Ympyrää - A masked circle

Taas hieman maskattua korttia näytille. Stanssasin tätä varten paperiin ympyrän, jonka läpi levitin Distress Inkejä korttipohjaan. Päälle leimasin Artemion tekstitaustaleimasimella ja sitten vielä Hero Artsin Silhouette Spray -leimalla. Sitten yksi timantti ja muutama vesipisko päälle ja kortti oli valmis.

I'm back to masking again and this time I masked a circle to a card base. I die cut a circle to a piece of scrap paper and applied some Distress Inks through it. Then I stamped the text background (by Artemio) and the Silhouette Spray stamp (by Hero Arts) to the masked circle and glued a rhinestone to decorate the stamped image. Finally I just dropped a few drops of water to the inky circle and that was it.

Destiny

SODAliciouksen art journal -haasteen #23 aiheena on 'destiny', alla minun tulkintani siitä. Tämän aukeaman tekeminen vaati verta, hikeä ja kyyneleitä - tai no, ei ehkä hikeä eikä kyyneleitä mutta verta sitäkin enemmän! Ensin tuikkasin itseäni saksilla sormeen ja sitten viilsin toiseen sormeen muovisella sabluunalla. Ihme, että sivulle ei verta päätynyt... Sivulle päätyi kuitenkin Dylusions-suihkeita, akryylimaalia, sabluunoita (sekä SODAliciouksen että Crafter's Workshopin), washiteippiä, Neocoloreita ja leimakuvia (Suzi Blu/Unity, Prima Marketing, Paperbag Studios). Mikäli käsialastani ei saa selvää ;) niin journaling sanoo 'I'm taking my ride with destiny, willing to play my part'. Kyseessä ei tosin ole minun aivoitukseni vaan sanoitusta eräästä biisistä.

The theme of SODAlicious' art journal challenge #23 is 'destiny' and this is my interpretation of it. The making of this spread took blood, sweat and tears - well, maybe not sweat or tears but blood, and lots of it! First I stabbed myself in the finger with my scissors and then I cut another finger with a plastic stencil. Ouch! It's a surprise there's no blood on the page itself... However, on the page there are some spray inks by Dylusions, some acrylic paint, stencils (both SODAlicious and The Crafter's Workshop), washi tape, Neocolor crayons and stamped images (Suzi Blu/Unity, Prima Marketing, Paperbag Studios). If you can't read my handwriting ;) the journaling says 'I'm taking my ride with destiny, willing to play my part' and no, they're not my wise words, they're lyrics from a song.

Maskattuja kukkia - Masked Flowers

Hiukan nyt heilutaan laidasta toiseen - edellisessä kortissa ei muuta ollutkaan kuin kuviopaperia ja tämä kortti taas ei ole niitä nähnytkään! :) Maskasin nuo Hero Artsin kukat (Large Flower ja Small Striped Flower) kortin kanteen, väritin Prismoilla ja leimasin FinnStamperin tekstin. Lisäksi muutama timantti. Ja siinäpä se, taas kerran.

I've got a one-layer card to show you today. I think those flowers by Hero Arts ('Large Flower' and 'Small Striped Flower') are so gorgeous that they don't need much else to company them in a card. Therefore, I simply masked them on my card base, coloured with Prismacolour pencils and stamped the greeting ('congrats'). I added a few rhinestones as embellies. And there you have it, a one-layer card.

Yhdistelyä - Combining

Tässä kortissa ei paljoa muuta ole kuin paperia :D Testailin erikokoisten kuvioiden yhdistämistä toisiinsa ja lopputulos on alla. Paperit on October Afternoonia, tekstileima FinnStamperin. Koristeena on nappi, joka oikeasti on aika ihana vanha nappi, vaikka se ei kuvassa oikeuksiinsa pääsekään.

Patterned papers - that's pretty much all there is to this card :D I tried my hand at combining different sizes of patterns together and the result you can see in the piccie. The papers are by October Afternoon, the sentiment says 'many congrats'. The only embellishment is the button which in real life is a gorgeous, red vintage button but I'm afraid it doesn't show that well in the photo.

