Festive Garlands

I made a set of Christmas cards with a Sizzix/Tim Holtz die set Festive Garlands. They all have the same layout, the same inked background (Distress Oxide inks in Bundled Sage and Iced Spruce with few splatters of gold ink), the same sentiment (Finnish for 'Christmas Peace') and the same die cut bow (die cut with Vault Festive Wreath die by Sizzix/Tim Holtz). The only thing that changes between them is the die cut elements. I also added a bit of Distress Glitter in Rock Candy here and Nuvo Glitter Pen there. Very quick and easy to make!

Festive Wreath

I think I'm falling in love with diecutting! I had so much fun making this card and adding all the little details, it's so different from colouring in a stamped image. The die set I used for this is by Sizzix and Tim Holtz and it's called Vault Festive Wreath. I die cut the pieces out of either white cardstock or coloured cardstock and added a bit of colour to them with Distress Oxide inks. I also splattered a bit of white acrylic paint to the wreath itself and added shimmer and glitter to the elements with Nuvo Glitter pen and Distress Rock Candy Glitter. The sentiment says 'Christmas Greetings' in Finnish. I also used some white half pearls to embellish the card.

Christmas Post

Here's a Christmas card I made with a Penny Black stamp called Darling Delivery. I kept the card quite clean and simple, just the image on a panel die cut with Zig Zag Stackers die (Penny Black) and coloured with my Copics. I did add a bit of glitter to the image with a Nuvo glitter pen, and also some white gel pen accents. I inked the panel with Distress Oxide ink  in Tattered Rose and stamped my sentiment on it (it says 'Merry Christmas' in Finnish). I matted the panel onto a panel of pale pink cardstock and adhered it all onto my cardbase before embellishing the card with some pink gems.

More Poinsettias

My Christmas cards continue with the poinsettia theme. The stamp I used for these two cards is called Center Cut Holiday Floral by Simon Says Stamp (thanks for letting me use your stamp, Nonni!). I coloured both images with my Copics but just changed the colours a bit. I also added some Nuvo Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer pen to the little red berries as well as some white gel pen here and there. I used some Stickles glitter glue to line the center before adding my sentiments. For the first card I used a die and die cut the word out of gold foil cardstock and for the second card I heat embossed the sentiment - both sentiments say 'Christmas peace'. After matting the panels onto dark green cardstock, I embellished them with some gems.

Poinsettias

I recently treated myself to a bunch of new stamps and this gorgeous Festive Poinsettia from Alex Syberia Designs was one of them. I think the stamp itself is so stunning that I wanted it to take the center stage in my cards so I went for clean and simple design with the cards. I did the colouring on all of them with my Copics but changed the colours for each one. I then ink blended the backgrounds with Distress Oxide inks before heat embossing the sentiment (it says 'Merry Christmas') with Ranger embossing powder in the colour of Bubbly. Lastly, I embellished the cards with some gems.

Father's Day

It's Father's Day in Finland today and here's the card I made for my Dad. Somehow clean-and-simple always seems the best way to go with masculine cards and it's what I chose to do here.

I used products from Concord&9th, the stamp set is called Give Thanks and the die set Layering Leaves. I first stamped the images in different shades of blue (Distress Oxide inks in Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire) on a panel that I had die cut with a die from the Border Collection set by Penny Black. After the images had dried, I heat embossed the lines on the wheat. I then die cut the leaf that is on top of the middle image, and heat embossed it, too, before adhering it on top of the leaf. The sentiment on the little banner is heat embossed as well and it says 'To Dad'. I adhered the panel with foam adhesives on top of a panel that I had ink blended with Distress Oxide inks in Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. For embellishments, I used some silver gems.

Bundled

Here's a Christmas card with another wee girl from the new Penny Black stamp set Bundled (you'll find the other one if you scroll down to my previous post or simply click here). This stamp set is a part of the new Christmas release from Penny Black called Wishing You Joy - Christmas Round 2.

