Teinari - Teen

Taas on aika tehdä synttärikortteja veljenpojille :) Pojista vanhin astuu nyt teini-iän puolelle, joten tein hänelle astetta räyhäkämmän kortin - jotenkin tämä Stampotiquen leimakuva sopii teini-ikäiselle... Leimakuvan nimi on 'Are My Pants Too Tight' ja maskasin sen Penny Blackin tiiliseinäleiman kanssa. Teinarin väritin Inktense-kynillä ja tiiliseinän Gelatoksilla. Teksti on stanssattu Memory Boxin stanssilla, lisänä kortissa on vain muutama musta Enamel Accents -tippa.

One of my nephews turns 13 and I made him this card for his birthday. As he becomes a teenager, I thought this Stampotique fella is more than suitable for his card :D The stamp is called 'Are My Pants Too Tight' and I masked it with the background stamp by Penny Black ('Brick Wall'). I coloured the fella with Derwent Inktense pencils and the brick wall with some Gelatos. The sentiment (it says 'Congrats teen!' in Finnish) is written with die cut alphabets (Memory Box). There are also a few drops of black Enamel Accents on the wall.

Tyttövauvalle - For a baby girl

Oliko ikävä?! :D Vai huomasitkokaan, että blogini vietti hiljaiseloa? No niin tai näin, täällä ollaan taas. Hiljaiselolle ei ole mitään järisyttävää syytä, kunhan kadotin mojoni totaalisesti, sitä sun tätä sattui ja muut asiat kiinnostivat askartelua enemmän (järkyttävää, eikö? ;) ), mutta nyt taas on innostus hieman palannut, kortteja on syntynyt muutama ja josko niitä saisi nyt tänne blogiinkin asti. Tässä näytille yksi hiljaiselon aikana syntyneistä korteista. Minua pyydettiin tekemään ristiäiskortti tyttövauvalle ja tällainen siitä tuli. Leimakuva on Pysselpassionin 'Agnes döps' Distress Markereilla ja kimalletussilla väritettynä, tekstileima on FinnStamperin . Paperi on Bazzillin ja koristeina hieman pikkuruusuja ja Memory Boxin stanssilla stanssattu oksa. Simppeli kortti mutta toivottavasti oli sekä tilaajalle että saajalle mieluinen.

Did you miss me?! :D Or did you notice at all that I wasn't around? Well, either way, here I am again. There were a few reasons for my silence - I lost my mojo completely (and I mean completely!), there was a bit of life happening, and I simply found other things more exciting than crafting (shocking, I know! ;) ) but now, I'm slowly finding my way back to my craft table and getting hold of my mojo again so who knows, you might just see me around a bit more. Here's one card I made during my absence. I was asked to make a card for a baby girl's christening and this is what I came up with. I used this adorable stamp 'Agnes döps' by Pysselpassion and coloured it with Distress Markers and some clear glitter brush pen. The sentiment says 'For a baby girl' and it is stamped on a strip of vellum. The patterned paper is by Bazzill and as embellishments, there are some tiny roses and a die cut (Memory Box). So, it turned out quite simple (as usual) but I hope the recipient liked it.

Ystävälle - For Friend

Se taitaapi taas olla viikoittaisen postauksen aika... Kovin on käynyt laiskanpulskeaksi tämä tahti mutta parempi tämäkin ehkä kuin ei mitään, toivottavasti ainakin ;) Tällä kertaa vuorossa on tällainen simppeli kortti ystävälle. Käytin siihen Papermanian tekstuuripintaisia kartonkeja, Papertrey Inkin leimoja (sekoitin leimoja seteistä Blooming Button Bits ja Beautiful Blooms II) ja FinnStamperin tekstileimaa. Kukkien keskustoina on vähän blingiä.

Well, I guess it's time again for my weekly post... My blog posts seem to be quite few and far between but I hope it's still better than nothing ;) This time I have a little card for a friend to show you. It's quite simple (once again), I simply used some Papermania cardstock, some Papertrey Ink stamps (a mix of 'Blooming Button Bits' and 'Beautiful Blooms II') and a sentiment stamp (it says 'For Friend' in Finnish) to make it. Also there's a bit of bling as the centres of flowers.

Höyheniä - Feathers

Sain viime vuoden loppupuolella meiliä, jossa kysyttiin, haluaisinko kokeilla käsintehtyjä papereita. Minä vastasin "kyllä kiitos" ja sain postissa nipun toinen toistaan kauniimpia Lalupate Oy:n maahantuomia japanilaisia, intialaisia ja nepalilaisia papereita. Paperit ovat tosiaan niin kauniita, ettei niitä meinaa raaskia käyttää, mutta nyt otin ja käytin yhden! Tuo höyhenpaperi sopi niin hyvin näiden stanssattujen höyhenien taakse, että oli ihan pakko :) Höyhenet on siis stanssattu Simon Says Stampin stanssilla ensin korkkipaperista ja sitten tekstuurikartongista, solmittu narulla ja kiinnitetty tuohon höyhenpaperiin (osa noista paperin höyhenistä muuten kimaltaa, jos oikein tarkkaan kuvaa katsoo, niin se saattaa siinä jopa näkyä ;) ). Sitten vain kerrostus ruskealle kartongille, kiinnitys korttipohjaan ja tekstin embossaus.

