no shining example of my crafty abilities, it's just a simple ATC with very few elements (but I kinda like it anyway :) ). For this, I used my lovely new background stamp (Impression Obsession: Scratches), stamps by Art Journey and Lynne Perrella, some Distress Stain and some washi tapes. And that's about it!

ATC x 3

Tein vaihteen vuoksi muutaman ATC-kortin. Kaikissa näissä käytin Dylusions ink spraytä pohjan tekoon, lisäksi jokaisen pohjaan leimasin uudella ihastuksellani, Impression Obsessionin Scratches-taustaleimalla. Lisäksi jokaisessa käytin mm. Hero Artsin leimoja ja washiteippejä.

Just for the fun of it, I made a few ATCs. For the background in each one I used some Dylusions ink sprays and my favourite new background stamp, 'Scratches' by Impression Obsession.  I also used some Hero Arts stamps and some washi tape, among other things, on each one.

Simon Says Stamp Challengessa on menossa haaste käyttää washiteippiä, joten osallistun alla olevalla ATC:lla siihen.

The current challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Challenge is to use washi tape so I'll submit the ATC below for that challenge.

Osallistunpa nyt vielä toistamiseen A Blog Named Heron haasteeseen 'Golden Oldie' alla olevalla ATC:lla. Siinä vanhaa on tuo neliörivileima (Hero Arts: 'Three Solids') ja kukkaleima (Hero Arts: 'Wild Brush').

I'll take part in the current challenge over at A Blog Named Hero for the second time, this time with the ATC below. The theme was 'Golden Oldie' and my old stamps in the ATC include the row of squares (Hero Arts: 'Three Solids') and the flower stamp (Hero Arts: 'Wild Brush').

Vanhassa vara parempi - Golden oldie

Mikä voisi olla parempaa kuin vanhat Hero Arts -leimat? No, uudet tietysti ja kaikki muutkin siltä väliltä mutta tällä kertaa käytössä on ne vanhat Herot. A Blog Named Heron haasteessa on tällä kertaa aiheena 'Golden Oldie' eli vanhalla (Heron) leimalla toivotaan tehtäväksi jotain uutta. No, minäpä tein kortin ihanimmilla Heron leimoilla, joita minulla on :) Ensin leimasin tuon suorakaiteen ns. shadow stampilla ('Long Shadow') ja Hero Artsin Shadow Inkillä. Sitten leimasin päälle Heron ihanan unikon ('A Real Poppy') Distress Inkeillä. Sitten vain leikkasin ja liimasin kartonkeja toistensa päälle ja lopulta koko juttu tarrapaloilla kiinni korttipohjaan, jonka olin kuvioinut Papertrey Inkin kuviointilevyllä. Koristeena vain muutama timantti.

What could be better than vintage Hero Arts stamps? Well, the new ones, of course, and all the others in between but this time I'm using the old Hero Arts stamps. The current challenge over at A Blog Named Hero asks us to use our 'Golden Oldies', i.e. to use our old (Hero Arts) stamps and make something new with them. Well, I made this card with my old favourite Hero Arts stamps. First I stamped the rectangular shadow with a shadow stamp ('Long Shadow') and Hero Arts Shadow Ink ('Soft Sand'). Then I stamped the gorgeous Hero Arts poppy ('A Real Poppy') on top of the rectangular shadow with Distress Inks. Then I just cut and matted the cardstocks on top of each other and attached them on the card blank with some foam pads. I had embossed the card blank with a Papertrey Ink impression plate. As embellies I used only a few rhinestones.

Tammikuun alussa suvussa juhlittiin 5-kymppisiä ja tein tällaisen kortin päivänsankarittarelle. Kortti on 2-osainen (vaikka se ei kuvasta näykään) ja stanssasin sen 'kannen' reunan uudella Tim Holtz -stanssillani (Butterflight). Bazzillin ruusupaperin taakse laitoin hieman vaaleamman viininpunaista kartonkia kuin itse korttipohja oli ja samoista kartongeista stanssasin Papertrey Inkin stansseilla (Mat Stack 4) palat, joista päällimmäisen leimasin Hero Artsin taustaleimalla (Flourish Background) ja Versamarkilla. Huoparuusun stanssasin Sizzixin stanssilla ja pyörittelin kokoon ja lehti taas on stanssattu Papertrey Inkin lehtistanssilla (setistä Turning a New Leaf). Lisäksi hieman helmiä metallinarussa ja ruusun keskustassa ja numerot ääriviivatarroilla.

We had a 50th birthday party to go to earlier this month and this is the card I made for the birthday girl. The card is a 2-fold although you can't see it in the piccie, and I die cut the edge of the front of the card with my new Tim Holtz die (Butterflight). I attached the rose paper by Bazzill to a lighter coloured cardstock than the card blank and then I die cut pieces from the same cardstocks with Papertrey Ink dies (Mat Stack 4) and stamped one of them with a Hero Arts stamp Flourish Background and Versamark ink. I made the felt rose with a Sizzix die and die cut the leaves with a Papertrey Ink die (from the Turning a New Leaf set). As further embellies there are some pearls on a metal wire and as the center of the rose, and number stickers.

I Never Dare

Yleisön pyynnöstä ;) lisää journal-sivuja (tosin sitä mukaa, kun näitä laitan, vähenee lukijat tuosta oikean puolen laatikosta... Hmm...). Tuossa syksyn puolella sain postissa paksun kirjekuoren Englannista ja mietin jo kuumeisesti, mitä ihmettä olin tilannut ja unohtanut tilanneeni. No, homma selvisi, kun avasin kuoren: se oli arvontavoitto Craft Stamper -lehdestä, 8 settiä uusia Lynne Perrella -leimasimia! :) En ole ehtinyt niitä käyttää tätä ennen, mutta nyt tässä nuo tytsyt on yksi niistä uusista leimasimista. Muuten tässä sivussa on taas vähän sitä sun tätä: kuviopaperisuikaleita, paloja lehden ja kirjan sivuista, gessoa, washiteippiä, sabluunaa ja Distress Inkiä, Distress Stainia, leimasimia jne. Ja lopputulos on taas tällainen :)

Another page from my art journal. It seems that when I post these pages here, I lose a follower or two but I think I'll post them anyway... ;) Last autumn I received a big fat envelope from the UK in the post. Naturally, I thought what on earth had I ordered now and from where and how come I had forgotten about it. Well, when I opened the envelope it turned out that it was a giveaway prize from the Craft Stamper magazine: 8 sets of new Lynne Perrella rubber stamps! Wohoo! I haven't had the chance to use them until now, here the row of the ladies is one of the new stamps. Otherwise this page has a bit of this and a bit of that again: scraps of patterned paper, pieces of magazine and book pages, some gesso, some washi tape, a stencil used with some Distress Ink, some Distress Stain, rubber stamps, etc. And the outcome is as follows :)

Silly Nelly

Vaihteeksi hieman art journalia... Tähän sivuun on mennyt kaikenlaista: revitty pala kirjansivua, gessoa, akryylimaaleja, modeling pastea sabluunan läpi, washiteippiä, maalarinteippiä, leimakuva (Zettiologyn ihana kissa), Prismacolor-kynää jne, jne, ja kokonaisuus on... no, tällainen :)

A page from my art journal... For this page I used a bit of everything: a torn page of a book, some gesso, some acrylic paint, some modeling paste applied thru a stencil, some washi tape, some ordinary masking tape, a stamped image (the lovely cat face by Zettiology), some Prismacolor pencils etc., etc., and the end result is... well, see for yourself :)
