Vihreää - Green

Taas ollaan supersimppelillä linjalla. Yritin tähänkin korttiin miettiä kaikenlaista lisää, koristetta, leimattua tekstiä, jotakin, mutta en vain saanut sopimaan, jotenkin kaikki näytti "liialta". Ehkä minulla on liian simppelit aivot enkä siksi saa ylenmääräistä tavaraa korttiin! ;D No mutta tähän leimasin valkoiselle kartongille ensin Hero Artsin shadow stampilla ja vihreällä Shadow Inkillä tuon neliön ja sen päälle leimasin Woodwaren The Hedgerow -leiman mustalla Archival Inkillä. Sitten leikkasin leimakuvan irti, kiinnitin vihreälle paperille ja korttipohjaan. Lisäksi laitoin muutaman mustan timantin.

Once again I have a super simple card to show you. I tried to add things to this card, embellishments, a stamped sentiment, etc. but it all just looked like 'too much' so I ended up keeping it simple. Simple mind, simple cards, eh? ;D Well anyways, I first stamped the rectangle shape with a Hero Arts shadow stamp and some green Shadow Ink onto white cardstock and then stamped the image (The Hedgerow by Woodware) with black Archival Ink onto it. Then I just cut the cardstock, attached it to some green paper and then to card blank. As embellies there are a few black rhinestones.

Keväinen puu - Spring tree

Tein tämän kortin Hero Artsin maaliskuun haasteeseen, jossa aiheena on 'hello spring!', eli keväisiä kortteja kaivataan. Yhdistin tähän vielä maaliskuun värihaasteen (värit näet, kun klikkaat linkkiä alla). Kaikkia tarvittavia värejä minulla ei ollut valmiina kartonkeina, joten värjäsin valkoista kartonkia vetämällä sitä mustetyynyn päältä muutamaan kertaan, näin siis tein tuon vihreän ja keltaisen kartongin. Leimasin Hero Artsin Trees of the Season -setin keväisen puun sinisellä Distress Inkillä, kiinnitin sen harmaaseen kartonkiin ja sitten korttipohjaan tarrapaloilla. Lisää harmaata löytyy vielä tuosta washiteipistä ja liilaa on timanteissa. Tuon kuvion stanssasin Memory Boxin stanssilla.

I made this card for the March challenge over at Hero Arts blog. The theme this month is 'hello spring!'. I made this card for the colour challenge as well (you can see the required colours if you click the link below). I didn't have cardstock in all the required colours so I made my own by dragging ink pads over white cardstock, I made the green and the yellow cardstock this way. The stamped image is the spring tree from the Trees of the Season set by Hero Arts, I stamped it with blue Distress Ink. I attached the stamped image to grey cardstock, cut it out and attached to the card blank with foam pads. More grey can be found in the washi tape and purple in the rhinestones. The die I used is by Memory Box.

Värikästä - Colourful

Alkuun varoituksen sana: kannattaa laittaa aurinkolasit silmille ennen kuin katsoo tätä korttia... tässä nimittäin löytyy väriä ja kuviota vaikka muille jakaa! :) En tiedä, onko tämä kevään kaipuuta vai mitä mutta jotenkin nämä (todella) kirkkaat värit houkuttavat tällä hetkellä. Käytin tässä tuon kukan tekoon Hero Arts/Basic Greyn Luscious Bold Flowers settiä, alimman kukan embossasin valkoisella ja muut leimailin Distress Inkeillä. Osan kukan kerroksista kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. Taustan leimasin Hero Artsin Zig Zag -leimalla. Kukan takana olevan lärpäkkeen (nyt en saa parempaakaan sanaa mieleen, aivot nukkuvat... ;D ) päällimmäinen osa on teippailtu washiteipillä. Lisänä vielä vähän nappia, hammaslankaa ja helmiä. Kaikkea mahdollista siis löytyy ! :)

First of all, a warning to you all: please wear your sunglasses when viewing this card... there's a lot of colours and patterns going on here! :) I must be longing for spring as I'm really drawn to bright (and I mean bright! ;) ) colours at the moment. I made the flower for this card with Luscious Bold Flowers stamp set by Hero Arts/Basic Grey, I heat embossed the biggest flower with white embossing powder and stamped the two other flowers with Distress Inks. I attached the bottom two flowers with foam pads. I then stamped the background with Zig Zag stamp by Hero Arts. The banner behind the flower is made of two parts, the green plaid pattern is actually washi tape taped to white cardstock. As further embellies there are a button, some pink scrapper's floss and a few pearls. So a lot going on in this little card! :)

