Father's Day

It's Father's Day in Finland today and here's the card I made for my Dad. Somehow clean-and-simple always seems the best way to go with masculine cards and it's what I chose to do here.

I used products from Concord&9th, the stamp set is called Give Thanks and the die set Layering Leaves. I first stamped the images in different shades of blue (Distress Oxide inks in Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire) on a panel that I had die cut with a die from the Border Collection set by Penny Black. After the images had dried, I heat embossed the lines on the wheat. I then die cut the leaf that is on top of the middle image, and heat embossed it, too, before adhering it on top of the leaf. The sentiment on the little banner is heat embossed as well and it says 'To Dad'. I adhered the panel with foam adhesives on top of a panel that I had ink blended with Distress Oxide inks in Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. For embellishments, I used some silver gems.

Peaceful Christmas Time - Rauhaisaa Joulunaikaa

Now I know this is not a Christmas stamp per se and I didn't even use traditional Christmas colours to colour it but still I decided to make a Christmas card with it. The stamp I used is Grateful for Everything by Concord&9th and I coloured it with my watercolours before sponging the edges with some Distress Oxide ink and adding splatters of gold to it. I then stamped my sentiment (it says 'Peaceful Christmas Time') and matted the panel onto dark brown cardstock before tying a bit of twine around it. Lastly, I adhered the matted panel onto my cardbase.

Tämä leimasin ei varsinaisesti ole joululeimasin eivätkä väritkään jouluväreihin mene, mutta tein tästä silti joulukortin :) Leimakuva on Concord&9th:n Grateful for Everything ja väritin sen vesiväreillä, mustetin paneelin reunat Distress Oxide -musteella ja roiskin päälle kultaa. Sitten vain tekstileima, kerrostus tummanruskealle kartongille, nyöriä rusetille ja korttipohjaan kiinni. 

Inkspirational Challenges: Guest Designer

I have the honour of being a Guest Designer over at Inkspirational Challenges for the month of June. Thanks so very much, ladies, for having me! The first challenge of the month starts now and it is a photo challenge, please see the inspiration photo below.

I was totally inspired by the bold areas of colour against white in her clothes and started from there. I used stamps by Concord & 9th called Wildflower and first stamped the backside of the floral stamp with different coloured inks and then turned the stamp and stamped the black outlines with the right side of the stamp. I then die cut the panel with a die from the Penny Black set called Stitched Nested Frames. I die cut the sentiment with a Winnie & Walter die and stacked a few of them on top of each other to make the sentiment a bit more prominent. And if, by any chance, you're wondering why I have used gray ink in my card, the reason is that I first looked at the inspiration photo on my phone and saw one of the colours as gray. It was only when I uploaded the inspiration photo on my blog that I noticed it is not gray but light blue! Oops! But I think gray goes well with those bold colours too ;)

Minulla on kunnia olla guest designer Inkspirational Challenges -haasteessa kesäkuun ajan. Ensimmäinen haaste alkaa nyt ja se on kuvahaaste, kuva yllä. Itse inspiroiduin noista väriblokeista valkoisella pohjalla ja päätin käyttää niitä kortissani. Käytin Concord & 9th:n Wildflower-leimoja, leimasin ensin värillisellä musteella käyttäen leiman takapuolta ja sitten käänsin leiman oikein päin ja leimasin mustalla ääriviivat. Paneelin stanssasin Penny Blackin Stitched Nested Frames -setin stanssilla. Teksti puolestaan on Winnie & Walterin, stanssasin niitä muutaman ja kiinnitin päällekkäin. Vahingossa käytin kortissa myös harmaata... Katsoin inspiraatiokuvaa aluksi puhelimelta ja näin yhden värin harmaana. Vasta, kun latasin kuvan blogiini, huomasin, että se onkin vaaleansininen! Noh, harmaa taitaa sopia noihin väreihin myös... ;)

Graduation card - Ylioppilaalle

I have a made to order card to share. I was asked to make a graduation card for a young lady graduating from Finnish sixth form college using this exact stamp and lots of rose pink. So here it is! The stamp is Curvy Girl with a Heart Wreath by Stamping Bella, I coloured it with my Copics and die cut it out. The frame is die cut using Stitched Stackers dies by Penny Black. For the background, I used patterned papers by Lili of the Valley. I stamped my sentiment on a strip of vellum using Concord&9th alphabet stamps (it says 'Congrats Siiri!' in Finnish) and placed it behind the frame. After adhering everything together, I embellished the card with a few clear sequins. Now I just hope Siiri will like her card :)

