Onnea - Congrats

Tällainen synttärikortti meni 11 vuotta täyttäneelle veljenpojalle. Väritin tuon Doodle Factoryn öttiäisen Copiceilla, leikkasin irti ja laitoin silmät. Taustalle Lawn Fawnin kuviopaperia, MFT:n stanssilla stanssattu kehys ja Lawn Fawnin stanssilla stanssattu tähti. Lopuksi leimasin tekstin.

I made this birthday card for my nephew who turned 11. I coloured the stamped image with my Copics and fussy cut him out. I thought he might need some proper eyes, so glued some googly eyes on him. The patterned paper is by Lawn Fawn, and I die cut the frame with My Favourite Things dies and the star with Lawn Fawn dies. I stamped the sentiment ('Congrats!') straight to the background paper.

Ruusu - Rose

Ystävänpäiväkorteilla jatketaan. Ruusu on DoodleFactoryn leima, väritin sen Copiceilla ja leikkasin irti. Leimasin Dekoretten tekstin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla stanssattuun banneriin ja laitoin taustalle kuviopaperia ja piparkakkureunaisen kehyksen (MFT:n stanssi sekin). Lisäksi vain muutama enamel dotsi.

This is another card I made for a friend. The stamp I used is by DoodleFactory (it's an oldie but goodie :) ), I coloured the image with my Copics and fussy cut it out. I stamped my sentiment ('For a Friend') on a banner die cut with a My Favorite Things die, the dark brown frame is also die cut with a MFT die. I adhered it all on a piece of patterned paper and my card base and added a few enamel dots to finish the card.

Kettu repolainen - Fox

Kevät on meillä varsinaista synttäriaikaa, on veljenpoikien ja oman pojan synttäreitä, joten poikakortteja tulee tehtyä. Tässä 10 vuotta täyttäneelle veljenpojalle tehty kortti, jonka hänelle antoivat isovanhempansa. Leimakuvana tässä on DoodleFactoryn kettu, jonka väritin Copiceilla, leikkasin irti ja kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. Taustalle stanssasin ikkunan My Favorite Thingsin Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window -stanssilla ja sen keskustaan lisäsin palan kuviopaperia. Lisänä vain stanssatut numerot ja onnitteluteksti.

In my family, spring is the time of birthdays. Three of my four nephews have their birthday in spring as does my son, so I make a lot of boy cards! I made this card for my nephew who turned 10, it was given to him by his grandparents. I stamped the DoodleFactory fox, coloured him with my Copics, fussy cut him out and attached with foam adhesives. For the background I die cut the window using 'Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window' die by My Favorite Things and added a piece of patterned paper to it. I then added the die cut numbers and the sentiment ('Congrats!' in Finnish).

Joulukarhu - Christmas Bear

Inspiraatio tähän korttiin tuli Kristina Werneriltä. Taustan siis mustetin Distress Inkeillä ja suihkin hieman hopeaspray'ta päälle. DoodleFactoryn karhun väritin Copiceilla, leikkasin irti ja kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. Karhun tassujen alle FinnStamperin tekstileima ja muutama timantti sinne tänne ja siinäpä se.

I was inspired by these Kristina Werner cards and decided to make my own version of them. I sponged the circle with Distress Inks and added some silver spray to it. Then I coloured the DoodleFactory bear with my Copics, fussy cut him out and adhered to cardbase with some foam adhesives. To ground him, I placed my sentiment ('Happy Christmas' in Finnish) under his hind paws. Then I just added some sticky back rhinestones here and there for some extra bling.

Ei enää pyöriä! - No more bikes!

Veljenpoikani täytti tässä keväällä 15 ja tein hänelle nämä kortit. 15 tarkoittaa mopoikää ja se taas tarkoittaa hyvästejä polkupyörille - siitä lähti ensimmäisen kortin idea! Polkupyörä on DoodleFactoryn leima Copiceilla väritettynä, taustalle stanssasin erinäisistä papereista ympyröitä ja neliön. Lisäksi vain stanssatut numerot ja teksti Lawn Fawnin aakkosilla.

My nephew turned 15 not too long ago and I made him these cards (one for us to give to him and one for his grandparents to give). When you turn 15, you are officially allowed to ride mopeds in Finland (after getting sufficient licenses, etc, of course) and for many that means "no more bikes!" - that's where the idea for this first card came from! The bike is stamped with a DoodleFactory stamp and I coloured it with my Copics and fussy cut it out. Then I die cut a couple of circles and a square to mat under it and just added the die cut numbers and the text (stamped with Lawn Fawn alphabet stamps).