Kuvioita, kuvioita - Patterns, patterns

Ehdin nyt viikonlopun aikana tehdä pari korttia Pattern Play -kurssille. Tähän ensimmäiseen yhdistelin kuviopapereita ensimmäisen päivän oppien mukaan. Paperit ovat October Afternoonin ja kukat ja lehti stanssattu Papertrey Inkin stansseilla huovasta.

I had a little time to craft this weekend and made a couple of cards for the Pattern Play course. This first card combines patterned papers according to the lessons on day 1. The papers are by October Afternoon and the flowers and the leaf are die cut with Papertrey Ink dies from felt.

Toiseen korttiin koitin yhdistellä parin eri päivän oppeja. Käsittelin tuota ruskeaa paperia ressaamalla siihen tuon ruudukon, "rauhoitin" kuvioitua paperia vellumilla (isoin perhonen), käytin pieniä määriä todella kuviollisia papereita noissa perhosissa ja koitinpa vielä huomioida paperien kuviot stanssauksessa keskittämällä ne.

I tried to combine a few different lessons on  the second card. I manipulated the brown paper and distressed the white lines on it, I toned down patterned paper with vellum (the biggest butterfly), used patterned papers in small quantities and took into consideration their patterns when die cutting.

Kuvioperhonen - Patterned butterfly

Olen kovin tykästynyt tuohon aikaisemmin mainitsemaani Pattern Play -kurssiin. Kurssin ideat ovat loistavia ja mallikortit upeita, vielä kun olisi itsellä aikaa kortteilla niin paljon, kuin haluaisi, niin ei paremmasta väliä. Jotain olen kuitenkin ehtinyt väkertää ja tässä näytille väkerryksen tulosta. Eli ideana on käyttää "vaikeasti käytettävää kuviopaperia" (eli sellaista, jonka kuvio on syystä tai toisesta haastava/hurja/silmille hyppäävä) mutta vain vähän, koko korttia ei siis tarvitse paperiin peittää. Tällä idealla stanssasin kartonkiin Papertrey Inkin perhosen, kiinnitin taakse kuviopaperia ja kiinnitin korttipohjaan. Poimin kuviopaperista muutaman yksityiskohdan kortin koristeiksi: punaiset helmet ja raidallisen washiteipin. Lopuksi teksti FinnStamperin leimalla.

I'm really loving the Pattern Play card class that I mentioned earlier. The ideas shared there are brilliant and the card samples gorgeous - I'm so inspired to craft but am a little pushed for time. I have managed to create something though and the result you can see below. The idea here is to use a 'hard to use' paper (i.e. a patterned paper whose pattern is somehow overpowering and thus difficult to use) and just use a tiny bit of it. So here I die cut a butterfly with a Papertrey Ink die, attached some patterned paper behind the diecut negative and attached to a card base. Then I picked some details of the patterned paper and tried to use them as my starting point for embellishments: red pearls and striped washi tape. The sentiment says 'to a friend'.

Golffari - Golfer

Johan on, jo toinen postaus samalle päivälle! :) "Mies"-kortti tämäkin ja sopiva golffarille. Leimakuva on Papermanian ja väritetty Distress Markereilla. Paperit on Authentiquen, embossasin tuon vihreän paperin Papertrey Inkin impression platella - nyt kuvio täsmää tuon kuviopaperin ja golffarin sukkien kanssa. Tekstin leimasin Artemion aakkosilla, tosin huutomerkkiä ei setissä ollut, joten leimasin pikku-i:n väärinpäin, josko se menee huutomerkistä ;)

Well whaddaya know, it's my second post for today! :) Another male card and suitable for a golfer. The stamp I used is by Papermania, I coloured the image with Distress Markers. The papers are by Authentique, I ran the green paper through my Cuttlebug with a Papertrey Ink impression plate and now the pattern on it matches with the pattern on the paper next to it and on the golfer's socks. I stamped the text with alphabet stamps by Artemio, the set didn't include an exclamation mark so I used an 'i' upside down.