Tämän kortin tein tilaustyönä. Minulta tilattiin valmistujaiskortti tulevalle ylioppilaalle tällä leimalla ja roosalla värillä. Leima on Stamping Bellan Curvy Girl with a Heart Wreath, väritin leimakuvan Copiceilla ja stanssasin irti. Kehykset stanssasin Penny Blackin Stitched Stackers -stansseilla. Kuviopaperit ovat Lili of the Valley'ä. Tekstin leimasin Concord&9th:n aakkosilla vellumvyötteelle ja kiinnitin kehyksen taakse. Kun kaikki oli paikoillaan, koristelin kortin kirkkailla paljeteilla. Ja nyt vain toivon, että Siiri pitää kortistaan :)

Kukkaset - Flowers

Color Throwdown -haasteessa oli sen verran näpsäkät värit, että innostuin tekemään niillä kortin. Ja kun kerran tein, tein toisen samaan syssyyn eri väreillä :) Leimat ovat Altenew'n Billowing Blossoms -setistä ja musteet Simon Says Stampin ja Hero Artsin. Tekstin leimailin Concord&9th:n aakkosleimoilla.

Color Throwdown challenge has such yummy colours this week that I wanted to make a card with them. And while I was at it, I made another one with different colours :) The stamps come from the 'Billowing Blossoms' set by Altenew and the inks I used are by Simon Says Stamp and Hero Arts. I stamped the sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) with the letters from 'Perfectly Penned' set by Concord&9th.

Haasteita kerrakseen - Challenges, challenges

Päätimme ihanan ystäväni Nonnin kanssa haastaa itsemme ja tehdä kortit leimalla, joka molemmilla on. Yhteiseksi leimaksi valikoitui Concord&9th:n Hello Lovely. Lisäksi päätin itse vielä haastaa itseni käyttämään muita värejä kuin pinkkiä. Haastetta siis riitti mutta tällainen kortti syntyi. Väritin tämän Zigeillä ja lisäisin vähän valkoista geelikynää kukkiin. Paneelin stanssasin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla. Tekstileiman embossasin valkoisella MFT:n stanssilla stanssattuun banneriin ja kiinnitin sen kohotarroilla.  Lopuksi vain paneeli kiinni korttipohjaan.

My lovely friend Nonni and I decide to challenge ourselves and make a card with a stamp set that we both have. One of such sets is 'Hello Lovely' by Concord&9th and that is what we decided to use. I personally challenged myself further: to use anything but pink in my flowers... This is what I came up with. I coloured the image with my Zig Markers and added a bit of white gel pen to the flowers. I die cut the panel with a My Favorite Things die and heat embossed my sentiment in white on a banner die cut with a MFT die. Then I simply attached my panel to a dark grey card base.

The Flower Challenge #27

Taas on uuden haasteen aika The Flower Challengessa! Tällä kertaa kannattaa pyyhkiä pölyt vanhimmista leimoista tai stansseista ja käyttää niitä, sillä se on aiheena haasteessa #27 - muistathan käyttää kukkaleimaa tai -stanssia!. Käytin omassa kortissani yhtä leimaa Hero Artsin Peeking Posies -setistä ja väritin sen Zigeillä. Tekstin leimasin Concord&9th:n aakkosleimoilla ja paneelin stanssasin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla. Paneelin kiinnitin liilaan korttipohjaan.

It's time for a new challenge over at The Flower Challenge! Please dust off your oldies but goldies stamps and dies as the theme is 'Use an older stamp or die'. So please dig for your older and perhaps forgotten goodies and let us see what you can make with them - and remember to use a floral stamp/die! I used a stamp from the Hero Arts set 'Peeking Posies' for my card. I coloured the image with my Zig Markers, stamped the sentiment with alphabet stamps by Concord&9th (the sentiment says 'Congrats!') and die cut the panel with a die by My Favorite Things. Then I simply adhered the panel to the card blank.

Vaaleanpunainen ruusu - Pink rose

Tämä Concord&9th:in ruusu on kyllä sitten ihana! Kyseessä on siis Painted Rose -leima, väritin leimakuvan Zigeillä ja stanssasin irti. Ruusu itsessään on niin iso ja näyttävä, että kovin paljoa en taustalle laittanut, vain vähän kuviopaperia, Penny Blackin Ribbon Stackers -stanssilla stanssatun kehyksen, tekstileiman ja jokusen paljetin.