Tähän toiseen korttiin tulikin sitten stanssailtua... Stanssasin nuo bannerit My Favorite Thingsin stansseilla ja niihin aakkoset Memory Boxin aakkosstansseilla, myös numerot stanssasin MB:n stansseilla. Sitten vain kerrostusta kartongeille ja kortti oli valmis. Idea korttiin tuli täältä.

This next card required some die cutting... First I die cut the fishtail banners with My Favorite Things dies and then I die cut the letters with Memory Box's alphabet dies in the banners. Also the numbers are die cut with MB's dies. Then I just layered the cardstocks on top of each other and the card was done! The idea for this card came from here.

Robotti - Robot

Tällä kertaa olisi näytille tarjolla tällainen poikamainen synttärikortti, taas varsin simppeli sellainen. Leimakuva on suloinen DoodleFactory-robotti, jonka väritin Copiceilla (kyllä, piiiitkän vastustelun jälkeen annoin periksi ja ostin ensimmäiset Copicini. Nyt sitten kiroilen huokailen, kun en niillä osaa mitään... Ei siis kannata katsoa tuota väritystä turhan tarkkaan, olen vielä sen verran harjoitteluasteella!). Reunaan lisäsin hieman kuviopaperia ja vähän leipurinnyöriä. Sitten vain tekstileima ja paneelin kiinnitys tarrapaloilla korttipohjaan. Siinäpä se.

I've got a boyish birthday card to show you today. It's quite simple (again) but I think I kinda like it :) The cute robot is a stamp by DoodleFactory, I coloured him with Copics (yes, I finally gave in and bought my first Copic markers! I'm no good with them yet so please don't look at my colouring too closely ;) ). As other elements, I used a strip of patterned paper, some baker's twine, and the stamped sentiment (it says 'Congrats!' in Finnish). I used some foam adhesives to attach the panel to the card base.

Sinä olet aurinko - You are my sun*

Tein eilisen ystävänpäivän kunniaksi kortit elämäni miehille. Tämä ensimmäinen oli miehelleni, embossasin siihen mustalla Lawn Fawnin auringon ja väritin sen ProMarkereilla (erittäin taidokas ja aikaavievä väritys, kuten näkyy... ;D ). Tekstileima on myös Lawn Fawnia, jätin siitä vain sunshine-sanan pois. Stanssaus on Simon Says Stampin ommelstanssilla ja sitten vain kiinnitys korttipohjaan.

It was Valentine's Day yesterday so I gave cards to the most important men in my life. This first one was for my husband. I heat embossed the sun (from Lawn Fawn's 'Sunny Skies' set) in black and coloured it with ProMarkers. Then I stamped the sentiment, it's from the same Lawn Fawn set and it actually says 'You are my sunshine' but I left the last word out. I did the diecutting with Simon Says Stamp's stitch edged die and adhered the panel to my card base.

Tämä toinen kortti meni esikoiselle. Käytin siihen Tiddly Inksin sankaria, jonka väritin Polychromoksilla ja kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. Taustan tein Tim Holtzin sabluunalla ja Distress Inkeillä. Tekstileimat ovat FinnStamperin ja lisänä vain sydännapit.

This next card was for our eldest son. I used the superhero from a Tiddly Inks stamp set, coloured him with Polychromos pencils and adhered with foam adhesives. I made the background with a Tim Holtz stencil and some Distress Inks. I used two different sentiments in this card, and together, translated loosely, they say 'Have a lovely day friend'. As embellies, I used some heart shaped buttons.

Tämä viimeinen kortti meni kuopukselle. Käytin siihen DoodleFactoryn ampparia, jonka väritin ProMarkereilla ja siipiin lisäsin vähän Wink of Stellaa. Taustalle stanssasin huovasta sydämen Sizzixin stanssilla. Taustapaperi taitaa olla Echo Parkia, lisänä FinnStamperin tekstileima, sydännappi ja muutama Liquid Pearls -tippa.

This last card was for our youngest son. I used the sweet bee from DoodleFactory for this card, I coloured him with ProMarkers and added some clear Wink of Stella for his wings. I die cut the blue heart out of felt with a Sizzix die, added the sentiment (it says 'Hugs' in Finnish), a heart shaped button and some Liquid Pearls dots. The patterned paper is by Echo Park.

