The Flower Challenge: January - Tammikuu

I'm sharing my reminder card for The Flower Challenge where the theme for January is Embossing Heat/Dry. As our Guest Designer, we have the fabulous Jyoti.

I used a couple of stamps that I haven't used in a while for my card. The floral stamp is Spring Bouquet by Studio Katia, I coloured it with my Copics and used the matching die to die cut it. For the background, I stamped cardstock with Simon Says Stamp's Wide Stripes Background stamp and then die cut it with an MFT die. I also used MFT die to die cut the circle frame behind the floral cluster. I used heat embossing for the sentiment which says 'On your birthday'. I embellished the card with some white paint splatters and some clear sequins.

Käytin tähän paria leimaa, joita en ole hetkeen käyttänyt. Kukkaleima on Studio Katian Spring Bouquet, väritin sen Copiceilla ja stanssasin irti. The Flower Challenge: January - Tammikuu

The very first challenge of 2021 is now live at The Flower Challenge! It's nice and easy one with the theme of Embossing Heat/Dry. As our Guest Designer, we have the talented Jyoti.

But before I get to my current DT card, I'm sharing my four favourite cards of all the cards I made for The Flower Challenge in 2020. They're all on the clean and simple side of cardmaking but with a bit more variation in colour choices than previous year (see them here). 

Now onto my current DT card - and my trusty pink! I decided to use heat embossing on these stamps by Altenew from the set Focus On You. After heat embossing them, I coloured them with my watercolours and die cut them with the matching dies. I die cut the circle panel with an MFT die and stamped my sentiment on it (it translates as 'Congratulations'). I added a bit of patterned paper in the background and embellished the card with some sequins and a little bow.

Vuoden ensimmäinen haaste alkaa The Flower Challengessä ja aiheena on Embossing Heat/Dry. Guest Designerina meillä on lahjakas Jyoti.

Yllä on myös omasta mielestäni neljä parasta korttia, jotka olen vuoden 2020 aikana The Flower Challengeen tehnyt. Kaikki ovat melkoisen CAS-tyylisiä mutta ainakin väreissä on enemmän variaatiota kuin edellisenä vuonna (näet ne täällä).

Tammikuun DT-korttiin käytin Altenew'n Focus on You -leimoja, jotka embossasin ja väritin vesiväreillä. Taustalle stanssasin pyöreän paneelin MFT:n stanssilla ja leimasin siihen Heidin Korttipajan tekstileiman. Taustalle hieman kuviopaperia ja kortin koristelu paljeteilla ja pienellä rusetilla.

AAA Birthday: January - Tammikuu

It's time for the first challenge of 2021 at AAA Birthday and as our theme we have A Stencil Background. As our Guest Designer this month, we have Melanie. We also have new DT members and this is their first challenge with us so please make sure you check out AAA Birthday to see them in action too!

In my DT card, I used some of my new stamps. These are from the set Birthday Wishing by Colorado Craft Company. I coloured them with my Zig markers and die cut them with the matching dies. I die cut the panel with an MFT die and used a stencil by Create a Smile to ink the splash of colour (I used Distress Oxide inks in Peacock Feathers and Broken China). I heat embossed the sentiment (it says 'On your birthday') on a strip of grey cardstock and also added the same grey cardstock behind the panel, and a bit of patterned paper to cover the cardbase. I embellished the card with some black enamel dots.

AAA Birthdayssä alkaa vuoden 2021 ensimmäinen haaste ja teemana on A Stencil Background. Guest Designerina meillä on Melanie. Tiimiimme on liittynyt myös uusia jäseniä, joten blogista löytyy myös heidän ensimmäiset DT-korttinsa.

Omaan korttiini käytin Colorado Craft Companyn Birthday Wishing -leimoja ja stansseja. Leimakuvat väritin Zigeillä ja taustalle mustetin maaliroiskeen Create a Smilen sapluunalla, koko paneelin stanssasin sitten MFT:n stanssilla. Tekstileiman embossasin. Paneelin taustalle laitoin ensin tummanharmaata kartonkia ja sitten hieman kuviopaperia. Kortin koristelin mustilla enamel dotseilla.

