Candles Candles

This year I've been making several die cut Christmas cards. Here are some that I made with Candle Shop die set from Sizzix / Tim Holtz. All the cards feature candles die cut with the Candle Shop die set.

The first card features a frame die from Penny Black called Frame It, a bow from Vault Festive Wreath die set by Sizzix / Tim Holtz and a die cut sentiment that says 'Christmas Peace'.

The second one features a frame die by Penny Black called Whirl, and some added greenery and berries die cut with the Vault Festive Wreath die set by Sizzix / Tim Holtz. The die cut sentiment is the same as above.

This one features pretty much the same elements as the card above, I used used a different patterned paper and a stamped sentiment (it says 'Christmas Greetings').

The last card features a panel die cut with a Penny Black die Semi-Circle Stackers and some added greenery and a pine cone die cut with the Vault Festive Wreath die set by Sizzix / Tim Holtz. The sentiment is the same as in the card above.

Festive Poinsettia

I made a couple of Christmas cards with Altenew's gorgeous poinsettia stamp, Festive Poinsettia. I coloured them with my Copics before fussy cutting them out. For the background in the first card, I masked a rectangle and ink blended it with Distress Oxide ink in Iced Spruce and splattered some gold and brown ink on it. I then dry embossed it with a Penny Black embossing folder called Melody before adhering the poinsettia on it. The sentiment is die cut and says 'Christmas Greetings' in Finnish. I embellished the card with some half pearls.

The second card has more of a vintage feel to it. I used a piece of light brown cardstock and stamped it with Pinkfresh Studio's Dainty Plaid background stamp before ink blending some brown Distress Oxide ink on the edges. The frame is also by Pinkfresh Studio and it's called Ornate Oval Frame. I splattered the poinsettia and the background with some white acrylic ink, adhered everything in place, adhered the die cut sentiment in place (the same as in the first card) and embellished the card with some gems.

Christmas Blush

Here's a Christmas card I made with a Penny Black stamp called Christmas Blush. I coloured the image with my Copics before masking the edges with masking tape and ink blending the rectangle with Distress Oxide ink in Saltwater Taffy. I stamped the sentiment ('Happy Christmastime' in Finnish) before matting the panel onto some red cardstock and then the cardbase. Lastly, I embellished the card with some gems.

Christmas Rose Bouquet

It's been ages since I last used this WPlus9 stamp set Christmas Rose Bouquet and I cannot understand why I haven't used it as it is gorgeous and so lovely to colour. Well, I used it now and I'm happy! I coloured the image with my Copics before die cutting it with its matching die and adding a bit of white pen to the Christmas roses. The oval frame is die cut with Ornate Oval Frame die from Pinkfresh Studio and the sentiment is die cut as well (it says 'Christmas Peace'). As a background I used coloured cardstock splattered with white paint. I embellished the card with some gold gems.

Autumnal Flowers

I think this is pretty much the only autumnal card I've made this year and I need to post it quickly before the autumn season is gone and we're in the Christmas season! The stamp I used on this one is Blossom and Bloom by Altenew, I die cut it with the matching die and coloured it with my Copics. I wanted to keep the background pretty simple so I created an orange panel by stamping, tone-on-tone, with Pinkfresh Studio's stamp Dainty Plaid onto a piece of orange cardstock and layered that panel with a white panel before adhering it all onto my cardbase with foam adhesives. The sentiment is by Penny Black and it is heat embossed. After adhering everything in place, I embellished the card with some pink gems.

Christmas Greetings

I made a clean and simple Christmas card using Hero Arts Merry Foliage stamp and die set. I coloured the image with my Copics, added a bit of white gel pen here and there, and some sparkle using Rock Candy glitter on the red berries and some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen on the yellow berries. I made the red and white panel using some left over cardstock in white and red which I cut into strips and adhered onto a panel creating a kind of a candy cane background. I adhered the panel onto the cardbase with some foam adhesives, I also used foam adhesives when adhering the die cut image onto the panel. As I needed Christmas cards in Finnish, I used a die cut sentiment in Finnish (it says 'Christmas Greetings'). Lastly, I embellished the card with some gold half pearls.

Jolly Santa

This jolly Santa captured my heart the minute I saw him, he is the sweetest Santa ever! He is a Sizzix / Tim Holtz die called Jolly St. Nick and it was so much fun piecing him together. He is a big fella, so this card is the size 5x7. I had him sneakily carry a present behind his back, die cut with Sizzix/Tim Holtz die set Celebrate. I added a piece of patterned paper behind him and a frame die cut with the Penny Black die Frame It. The sentiment is die cut as well, it translates as 'Christmas Greetings'.