I coloured this little lady with my Copics and added a bit of white gel pen here and there before die cutting her with the matching die, Bundled Cut Out. I embossed the background panel with Texture embossing folder and very lightly inked it with white ink so that only the raised parts picked up the ink. The white frame is die cut with the new Whirl die and this time I used the middle panel, too. I ink blended it with Distress Oxide inks in Broken China, Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner before heat embossing the sentiment from the sentiment set Season to Believe onto it. After adhering everything in place (the little girl is adhered with foam adhesives), I embellished the card with  a snowflake made with Stick & Shine sheet Snowflakes and foil and die cut with the matching Snowflakes die as well as with some sequins and gems.

Oh What Fun

Here's a Christmas card I made using some new products by Penny Black from their latest release, Wishing You Joy - Christmas Round 2. This lil' miss with her pooch is a stamp from the new stamp set called Bundled. I just love how girly she is so I decided to go all girly and pink with the card.

I coloured the image with my Copics and die cut it with the matching die, Bundled Cut Out. I also used stamps from the stamp set Merry Days for the florals, coloured them with my Copics and die cut them with their matching dies, Merry Days Cut Out. For the background I created the panel by ink blending Distress Oxide inks in Saltwater Taffy, Festive Berries and Aged Mahogany onto it, followed by splatters of water mixed with Perfect Pearls, and watered down white acrylic paint. I die cut the frame using the fun new frame die Whirl, I die cut the frame a couple of times and adhered them on top of each other for a little bulk. The sentiments I used are both from the same stamp set Bundled as the girl. After having adhered everything in place (the die cut image is adhered with foam adhesives), I embellished the card with some red gems.

Beary Good

I made this clean and simple Christmas card with some new stamps from the latest Penny Black release called Wishing You Joy - Christmas Round 2. This sweet boy with his teddy is from the new stamp set Beary Good and besides Christmas cards, I think he'd be amazing for some winter birthday cards.

I usually use black Memento ink for my stamping when colouring with Copics but this time I decided to try something else. I used dark grey Memento ink and I think it gave a nice soft look to my stamping. I did the colouring with Copics before die cutting the image with its matching die, Beary Good Cut Out. For the background I used a stencil from the stencil set Background Basics. I used tape to adhere the stencil to my cardstock and then I used masking paper to mask off the bottom part of the card to create a snow like look. I ink blended the background using Distress Oxide inks in Broken China and Frayed Burlap before removing the stencil. I stamped the greenery with stamps from the sets Season's Marvel (the fir tree) and Nature's Gifts (the branches). The sentiment I used is from the sentiment set Feeling of Christmas. Before adhering the stamped image to my linen textured card base with some foam adhesives, I splattered the panel with both water and acrylic paint to create falling snow.

Loveliest Smile

I was in the mood for a bit of easy watercolouring so I decided to colour this lovely stamp by Penny Black from the set Autumn Air. I used my Karin markers to colour the image and the die cut leaves before die cutting the panel with Penny Black's new frame die Classy Frames. The sentiment I used is from the set Autumn Is Calling. For the background, I did a bit of embossing using the embossing folder Dashed Design. I adhered the panel onto the background with some foam adhesives and embellished the card with the die cut leaves, some twine and a button and gold gems.

Autumn

I love it when new products give you ideas and inspiration to use your stash, that's exactly what happened here. I used the new frame die from Penny Black called Classy Frames and paired it with an older stamp set.

First, I die cut the opening on the panel with the second largest Classy Frames die and then I die cut the frame with the largest die in the set. I coloured the frame by ink blending Distress Oxide inks in Dried Marigold, Ripe Persimmon and Lumberjack Plaid on it. I then stamped the image using a stamp from the Autumn Air stamp set and coloured it with my Copics. The sentiment is from the sentiment set Autumn Is Calling. Lastly, I adhered everything in place and embellished the card with a few gems.

Heartsong and Snowflakes

I love this little bird from the new Penny Black stamp set Heartsong so much that I wanted to make another card with it. I think he just looks like the kindest little bird ever.