Penny Black Winter Wishes: Hello Deer

It's reminder time at Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The theme for December is Anything Goes with the optional theme of Winter Wonderland.

I imagine this beautiful deer is a creature that lives in winter wonderland. The stamp I used is a new one from Penny Black and it's called Hello Deer. I stamped it straight onto my card base and colour in icy colours using my Zig markers. I then masked the rectangle and sponged some Distress Oxide inks to create the 'frame'. The colours I used were Speckled Egg, Broken China and very little of Black Soot. I then stamped the sentiment which is from the same Hello Deer set. Lastly, I embellished the card with some enamel dots.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge on puolessa välissä eli vielä ehtii hyvin osallistua. Aiheena on Anything Goes ja vaihtoehtoisena aiheena Winter Wonderland.

Tämä kaunis peura varmastikin asustelee talven ihmemaassa! Leima on nimeltään Hello Deer ja se on osa Penny Blackin uutta kokoelmaa Winter Wishes. Leimasin sen suoraan korttipohjaan ja väritin talvisen kylmillä sävyillä Zig-kynillä. Maskasin suorakulmion ja mustetin 'kehyksen' peuralle Distress Oxide -musteen sävyillä Speckled Egg, Broken China ja Black Soot. Tekstileima on samaisesta Hello Deer -setistä. Koristelin kortin muutamalla enamel dotsilla.

AAA Birthday: December - Joulukuu

It's time for the last challenge of 2020 at AAA Birthday and the theme is 'Twinkle'. And to end this trying year on a high this challenge is sponsored by Joy Clair who are offering two $15 credits to be spent on digital products. Sounds wonderful, right? We also have a Guest Designer, Claire is joining us this month.

I went as CAS as possible with my DT card. I die cut the panel with My Favorite Things die and then used Stitched Star Grid die by My Favorite Things to create the stitched vertical lines and to die cut the stars from glittery cardstock. After gluing the stars in place I stamped the sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) and adhered the panel to my cardbase. So my 'twinkle' comes from the stars and the glittery cardstock.

Liimailin tähdet paikoilleen ja leimasin tekstin ennen kuin kiinnitin paneelin korttipohjaan. Siinäpä se! Ja twinkle tulee kortissani sekä tähdistä että kimaltavasta kultakartongista.

The Flower Challenge: December - Joulukuu

It's time for the last challenge of the year at The Flower Challenge and during December, we'd like you to 'Add Embellishments' to your floral cards. As our Guest Designer, we have the talented Helen joining us.

I decided to make a Christmas card with Penny Black stamps. I die cut a panel using Antique Frame die and stamped on it with Vintage Postcard stamp. For my floral image, I used a stamp called Sparkler and coloured the image with my watercolours. I also added a bit of gold Stickles to the points of the petals. After having coloured the image, I put the die back in place and sponged some Distress Oxide ink in Antique Linen on the edges of the panel. The sentiment I used wishes 'peaceful Christmas time'. I adhered the panel onto some kraft cardstock before adhering it all to my card base. As my embellishments, I used gold sequins.

Vuoden viimeinen haaste alkaa The Flower Challengessä ja teemana on tällä kertaa 'Add Embellishments' eli koristeita pitäisi kukkakorttiin laittaa. Guest Designerina meillä on tällä kertaa Helen.

Omaan korttiini käytin Penny Blackin leimoja ja stansseja. Stanssasin ensin paneelin Antique Frame -stanssilla ja sitten leimasin siihen Vintage Postcard -leimalla ja kukan Sparkler-leimalla. Kukan väritin vesiväreillä ja lisäsin terälehtiin kultaista Sticklesiä. Värityksen jälkeen laitoin stanssin takaisin paikoilleen ja mustetin paneelia Distress Oxide -musteen Antique Linen -sävyllä. Tekstileiman leimasin paikoilleen ja kiinnitin paneelin kraftin väriseen kartonkiin ja sitten korttipohjaan. Koristeina käytin kultaisia paljetteja.

The Flower Challenge: November - Marraskuu

I'm sharing a reminder card for The Flower Challenge. Our theme for November is a nice and easy one, 'Use a Sentiment'. We have a fabulous Guest Designer too as Enna is joining us this month.

