Waddling By

I'm still making Christmas cards, this time with this fun penguin by Penny Black called Waddling By.

I coloured the penguin with my Copics, added a bit of Stickles to his belly (it doesn't show up well in the photo though) and fussy cut him out. For the background, I used the Snowflake Frame die and sponged some blue Distress Oxide ink to the rectangle part of the frame. I then stamped a sentiment from the sentiment set Thrill of Hope, partly in black Memento ink and partly with red Distress Oxide ink.

Roses

I made this card with a Pinkfresh Studio stamp called Choose Hope. Once again, it's a very clean and simple card. Just the image stamped and then coloured with my Copics, a sponged rectangle background made using a Penny Black stencil from the set Background Basics and a sentiment (it says 'Happy Birthday'). I also embellished the card with some iridescent gems.

Sunflowers

I wanted a bit of a break from making Christmas cards so I reached for a floral stamp instead. This one is called Sunflower Garden and it's by Simon Says Stamp.

The card itself is pretty simple. I stamped the image partially on my panel and coloured it with my Copics. I also added some white gel pen here and there. I then placed a stencil from Penny Black's Background Basics stencil set on my panel and sponged some Distress Oxide ink in Speckled Egg on it. Before matting the panel onto some blue cardstock, I stamped my sentiment on it (it says something like 'Sunshine for your day' in Finnish).

Monochrome Snowy

I made a Christmas card with Penny Black's sweet little snowman called Snowy. I stamped him on a panel of Copic friendly cardstock before colouring him with my Copics. I then used a stencil from the stencil set Background Basics, placed it onto the panel and sponged some Distress Oxide inks in Salvaged Patina and Evergreen Bough through the stencil. Before removing the stencil, I splattered some water and some white acrylic paint dilluted with water on the panel. After the splatters had dried, I stamped a sentiment from the sentiment set Christmas Sentiments using Distress Oxide ink in Evergreen Bough. I embellished the card with some snowflakes die cut with Dancing Snowflakes die, and adhered some enamel dots in the middle of the snowflakes.

Wreath

Another Christmas card with a gorgeous Penny Black stamp, this one is called Christmas Circlet.

I stamped the image on Copic friendly cardstock, coloured it with my Copics and added some white gel pen here and there. I then masked the rectangle on the panel and sponged some Distress Oxide inks in Old Paper and Antique Linen on the panel. I stamped my sentiment (it says 'Merry Christmas and Happy New Year' in Finnish) inside the wreath before I embellished the wreath with some gold gems. Lastly, I adhered the panel onto a piece of kraft coloured cardstock and then onto my card base.

Penguins

Another Christmas card added to my stash! This one uses the same idea as this previous card (click!) and is quick and easy to make.

The penguins come from the Penny Black stamp set Festive Frolic. I coloured them with my Copics adding details with a white gel pen and finally die cutting them with the matching dies Festive Frolic Cut Out. For the background I used a stencil from the Penny Black stencil set Background Basics, adhered it to my panel and sponged some Distress Oxide inks in Speckled Eggs and Salvaged Patina through the stencil. Before removing the stencil, I splattered some watered down white acrylic pain to the opening. I then stamped my Finnish sentiment, adhered the penguins with foam adhesives and embellished the card with some die cut snowflakes (Penny Black's Dancing Snowflakes) embellished with light blue enamel dots.

Poinsettias

I found this gorgeous Marianne Design stamp 'Poinsettia' in an online craft shop and had to have it as I thought it'd be lovely to colour. And I was right! I stamped it onto Copic friendly cardstock and coloured it with my Copics adding a bit of white gel pen here and there. Then I used a stencil from the Background Basics stencil set by Penny Black, placed it onto my panel and sponged some Distress Oxide inks in Saltwater Taffy and Festive Berries onto it. The sentiment I used says 'Merry Christmas' in Finnish. As embellishments, I added some pink sparkly gems.