I coloured the image with my Copics and added a bit of gold Stickles onto the berries before die cutting the panel with the new Classy Frames die. I then used the die again to cut the outer frame from dark brown cardstock. Before adhering the frame to the stamped panel with some tape, I ink blended the edges of the panel with Distress Oxide ink in Antique Linen and stamped the sentiment from the Heartsong set. For the background, I used kraft coloured cardstock and die cut the bottom part with the Textural die for added interest before ink blending the edges of the background panel with Distress Oxide ink in Frayed Burlap. I wanted to add some snowflakes to the card, so I used one larger snowflake from the Stick & Shine sheet Extraordinary on the background panel and foiled it with gold foil. The two smaller snowflakes are made with the new Stick & Shine sheet Snowflakes, I foiled them with gold foil as well and then die cut with the matching die, Snowflakes Cut Out. I adhered them in place and embellished them with gold sequins and half pearls.

Here's an angled view of the card to show the shine of the foiled snowflakes.

More Merry Days

I'm continuing with the same stamp set that I made yesterday's card with. It's a new stamp set from Penny Black called Merry Days and it's a wonderful set with cute bears and elegant florals - a double whammy!

For this card, I used the cute bear pair. I coloured them with my Copics adding a bit of gold Stickles glue to the star. I then used the Immense Joy die and first die cut the bear panel to fit into the opening of the letter O and then a couple of times out of regular cardstock which I layered on top of each other after having ink blended Distress Oxide inks to the first layer. For the background, I first used a panel die cut with All-in-One Oval die on top of which I layered a panel die cut with Semi-Circle Stackers die. Before removing the Semi-Circle Stackers die, I blended a bit of blue Distress Oxide ink to it. The heat embossed sentiment comes from the Merry Days stamp set, I adhered it with foam adhesives. I embellished the card with snowflakes made with the new Stick & Shine sheet Snowflakes and foil and die cut with the matching Snowflakes die. I also added enamel dots to the centres of the snowflakes.

While I was at it, I could not leave the floral stamps of Merry Days stamp set alone, I had to make another card with them. Here I've coloured them with my Copics and die cut with the matching die, Merry Days Cut Out. I then created the frame using Stitched Loops die and adhered the die cut florals to the inside of the frame. For the background, I ink blended a panel with Distress Oxide inks and splattered some water and golden ink spray on it. I created the sentiment using a stamp from the Merry Builder sentiment set and a die cut word using Merry and Joy die. I first die cut the word Merry from gold foil cardstock and then a couple of times out of regular cardstock and layered the words on top of each other. Lastly, I embellished the card with some red sequins with white half pearls on top of them.

Floral Christmas Bauble

I love stamp sets that give you a variety of different kinds of stamps that you can create different styles of cards with and the new Merry Days stamp set by Penny Black is just that. You get cute bears (a card with them coming later) and elegant florals which are what I've used in today's card.

I stamped the florals on the perimeter of the bauble die cut with Jumbo Bauble die and coloured them with my Copics, adding some white gel pen accents here and there. I also did a very light inking on the edges of the bauble with Distress Oxide ink in Antique Linen before inking it with VersaMark ink and heat embossing it in gold. I used a sentiment from the sentiment set Christmas Sentiments and heat embossed it in gold as well. I coloured the other elements die cut with the Jumbo Bauble die with Copics as well, leaving one of the bows white. For the background, I used a stencil from the Background Basics stencil set and inked the background with Distress Oxide inks in Evergreen Bough and Rustic Wilderness, splashing a few drops of water on it for added interest. I adhered everything in place and embellished the card with some half pearls.

Take Wing

The latest release by Penny Black called Christmas 2024 - Round One includes a stamp set that has the most elegant tree stamps. I think these birch trees in this set called Take Wing are so beautiful and the little birds just add to the charm.

The first card is super CAS. I stamped the birches on my panel and masked them with masking paper. I then used a stencil from the stencil set Background Basics and ink blended Distress Oxide inks to the panel.  Before removing the stencil and the masking paper, I splattered the panel with some water and then with some white gouache paint to create the snowfall. I then removed the stencil and the masking paper, coloured the little bird with my Karin markers and stamped the sentiment from the sentiment set Snowflake Season. Lastly, I embellished the card with a single snowflake that I made using the new Stick & Shine sheet Snowflakes, some foil and the matching die, Snowflakes Cut Out. I finished the snowflake by adding a bling to its centre.

