Mummolle - For My Grandma

Mummoni täyttää tänään 94 vuotta, kävimme eilen juhlimassa ja kahvittelemassa pienen lahjan ja tällaisen kortin kera. Tai no, kortteja oli itse asiassa kolme - molemmat pojat tekivät isomummolle omat korttinsa. Harmittaa oikein, etten tajunnut ottaa niistä kuvaa, olisitte nähneet, että jään korttien tekemisessä kyllä kirkkaasti kakkoseksi, sen verran hienot kortit molemmat pojat tekivät :) Omaan korttiini embossasin Papertrey Inkin Year of Flowers -sarjan Sweet Peas -leiman kullalla ja väritin Twinkling H2O -väreillä. Stanssasin sen osittain Spellbindersin ovaalilla stanssilla ja kerrostin korttipohjaan kohotarralla. Kuviopaperin kehystin harmaalla kartongilla ja lisäilin hieman vaaleanpunaisia timantteja ja ääriviivatarroja, kulmat pyöristin.

My Grandma turns 94 years old today :) We celebrated her yesterday and brought her a little gift and this card. Well, actually, we gave her three cards in all as both of my boys (4 years and 1,5 years old) made her a card as well. I'm so annoyed with myself because I didn't think of photographing the cards, I could have shown you how I'm clearly the worst cardmaker in this family - the cards my boys made were so gorgeous! :) For my card, I heat embossed the Papertrey Ink stamp 'Year of Flowers: Sweet Peas' with gold embossing powder and coloured the image with Twinkling H2O watercolours after partially die cutting it with an oval Spellbinders die. For the background I used some pretty patterned paper which I 'framed' with grey cardstock. I attached the stamped image with foam adhesives and added some golden stickers (the sentiment says 'Congrats') and some pink rhinestones to finish the card off. Oh, and I also rounded the corners with a cornerchomper.

Ruusuja - Roses

Pidän Charles Rennie Mackintoshin töistä ja kun huomasin, että Chocolate Baroquella on Mackintosh-vaikutteisia leimoja, niin pitihän ne kotiuttaa ;) Tämä leima on Mackintosh Windows -setistä, embossasin sen mustalla, väritin Twinkling H2O -vesiväreillä ja kerrostin mustalle kartongille. Tekstileima on FinnStamperin, sekin mustalla embossattu ja kartongille kerrostettu. Taustaleima on Hero Artsin Modern Lines ja senkin embossasin. Sekä leimakuva että tekstileima on kohotarroilla kiinnitetty.

I love Charles Rennie Mackintosh's work and when I noticed that Chocolate Baroque has stamp designs influenced by him, I had to have them! ;) This particular stamp is from the 'Mackintosh Windows' set, I heat embossed it with black powder and coloured with Twinkling H2O watercolours. The sentiment says 'Congrats' and it's heat embossed as well, as is the background stamp ('Modern Lines' by Hero Arts). Both stamped panels are adhered with foam adhesives.

Kukkaa pukkaa - Pink and blue

Ensin postauksia peräkkäisinä päivinä, sitten ei mitään moneen aikaan - ei tätä blogia voi ainakaan säännöllisyydestä syyttää! ;D Kaikenlaiset kesäkiireet ovat painaneet päälle, joten muu toiminta on hieman jäänyt taka-alalle (Summer Card Camp 2 mukaan lukien, viimeisellä kurssiviikolla ehdin hädin tuskin vilkaista kurssiaiheet läpi! Mutta ehtii kai tuota vielä...). Tässä kuitenkin näytille uusi kortti uudella leimalla. Tämä Hero Artsin Large Flower Background on ihana. I.h.a.n.a. Ihana. Eikä se oikeastaan tarvitse seurakseen muuta, tuntuu toimivan ihan hyvin itsekseenkin. Embossasin sen tähän valkoisella ('seafoam white') jauheella ja väritin sinisen taustan Distress Stainilla (Tumbled Glass). Kukat ja lehdet väritin Twinkling H2O -vesiväreillä. Tekstileiman (FinnStamper) leimasin vellumille ja tein siitä tuollaisen vyötteen kortin ympäri. Lopulta vain kiinnitys korttipohjaan ja siinäpä se.

Well, you can't blame this blog (or me...) for being too regular: first I post something every day for almost a week and then you hear nothing of me for several days... I've been busy with my boys and summer and everything, so busy infact that I didn't have time to contribute anything for the final week of the Summer Card Camp 2, I barely had time to look at the lessons but I guess I can do my 'homework' later. Anyways, here's a recent make of mine with one of my newest rubber stamps, the lovely 'Large Flower Background' by Hero Arts. I simply love this stamp. L.o.v.e. LOVE. It's so gorgeous, don't you think? For this card, I heat embossed the image in seafoam white embossing powder and coloured the background with a Distress Stain in Tumbled Glass. The flowers and the leaves I coloured with Twinkling H2O watercolours. I stamped the sentiment ('Congrats on your special day') on vellum and attached it to the card. Then I just mounted everything on the card base. That's it, sweet and simple.

Päivänsinet - Morning glories

Nopsana postauksena näytille kukkakorttia. Tähän korttiin kohokuvioin korttipohjan Hero Artsin taskulla, kiinnitin sen päälle tarrapaloilla tuon vaaleanpunaisen suorakulmion, johon olin leimannut Hero Artsin Aged Background -leimalla ja Shadow Inkillä. Kukkaset (Papertrey Inkin Morning Glories) embossasin valkoisella ja väritin Twinkling H2O -vesiväreillä. Tekstileima on niinikään Papertrey Inkiä. Lisänä timantteja.

This is a very quick post to show you a card I made the other day. I dry embossed the card base with a Hero Arts/Sizzix embossing folder and, after I had stamped it with Hero Arts 'Aged Background' stamp and some pink Shadow Ink, I attached the pink rectangle on it with some foam adhesive. I heat embossed the flowers ('Morning Glories' by Papertrey Ink) with white powder and coloured them with Twinkling H2O watercolours. The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink as well. The only embellies are the three rhinestones.