Keltainen apina - Yellow monkey

Tein toisenkin synttärikortin meidän perheen pienimmälle (eka on tämä täällä), tämän hänelle antaa isovanhempansa. Leimasin siihen Doodle Factoryn apinan liaaniin roikkumaan ja väritin ProMarkereilla. Stanssasin kehykset Paper Smoochesin Polaroid-setin stanssilla ja embossasin tekstileiman ja lisäilin sydämet. Taustalle Pink Paisleen paperi ja lisäksi Timpan stanssilla stanssattu numero.

Our youngest son turns two this month and I made him a birthday card #2 (you can see the first one here), this will be given to him by his grandparents. I stamped the Doodle Factory monkey hanging on a liana and coloured him with ProMarkers. I framed the stamped image with the die cut Polaroid frame and heat embossed the sentiment (it says 'Congrats' in Finnish). The little hearts are die cut with a Simon Says Stamp die and the number with a Tim Holtz die. The patterned paper is by Pink Paislee.

Pian 2! - Soon 2!

Meidän perheen pienin täyttää tässä kuussa kokonaiset kaksi vuotta! (*mihinseaikamenee...*) Synttärikortiksi tein tällaisen pyöreän Doodle-taksilla varustetun kortin. Auton väritin ProMarkereilla ja leikkasin irti. Tuo taksikyltissä oleva keltainen läikkä on tämän tekniikan ihmelapsen taidonnäyte - leimasin kylttiin pojan nimen ja osasin kuin osasinkin peittää sen kuvankäsittelyohjelmalla! :D Eipä tässä muuta kummempaa olekaan, enamel dotseja, numero ja October Afternoonin papereita. Pieni autokortti pienelle automiehelle! :)

Our youngest son turns two this month and I made him this little birthday card. The car is a DoodleFactory taxi stamp which I coloured with ProMarkers and fussy cut out. The yellow smudge you see on the taxi sign is something I'm very proud of - I had stamped our son's name there and as I want to keep it private, I smudged it out with a picture editing programme, and that is no small miracle let me tell you! I'm really no good at all with computers so to be able to do that is big for me, ha ha! :D But anyways, the card itself is pretty straightforward, there are some enamel dots, the fussy cut number and some October Afternoon papers, and that's about it.

Kuka vaihtaa vaippoja - Who's changing diapers

No mitä ilmeisimmin joku miehen töistä, sillä sinne tilattiin onnittelukortti poikavauvalle :) Tein sitten kaksi hieman erilaista kortti, joista valita. Tässä ensimmäisessä käytin tuota DoodleFactory ihanaa vaippasankaria, jonka väritin Distress Markereilla ja kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. Sydän on stanssattu Sizzixin stanssilla ja kuorrutettu Distress Glitterillä (onko mitään kauniimpaa kuin Distress Glitter Peacock Feathers -värisenä!? Ei ole! :) ) ja banneri on stanssattu ensin kartongista ja sitten vellumista siihen päälle, tekstileiman laitoin vellumiin. Paperit on My Mind's Eyetä ja lisänä chipboard-tähtiä (Wycinankalta) ja timantteja.

Well, someone from my hubby's workplace apparently as they asked me to make a card for a baby boy :) I made two slightly different cards for them to choose from. For this first card, I used the lovely little Beepo from DoodleFactory and coloured him with Distress Markers and used some foam adhesives to attach him to the card. I diecut the heart with a Sizzix die and covered it in Distress Glitter (is there anything prettier than Distress Glitter in Peacock Feathers? Well, quite frankly, no! :) ). Then I diecut two fishtail banners, one from teal cardstock and one from vellum and placed them on top of each other, the sentiment ('Congrats on your baby') is stamped on the vellum. The papers I used are by My Mind's Eye and as embellies there are chipboard stars (by Wycinanka) and some rhinestones.

Tämä toinen kortti taitaa olla aavistuksen perinteisempi sekä leimakuvaltaan että väreiltään. Leimakuva on Marianne Designsin ja väritetty taas Distress Markereilla, kiinnitetty tarrapaloilla. Paperit on My Mind's Eyetä ja October Afternoonia, koristeina muutama paljetti. 

This second card is somewhat more traditional with its colours and stamped image. The baby is a stamp by Marianne Designs and I coloured him with Distress Markers and attached with foam adhesives. The papers I used are by My Mind's Eye and October Afternoon and as embellies there are a few sequins. The sentiment says 'Congrats on your baby'.

Spreijaaja - The dude's spraying!

