Christmas Post

Here's a Christmas card I made with a Penny Black stamp called Darling Delivery. I kept the card quite clean and simple, just the image on a panel die cut with Zig Zag Stackers die (Penny Black) and coloured with my Copics. I did add a bit of glitter to the image with a Nuvo glitter pen, and also some white gel pen accents. I inked the panel with Distress Oxide ink  in Tattered Rose and stamped my sentiment on it (it says 'Merry Christmas' in Finnish). I matted the panel onto a panel of pale pink cardstock and adhered it all onto my cardbase before embellishing the card with some pink gems.

More Poinsettias

My Christmas cards continue with the poinsettia theme. The stamp I used for these two cards is called Center Cut Holiday Floral by Simon Says Stamp (thanks for letting me use your stamp, Nonni!). I coloured both images with my Copics but just changed the colours a bit. I also added some Nuvo Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer pen to the little red berries as well as some white gel pen here and there. I used some Stickles glitter glue to line the center before adding my sentiments. For the first card I used a die and die cut the word out of gold foil cardstock and for the second card I heat embossed the sentiment - both sentiments say 'Christmas peace'. After matting the panels onto dark green cardstock, I embellished them with some gems.

Poinsettias

I recently treated myself to a bunch of new stamps and this gorgeous Festive Poinsettia from Alex Syberia Designs was one of them. I think the stamp itself is so stunning that I wanted it to take the center stage in my cards so I went for clean and simple design with the cards. I did the colouring on all of them with my Copics but changed the colours for each one. I then ink blended the backgrounds with Distress Oxide inks before heat embossing the sentiment (it says 'Merry Christmas') with Ranger embossing powder in the colour of Bubbly. Lastly, I embellished the cards with some gems.

Father's Day

It's Father's Day in Finland today and here's the card I made for my Dad. Somehow clean-and-simple always seems the best way to go with masculine cards and it's what I chose to do here.

I used products from Concord&9th, the stamp set is called Give Thanks and the die set Layering Leaves. I first stamped the images in different shades of blue (Distress Oxide inks in Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire) on a panel that I had die cut with a die from the Border Collection set by Penny Black. After the images had dried, I heat embossed the lines on the wheat. I then die cut the leaf that is on top of the middle image, and heat embossed it, too, before adhering it on top of the leaf. The sentiment on the little banner is heat embossed as well and it says 'To Dad'. I adhered the panel with foam adhesives on top of a panel that I had ink blended with Distress Oxide inks in Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. For embellishments, I used some silver gems.

Bundled

Here's a Christmas card with another wee girl from the new Penny Black stamp set Bundled (you'll find the other one if you scroll down to my previous post or simply click here). This stamp set is a part of the new Christmas release from Penny Black called Wishing You Joy - Christmas Round 2.

I coloured this little lady with my Copics and added a bit of white gel pen here and there before die cutting her with the matching die, Bundled Cut Out. I embossed the background panel with Texture embossing folder and very lightly inked it with white ink so that only the raised parts picked up the ink. The white frame is die cut with the new Whirl die and this time I used the middle panel, too. I ink blended it with Distress Oxide inks in Broken China, Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner before heat embossing the sentiment from the sentiment set Season to Believe onto it. After adhering everything in place (the little girl is adhered with foam adhesives), I embellished the card with  a snowflake made with Stick & Shine sheet Snowflakes and foil and die cut with the matching Snowflakes die as well as with some sequins and gems.

Oh What Fun

Here's a Christmas card I made using some new products by Penny Black from their latest release, Wishing You Joy - Christmas Round 2. This lil' miss with her pooch is a stamp from the new stamp set called Bundled. I just love how girly she is so I decided to go all girly and pink with the card.

I coloured the image with my Copics and die cut it with the matching die, Bundled Cut Out. I also used stamps from the stamp set Merry Days for the florals, coloured them with my Copics and die cut them with their matching dies, Merry Days Cut Out. For the background I created the panel by ink blending Distress Oxide inks in Saltwater Taffy, Festive Berries and Aged Mahogany onto it, followed by splatters of water mixed with Perfect Pearls, and watered down white acrylic paint. I die cut the frame using the fun new frame die Whirl, I die cut the frame a couple of times and adhered them on top of each other for a little bulk. The sentiments I used are both from the same stamp set Bundled as the girl. After having adhered everything in place (the die cut image is adhered with foam adhesives), I embellished the card with some red gems.

Beary Good

I made this clean and simple Christmas card with some new stamps from the latest Penny Black release called Wishing You Joy - Christmas Round 2. This sweet boy with his teddy is from the new stamp set Beary Good and besides Christmas cards, I think he'd be amazing for some winter birthday cards.

I usually use black Memento ink for my stamping when colouring with Copics but this time I decided to try something else. I used dark grey Memento ink and I think it gave a nice soft look to my stamping. I did the colouring with Copics before die cutting the image with its matching die, Beary Good Cut Out. For the background I used a stencil from the stencil set Background Basics. I used tape to adhere the stencil to my cardstock and then I used masking paper to mask off the bottom part of the card to create a snow like look. I ink blended the background using Distress Oxide inks in Broken China and Frayed Burlap before removing the stencil. I stamped the greenery with stamps from the sets Season's Marvel (the fir tree) and Nature's Gifts (the branches). The sentiment I used is from the sentiment set Feeling of Christmas. Before adhering the stamped image to my linen textured card base with some foam adhesives, I splattered the panel with both water and acrylic paint to create falling snow.
