Hän on kolme! - He is three!

...ollut jo hetken aikaa kylläkin, nimittäin meidän ihana esikoisemme täytti tuossa huhtikuun loppupuolella kokonaiset kolme vuotta (tähän kohtaan saa lisätä järkyttynyttä päivittelyä ajan kulumisesta... ja paljon!). Tein hänelle kolme korttia, yhden meiltä ja loput isovanhempien ja isoisoäidin annettavaksi. Ensin esittelyyn meiltä saatu kortti, jossa tietenkin on auto - mitä muuta pienen automiehen kortissa voi olla? Leima on siis Papermanian ja Distress Markereilla väritetty. Säteet taustalla on FinnStamperin leima, tekstileima Paperinauhan setistä ja paperit My Mind's Eyeta. Valmiin kortin koristuksiin ei kuulunut tuo kuvassa näkyvä post-it -lappu, se peittää pojan nimeä, jonka korttiin leimasin ;)

...and has been for a while already. Our gorgeous big boy, our firstborn, turned three at the end of April (and yes, I am still shocked - how can he be three already?!). I made three cards for his birthday, one from us and one for his grandparents to give to him and one for his greatgrandmother to give to him. This first card is from us and, of course, it has a car on it - he is such an enthusiastic carlover :) The stamped image is by Papermania and I coloured it with Distress Markers. The ray stamp behind the car is by FinnStamper and the sentiment says something like 'huuuge congrats'. And the piece of a post-it note that you can see on the photo is not an embellishment, it just covers his name that I stamped there and that I'm not willing to share (yes, I'm overcautious...).

Ja tältä kortti näyttää, kun se avataan. Kyseessä on siis ns. spiral pop-up -kortti, johon tein tuon spiraalin Sizzixin ruusustanssilla ja kiinnitin siihen kolme pientä autoleimakuvaa.

And this is what the card looks like when it's opened. It's a spiral pop-up card. I made the spiral with a Sizzix rose die and attached three little stamped cars to it.

Tämän kortin pojalle antoivat isovanhemmat. Tuon koalaleiman valmistajaa en tiedä, väritin sen kuitenkin Distress Markereilla. Tekstileima taitaa sekin olla Paperinauhan setistä ja paperit vanhoja October Afternooneja. Lisänä nappi.

This card was given to him by his grandparents. I stamped the three koalas (I don't know the manufacturer of the stamp, sorry) and coloured them with Distress Markers. The papers are by October Afternoon and the sentiment says something like 'have an amazingly fun birthday'.

Viimeisenä näytille isoisoäidin antama kortti (pojalla ja isoisoäidillään on muuten 90 vuotta ikäeroa :) ). Leimakuva on Art Journeyn, paperit Authentiqueta, lisänä numero Tim Holtzin stanssilla stanssattuna ja tuollaiset metallipidikkeet.

And lastly, this card was given to our son by his greatgrandmother (the age difference between her and our son is whopping 90 years! :) ). The rubber stamp I used is by Art Journey, it's from the Grunge set. The papers are by Authentique, the number is die cut with a Tim Holtz die and as embellies there are a couple of brads and those metal 'holders' (don't know what they're called really).

ATC: A Fool's Crown

ATC-kortilla jatketaan taas. Tästä tuli suhteellisen simppeli (mikä yllätys... ;) ) eli askartelullista taidonnäytettä tästä saa hakemalla hakea mutta kiva tätä oli silti tehdä :) Käytin tähän sitä ihanaa taustaleimaa (Impression Obsession: Scratches), Art Journeyn ja Lynne Perrellan leimoja, Distress Stainia ja washiteippejä. Siinäpä tuo!

Another ATC for you to see. This is no shining example of my crafty abilities, it's just a simple ATC with very few elements (but I kinda like it anyway :) ). For this, I used my lovely new background stamp (Impression Obsession: Scratches), stamps by Art Journey and Lynne Perrella, some Distress Stain and some washi tapes. And that's about it!

Pitkästä aikaa - Long time

...art journal -sivu! Enpä ole sitten kesäisen mojon menettämisen jälkeen tehnyt sivuja art journaliin (paitsi tietenkin tämän sivun), alkuun ei huvittanut ja sittemmin tuli kaikenlaisia korttikiireitä. Mutta nyt joulukorttiähkyn vastapainoksi tein sivun ja kivaa oli :) Käytin tähän erinäisiä akryylimaaleja, musteita, spray inkejä, Prismacoloreita, Goldenin Glass Bead Geliä, leimasimia, sabloonaa, washi-teippiä (Teippitarhasta) jne. Ja jos joku ihmettelee, että missä kuplassa kellun, niin raskaushormonihuuruissahan minä... :)

...no art journaling! (Well, except for this page) But that changed over the weekend as I made a page in my brand new journal (a gorgeous Derwent journal with thick pages and just the right size - love!). I got fed up with making Christmas cards so this gave me a welcome break :) For this page, I used various acrylic paints, inks, spray inks, Prismacolor pens, Glass Bead Gel by Golden, rubber stamps, a stencil, some washi tape (from Teippitarha), etc. Oh, and just in case you're wondering why I'm floating around in a bubble, let me just say 'pregnancy hormones'... ;)