Taas lähestyy yhden veljenpojan synttärit ja jo toista kertaa tämän vuoden sisällä minä olen ajoissa korttien kanssa (tästähän uhkaa tulla tapa...! ;) ). Tein taas kolme eri korttia, yhden meiltä, yhden isovanhempiensa annettavaksi ja yhden isoisoäitinsä annettavaksi ja tässä näytille yksi 8-vuotiskorteista. Taustan "seinän" tein teippaamalla washiteippejä kartongille ja kirjaimet stanssasin Memory Boxin stansseilla (Classic Lower Alphabet). Väritin kirjaimet ProMarkerilla, i:n jätin osittain valkoiseksi, että näyttäisi siltä, että hemmo ei ole sitä vielä ehtinyt spreijata. Tuo hemmo on DoodleFactorya ja ProMarkereilla väritetty. Taustapaperiin leimasin muutaman Hero Artsin läiskän ja pariin kohtaan lisäsin pieniä niittejä.

One of my nephews has his birthday coming up soon and for the second time this year, I actually have the birthday cards ready well in advance (this is becoming a habit... ;) ). As usual, I made three cards, one from us, one for his grandparents to give to him and one for his greatgrandmother to give. This is one of the cards celebrating his 8th birthday. I made the 'wall' by taping some washi tapes on a piece of cardstock. The stamped dude is by DoodleFactory and I coloured him with ProMarkers. He is spraying letters that I die cut with Memory Box dies ('Classic Lower Alphabet'). For the background I just stamped a Hero Arts ink blot stamp a few times on patterned paper and added some tiny staples.

Kutsu - Invitation

Sain pyynnön tehdä kutsukortit pienen pojan ristiäisiin ja tulevien juhlien sankarin äidin kanssa päädyimme tällä mallilla toteutettaviin kutsuihin. Väritoiveista tärkein taisi olla vauvansinisen välttäminen, mikä passasi minulle varsin hyvin :) Päädyin lopulta alla oleviin kolmeen väri"settiin" ja tein yhdestä värisetistä aina useamman kortin. Stanssasin näihin kaikki ympyrät My Favorite Thingsin stansseilla ja pienet sydämet Simon Says Stampin stanssilla. Leimakuva on DoodleFactorya Distress Markereilla ja Inkeillä väritettyinä. Kutsu-sanan leimasin Paper Smoochesin Alphadot-aakkosilla ja embossasin ruskealla. Sekä leimakuva että tuo 'banneri' on kiinnitetty hieman koholle tarrapaloilla. Sydämiä korostamaan lisäsin valkoista enamel accentsia.

I was asked to make invitations for a christening of a little baby boy and after pondering it for a while, the baby's mother and I decided on me making the cards similar to these. As for colours, the main thing was to avoid baby blue which suited me fine :) I chose the sets of colours you see in the piccies and made a few cards from each set. I die cut all the circles with My Favorite Things dies and the hearts with a Simon Says Stamp die. The stamped image is by DoodleFactory, I coloured them with Distress Markers and Inks and fussy cut them. I stamped the word 'kutsu' (meaning 'invitation' in Finnish) with Paper Smooches Alphadot stamps and heat embossed with brown powder. I attached the stamped image and the banners with foam adhesives so they're a bit raised from the cardbase. As a final touch, I added a bit of white Enamel Accents to the hearts.

Vauvaonnittelut - Congrats on your baby

Tein toisen kortin korttileirin kakkosviikon luonnoksen mukaan. Luonnoksia on yhteensä kolme/viikko ja tähän valikoitui ympyräluonnos. Saattaa olla, että tämä on ensimmäinen kerta, kun teen ympyränmuotoisen kortin (ainakin muistaakseni) ja ihan hauskahan tästä tuli. Stanssasin korttipohjan isoimmalla ympyrästanssillani mutta silti siitä tuli melko pieni, n. 9,5 cm läpimitaltaan, joten ajattelin tehdä siitä vauvakortin. Käytin kortissa lisäksi annettuja värejä (tummempaa ja vaaleampaa vihreää, vaaleansinistä, tummanruskeaa ja kermaa) ja kortista tuli enemmänkin pojalle sopiva. Paperit tässä on pääosin October Afternoonia ja leimakuva on DoodleFactoryn suloinen Beebo Distress Markereilla väritettynä. Luonnoksesta vielä sen verran, että muutin sitä aavistuksen: lisäsin yhden ympyrän (tarvitsin kahden kuviopaperin väliin yksivärisen ympyrän) ja vaihdoin luonnoksessa olleen narun+rusetin tuohon leimakuvaan, muuten menin kiltisti luonnoksen mukaan :)