For my card, I used a gorgeous flower from Bouquet Builder 1 stamp set by Waffle Flower. I coloured it with my Copics and die cut it with its matching die. To die cut the panel, I used a die from Graceful Stackers die set by Penny Black. I sponged some Distress Oxide inks to it leaving the die in place so that the die left the white frame around the panel. I added a bit of craft foam behind the panel before adhering it to my cardbase. The sentiment is half die cut and half heat embossed and says 'Congrats on your special day'. To embellish the card, I added some enamel dots.

The November challenge is starting at The Flower Challenge and this month we have a nice and easy one for you, the theme is 'Use a Sentiment'. As our Guest Designer, we have the fabulously talented  Enna. 

 

I made my DT card using this gorgeous stamp called Peony Dreams by Waffle Flower Crafts. I coloured the image with my Copics. For the background I used some patterned papers and as my sentiment, I used a die cut by Winnie and Walter. I die cut it a few times and glued the die cuts on top of each other to make it a bit more prominent. Lastly, I embellished the card with some enamel dots.

AAA Birthday: November - Marraskuu

November challenge at AAA Birthday is on! This month we're asking you to create a birthday card for a child. Our Guest Designer this month is the talented Karthikha. We also have a DT call so if you'd like to be considered, please head over to AAA Birthday for all the details.

I created my card for a little boy turning seven. I used a stamp by Lili of the Valley called Riding My Bike and coloured the image with my Copics. I die cut the panel with a die by My Favorite Things and added some patterned paper behind it. I embellished the card with the number 7 and some little tags adhered with a brad.

Oman korttini tein 7 vuotta täyttävälle pojalle Lili of the Valleyn leimalla Riding My Bike, jonka väritin Copiceilla. Paneelin stanssasin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja taustalle laitoin kuviopaperia. Kortin koristelin numerolla 7 ja parilla pienellä stanssatulla tägillä, jotka kiinnitin haaraniitillä.

The Flower Challenge: October - Lokakuu

 

We're midway through October challenge at The Flower Challenge. This month we're also celebrating our 4th birthday so there are lots of prizes to be won! Please head over to The Flower Challenge blog to see them. Aaand we have a new DT member joining us this month too! It is the very talented Loll Thompson who has agreed to join us and who will undoubtedly inspire us all with her gorgeous cards.

 

 

 

So our theme is Circle/Circles and I used a die from the die set Framed by Penny Black to create my circle. I die cut the circle three times and glued them all on top of each other to make the circle a bit more prominent. The flower I used is a stamp by SugarPea Designs and from the set Meadow Motifs, I coloured it with my Copics and die cut it using the matching die. I die cut the panel with My Favorite Things die and stamped my sentiment ('Congratulations') on it. Before attaching the panel to my card base, I added a layer of fun foam behind it to raise it from the card base. Lastly, I rounded the corners of my card base.

AAA Birthday: October - Lokakuu

 

 

 

It's October and time for a new challenge at AAA Birthday. This time we have a lovely inspiration photo for you draw inspiration from (please see above).

I was inspired by the sunflowers and the colours and I also used a circle frame to imitate the opening of the cornucopia in the photo. The stamp I used is Sunflower Love by Waffle Flower, I coloured it with my Copics. The circle frame is die cut with Stitched Circles dies by Penny Black. For the background I used a bit of patterned paper. The sentiment is a Finnish one and it says 'Congratulations'. I embellished my card with some gold sequins and splatters of white watercolour and gold shimmer mist.

The Flower Challenge #49: October - Lokakuu

 

It's time for a new challenge at The Flower Challenge and the theme is Circle/Circles. October is a special month for The Flower Challenge as it is our birthday month - we're 4 years old now! To celebrate, we have loads of prizes for our winners, please head over to The Flower Challenge to see them. And while you're there, you'll find that we have a new wonderfully talented DT member joining us. Who might that be? You'll find out at The Flower Challenge!

I made my card using the gorgeous florals from the Meadow Motifs set by SugarPea Designs that I coloured with my Copics. For my circle, I made a circle frame with the Stitched Circles dies by Penny Black and placed a piece of vellum behind it before heat embossing the sentiment ('Congratulations' in Finnish) with gold embossing powder. I also placed some rich brown patterned paper for the background on my card. I finished the card by embellishing it with matte gold sequins.