I'm entering this to:

* CAS on Friday: Challenge #291 - Feathered Friends

* The Paper Funday Challenges: September, Challenge #69 - Anything Goes with the optional twist of Create Your Own Background

For the second card, I used the other birch stamp from the same stamp set, Take Wing. I stamped it onto a panel die cut with the new frame die called Classy Frames, masked it with masking paper and ink blended the background with some Distress Oxide inks. I created the snow the same way as in the first card, by splattering the panel with some water and then with some white gouache paint. I also coloured the birds with my Karin markers. The sentiment I used is from the sentiment set Touched by Peace. I added the white frame on the panel, it's die cut with the same Classy Frames die. For the background, I used a panel of light blue cardstock that I first embossed with the new embossing folder, Melody, and then inked with some Distress Oxide inks. I adhered the panel onto a slightly larger panel of white cardstock and adhered the die cut panel on top of it with some foam adhesives. I decided to embellish the card with some die cut snowflakes, the big one is die cut with Polar Pair die and the smaller ones are die cut with Dancing Snowflakes die. I embellished the snowflakes with sequins and half pearls.

Heartsong #2

The new stamp set from Penny Black called Heartsong has two different stamps. I used one of the stamps in my previous card (see it by clicking here) and I wanted to make another card using the other stamp because I think this little bird is so sweet.

I coloured the image with my Copics and added a bit of frosty looking Stickles on the berries. I also very lightly inked the panel with Distress Oxide ink in Old Paper. I then die cut the white panel with a Penny Black die called Snowflake Frame and inked the inner rectangular frame with Distress Oxide ink in Lumberjack Plaid. I used a sentiment from the sentiment set Feeling of Christmas and stamped it onto the panel before adhering everything in place. Lastly, I embellished the card with a couple of snowflakes using the new Stick & Shine sheet Snowflakes and the matching die Snowflakes Cut Out. The Stick & Shine sheets can be used with embossing powder and so I used gold embossing powder to heat emboss them. I added small half pearls in the centres of the snowflakes to give them a finished look.

Heartsong

I made a Christmas card using new products from the latest Penny Black release, Christmas 2024 - Round One. I used the beautiful berry branch from the new stamp set Heartsong and coloured it with my Copics. I then die cut the panel using the new frame die called Classy Frames and ink blended some Distress Oxide ink in Antique Linen on the edges. I then used a smaller die from the Classy Frames set and die cut a piece of white cardstock with it to get the smaller frame. Before adhering it in place, I heat embossed a sentiment from the sentiment set Jolly Snippets in gold. For the background, I used a piece of cream coloured cardstock that I embossed with the new embossing folder Melody before lightly inking it with Distress Oxide ink in Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap - I only gently sweeped Frayed Burlap onto the raised bits to bring them out a bit. I then adhered the embossed panel onto a piece of dark brown cardstock and adhered the die cut panel on it with foam adhesives. Lastly, I used the new Stick & Shine sheet called Snowflakes and heat embossed one snowflake in gold before die cutting it with the matching die, Snowflakes Cut Out. I adhered it in place and placed a tiny sticky back pearl in its middle.

Mistletoe #2

I love this cute pair so much that I wanted to make another card with it (see my first card here). This is a new stamp from Penny Black from their latest release, Christmas 2024 - Round One, and it's called Mistletoe. I coloured the images with my Copics and die cut them with the matching dies, Mistletoe Cut Out. For the background, I used a panel die cut with All-in-One Oval (that's the one with scalloped edge) and a panel die cut with Semi-Circle Stackers die. For that panel, I left the die in place and ink blended Distress Oxide inks in Old Paper and Frayed Burlap to the panel. After I removed the die, I had a crisp white frame around it. After I heat embossed a sentiment from the sentiment set Thrill of Hope in gold, I adhered everything in place.

Mistletoe

I am getting into Christmas mood with adorable new stamps and dies from the latest Penny Black release called Christmas 2024 - Round One. The whole release is gorgeous and I reached for this stamp first as it was so fun to colour. This is called Mistletoe and it has matching dies, Mistletoe Cut Out.

