Kieloja - Lilies of the valley

Viikonlopun päätteeksi vielä nopean kortin nopea postaus :) Tähän korttiin halusin kokeilla kesän korttileiriltä opittua 'fingerinking'-tyyliä. Embossasin siis Hero Artsin Silhouette Bells-leiman valkoisella (sivuhuom: Hero Artsin sivujen mukaan nämä kukat ovat kissankelloja mutta ainakin minun silmääni ne näyttävät pahasti kieloilta...) ja laitoin vedellä laimennettuja Distress Inkejä embossaamattomille alueille sormin. Tuolla tyylillä saa kivoja, hieman vesivärimaalauksen tyyppisiä värityksiä. Leimakuvan päälle suihkin vielä perfect pearlsia, mutta se ei taida kuvasta näkyä. Taustan leimasin Hero Artsin Envelope Pattern -leimalla, leikkasin reunan Marthan leikkurilla ja lisäsin satiininauhan. Yksinkertaisella tyylillä siis taas.

A quick post of a quick card to round up the weekend :) I wanted to try a technique called 'fingerinking' that I learned in the Summer Card Camp so I made a quick card with it. First I stamped the Hero Arts Silhouette Bells stamp on a piece of cardstock and heat embossed it with white powder. Then I applied some Distress Inks dilluted with water to it with my fingers, that's fingerinking! It gives a nice watercolour painting type of finish, don't you think? I misted some perfect pearls to it to give it a nice sheen but it doesn't really show in the piccie. I stamped the background with Envelope Pattern by Hero Arts, punched the edge with a Martha Stewart punch and added a satin ribbon. Simples, again :)

Kipuileva keiju - Achy fairy

Tämä keijukainen tuntui vaativan päästä parane pian -korttiin, sen verran nyrpeä ja kipeän oloinen ilme hänellä on (no, kellä ei olisi, jos päästä kasvaisi oksia...). Ja jos päähän sattuu, niin siihenhän laitetaan sitten side: kääräisin keijun päähän soiron juustoharsoa ja laitoin vielä pienen hakaneulan sitä kiinni pitämään. Väritys on taas Distress Inkeillä, hameeseen laitoin Rock Candy Sticklesiä ja siipiin kimallekynäpilkkuja. Leimakuvan reunoille sudin myös hieman mustetta. Paperit on Cosmo Cricketiä ja Echo Parkia, tekstileima FinnStamperin ja tuo keijuleima on siis Sweet Pea Stampsin Bad Hair Day (en kyllä ymmärrä tuon leimasimen nimeä, mielestäni nuo hiukset ovat hurmaavat! :) ). Lisänä vielä kukka ja nappi. Osallistun tällä Stampin' for the Weekend -haasteeseen, aiheena 'Spots&Dots'.

This little fairy demanded that she be placed on a get well card and I did as I was told ;) Her expression is quite sour and she looks like she's in some kind of pain... I figured that her head was aching (the branches growing out of her head acted as a clue ;) ) so I placed a bandage on it: it's a piece of cheese cloth and a tiny safetypin to hold it. I coloured her with Distress Inks, added some Rock Candy Stickles to her dress and little dots of glitter pen to her wings. I also added some ink to the edges of the stamped image. The papers I used are by Cosmo Cricket and Echo Park, the fairy stamp is Bad Hair Day by Sweet Pea Stamps (I don't really understand that name - I think her hair is just lovely! :) ) and the sentiment says 'get well soon'. As embellie a little flower and a button. I'll enter this to the Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge, the theme this week is 'Spots&Dots'.

Farkkujen uusiokäyttöä - How to use old jeans :)

Ihastukseksenne tai kauhistukseksenne (näkökulmasta riippuen ;) ) postaan vielä toistamiseen tälle päivälle :) P*skarteluhaasteeseen haluttiin koristeltuja tageja ja kun tuo vanhoista farkuista tekemäni ruusu pyöri pöydällä, niin ajattelin tehdä siitä tagin. Taustapaperi tässä on October Afternoonia, jonka päälle sudin hieman gessoa. Gessoa löytyy myös tuosta pyörittelemästäni farkkuruususta ja sen "lehdestä", joka on tuollaista leveää juuttinauhaa. Koristeena on vielä pala vanhaa kynttiläkoristetta helmineen ja pala tissue tapea kukan alla. Tagin reiän vahvistin eyeletillä ja lisäsin siihen narun. Minkäänlaista tekstileimaa en tuohon vielä laittanut, laitan sitten, kun tiedän mihin sitä tarvitsen.

To your delight or horror (depending on your point of view ;) ) I'll post for the second time today :) The Finnish challenge blog P*skarteluhaaste has a challenge this week to make a tag and as I had this rose I made out of piece of old jeans wandering around my craft table, I decided to use it for this tag. The background paper is by October Afternoon and I applied some gesso on it. There's also some gesso on the rose and its "leaf" which is a piece of wide jute ribbon. As embellie I used a piece of old candle holder decoration (that's the thing with beads on the tag) which I once found at a fleamarket. There's also some tissue tape underneath the rose. I also used an eyelet to decorate the tag 'hole' and added some twine to it. I didn't put any sentiment on this as I'm not yet sure where I'll use this, I'll stamp it on the tag later.

