Kukkia koholla - Stamped and embossed

Tein muutaman onnittelukortin leimaus+kohokuviointikombolla. Käytin näihin Hero Artsin Silhouette Vines -leimaa ja sen mukana tulevaa kohokuviointikansiota, joilla sai mielestäni kivan lopputuloksen. Leima kohokuviointeineen on melko iso, joten paljon muuta ei korttiin mahdukaan, vain tekstileima (FinnStamper) vellumvyötteeseen ja kerrostus kartongille ja korttipohjaan. Ensimmäiseen korttiin väritin leiman Distress Markereilla ja Impress-tusseilla ja suihkaisin vettä perään, kaksi muuta korttia on leimattu Hero Artsin Shadow Inkeillä.

I made a few simple birthday cards with my new stamp and embossing folder set by Hero Arts. It's called 'Silhouette Vines' and I really like it, I think the embossing gives it a lovely look. The stamped and embossed image is quite large so there isn't much room for embellishments, I just stamped my sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) on a strip of vellum and matted the image on some cardstock and then onto the card base. For the first card, I used Distress Markers and Impress markers to colour the stamp before spritzing it with some water and stamping it, and the other two cards are just stamped with Hero Arts Shadow Inks.

Hyväntekeväisyyteen, osa 2 - For charity, part 2

Mainitsin tuossa taannoin tekeväni muutaman joulukortin Paperilla-lehden järjestämään korttikeräykseen uuden lastensairaalan hyväksi ja nyt sain kortit tehtyä. Ensimmäinen korttimalli on sama kuin se aikaisemmin näyttämäni, eli WPlus9:n leimoilla ja stansseilla tehty kranssikortti. Toiseen korttimalliin käytin Marianne Designin stansseilla stanssattuja joulutähtiä ja FinnStamperin tekstileimaa embossattuna. Tätä mallia tein näin vaakaan ja myös pystyyn. Yhteensä kortteja on 10, toivottavasti menevät kaupaksi :) Kortteja ehtii muuten keräykseen vielä tehdä, aikaa on lokakuun loppuun asti.

Earlier in the summer I posted a Christmas card that I had made for charity (they're raising funds to build a new national children's hospital, and there's a card drive for cards which be sold and the money raised from them will go for this charity). I've now made a few more cards for the card drive. The first card design is similar to the one I posted in June, I used WPlus9 stamps and dies to build the wreath for this one. For the second card, I used a poinsettia die cut with Marianne Design dies and a sentiment stamp heat embossed in gold. I have five cards of both desings made, so 10 in total which I'll send to the charity. I hope they get sold and raise money for the good cause :)

Ruusuja mummolle - Roses for My Grandma

Tein toisenkin kortin mummolleni, tämän hänelle antoi äitini (ensimmäinen kortti on siis täällä). Leimasin tähän WPlus9:n Coming Up Roses -setin leimoilla ja Distress Inkeillä + Heron Shadow Inkeillä. Kuvasta ei näy mutta lisäsin ruusuihin kirkasta Wink of Stella -kimallekynää. Sitten hieman kerrostusta, kuviopaperia ja ääriviivatarroja ja ruussuinen kortti oli valmis :)

I made another card for my Grandma as well, this was given to her by my mother (you can see the first card here). For this card, I used stamps from the 'Coming Up Roses' set by WPlus9 with some Distress Inks and Hero Arts Shadow Inks. You can't see it in the photo but I added some clear Wink of Stella glitter pen on the roses. Then I just matted the image on grey cardstock and used some pretty patterned paper and some stickers (the sentiment says 'Congrats') and rhinestones to finish the card.

Mummolle - For My Grandma

Mummoni täyttää tänään 94 vuotta, kävimme eilen juhlimassa ja kahvittelemassa pienen lahjan ja tällaisen kortin kera. Tai no, kortteja oli itse asiassa kolme - molemmat pojat tekivät isomummolle omat korttinsa. Harmittaa oikein, etten tajunnut ottaa niistä kuvaa, olisitte nähneet, että jään korttien tekemisessä kyllä kirkkaasti kakkoseksi, sen verran hienot kortit molemmat pojat tekivät :) Omaan korttiini embossasin Papertrey Inkin Year of Flowers -sarjan Sweet Peas -leiman kullalla ja väritin Twinkling H2O -väreillä. Stanssasin sen osittain Spellbindersin ovaalilla stanssilla ja kerrostin korttipohjaan kohotarralla. Kuviopaperin kehystin harmaalla kartongilla ja lisäilin hieman vaaleanpunaisia timantteja ja ääriviivatarroja, kulmat pyöristin.

My Grandma turns 94 years old today :) We celebrated her yesterday and brought her a little gift and this card. Well, actually, we gave her three cards in all as both of my boys (4 years and 1,5 years old) made her a card as well. I'm so annoyed with myself because I didn't think of photographing the cards, I could have shown you how I'm clearly the worst cardmaker in this family - the cards my boys made were so gorgeous! :) For my card, I heat embossed the Papertrey Ink stamp 'Year of Flowers: Sweet Peas' with gold embossing powder and coloured the image with Twinkling H2O watercolours after partially die cutting it with an oval Spellbinders die. For the background I used some pretty patterned paper which I 'framed' with grey cardstock. I attached the stamped image with foam adhesives and added some golden stickers (the sentiment says 'Congrats') and some pink rhinestones to finish the card off. Oh, and I also rounded the corners with a cornerchomper.