Some time ago I was contacted via email and asked if I wanted to sample some handmade patterned papers. I said 'why, of course' and received a bundle of gorgeous handmade papers made in Nepal, Japan and India (imported by Lalupate Oy). The papers are so pretty that I'm having difficult time using them (can't bear to cut into them...) but I braved myself and used one today. It just went together with the die cut feathers so well that I had to! :) So I die cut the feathers with a Simon Says Stamp die, once from cork paper and once from textured cardstock, tied together with a piece of twine and attached to the patterned paper (some of the feathers in the paper have subtle glitter to them, if you look at the piccie closely enough you might be able to see it). Then I just mounted the paper to a piece of brown cardstock and attached to the kraft coloured card base. The sentiment ('For a friend' in Finnish) is heat embossed with seafoam white embossing powder.

Kukka ystävälle - A flower for a friend

Tein vielä viime hetkillä ystävänpäiväkortin Penny Blackin Sending Hugs -haasteeseen. Väritin kukan (Penny Blackin Graceful) Distress Markereilla ja leikkasin irti. Taustan tein vesiväripaperille embossaamalla valkoisella jauheella Penny Blackin Brick Wall -taustaleiman ja lisäämällä väriä Ecoline-vesiväreillä. Tekstin embossasin ruskealla vellumille ja kiinnitin vyötteeksi osittain kukan alle ja osittain päälle. Kukan kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. Sitten vain koko kortti kiinni ruskeaan korttipohjaan ja koristeiksi muutama dew drop.

It's almost the last minute to take part in Penny Black's Sending Hugs Challenge but I decided to make a card for a friend and submit it in the challenge. I coloured the flower (it's 'Graceful' by Penny Black) with Distress Markers and fussy cut it out. I made the background by heat embossing the 'Brick Wall' background stamp by Penny Black with white embossing powder and colouring it with some Ecoline watercolours. I heat embossed the sentiment ('For friend' in Finnish) on a piece of vellum with brown embossing powder and attached it to the card. I attached the flower with foam adhesives so it's a little raised from the background. Lastly, I attached the whole thing on brown card base and added some dew drops as embellishments.

Unikkoja - Poppies

Vaihteeksi taas ihan simppeli peruskortti. Hero Artsin Poppy Backgroundin embossasin valkoisella jauheella ja väritin unikot Twinkling H2O -väreillä. Kerrostin ne parille kartongille ja kiinnitin korttipohjaan, jonka olin kohokuvioinut Papertrey Inkin Impression Platella. Lisäksi nauhaa rusetille.

Today I have a very simple and basic 'no fuss' card to show you. I heat embossed the 'Poppy Background' stamp by Hero Arts with white embossing powder and coloured the image with Twinkling H2O watercolours. I then matted the image on a couple of layers of cardstock and attached on my cardbase (I had dry embossed the card base with an Impression Plate by Papertrey Ink). Then I just added a simple ribbon tied into a bow, and that's it.

Tiikerililja - Tiger Lilly

Löysin tämän Penny Blackin Tiger Lilly -leiman joulun jälkeisistä aleista ja nyt se pääsi käyttöön ensimmäistä kertaa. Tämä on syntymäpäiväkortti ystävälle ja ajattelin osallistua sillä tämänhetkiseen Penny Blackin Sending Hugs -haasteeseen, johon toivottiin ystävä- tai rakkausteemaista työtä (toivottavasti kortti ystävälle on tarpeeksi ystäväteemainen). Kortti on taas melko yksinkertainen: väritin leimakuvan Prismoilla ja stanssasin sen irti ja kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. Paperit on BasicGreytä ja My Mind's Eyetä, tekstileima on Papertrey Inkin (embossasin sen ruskealla jauheella). Ja siinäpä se :)

I found this Tiger Lilly stamp by Penny Black on sale after Christmas and decided to use it now for the first time. I needed a birthday card for a friend and as Penny Black is having a Sending Hugs Challenge with the theme of friendship/love, I thought I'd submit my card (I hope a birthday card for a friend is acceptable for the theme). All in all, this is quite simple card really. I just coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and die cut it, mounted it on some brown cardstock and attached it to the card base with foam adhesives for a little dimension. I heat embossed the sentiment (by Papertrey Ink) with brown embossing powder. The patterned papers I used are by BasicGrey and My Mind's Eye. And that's it really :)