I started by die cutting the framed panel with a new die called Classy Frames and stamping the image on it. I then coloured the image with my Copics and added a bit of white gel pen here and there and also a bit of Stickles glitter glue to the furry parts of the little girls jacket. I also stamped and die cut with the matching die the mistletoe before colouring it with my Copics. The sentiment I used is from the sentiment set Feeling of Christmas, I stamped it onto the panel. I then die cut the frame again, this time out of purple cardstock to get the frame part. It wasn't exactly the purple I wanted so I ink blended a bit of Distress Oxide ink in Seedless Preserves on it, and did the same with the piece of purple cardstock showing behind the embossed panel on the background. The embossed panel is embossed using the lovely new embossing folder called Melody. Lastly, I adhered everything in place, the mistletoe is adhered with foam adhesives.

Critter Party

I'm still growing my birthday card stash and so here is one I made with a stamp from an older Penny Black stamp set called Critter Party. I coloured the image with my Copics and added a bit of Stickles to the frosting on the cupcake. Before stamping my sentiment (which says 'Congratulating you on your birthday'), I die cut the panel with a die from the Penny Black die set Border Collection. I then stamped and heat embossed in white a stamp from the Penny Black stamp set Footnotes on a piece of cardstock which I then ink blended with Distress Oxide ink. After adhering it on my card base, I adhered the panel with the stamped image on it with foam adhesives.

This turned out a really simple, one layer card as I basically just wanted to colour the image which I did with my Lukas watercolours. After having coloured the image, I used a stencil from Penny Black's stencil set Background Basics and ink blended the panel using Distress Oxide ink in Bundled Sage. I then left the stencil in place and splattered the panel with some gold ink. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment (it says 'Congratulations').

Watercoloured florals

I've been doing some watercolouring lately using my Lukas watercolours and turning the watercoloured images into simple one layer cards. Here's one image that I watercoloured, this is beautiful Meander from Penny Black. After I had watercoloured the image, I used a stencil from Penny Black's Background Basics stencil set and ink blended a bit of Old Paper Distress Oxide ink onto the panel. I then left the stencil in place and splattered the panel with some gold spray ink. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment - it says 'Congratulations' in Finnish.

Brew-Tea-Ful Gladness

I love having a play with these new tea cup stamps by Penny Black from the stamp set Brew-Tea-Ful and seeing what stamps I can pair them with. This time I used flowers from Gladness stamp. I coloured the flowers with my watercolours and fussy cut them out. I then ink blended the die cut tea cup with Distress Oxide inks in Old Paper and Brushed Corduroy, stamped the tea cup with Brushed Corduroy and splattered it with watercolours. I die cut the background panel with a die from the Border Collection die set and added behind it a panel embossed with Filigree embossing folder. Before I adhered the white panel with foam adhesives, I stamped the sentiment using Note Builder stamp set. Lastly, I embellished the card with some black gems.

I wanted to have a bit of a play with the tea cups from the new Penny Black stamp set Brew-Tea-Ful and see what florals I could fit in it. I chose the stamp New Day, coloured the image with my Karin markers and fussy cut the flowers leaving the watering can out. The flowers fit the tea cup perfectly! I then took the die cut tea cup, ink blended it with Distress Oxide inks in Salvaged Patina and Brushed Corduroy before stamping the tea cup itself on it with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink and splattering the tea cup with the same inks. For the background, I used the frame die cut with Frame It die and ink blended with Distress Oxide inks in Speckled Egg and a tiny bit of Hickory Smoke and splattered with watered down Speckled Egg ink. I then used the Filigree embossing folder and embossed a piece of vellum with it. I placed the embossed vellum behind the frame and layered it all on a piece of cream coloured cardstock. After adhering everything in place (I adhered the florals with foam adhesives), I embellished the card with some brown gems. This time I chose to leave the card without a sentiment as I find I sometimes need 'plain' cards with no sentiments.

Overflowing Blooms

I made this clean and simple birthday card with a stamp from the new Overflowing stamp set by Penny Black from their latest release, All Smiles. I stamped the flowers on the bottom right corner and coloured them with my Copics. I then used a stencil from the stencil set Background Basics and ink blended the background with Distress Oxide inks in Antique Linen and a tiny bit of Brushed Corduroy before stamping the sentiment from the sentiment set Delightful Day and splattering the background with white, brown and gold watercolour. Lastly, I embellished the card with some gems.