Harmaa ja keltainen - Grey and yellow

 ...ne yhteen soppii, vai mitä :) Käytin tähän korttiin Hero Artsin ihanaa isoa kukkaa, Large Floweria. Embossasin sen valkoisella jauheella akvarellipaperille ja väritin keltaisilla Distress Staineilla. Taustalle leimasin Hero Artsin Newspaper Backgroundin harmaalla Hero Artsin Shadow Inkillä. Tuo harmaa kuviopaperi on puolestaan Fancy Pantsia, lisänä tavallista harmaata kartonkia. Koristeiksi laitoin muutaman mustan helmen. Eli varsin harmaata on mutta toivottavasti ei tylsää ;)

...look good together, don't they? :) For this card, I used the Large Flower stamp by Hero Arts. I heat embossed it with white embossing powder onto some aquarelle paper and then coloured it with various yellow Distress Stains.  For the background, I stamped the Newspaper Background by Hero Arts with grey HA Shadow Ink. The patterned paper is by Fancy Pants accompanied by basic grey cardstock. The only embellies are black pearls.

Omakuva - Self-portrait

Idea tähän art journal -sivuun tuli eräänä aamuyönä puoli neljän aikaan, kun keinuin keinutuolissa perheen pienimmän kanssa. Hän tuskaili vatsavaivojaan ja minä väsymystäni. Pitääkseni itseäni hereillä rupesin askartelemaan tätä sivua mielessäni ja sitten myöhemmin, kun pääsin ihan oikeasti askartelupöytäni ääreen, kokosin sivun mielikuva-askartelun pohjalta (tuplailo askartelusta: ensin mielessä ja sitten ihan oikeasti... ;D ). Niin, ja vetäkää liput salkoihin: otin ja piirsin ja vielä käytinkin piirtämäni kuvan! Kysyin muuten mieheltä, näyttääkö tuo minulta ja vastaus oli "ei, tolta puuttuu lasit". Eli muuten ilmeisesti kyllä.... Kuvittele siis tuohon lasit ja jos näet sen näköisen tyypin haahuilevan vastaan, ei muuta kuin käsi pystyyn, se olen minä! :D

The idea for this journal page came to me one morning at around 3.30 am as I was rocking in our rocking chair with the baby. He was awake with tummy ache after feeding and I was trying to stay awake, feeling dead tired. So to keep myself awake, I started to craft in my mind and 'made' this page and then later when I actually got to sit down at my craft table, I just assembled this page (it's the double joy of crafting: first crafting in my mind and then actually physically crafting ;D ). Oh, and three cheers for me: I drew a picture and even used it for this page! I asked hubby if it looked like me and he said "no, you have glasses". So apart from that, I guess that looks like me...

Haasteellista - Sketchy

En ole erityisen hyvä luonnoshaasteissa, tuntuu, että joko seuraan luonnosta liian tarkkaan tai sitten liian suurpiirteisesti. Tämä kortti saattaa mennä tuohon jälkimmäiseen kategoriaan... Tein sen Hero Artsin helmikuun luonnoshaasteen pohjalta (klikkaa linkkiä alempana) mutta en nyt ole yhtään varma, miten tarkkaan luonnosta pitäisi noudattaa - perussommitteluhan tässä noudattaa luonnosta mutta eipä tästä mitään kuusikulmiota löydy, hmm... No, tällä mennään kuitenkin ja katsotaan, miten käy. Käytin kortissa Hero Artsin/Basic Greyn Luscious Bold Flowers -setin kukkaa (leimasin kukalla myös nuo lehdet), Papertrey Inkin stanssia, Stempelkellerin tekstileiman osaa (koko leimasin toivottaa 'hurjasti onnea!' mutta embossasin tähän vain tuon loppuosan), Distress Inkejä, washiteippiä ja timantteja.

I'm not particularly good with sketch challenges, I'm never sure how literally you have to follow the given sketch or how much 'artistic freedom' you can have with it. I made this card following the February sketch challenge over at Hero Arts blog (click the link below to see the sketch) but I'm not sure if this follows the sketch as much as it should (there are, for example, no hexagons here...). Well, anyways, this is my take on the sketch ;) For this card I used the Luscious Bold Flowers set by Hero Arts/BasicGrey (I used the flower stamp to stamp the leaves as well), a doily die by Papertrey Ink, a sentiment stamp that says 'congrats!' heat embossed in white, some Distress Inks, washi tape and rhinestones.

Ehdin tuossa päivänä eräänä pikaisesti askartelemaan (hurraa! :) ) ja ajattelin osallistua SODAliciouksen art journal -haasteeseen. Aiheena on 'addiktio' ja tässä minun näkemykseni siitä. Sivun tekoon meni mustesuihketta, akryylimaalia ja Paper Artsyn leimoja.

The other day I had a little time to play around in my craft room and I decided to make an art journal page for the SODAlicious art journal challenge where the theme is 'addiction'. Below you can see my interpretation of it. I used some ink spray, acrylic paints and Paper Artsy stamps to make the page.