Another card for the Summer Card Camp 2. This time I followed a sketch for a round card and I think this might be a first time that I've ever made a round card (if my memory serves me right). I die cut the card base with my largest circle die but it was still kind of small, only about 9,5 centimetres in diameter, so I thought it would be fun for a babycard. I also used the colours of the week 2 (two shades of green, pale blue, dark brown and cream) so it turned out to be a card for a baby boy. I changed the sketch slightly to suit my card: I added one more circle (I needed a solid colour between two patterned papers) and I switched a twine for the stamped image, but otherwise I was a good girl and followed the sketch :) The papers I used are mainly by October Afternoon and the stamped image is 'Beebo' by DoodleFactory coloured with Distress Markers. The sentiment says 'congratulations on your baby'.

Veljenpojalle - For my nephew

Tässä taas näytille veljenpojalle menneitä synttärikortteja. Meidän antamamme kortin bloggasin jo aikaisemmin (klikklik), nämä kortit menivät 10 vuotta täyttäneelle pojalle isovanhempien ja isoisoäidin kautta. Veljenpoikani on onneksi sen verran huumorintajuinen, että uskalsin hänelle tehdä kortin tällä Doodlen kissalla, joka ei ehkä ihan kaikkien korttiin sopisi. Kattimattisen väritin ProMarkereilla, tekstin leimasin Papertrey Inkin aakkosilla. Sitten vain leimakuvan kiinnitys mustalle kartongille ja tarrapaloilla korttipohjaan ja lisäksi pari mustaa timanttia.

Here's another batch of birthday cards made for one of my nephews. I've already blogged the card we gave to him (see it here), these cards were given to him by his grandparents and his greatgrandma. My nephew, who turned 10, has a good sense of humour so I thought I could make a card with this DoodleFactory cat for him - this cat is perhaps not for everyone's taste... ;) I coloured the cat with ProMarkers and stamped the sentiment (goes something like 'hey dude, congrats') with Papertrey Ink alphabet stamps. Then I mounted the stamped image on black cardstock, attached it to card base with foam adhesives and added a couple of black rhinestones.

Seuraavakin kortti on melko CAS mutta ajattelin sen sopivan 'miehiseen makuun' :) Tätä varten embossasin valkoisella kohojauheella tuon Wycinankan tähden mustalle kartogille ja leikkasin irti. Tähden keskustaan laitoin pienen chipboard-tähden, jonka olin päällystänyt valkoisella enamel accentsilla. Raidat korttipohjaan tuli washiteipeistä ja mustat pisteet mustasta enamel accentsista.

The next card is quite CAS as well but I thought it might be to the liking of a young gentleman :) I heat embossed the star stamp (by Wycinanka) with white embossing powder on black cardstock and cut it out. I then attached a tiny chipboard star in the middle of it, I had coated the star with white enamel accents. I created the stripes with washi tapes, attached the star with foam adhesives and added the black dots with black enamel accents.

Yksi veljenpojistani aloitti koulun tänä syksynä ja tapamme mukaan annoimme hänelle pienen koulunaloittajaislahjan (eihän kyniä ja kumeja voi koskaan olla liikaa? ;) ). Lahjan kylkeen tein pienen, simppelin tagin. Pohjan suihkin parilla eriDylusions ink sprayllä ja laitoin hieman soft gel mediumia (onko sille suomenkielistä nimeä..??) sapluunan avulla. Leimat ovat kaikki DoodleFactorya, paitsi tuo koulu-teksti, jonka leimailin Papertrey Inkin aakkosilla. Lisänä hieman washi-teippiä, pikkuniittejä ja narua. Niin, ja tähtitarra Snarglen rintamuksessa - kyllähän nyt jokainen pieni koululainen tähden rintaansa ansaitsee :)

One of my nephews started school this autumn and as usual, we gave him a little present to mark the occasion (one can never have too many cool pencils or erasers, right? ;) ) and I made this simple little tag to go with it. I used some Dylusions ink sprays and some soft gel medium to make the background and then stamped and coloured some DoodleFactory images to be the focal points. The text on the sign says 'school' and is stamped with Papertrey Ink alphabets. As embellies there's some washi tape, mini staples and some twine. And that's pretty much it - simples, right? ;)