Kesäkuu - June

Kesäkuuta mennään jo hurjaa vauhtia ja vasta nyt sain kalenterisivuni valmiiksi. Jotenkin se kuukauden vaihtuminen pääsee aina yllättämään.... ;) No, kysehän on kuitenkin Kate Cranen kalenterihaasteesta ja mukana ollaan, edelleen. En tiedä, oliko tälle(kään) sivulle sen kummempaa lähtöideaa kuin nuo keltaiset pallukat - olimme nimittäin toissapäivänä kävelyllä ja tuntui, että joka paikassa oli aivan mielettömän paljon ihania keltaisia voikukkia (niin, joidenkin mielestä roskakukkia, minun mielestäni kauniita...) ja halusin mahduttaa ne sivuuni jotenkin. Tätä sivua tehdessä minulla soi päässä koko ajan The Doorsin Love Street, joten ehkä se on sitten vaikuttanut sivuun muuten, mene ja tiedä :)

June seems to be racing by fast and I've only just finished my June page - oops! How come the turn of the month always comes so unexpectedly... ;) Well anyway, this is my June page for the calendar challenge hosted by the lovely Kate Crane. I don't know if I had any great idea for this page, except dandelions :) We went for a walk the other day and there were the gorgeous yellow faces of dandelions everywhere and I wanted to capture those somehow, hence the yellow circles for journaling. While I was making this page, I had 'Love Street' by The Doors playing in my head all the time, so maybe that influenced my page, too :)

Let things happen

Tuntuu, että olen viime aikoina urakoinut sen verran synttärikortteja, etten ole muuta ehtinyt askartelemaankaan. Nyt sain kuitenkin valmiiksi art journal -sivun - ja seuraavaksi saankin ruveta taas tekemään synttärikortteja! ;) Sivun tyttönen on aivan ihana Suzi Blu/Unity-leima nimeltään 'Love Yourself', johon olen tykästynyt aivan valtavasti. Muut tässä käyttämäni leimasimet ovat Paperbag Studiosin, Art Journeyn ja TPC Studion. Lisänä spray inkiä, Golden Fluid -akryylimaaleja, NeoColor II:a, paperiliinaa ja washiteippiä. Ja toivottavasti jotain ajatustakin! He hee! ;D

I feel like I've been up to my ears in birthday cards lately, haven't had a chance to art journal at all. Well, now I managed to finish this page in my art journal and guess what I'll be making next? Yes, some more birthday cards! ;D The girl on my page is a rubber stamp by Suzi Blu/Unity called 'Love Yourself' and I just love it, she's so beautiful. The other stamps I've used here are by the Paperbag Studios, Art Journey, and TPC Studio. Additional materials include some spray ink, some Golden Fluid acrylic paints, NeoColor II crayons, some paper tissue and some washi tape. And hopefully some thought behind it all! LOL! ;D

Syysväreissä - Autumn colours

Tässä lisää servettikokeiluja. Tein tämän niin päin, että leimasin valkoiseen servettiin mustalla tuon leimakuvan (Paperbag Studiosin Thistle) ja levitin vihreää, keltaista ja sinistä Distress Inkiä valkoiselle kartongille ja liimasin servetin kartongin päälle. Hiukan vielä varovasti lisäsin musteita servetin päällekin. Mielestäni siitä tuli aika kiva näin, tuo servetti antaa jännän, hieman tekomokkamaisen pinnan, joka näyttää ihan hauskalta livenä. Tuo taustapaperi on BasicGreytä, leimasin siihen perhosen Inkadinkadon Garden Delight -setistä ja oikeaan alakulmaan muutaman rinkulan Art Journeyn leimalla (nuo rinkulat olisivat menneet ohi, jos en olisi niistä maininnut, eikö? ;D ), lisäksi siihen viereen laitoin pari tippaa vettä, että sain tuollaisen roiskejäljen. Koristeina tässä on vain BasicGreyn narua ja FinnStamperin embossattu ja Distresseillä väritetty perhonen.

I continued my experiments with paper tissues but this time I stamped the image (Paperbag Studios' Thistle) on the tissue with black ink and added some Distress Inks (green, yellow and blue) to a white cardstock. Then I just glued the tissue on the cardstock. The inks showed through but I added just a little bit more straight on the tissue. I think this way the tissue looks quite nice, it gives a sort of fake suede finish which I like. The background paper is by BasicGrey, I stamped the butterfly from the Inkadinkado set Garden Delight on it and I also stamped a few circles with an Art Journey stamp in the lower right hand corner (you would have missed them if I didn't mention they were there, right? ;D ), I also added a couple of spots of water there. As embellies there are only the beautiful fibre by BasicGrey and a butterfly (it's a stamped image which I heat embossed, coloured with Distress Inks and cut out).

ETA: Think I'm getting old... ;) Forgot to say that there is some thin metal wire among the BasicGrey fibre, thought the card needed a bit of something surprising (you'll see the wire better if you click the piccie to make it larger).