Penny Black Autumn Extraordinaire: Harvest Breeze

 

 

It's time for a new challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge and the theme for October is Anything Goes with the optional theme of Too Cute to Spook!

For my DT card, I used stamps from the wonderful new release by Penny Black called Autumn Extraordinaire. As the name suggests, it is filled with lovely autumn themed stamps and dies. I used stamps from two new sets, the cute hedgies and the sentiment is from the set Harvest Breeze and the leaves on the ground are from the set Falling Leaves. I coloured the images with my watercolours, fussy cut the hedgies and die cut the leaves with their matching dies. I sponged some Distress Oxide ink to the background, stamped tiny leaves from the Harvest Breeze set on it and adhered everything in place. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on a strip of brown cardstock and adhered it with foam adhesives. Lastly, I splattered some gold spray onto the card.

PBSC: September - Syyskuu

We're midway through the September challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes with the optional theme of Use Your Favourite Colours. Our Guest Designer is Bonnie.

 

This time I went with the Anything Goes theme and used the cute kitty from the Fun Felines set by Penny Black (all the stamps and dies I used on this card are by Penny Black). I coloured the cat with my Copics and die cut it using the matching die, Fun Felines Cut Out.  I placed the cat on a bench from the set Yummy, I stamped it, coloured with my Copics and die cut it using the Yummy Cut Out dies. The little signs is die cut with Sign die set and the heart with Hearts Galore die. For the background I die cut a panel using the Diamond Cut die. The sentiment is from the Trust Me Builder sentiment set. After attaching everything in place, I rounded the right hand corners of the card.

It's time for September challenge at AAA Birthday! Our theme this month is 'Animals & Critters' and we have Maaike joining us as a Guest Designer.

 

I made my birthday card using this sweet little kitty from Waffle Flower, it is from the stamp set Smiling. I coloured the image with my Copics and die cut it using the matching die. For the background, I used some patterned paper matted onto dark blue cardstock and a frame die cut with an MFT die. The sentiment says 'Congrats on your birthday'.

Käytin korttiini tätä suloista Waffle Flowerin kissaa, jonka väritin Copiceilla ja stanssasin. Taustalle laitoin kuviopaperia tummansiniselle kartongille kerrostettuna. Tekstileima on Heidin Korttipajan.

PBSC: September - Syyskuu

It's September and that means, of course, a new challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge! The theme is, as always, 'Anything Goes' with the optional theme of 'Your Favourite Colours'. We have a prize for the winner, a $20 voucher to 1-2-3 Stitch! As our Guest Designer, we have Bonnie joining us.

 

Well, can you guess my favourite colour? Ha ha, yes, it's pink - at least when it comes to cards and colouring floral stamps!  The stamp I used is Rose Bowl by Penny Black and I coloured it with my watercolours before fussy cutting it. For the background, I used a piece of patterned paper and a frame die cut with Snowflake Stitch Frame dies by Penny Black. I heat embossed the sentiment (it says 'On your birthday') on a strip of grey cardstock. Lastly, I embellished the card with sequins.

Tekstileima on Heidin Korttipajan, embossasin sen valkoisella harmaalle kartonkipalalle. Lopuksi koristelin kortin paljeteilla.

The Flower Challenge #47: August - Elokuu

The August challenge is on at The Flower Challenge and it's a lovely one, we're asking you to 'Add Sparkle'! Our Guest Designer is the fabulous Darnell Knauss.

I used a gorgeous stamp by Uniko, this is called Pure Florals: Peony. I heat embossed it with sparkly gold embossing powder before watercolouring the image. I wanted to keep the card simple so I only added the sentiment ('Warmest congratulations') before matting the panel onto pink cardstock and then to the card base.

Elokuun haaste The Flower Challengessä on alkamassa ja teemana on 'Add Sparkle'. Guest Designerina on Darnell Knauss.