Hyvää syntymäpäivää - Happy Birthday

... Nonni! :) Korttikarkurin korttitaituri Nonnilla on tänään syntymäpäivä ja sen kunniaksi Sandie järjestää blogissaan Nonnille linky partyn (lisätietoja ja linkittymismahdollisuuden löydät Sandien blogista, jossa kannattaa muutenkin käydä tutustumassa Sandien upeisiin kortteihin). Nonni on leimailun mestari ja taitaa tyylikkäästi CAS:n, joten näillä eväillä yritin tehdä oman korttini Nonnille. Leimaukset tein Avery Ellen Modern Leaves -setin leimalla, jota käytin sekä oikein- että väärinpäin (nuo vihreät ja keltaiset yksiväriset lehdet on leimattu leimasimen nurjalla puolella ja nuo raitaiset lehdet taas leimasimen oikealla, varsinaisella leimauspuolella). Musteina käytin Hero Artsin Shadow Inkeja Lemon Yellow, Green Hills ja Cup O' Joe. Tekstileima on FinnStamperin. Jotta kortti ei olisi liian tylsä, leikkasin paperileikkurilla etupaneelin kahtia ja jätin pienen raon tuohon lehtien kohtaan, paneelin kiinnitin sitten kohoteipillä. Tällainen kortti Nonnille, toivottavasti pidät ystäväiseni! :) Ja vielä kerran: hyvää syntymäpäivää, ihana! :)

... to you, Nonni! :) The wonderful and very talented cardmaker Nonni from Korttikarkuri blog has her birthday today and to help her celebrate, Sandie from London Days blog has kindly arranged a linky party for her (for more info and for your chance to link up your card, visit Sandie's blog - and while you're there, if you're not familiar with Sandie please make sure you have time to check out her amazingly beautiful cards, she as well is one talented lady when it comes to cardmaking!). OK, so Nonni is an amazing stamper and masters the elegant CAS style perfectly - I tried to follow suit and make her a birthday card that would involve only stamping and be CAS, and this is what I came up with. I used both sides of one stamp from the 'Modern Leaves' set by Avery Elle to stamp the leaves. The solid yellow and green leaves are stamped with the back side of the stamp and the striped leaves are stamped with the actual "right" side of the same stamp. I used Hero Arts Shadow Inks (Lemon Yellow, Green Hills and Cup O' Joe) for my stamping. The sentiment says 'Congratulations' in Finnish. To add a bit of interest to the card, I cut the front panel in half! :D I attached it with some foam tape to give it some dimension and left a tiny space between the two halves. This is my card for Nonni - I hope you like it, sweetie! And once again: happy birthday! :)

Koululaiselle - For a school boy

Nuorin veljenpojistani aloitti tänä syksynä koulun ja sen kunniaksi muistimme häntä pienellä koulunaloittajaispaketilla. Paketin kylkeen tein tällaisen pienen tagin jämäpapereilla, Papertrey Inkin stanssilla, Dr Ninan leimakuvalla (väritys ProMarkereilla) ja Paper Smoochesin aakkosleimoilla. Lisäksi muutama enamel dots ja pienellä nitojalla kiinnitetty nauha.

The youngest of my nephews started school this autumn (oh how time flies...!) and to mark the occasion, we gave him a small present and I made this tag to go with it. I used some leftover patterned papers, a cute stamped image coloured with ProMarkers, some Paper Smooches alphabet stamps, and a Papertrey Ink die to make it. As finishing touches there are some enamel dots and some ribbon attached with a Tiny Attacher.

Ruusuja - Roses

Pidän Charles Rennie Mackintoshin töistä ja kun huomasin, että Chocolate Baroquella on Mackintosh-vaikutteisia leimoja, niin pitihän ne kotiuttaa ;) Tämä leima on Mackintosh Windows -setistä, embossasin sen mustalla, väritin Twinkling H2O -vesiväreillä ja kerrostin mustalle kartongille. Tekstileima on FinnStamperin, sekin mustalla embossattu ja kartongille kerrostettu. Taustaleima on Hero Artsin Modern Lines ja senkin embossasin. Sekä leimakuva että tekstileima on kohotarroilla kiinnitetty.

I love Charles Rennie Mackintosh's work and when I noticed that Chocolate Baroque has stamp designs influenced by him, I had to have them! ;) This particular stamp is from the 'Mackintosh Windows' set, I heat embossed it with black powder and coloured with Twinkling H2O watercolours. The sentiment says 'Congrats' and it's heat embossed as well, as is the background stamp ('Modern Lines' by Hero Arts). Both stamped panels are adhered with foam adhesives.