I love this rose by Concord&9th! This gorgeousness is called 'Painted Rose'. I coloured it with my Zig Markers and die cut it out. I wanted the rose to take center stage so I didn't add much else there, just a bit of patterned paper, a frame die cut with Penny Black's 'Ribbon Stackers' die, stamped sentiment (it says something like 'Congratulating you' in Finnish), and some sequins.

The Flower Challenge!

Tänään minulla on iloisia uutisia - sain nimittäin kunnian liittyä The Flower Challengen Design Teamiin! Olen aivan innoissani tästä, sillä mikäpä olisi minulle parempi haasteblogi kuin kukkahaaste :) Kiitos Viville ja Aileenille tästä mahdollisuudesta ja koko Design Teamille lämpimästä vastaanotosta!

Syyskuussa The Flower Challengessä on mukavan helppo aihe, Anything Goes. Aihe on siis vapaa, kunhan siinä on keskiössä kukka tai useampi. Nyt kannattaa osallistua, sillä meillä on myös palkinto voittajalle - $25:n lahjakortti CAS-ual Fridays Stampsiin.

Käytin kortissani Concord&9thin Painted Rose -leimaa, jonka väritin Polychromoksilla. Taustalle leimasin Hero Artsin ikivanhalla taustaleimalla ja Altenew'n harmaalla musteella suorakaiteen ja tekstileimana käytin Heidin Korttipajan leimaa. Kiinnitin ruusun kohotarroilla, mutta ennen sitä roiskin taustalle hieman kultasuihketta. Lopuksi kiinnitin muutaman kultaisen enamel dotsin koristeeksi.

I have some happy news to share today - I have the huge honour of joining the Design Team over at The Flower Challenge! I am beyond thrilled about this, I love creating with flower stamps so to be able to join The Flower Challenge is just a dream come true. I want to thank Viv and Aileen for this opportunity and the whole Design Team for the warm welcome! :)

But now onto the challenge. We have a nice and easy challenge for September with the theme of Anything Goes. So create whatever your heart desires as long as you use a flower motif. And please do consider joining us as we have a prize for the winner of the September challenge - a gift card of $25 to CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.

For my first DT card, I used the gorgeous 'Painted Rose' stamp by Concord&9th which I coloured with my Polychromos coloured pencils. For the background I used an old Hero Arts background stamp and some grey Altenew ink. The sentiment stamp is in Finnish and it says 'Congratulating you'. Before adhering my flower with some foam adhesives, I added a few splatters of gold spray with my watercolour brush and as finishing touches I used a few golden enamel dots.

Simppeli kiitoskortti syntyi Lawn Fawnin Blue Skies -setin kuumailmapallolla. Väritin sen Polychromoksilla ja laitoin sen tarrapaloilla taustaan kiinni. Taustaan tein vesiväreillä suorakulmion, roiskin siveltimellä hieman Distress Stainiä päälle ja leimasin tekstin Concord&9thin Painted Rose -setin leimalla. Koko paneelin stanssasin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja kiinnitin harmaaseen korttipohjaan. Koristeeksi vielä yksi Lawn Fawnin stanssilla stanssattu sydän.

I made this simple thank you card with the hot air balloon from Lawn Fawn's 'Blue Skies' set. I coloured it with my Polychromos pencils, die cut it out and attached it with foam adhesives. I made the background with watercolours, added some splatters with my watercolour brush using Distress Stains and stamped the sentiment from 'Painted Rose' set by Concord&9th. I die cut the whole panel with a My Favorite Things die and attached it to dark grey card base. To finish the card, I added one single heart die cut with a Lawn Fawn die.

Synttärityttö - Birthday girl

Ihanalla ystävällä oli synttärit tässä hetki sitten ja tällainen kortti lähti hänelle. Typynen kortissa on Stamping Bellan Altogetherevelyn, jonka väritin Zigeillä. Tekstin leimailin Concord&9th:n aakkosleimoilla ja koko paneelin stanssasin Penny Blackin stansseilla. Muutama roiske perään ja Martha Stewartin leikkurilla leikattu perhonen koristeeksi ja korttipohjaan kiinni.