Tyttömäistä - Girly

Yritin tehdä yltiötyttömäistä korttia, joten tähän tuli sitten keijua, perhosta, blingiä, pinkkiä... :) Leimakuva on The Greeting Farmin Flutter Anya, tällä kertaa Distresseillä väritettynä (! yleensä väritän nämä ProMarkereilla, mutta nyt iski joku kumma ja ohitin ProMarkerit täysin...). Paperit on BasicGreytä ja doily ja kulmakoristeet stanssattu, perhoset leikattu Marthan leikkurilla. Lisänä hieman pompulanauhaa ja timanttiblingiä. Tuliko tarpeeksi tyttömäisyyttä? :D Ajattelin osallistua tällä pariin haasteeseen, sekä Papertake Weekly Challengella että Crafts and Me Challengesilla on aiheena 'Anything goes', joten niihin osallistun.

I tried to make as girly card as I could so I added everything girly to it, a fairy, butterflies, some bling, pink colour... :) The stamped image is Flutter Anya by The Greeting Farm coloured with Distress Inks (which is a surprise even to me as I usually colour TGF stamps with ProMarkers..). The papers are by BasicGrey, the doily and the corner 'thingies' are die cut with a Spellbinders die and the butterflies I punched with a Martha Stewart punch. Then I just added some pom-pom ribbon and a few rhinestones - is it girly enough, what do you think? :D I'll submit this to a couple of challenges, both Papertake Weekly Challenge and Crafts and Me Challenges are having the theme 'Anything goes'.

Hääparille - To the happy couple

Minulla tuntuu olevan ehtymätön varasto näitä 'polkkaamattomia' kortteja, sillä nämäkin ovat pari kuukautta vanhoja tekeleitä. Kesän alussa tein pari hääkorttia, yhden tarpeeseen ja yhden varalle. Korttipohjaksi taitoin A4-kokoisen kartongin (kutsuttiinkohan tätä samettikartongiksi tms., siinä on kaunis kuviointi pinnassa) ja molempien korttien sisään laitoin myöskin taitetun A4:n kokoisen kuultopaperin tapaisen paperin, johon kirjoittaa. Molempiin kortteihin käytin Stempelgleden sydämiä ja tähän ylempään korttiin myös samasta setistä 'roiskeleimaa', jotka kaikki embossasin kultaisella jauheella. Myös hääparille-tekstin embossasin. Ylempään korttiin laitoin vielä kultaista kuitukangasta vinon palan. Koristeena leveää kultaista satiininauhaa.

I seem to have an endless supply of unblogged cards, these two are also a couple of months old makes as I did a couple of wedding cards in the beginning of the summer, one was needed straightaway, the other is still waiting for a happy couple. I made the card blank for both of these cards by folding in two a cardstock by the size of  21 x 30 centimetres. I also folded in two a vellum-type paper by the same size and added that to the insides of the cards. The heart stamps I used are by Stelpelglede as is the 'splatter' stamp I used on the first card, the sentiment says basically 'to the wedded couple'. I embossed all the stamped images with gold embossing powder. To the first card I added some golden fabric (don't know its exact name in English, sorry..) and in both the cards I used some wide golden satin ribbon.

Niin, ja kortit ovat oikeasti saman värisiä (ylempi kuva antaa oikean kuvan väreistä), jotain sattui valon kanssa ja kuvista tuli todella erilaiset..

Please believe me that the cards are actually similar in colour (the first photo shows the colours as they really were), something just happened with the light and the photos turned out quite funny..

Kuoreen leimasin ja embossasin kultaisella tuollaisen kiekuran koristeeksi (leimasin on Artemion).

I decorated the envelope by stamping and embossing with gold powder this swirly stamp by Artemio.

Hortensia - Hydrangea

Tein pikaisen kiitoskortin, josta tuli niin simppeli, että oikeasti mietin, kehtaanko sitä edes tänne laittaa. Tykkään kuitenkin itse kortista sen verran, että laitan sen kuitenkin näytille. Korttipohjan taittelin vaaleanlilasta kartongista (kortti aukeaa ylöspäin) ja käytin siihen Hero Artsin Hydrangea-leimaa (ihana, ihana, ihana leimasin! :) ), jonka leimasin ruskealla Versafinella. FinnStamperin tekstileiman leimasin samalla värillä ja koristeeksi laitoin vain yksinkertaisen valkoisen satiininauhan. Muuta siihen ei tullut mutta mielestäni tuo leimasin on niin kaunis, että se toimii ihan yksinkin. Osallistun tällä Moxie Fab Worldin Fanatical about Botanical -haasteeseen.

I needed a quick thank you card and it actually became so plain and simple that I thought long and hard whether to show it to you at all. I decided to show it anyway because I liked the end result so much. I made the card blank from pale purple cardstock (the card opens upwards) and stamped Hero Arts' Hydrangea stamp (love it!) in brown Versafine on it. I used the same ink on the sentiment (which says 'Thank you'). The only embellishment I used is simple white satin ribbon. I know this is pretty plain card but I think the stamp is so beautiful that it can be on its own on a card. I'll enter this to the Moxie Fab World's Fanatical about Botanical Challenge.