Käytin korttiini Unikon Pure Florals: Peony -leimaa, jonka embossasin kimaltelevan kultaisella jauheella ja väritin vesiväreillä. Halusin pitää kortin yksinkertaisena, joten leimasin vain tekstin ja kerrostin paneelin pinkille kartongille ja sitten korttipohjaan.

The Flower Challenge: #46 Reminder - Muistutus

We're half way through our July challenge at The Flower Challenge and our theme is Summer/Winter. As our Guest Designer, we have the talented Mac Mable joining us.

I chose 'Summer' again and chose the colours of a summer sunset with the silhouettes of flowers against it. I sponged some Distress Oxide inks to the top portion of my card base and stamped flowers onto it from the new Penny Black stamp set Soulful Silhouettes (30-691).  I then took a strip of dark grey cardstock and added a little border with it. I chose a sentiment from the new Penny Black sentiment set Words of Encouragement (30-720)  and stamped it with the same ink as I did the flowers.  Lastly, I rounded the bottom corners of my card.

Itse valitsin taas kesän aiheekseni ja erityisesti kesäisen auringonlaskun värit. Mustetin korttipohjaani Distress Oxide -musteita ja leimasin siihen päälle kukkia uudesta Penny Blackin setistä Soulful Silhouettes (30-691). Lisäsin siihen vielä pienen kaitaleen tummanharmaata kartonkia, jonka alle leimasin tekstileiman Penny Blackin setistä Words of Encouragement (30-712). Lopuksi pyöristin vielä kortin alakulmat.

AAA Birthday #15: July - Heinäkuu

We have a new challenge starting at AAA Birthday and this month we'd love to see anything '3D'. We have Rachelle joining us as our Guest Designer.

I have to confess, I'm not good at making pop-up boxes or diorama cards so I interpreted 3D as being anything that is not flat but is raised from the surface and created my card with this in mind. I created the background by masking the bottom left hand corner and sponging some Distress Oxide ink onto the cardbase. As my focal point, I have the cute hedgie from the new Penny Black set called Critter Delights (30-711), I coloured him with my Zig markers and fussy cut him out. I did the same to the bouquet he is holding, it's from the set Refreshing (30-695). I then popped them up on some foam adhesives. The sentiment is from the set Carefree Wishes (30-700), I heat embossed it onto a strip of dark brown cardstock and then adhered it onto the cardbase with foam adhesives. I embellished the card with some enamel dots.

Heinäkuun haaste AAA Birthdayssä on 3D ja Guest Designerina on Rachelle.

Itse en ole haka tekemään kovinkaan erikoisia 3D-kortteja, joten tulkitsin 3D:n tarkoittavan mitä tahansa koholla olevaa ja se mielessä tein korttini. Korttipohjaan maskasin alavasemman kulman ja mustetin korttipohjaa Distress Oxide -musteella. Leimakuvat on Penny Blackin uusia leimoja, siili on Critter Delights (30-711) -setistä ja kimppu Refreshing (30-695) -setistä. Väritin molemmat Zigeillä, leikkasin irti ja kiinnitin korttipohjaan tarrapaloilla. Teksti on Carefree Wishes -setistä, embossasin sen ja kiinnitin korttipohjaan niin ikään tarrapaloilla. Koristeiksi muutama enamel dotsi.

The Flower Challenge #46: July - Heinäkuu

 A new challenge is starting at The Flower Challenge and for the month of July our theme is Summer/Winter. You can draw inspiration from specific flowers of the season, or colours, or anything specific to the season, as long as you use floral stamps as your main focal point.  We have Mac Mable joining us as our Guest Designer.

I chose summer as my theme and I'm not sure if there is anything more summery than a field of flowers. That in mind I picked this gorgeous floral stamp by Stamping Bella, it's called Floral Forest Backdrop. I coloured it with my Copic markers and added some white gelly roll pen here and there. I matted the panel onto a piece of black cardstock before adhering it to my purple cardbase. I stamped my sentiment ('Congratulations') onto a strip of cardstock and adhered it in place. Lastly, I embellished my card with some sequins.

Kerrostin paneelin mustalle kartongille ennen liilaan korttipohjaan kiinnittämistä ja lisäsin tekstin. Koristelin kortin paljeteilla.