A sweet friend of mine had her birthday last week and I made her this birthday card. The stamped image is 'Altogetherevelyn' by Stamping Bella, and I coloured her with my Zig Markers. I stamped the sentiment (it says 'Congrats' in Finnish) with the 'Bold and Brushy Lowercase' alphabet stamps by Concord&9th and die cut the panel with Penny Black's 'Stitched Stackers' die. I added a few splatters with my watercolour brush (I used both Distress Stain and Sheer Shimmer Spritz for the splatters) and added a little butterfly to embellish the card before adhering the panel to the card base.

Flower Challenge -muistutus - The Flower Challenge reminder

Nyt on aika muistutella The Flower Challengesin haasteesta, jossa minulla on kunnia olla vieraana. Aihe on siis one layer card, ei kerroksia, ei liimattavia koristeita, vain yhden tason kortti kukka-aiheella. Tein omani Concord and 9th:n Lily-leimalla, jonka leimasin suoraan neliökorttipohjaan. Tekstileima on samasta setistä. Leimaamisen jälkeen maskasin korttipohjaan neliön, jonka reunoja mustetin Distress Oxidella.

It's time to remind you of the current challenge over at The Flower Challenge where I have the honour of being the Guest Designer this month. The theme is One Layer Card, so no additional layers, just stamping on the card base. And remember to use a flower image. I made my card using the 'Lily' stamp by Concord & 9th, I stamped it straight to the card base as I did the sentiment too. After stamping, I masked a square on to the card base and sponged some Distress Ink to the edges. And that's it, a simple one layer card!

Heippa ihana - Hello lovely

Tämän kortin tein The Tonin ihanalla Morning Glory Border -leimalla, jonka väritin Copiceilla. Teksti on Concord & 9th:n. Kiinnitys vaaleanpunaisella korttipohjalle. Paljon muuta kortissa ei olekaan! Ajattelin, että kun tuo leimakuva itsessään on niin runsas, niin muuten kortissa ei tarvitse paljoa olla.

I've quite a CAS flower card to show you again. The stamp I used is gorgeous, it's by The Ton and called 'Morning Glory Border Stamp'. I coloured the image with my Copics. The sentiment is by Concord & 9th. I adhered the panel to a pink card base but decided to not add anything else to it, as the stamped image is as gorgeous as it is visually full so it can carry the card without needing any help from embellishments.

Vähänkö oot rakas - Love you lots

I stamped this image while visiting my dear crafty friend, it's from the set 'You Are Here' by Concord&9th. I coloured the image with my Zig Markers. The sentiment comes from Mama Elephant and the background stamp on the card base is by My Favorite Things. I die cut the panel with a Penny Black die. I added a few sequins (again..) as my final touches.

Onnea - Congrats

Tähän synttärikorttiin käytin leimoja kahdesta Winnie&Walterin setistä, Elsa's Florasta ja Addie's Gardenista. Maskasin kukat ja lehdet kartongille ja väritin Zigeillä. Tekstin leimailin Concord&9thin Perfectly Penned -setin aakkosilla. Stanssasin paneelin MFT:n stanssilla ja kiinnitin korttipohjaan. Lopuksi vain vähän nyöriä rusetille.

I combined two Winnie&Walter sets to make this birthday card, namely 'Elsa's Flora' and 'Addie's Garden'. I masked the flowers an the leaves to my panel which I had die cut with an MFT die. I did my colouring once again with my Zig Markers. The sentiment ('Congrats!' in Finnish) is stamped with the Concord&9th alphabet set 'Perfectly Penned'. I then attached my panel to the card base and added a bit of string in a bow.

Perhonen - Butterfly

Tämän kortin tein kahteen haasteeseen: Time Out Challengesissä on synttärit ja DT käyttää Concord & 9th:n tuotteita ja Where Creativity Meets C9 -haasteessa on luonnos. Stanssasin harmaalle kartongille nuo viivat My Favorite Thingsin Stitched Strip -stanssilla. Sen päälle kiinnitin perhosen (Concord & 9th:n Floral and Flutter -stanssilla stanssattu) ja perhosen massuun timantin. Tekstin muodostin Concord & 9:n Perfectly Penned -setin aakkosilla. Sitten vain kiinnitys valkoiseen korttipohjaan.