Apinoita, ritareita ja robotteja - Monkeys, knights and robots

Tässä näytille tämän kevään viimeinen veljenpojalle mennyt synttärikorttitrio. Tuntuu, että kun samalle keväälle tekee 9 poikakorttia, alkaa ideat pikkuhiljaa huveta - varsinkin, kun niitä värkkää aina niistä samoista leimasimista. Pitäisiköhän laittaa muutama pojalle sopiva leimasin hankintalistalle...? Ja ehkä väriskaalaakin pitäisi hieman laajentaa - kaikki tämän kevään poikakortit ovat olleet varsin sinivihreäsävyisiä ;D Mutta kuitenkin, tähän ensimmäiseen käytin Nina Åslundin ihanaa apinaleimaa, jonka väritin ProMarkereilla. Taustalla on osa Hero Artsin Crossword Backgroundia, sen päällä 'lappusessa' on tekstileima Taitopuoti Paperinauhan leimalla ja tausta siihen on leimattu Hero Artsin Graph Backgroundilla. Lappusen reuna on leikattu EK Successin leikkurilla ja koristeeksi koko komeuteen laitoin vielä tähtiklemmarin. Taustapaperi taisi olla October Afternoonia, mikäli oikein muistan.

And again, here comes a trio of birthday cards that went to my nephew who turned 5 earlier this month. I feel like I started to run out of ideas for cards for boys, given that this spring I've made 9 of them within a couple of months time. What makes matters worse is that I seem to use the same stamps over and over again - I guess I should buy me some boy stamp, whaddaya think? And maybe I should expand my colour palette, too - all the boy cards this spring have been in the same greenish blue colour... ;D But anyways, for this first card I used this funny monkey designed by Nina Åslund, I coloured it with ProMarkers. I stamped the crossword in the background with Hero Arts Crossword Background and added a star-shaped paperclip to it. I made the little notepaper by punching a piece of paper with an EK Success punch, stamping the background with Hero Arts Graph Background and adding the sentiment. The background paper is by October Afternoon, if I remember correctly ;)

Toisen kortin tein DoodleFactoryn leimoilla, tässä on Blip-robotti ja kulkuvälineensä avaruusraketti, myös aitaleimasin on DoodleFactorya. Kaikki on väritetty ProMarkereilla ja raketin ikkunassa ja Blipin mahassa on paksu kerros glossya. Teksti dymotetty ja paperit (muistaakseni...) October Afternoonia.

The second card is a bit space themed as I used Blip the robot and his space rocket for it, both are by the DoodleFactory as is the fence stamp. All coloured with ProMarkers. The rocket's window and Blip's belly have a thick coating of Glossy Accents on them. The papers are by October Afternoon (methinks... ;) ) and the sentiment, which I made with my Dymo machine, says something like 'congrats Earthling'.

Viimeinenkin kortti on luotettavaa DoodleFactory-linjaa, tässä on Sir Silimus ja ratsunsa Favius, molemmat väritetty niinikään ProMarkereilla. Taustan puupaperi on Echo Parkia, vihreään kartonkiin leimasin Hero Artsin Envelope Patternilla ja lisäsin hieman washiteippiä, ettei ritari ratsuineen leijuisi ihan ilmassa. Tekstileima on Merjan ja Pammun setistä ja paperibanneri on ihan itse värkätty.

I made the third card with my trusty old DoodleFactory stamps as well, this one features Sir Silimus and his horse Favius, both coloured with ProMarkers. I stamped the green cardstock with Hero Arts Envelope Pattern stamp and added some washi tape to it to prevent the knight and his horse from looking like they're floating on air ;) I made the banner from basic cardstock and stamped the sentiment ('congrats') to it. The background paper is by Echo Park.

Keväiset veljenpojat on nyt sitten juhlittu, syksyllä juhlitaan vielä yhtä veljenpoikaa - toivottavasti sitä ennen saan uusia ideoita poikakortteihin... Kesäkuu - June

Kesäkuuta mennään jo hurjaa vauhtia ja vasta nyt sain kalenterisivuni valmiiksi. Jotenkin se kuukauden vaihtuminen pääsee aina yllättämään.... ;) No, kysehän on kuitenkin Kate Cranen kalenterihaasteesta ja mukana ollaan, edelleen. En tiedä, oliko tälle(kään) sivulle sen kummempaa lähtöideaa kuin nuo keltaiset pallukat - olimme nimittäin toissapäivänä kävelyllä ja tuntui, että joka paikassa oli aivan mielettömän paljon ihania keltaisia voikukkia (niin, joidenkin mielestä roskakukkia, minun mielestäni kauniita...) ja halusin mahduttaa ne sivuuni jotenkin. Tätä sivua tehdessä minulla soi päässä koko ajan The Doorsin Love Street, joten ehkä se on sitten vaikuttanut sivuun muuten, mene ja tiedä :)