Overflowing Envelope

I think these tulips from the new Overflowing stamp set from the latest Penny Black release, All Smiles, are a perfect fit with this envelope from the Exquisite Envelope set, also by Penny Black. I stamped, watercoloured and die cut with the matching dies the images. I cut one of the tulips off to make the image sit better in the envelope, and placed that tulip in the front of the other tulips. I also stamped the envelope with the cute little postage stamp from the Overflowing set. For the background, I used coloured cardstock and a frame die cut with Frame It die. I die cut the frame of white cardstock and ink blended it with Distress Oxide inks in Antique Linen and Tattered Rose. The sentiment I used is from the sentiment set Magical Friendship. After I had adhered everything in their places, I embellished the card with some clear enamel dots.

Brew-Tea-Ful

I had fun playing with one of the tea cups from the new Brew-Tea-Ful stamp set from Penny Black. The tea cups in this set are a great size for all kinds of bouquets to be arranged in them. This time I used flowers from the Abloom stamp set and some die cuts. I coloured the tea cup and the flowers with my Copics. I then die cut the leaves with a die from the Leaves die set and other greenery with the Blustery die set and coloured them with my Copics, too. I then die cut the panel with a die from the Border Collection die set and stamped the sentiment from the sentiment set Brighten the World. On the piece of cardstock behind the panel, I stamped with a stamp from the Footnotes stamp set, heat embossed it in white and ink blended Distress Oxide inks in Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet on it. Lastly, I adhered everything in place (I adhered the panel with some foam adhesives so it is a little raised from the cardbase) and embellished the card with some simple white pearls.

Man's Best Friend

I think these doggos are so very cute! They're from the stamp set Man's Best Friend and are a part of the Fan Favorite selection in the new release by Penny Black called All Smiles.

For the first card I chose the happiest dog ever and coloured him with my Karin Markers. I then die cut the panel with Stitched Nested Frames die and stamped the sentiment from the sentiment set Carefree Wishes - I think that sentiment is a spot on with the happy doggo! I matted the panel onto some dark grey cardstock and added a bit of patterned paper on the background. Lastly, I embellished the card with some enamel dots.

I did the second card in a similar manner to the first one. The image is from the same stamp set, Man's Best Friend, as is the sentiment I used. Colouring with Karin Markers, background paper from the Coco Style paper pad and embellished with enamel dots.

Little Guy

I have two sons and four nephews so I love good 'boy stamps'! I was so thrilled to see that Penny Black had a great set of boy stamps in their recent release, All Smiles. The stamp set is called Little Guy and it has three stamps, I used two in these cards.

For the first card, I used the little guy with his toy boat and coloured the image with my Copics adding a little bit of white gel pen here and there. I then used the Hello Edger die to die cut the panel and the word 'hello'. I die cut the hello a couple of times and adhered them on top of each other to make the die cut word a little more prominent. The secondary sentiment is from the Hello Builder stamp set. I also used a bit of patterned paper on top of the card, the paper is from the Gentle Whisper paper pad. Lastly, I embellished the card with some enamel dots.

For the second card, I used the little guy playing football. Again I coloured the image with my Copics and die cut the panel with a die from the Border Collection die set and added a bit of patterned paper from the Gentle Whisper paper pad behind the panel. The sentiment I used is from the sentiment set Carefree Wishes. I used enamel dots here too to embellish the card.

Overflowing still

I'm still having fun with the new Overflowing stamp set from the latest Penny Black release called All Smiles. This time I decided to use the tulips from the set. I coloured the image with my Copics before die cutting it with the matching die, Overflowing Cut Out. I also chose a tea cup from the new Brew-Tea-Ful stamp set, stamped it, die cut it with the matching die (Brew-Tea-Ful Cut Out) and coloured it by lightly ink blending Distress Oxide inks on it. For the background I used a stencil from the previously released stencil set Background Basics and ink blended some Distress Oxide inks through it. The sentiment I used is from the sentiment set Brighten the World. Lastly, I embellished the card with some clear gems.