I made this card specifically for two challenges: Time Out Challenges is celebrating their 4th birthday and using Concord & 9th products to do it and at Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge there is a sketch (see the challenge graphic below). So I die cut a piece of grey cardstock and then die cut the stitched lines across it with My Favorite Things' 'Stitched Strip' die. I die cut the butterfly with the Concord & 9th die 'Floral and Flutter' and attached it. I even added a rhinestone to its belly :) The sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) is spelled with alphabets from the 'Perfectly Penned' set by Concord & 9th. I used white cardbase to retain the light and airy feel of the card.

Ja taas kukkakortti! :D Tämän tein Concord&9th:n leimalla Hello Lovely. Väritin sen Zigeillä ja stanssasin paneelin Penny Blackin stanssilla. Tekstileima on Mama Elephantin. Harvoin käytän korteissa mustaa korttipohjaa, mutta tässä käytin, kun ajattelin, että se korostaisi kukkia kauniisti.

It's another flower card from me :D I made this using the flower stamp from 'Hello Lovely' stamp set by Concord&9th. I coloured it with my Zig markers and die cut the panel with a Penny Black die. The sentiment comes from the 'Organic Blooms' set by Mama Elephant. I very rarely use black card blank but this time decided to do so as I thought it brought out the flowers beautifully.

Minä sinua vain - I Love You

Tällaisen ystävänpäiväkortin tein miehelleni. My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla stanssattuun paneeliin leimasin Concord&9th:n Lacy Leaf -setin leimalla "taustan", johon puolestaan leimasin tekstin Simon Says Stampin setistä Sail Away. Koristeeksi riitti yksi sydän (stanssattu Lawn Fawnin stanssilla). Sitten vain korttipohjaan kiinni. Simppeli linja jatkuu :D

I made this Valentine's Day card for my husband. I die cut the white panel with a My Favorite Things die and stamped the background with a stamp from the 'Lacy Leaf' set by Concord&9th. I then stamped my sentiment from the set 'Sail Away' by Simon Says Stamp. I only added one single heart as embellishment, die cut with a Lawn Fawn die. Then I just adhered the panel to the card base. Quite CAS! :D

Kranssi - Wreath

Joulukortteja on tullut tehtyä melkoinen pino, mutta bloggaamaan en ole niitä ehtinyt. Yritän nyt saada edes muutaman näytille ennen joulua... Tämän kortin tein Concord & 9th:n Magnolia Wreath -leimoilla ja -stansseilla. Musteet ovat Hero Artsin, stanssattu banneri Spellbindersin ja tekstileima FinnStamperin. Taustan paneeli on stanssattu MFT:n ommelreunastanssilla.

I've been so busy making Christmas cards that I haven't had the chance to blog them. I'll try and show you at least some before Christmas.. I made this one with the 'Magnolia Wreath' stamps and dies by Concord & 9th, I used some Hero Arts inks to stamp the pretty wreath and the berries. I die cut the red banner with a Spellbinders die and heat embossed the sentiment (it says 'Merry Christmas' in Finnish). I die cut the panel in the background with a MFT stitched edge die. Quick and easy! :)

Hääparille - To the happy couple

Syksy on jo niin pitkällä, että se alkaa näkyä korteissakin. Tämä kortti meni avioituneelle parille lähipiiriin ja inspiraationa tässä oli morsiamen lempiväri (oranssi) ja hääpäivän ajankohta (syksy). Leimoina käytin Concord&9th:n Lacy Leaf  ja Perfectly Penned -leimasettejä. Tuon lehden taustalla olevan leiman leimasin Distresseillä ja lehden embossasin mustalla. Tekstin leimailin aakkonen kerrallaan. Taustalle roiskin hieman kultaa, paneelin stanssasin Simon Says Stampin stanssilla ja kiinnitin korttipohjaan.

Happy World Cardmaking Day! I've got an autumny wedding card to show you, I made this for a happy couple in my family. Inspiration for this came from the bride's favourite colour (orange) and the time of the wedding (autumn). I made this using Concord&9th stamps, 'Lacy Leaf' and 'Perfectly Penned'. I stamped the background stamp using some Distress Inks and then heat embossed the leaf in black on top of it. I 'wrote' the sentiment with the alphabet stamps (it says 'to the wedded couple' in Finnish). I added a few splashes of gold to the background before die cutting the panel with a Simon Says Stamp die and attaching it to the card base.