June seems to be racing by fast and I've only just finished my June page - oops! How come the turn of the month always comes so unexpectedly... ;) Well anyway, this is my June page for the calendar challenge hosted by the lovely Kate Crane. I don't know if I had any great idea for this page, except dandelions :) We went for a walk the other day and there were the gorgeous yellow faces of dandelions everywhere and I wanted to capture those somehow, hence the yellow circles for journaling. While I was making this page, I had 'Love Street' by The Doors playing in my head all the time, so maybe that influenced my page, too :)

Majavia, poikia ja herrasmiehiä - Beavers, boys, and gentlemen

Hmm, siitä taitaa olla jo pari viikkoa, kun ylipäätään postasin mitään ja vieläkin enemmän siitä, kun postasin jotain askarteluun liittyvää... Aika tuntuu hurjastelevan nyt siihen malliin, etten ehdi kuin kääntyä ja pari viikkoa katoaa (tai sitten alan vain todella h-i-d-a-s-t-u-a... ;D ). Jonkin verran olen ehtinyt askarrella, lähinnä "pakollisia" synttärikortteja ja vastaavia, mutta blogeissakaan en ole ehtinyt pahemmin kierrellä, joten jos en ole käynyt kommentoimassa, älä hermostu, kyl mää vielä joskus! ;) Viimeistään sitten, kun tuon ihan alusta asti aloitetun puutarhan saa jonkinlaiseen kuntoon... Vielä puuttuu nurmikkoa ja kasvia ja keinua mutta eiköhän se siitä pikkuhiljaa ;)

Well, I think it's been a couple of weeks since I posted anything here and even more since I posted anything crafty - oops! It seems that time is running so fast these days that I blink and two weeks are gone (either that or I'm getting just r-e-a-l-l-y s-l-o-w...;) ). I have managed to craft a bit, mainly some birthday cards and such that I had to make but I haven't really had time to blog hop either but hopefully I'll get there eventually. Perhaps when our garden (which we have started from scratch this year) is looking a bit better... It still needs a lawn (!), some plants and at least a swing set and a sandbox for our sweet boy, hopefully we'll get it all done soon.

Mutta asiaan. Läväytän nyt näytille kokonaista kolme korttia, kaikki tehty 9 vuotta täyttäneelle veljenpojalleni, yksi kortti on taas isoisoäidiltään, yksi isovanhemmiltaan ja yksi meiltä. Ensimmäiseen korttiin tein taustan embossaamalla Impression Obsessionin taustaleiman mustalla ja sutimalla Distress Stainia päälle. Ratasta "ruostutin" hieman DI:llä ja embossausjauheella ja leimakuvan (Kraftin' Kimmien hurmaava Chester) väritin niinikään DI:llä. Sitten vain tekstileimaa kehiin ja koristeiksi ruuveja ja filminauhaa.

I'll stop waffling now and show you three cards I made for my nephew who turned 9. His greatgrandmother gave him one of these cards, his grandparents gave one and we gave one, so that's why I made three ;) I made the background for this first one by heat embossing an Impression Obsession background stamp with black powder and applying some blue Distress Stain on top. I coloured the stamped image (the dashing Chester by Kraftin' Kimmie) with DIs, and 'rusted' the gear behind him with DIs and some embossing powder. The sentiment says (freely translated), 'To the smashing guy'. As embellies there are only a couple of screw brads and some Tim Holtz film strip ribbon.

Toisen kortin taustapaperiin lisäilin hieman DI:ä Crafter's Workshopin sapluunan läpi ja teippailin hieman "vauhtiviivoja". Poikaleima on Nina Åslundin, väritin sen ProMarkereilla ja lisäsin silmiin hieman glossya. Tähtileima on Artistic Stamperin ja tekstileima on Taitopuoti Paperinauhan setistä. Lisänä muutama pikkuniitti.

The background paper in this second card was a plain one so I decided to add some DI through a Crafter's Workshop stencil to it. I also added a few strips of washi tapes. The boy stamp is by Nina Åslund, I coloured it with ProMarkers and added some Glossy Accents to his eyes. The stars stamp is by Artistic Stamper and the sentiment says basically 'Congrats'. To finish the card off, I added some tiny staples to the corners.

Viimeisessä kortissa onkin sitten majava uikkareissa... :) Leimakuva on siis DoodleFactoryn Belvedere, ProMarkereilla väritetty ja uikkarit ja silmät glossytetty. Viirit on FinnStamperin leima, embossattu valkoisella. Tähdet on leikattu pienellä Fiskarsin leikkurilla ja numero 9 on washiteippipäällysteistä kartonkia, Holtzin stanssilla stanssattu. Tekstileima on niinikään Taitopuoti Paperinauhan setistä, pilkkupaperi Echo Parkia ja kartongin reunoissa valkoista crackle paintia (idea SannaS:ltä :) ). Lisänä vielä vähän washiteippiä.

The last card features a beaver in his swimming trunks... :) The stamped image is Belvedere by DoodleFactory, I coloured him with ProMarkers and added some Glossy Accents to his swimming trunks and eyes. The little flags are heat embossed with white embossing powder and 'attached' with brads, the stamp is by FinnStamper. The number 9 is die cut from cardboard covered with washi tape with a Tim Holtz die. As other embellies there are stars punched with a Fiskars punch and some dotty washi tape. The dotty paper is by Echo Park, I added some white Distress Crackle Paint to the edges of the cardboard square in the middle (idea came from SannaS).

Kukkuu! - Peek-a-boo!

Maailman ihanimman mussukan synttärijuhlat olivat eilen (itse päivä oli aikaisemmin viikolla mutta eilen oli kemujen aika :) ) ja synttärisankari oli suorastaan hurmaantunut menosta, vieraista ja lahjoista. Lahjan annoimme hänelle jo oikeana syntymäpäivänä mutta kortin annoimme eilen, ja tällainen se oli. Idea ja inspiraatio tähän tuli SannaS:n ihanasta kukkuu-kortista, meidän poika kun tykkää 'kukkuilla' niin tämä sopi hänelle kuin nenä päähän ;) Paperi tässä on October Afternoonia (muistaakseni...) ja kartongit ColorCorea, numerot ja kirjaimet stanssattu taas Holtzin stanssilla. Luukun kiinnitin washi-teipillä ja sen avaus- ja sulkusysteemi muodostuu napista, eyeletista ja vanhasta kirjanmerkistä pelastetusta narusta.

Our cutie had his birthday party yesterday (the actual birthday was earlier last week but the party itself was held yesterday) and the birthday boy was almost overwhelmed with everything that was going on, the guests and the gifts and everything :) We gave our gift to him on the actual day but somehow the card wasn't given until yesterday... The idea for this card came from the talented SannaS and her gorgeous peek-a-boo card, our son loves to peek-a-boo so this was the perfect card for him :) The paper I used for this is by October Afternoon (if my memory serves me right...) and the cardstocks are by ColorCore. The number and letters I die cut with a Tim Holtz die ('kukkuu' means 'peek-a-boo' in Finnish). I attached the yellow cardstock with some washi tape and it can be closed with a string I salvaged from an old bookmark, and a button.

Luukun sisältä paljastuu kaksi DoodleFactoryn norsua (poika rakastaa norsuja :) ), pieni tähti ja teksti FinnStamperin leimalla leimattuna. Kukkuu! :)

When you open the 'door', you'll see two elephants by DoodleFactory, a star brad and the sentiment (which means something like 'happiness/congrats and joy'). Peek-a-boo!!! :)

Synttärikettu - Fargo the fox

Tämä on veljenpoikani korttitrion viimeinen kortti. Tämän synttärisankarille antoi hänen 92-vuotias isoisoäitinsä, joten kortti on hieman muita kortteja "söpömpi" - isoisoäidit ja esim. Stampotiquet eivät mielestäni oikein käy yksiin... ;D Tähän korttiin valikoitui siis DoodleFactoryn Fargo-kettu, jonka väritin ProMarkereilla. Paperit ovat October Afternoonia ja koristeena on washiteippilippunauhaa (hurraa suomi ja yhdyssanat..! ;) ) ja stanssattua tähteä. Onnea-tekstin leimailin Artemion aakkosilla.

This is the last of the three cards I made for my nephew on his 11th birthday. This was given to him by his 92-year-old greatgrandmother so it's a bit cuter than the other two cards (which you can see here and here) - somehow I don't think that greatgrandmothers and e.g. Stampotique stamps go together that well.... ;D The stamped image is Fargo the Fox by DoodleFactory, I coloured him with ProMarkers. The papers are by October Afternoon and the little flags I made of washi tape. I die cut the star with a Spellbinders die. The sentiment says 'congrats' and I stamped it with alphabet stamps by Artemio.
